** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Sat Oct 21 at 1753 tune-in via Argentine remote, LRA36 already on, S5 talk not just music; 1755 contact info; [lunchtime for me]; 1828 recreation of LRA36 when it was on 6030, 1968-69? 1843 IDs; 1844 multi-lingual canned IDs including English; 1856 quoting Horacio Nigro`s La Galena del Sur blog from Uruguay, about LRA36. Too much else going on Saturday afternoons to listen to this for five hours straight! But some further chex: At 1918 I change to Brasil SDR. But there it does not sound quite right at .98; maybe best at 15476.15? But SDR must be miscalibrated as on WWV 15000.000, it says carrier -106 Hz! On some SDRs can`t find a carrier to zero in on. Even with good modulation level, carrier at Brasília is JBA and hard to pinpoint. About 2000 mentions expecting a special program from Adrián Korol at 6 pm [=21z]. 2002, historic recording of first? contact between Antártida and Malvinas. 2041, it`s up to S7/S9 at Bsla. 2126, ID with frequency, current temp +5, a heat wave. 2256 next check seems off. Is anyone hearing them any other days at 15-17? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, R. Kiribati: still not getting any trace of it direct; so I am trying via Oahu SDR which last season got it as early at 0430 UT, circa sunset there and on Xmas Island to the south: Oct 21 at 0435, nothing audible or visible on the H2Ofall, yet SAM synch lox onto a carrier displaying +0.4 to +1.1 Hz averaging +0.8. Don`t see how it could be anything else from Pacific or Asia, let alone Europe. At next chex 0523 & 0555, there is a JBV fuzzy carrier, still nothing audible, and variation slightly greater, plus/minus 2 Hz. Some or all of that could be instability of receiver; or partly transmitter; or unstable propagation. Will keep checking periodically. June 8 at 0658 was the last time I logged a JJBBA carrier direct (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, Oct 21 at 0518 UT, K17JN-D, the multi-channel 3ABN satellator in Enid is still black and silent two weeks after first noted October 7. One suspects the 7DA aren`t very serious about their broadcasting (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 11785.009+, Oct 21 at 2200, VOT timesignal and opening English, VG S9+15/30 signal and good modulation too into UTwente, news dated Saturday, but probably originally broadcast at 1230. 2209, multilingual ID filler reel. 2211, music. 2216 travelog to Izmit, which is on an inlet just ESE of Istanbul, not to be confused with Izmir; music. 2229 `Gripping Piles` about warm temps in Antarctica, short pants wearable due to climate change, 18 March 2022, hot humid air blew in from Australia. 2232 more nice music. 2237 recipe for making jam from eggplants, on `Turkiye`s Geomarked [sic] Products`. 2240 music. 2246 always-by-your-side promo, music. 2249 with-you-every-hour promo, music. 2253 s/off with usual defects. 2254 about 6 notes of IS before chopoff* No finesse (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2213 monitoring: confirmed UT Saturday October 21 at 0130 on WRMI 5850, S9+20/30 into Missouri SDR. Also confirmed Saturday October 21 at 1600 on WRN North America webcast. Hmmm, sounds sorta like Biermann, but on BCQ? No, shortly mentions `Intelligence Report`, which is supposedly sked only at 0000 UT Tue on 7490. Right into how to stock up on guns and ammo. Claims USA is Soviet-occupied? Back to AAAWWW: at 0037 dated as Oct 20, and simulcasting only on 7490 & 5130 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UZBEKISTAN. 15475, Oct 20 at 1452, JBA carrier, among many on the band but this one could QRM LRA36 if overlaps with its alleged 15-17 UT sked; not quite per EiBi: 15475 1300-1330 CLA Nippon no Kaze K KRE /UZB 15475 1330-1400 CLA Furusato no Kaze J KRE /UZB 15475 1400-1430 UZB Filler music KRE /UZB 15475 1430-1500 CLA Furusato no Kaze J KRE /UZB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Oct 20 at 0329-0334, on the R75 with N/S interior shortwire: 1566?, 1044, 999, 855-2=strongest, 774-2, 711, 585, 576, 531 kHz. Then I switch to the Wellbrook loop aimed E/W and get slightly better results tuning back upward at 0334-0342: 531, 576-2, 639-2, 684, 711, 729, 774, 855-2, 882-2, 909, 954, 999, 1017, 1026, 1044, 1107-2, 1125, 1296, 1305-2, 1422, 1503, 1521 kHz. -2 means at least 2 carriers beating. Might have pulled a few more, but all the splash from obstructive North Americans on 10/kHz channels is fierce. Here in deep North America, with my ordinary equipment, getting any axual TA audio is rare. But hey, a signal is a signal, making the trip. Many of these I`m sure are Spain but there are some intriguing other possibilities listed I won`t go into now. Trans-Pacific: 846, R. Kiribati, Kiritimati, so far have not detected this, if on the air? Would be audible as early as 0430 at least into Hawaii SDR, and of course direct long after TAs absorbed in daytime; anyway, nothing over 3 kW in Europe (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 5041.65 USB, Oct 20 at 0712, 2-way in Spanish, very quick interchanges with cambios, JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0118 UT October 21

Dear Glenn: Update, I did hear 5850, 9395, confirming WOR #2212, WRMI: 5850, 0133, 0146, 0159 (55433), October 14 UTC 2023 [Sat] 9395, 2330, 2346 (45443), 2359, October 17 UTC 2023 [Tue] 73’s, Richard, October 18, 2023 10:49 am`` Confirmed Tuesday October 17 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, VG S9+35 into Missouri SDR. Confirmed Wednesday October 18 at 2100 on WBCQ 7490 -74 Hz = 7489.926, S9/+12 into Maryland SDR. Next: 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW No new contributions to acknowledge this week, in US funds but not necessarily, via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com Or MO, check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330, Oct 18 at 1511, World`s Last Chance Radio on WBCQ-6, in pseudo-scientific discussion of how the earth is flat, as looking at the stars surely confirms, Polaris visible in the south, the stars being very nearby in the firmament. So ridiculing them as ``Flat Earthers`` is still very much appropriate. Allan Weiner would never do that but often reminds us he is a ``man of science`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5890, Wed Oct 18 at 0654, WWCR-4 is on with unID gospel huxter, not // 5850 WRMI so not TOMBS. This transmitter had been on overnight only on UT Sat & Sun for TOMBS. WWCR-4 on 5890 could be on anytime between 02 and 12. For axual scheduling, rather than 24/7 registered availability, we must look instead at the program schedules. The Oct 1 version still claims 5890 is OFF THE AIR, M-F 12-7 am Central, misconverted to UT as 06-13 rather than 05-12. Could it be something sked on another transmitter? NO, 5935 has University Network, not that. 4840 is TOMBS, and 3215 is supposed to be OFF just like 5890, altho I did not recheck 3215 at this time. WWCR has already added B23 transmitter schedules, in two steps, the first week Oct 29-Nov 5 while USA be still on DST; and then Nov 6 onward, off DST. Same old frequencies, but shifts in changeover times for a few of them. 5890 will be available at 03-13 UT. On this xmtr page it appears they get the CT/UT conversions correct, unlike on the programming pages (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15610, Oct 18 at 2226, RCC discussion in English, so WEWN is back on; was AWOL last time I checked. S9+10 with squeal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1130, Oct 18 at 1512 UT, YL DJ on KLEY Wellington KS with slogan in passing as ``The Wave``, NOT ``Red Dirt Country`` as in 2023-2024 NRC AM Log, and rock rather than country (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 9960, Oct 18 0657, S4/S5 talk from R. Vanuatu still here, vanishes sometime after 0658. I don`t think they make any retuning announcement, do they? Leaving listeners hanging unless they be DXer-like, in the know (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search October 18 at 0111-0120 UT. This time on the NRD-545 which doesn`t tune in 9-kHz steps - or if it can, I don`t know how; rather than the IC-R75, so I have to manually go in USB to 1 kHz below some of them, and do get some hits, not in exact order tuned: 684, 711, 774-2 beating, 855, 891, 909-strongest, 999-2, 1053, 1107 kHz. Likely from Spain, Western Sahara, Algeria, UKQOGBANI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 15299.87 approx., Oct 18 at 1514, JBA carrier direct as I am checking for MiniTransAt. At 1521 I check UTwente, but it has an S7 open carrier right on 15300.000 but rough. Was it a birdie? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0025 UT October 19
