"FRS-Holland 1980-2020: 40 years on shortwave.
On Sunday November 8th FRS-Holland will celebrate 40 years of shortwave
broadcasts. Following intensive preparations FRS is ready to offer an
attractive programming that day.
This time we hope to surprise you...so we won't reveal all details as
far as the programme content is concerned. Tune in and find out! Of
course our history plays an important part.
A hint: the music we play is closely associated to several aspects of
FRS' past 40 years. Listen and enjoy.
To be honest: this won't be a typical broadcast for a quick
listen...there's so much interesting to listen to next Sunday....sit
down behind your SW receiver & make sure you are part of it.
In order to make listening convenient, next Sunday's broadcast will be
aired on different frequencies ánd different times. In addition there
will be a number of streams starting a few days

after the shortwave broadcasts. Take a look at our schedule.
There will be a special Anniversary QSL card. Besides: listeners who
send in a letter/ report to P.O.Box 2702 in Herten will receive our FRS
40 years Souvenir booklet containing many interesting articles. Please
enclose 5 euro to cover P&P. For an extra 5 euro we offer a FRS 40 years
CD. This CD contains programme extracts from past & present, FRS 40th
Anniversary jingles (recently produced for next Sunday) and a few
surprises.

We are looking forward to have your company next Sunday!

WNJC 1360 DX TEST TONIGHT  View Printable Version
Sunday, November 08 2020

HCDX
SPECIAL UPDATE---KSEN Test is CONFIRMED for tonight. We have also learned that there was a problem with the transmitter switch last night. Test ran at low power. Tonight will be full power.

The Courtesy Program Committee of the National Radio Club and International Radio Club of America are pleased to announce another DX Test. This time from KSEN 1150 kHz in Shelby, Montana, near the Canadian border. KSEN plays an oldies format with the slogan, “Good as Gold.” They’re a fixture in the Shelby area but can be difficult to log outside of Big Sky country.

This test for distant listeners is being done with the generous support of the owners of KSEN, station management, and Chief Engineer Todd Clark. We can also thank the efforts of CPC member Paul Walker who used his connections in broadcasting to arrange yet another test.

The test will be on late night Saturday-Early Sunday morning on November 8, 2020 starting at 12:01AM Mountain Time for one hour. This is 0700-0800 UTC so it may be tough to log in Europe.

Test will be at the daytime power of 10,000 watts, but we are not yet certain about which antenna pattern may be available for the test.
Todd is attempting to arrange a change to the ND pattern, but may be limited to the night pattern which favors the North and South, with nulls towards E-W.

It looks like Todd will be doing maintenance on day pattern, but this is not confirmed.

Test will consist of voice announcements, Morse Code ID’s, sweep tones, off-hook telephone sounders, etc. The station has a small staff, so they have asked the CPC Committee to handle reception reports and verifications. Verifications will be by e-mail only. A specially designed QSL card in Adobe PDF format will be sent to successful reports.

The CPC prefers audio recordings in .MP3 or .WAV format. These should be e-mailed to: les@highnoonfilm.com <mailto:les@highnoonfilm.com>

Put this on your calendar, and don’t miss the chance to log a great station in Northern Montana. Thanks again to CE Todd Clark and Paul Walker for this great DX Test.

SPECIAL UPDATE—WNJC 1360 RUNNING DX TEST TONIGHT WITH HALLOWEEN AUDIO

45 are zones, not 45 deg or between 68 and 123 deg, according their
schedule <https://www.channel292.de/schedule-9670-khz/>

Tnx for the heads up Bryan! R. Channel 292 with nice S4 signal into NZ at
0645 tune with “Crusader Radio” religious program, jingle IDs at 0700.5
and
into non-stop rock at 0701. Freq has drifted down a bit to 9669.85. Better
hrd here than in ECNA on previous nights this week, probably due gray line
reception from W. Europe to NZ and the beam being used (Beam “45” is being
shown on the 9760 schedule).

I'm hearing a decent signal with non-stop music on 9669.86 since before
0300 UTC today Saturday which I suspect is Channel 292 testing for
tomorrow's planned transmission by Texas Radio Shortwave at 0300.
