** CHINA. 12880, June 20 at 1427, CNR1 jammer, S3-S6, and none higher into the 13s; also 12550 S6-S9; 11460 JBA carrier and none lower into the 10s. Probably would have been more before 1400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 740 & 1170, June 21 at 0033 UT check, no surprise that Tulsa`s big two talk stations, KRMG and KFAQ are both broadcasting Trump`s pathetic speech live; don`t know about Tulsa TV stations, but major OKC ones are too: KFOR, KOCO, KWTV, and a little late, the Fox affil, KOKH. Meanwhile, as Drumpf started a few minutes earlier, both CNN and MSNBC were *not* --- rather an SPCA PSA and general commentary, altho with a split screen on Tulsa. There was no sign of our beloved Gov. Kevin Stitt, who had previously proudly proclaimed that he would be unmasked introducing the acting president (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, June 20 at 2201, VOT in English except for NO signal, while NSS RTTY prevails; recheck at 2248 via UTwente, nothing there either. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 28236.5-CW, June 20 at 1858, JBA beacon, fading out and barely in. Monitoring over several minutes I never agglomerate the entire message, but enough portions: dits --- VVV --- W0KIZ/B --- COLORADO. Fits with the WJ5O master list: ``28.2365 WØKIZ C DENVER, COLORADO # 5W, 1/2 VERTICAL`` https://www.qrz.com/lookup/w0kiz ``W0KIZ USA flag USA, ROBERT E GOLD, CASTLE ROCK, CO 80104 USA The second picture is my 10 meter beacon on 28.2365 mhz running about 9 watts with 5 watts to the antenna on my barn. The 5763 final tube is approaching 80,000 hours of continuous operation. Yes, properly designed equipment with the correct voltages running ccs operation can last as long as solid state. This beacon is never disconnected for lightning.`` The only other one is on 28209 at 1853+, but just too weak to copy anything. Only four listed on exact frequency, in Hawaii, Ireland, Texas and New York the last two ``QRT``. Es MUF nowhere above 88 MHz whenever I check earlier or later (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 28231-CW, WA4FC/B beacon, 1750 UT June 11, 2020, Prince George VA, promised P-QSL received June 19, tnx: https://www.w4uvh.net/WA4FCb-QSL-1.jpg https://www.w4uvh.net/WA4FCb-QSL-2.jpg with note on the back, #92 and #93 at http://www.worldofradio.com/QSL.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2039 monitoring: missed checking Saturday June 20 at 1300 on WRMI 15770; did anyone hear it? Confirmed UT Sunday June 21 at 0300 on WRMI 5800 good at Colombia SDR Also confirmed UT Sunday June 21 at 0332 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, via SDR in Indiana, good but storm noise, about 5 minutes into so started circa 0327. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 17775-, Saturday June 19 at 1506, KVOH is S9/+10 but just barely modulated; I cannot even recognize whether there be a familiar voice to be sure it`s `Wavescan` as scheduled (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 18120-USB, June 20 at 2203, only phone signals on band are an N4 in Nashville and a WA5 in Texas, neither of whom enunciates calls clearly vs fading out and in, let alone fonetikaly. ** OKLAHOMA. 103.7, June 19 at 1920 UT, a ``K-Love`` station with annoying pledge drive not noticed before as Wichita used to dominate:
``KYLK 103.7 OKEMAH OK 72.0 kW ERP, 282.0 m, 35-15-47 96-22-43 A588 K-Love Title & Artist Title & Artist Adult Hits CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN K-LOVE`` The K-Love empire infests the entire FM band, both commercial and ``non``, about 623 entries in the WTFDA FM database, many of them translators clogging up frequencies otherwise usable for more diversity, to say the least, if not DX (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, June 19 at 2202, VOT English is on but totally buried by the NSS Annapolis RTTY, nor can it be notched out (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. The USAGM/VOA purge keeps making press as covered in the WOR iog; and now The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC, UT Sat June 20 in segments between 0124 and 0152, the latter with guests two of the fired board members, ex-ambassadors. Repeated 3 hours later. Must see or hear. Video, audio and transcripts should appear shortly at https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show Some of the latest press about, via Mike Cooper: How Trump's obsessions with media and loyalty coalesced in a battle for Voice of America -- By Sarah Ellison June 19, 2020 at 4:52 PM EDT https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/media/how-trumps-obsessions-with-media-and-loyalty-coalesced-in-a-battle-for-voice-of-america/2020/06/19/f57dcfe0-b1b1-11ea-8758-bfd1d045525a_story.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2039 monitoring: confirmed first WRMI broadcast, Friday June 19 at 2200 on 9955, S9-S8 and no jamming audible. Also confirmed UT Saturday June 20 at 0130 on WRMI trimulcast: via Maine SDR 7780 VG > 5850 G > 5010 F. Direct to OK at 0155 check: 5850 VG S9+20/30 > 5010 S9+10/20 > 7780 S9/+10 but the last two with heavy storm noise and some still audible under 5850. Next: 0900 UT Saturday Unique Radio NSW 3210-USB 1300 UT Saturday WRMI 15770 to NE 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0400] 0300 UT Sunday WRMI 5800 to SSE 0900 UT Sunday Unique Radio NSW 3210-USB 0130 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE 0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 5130v Area 51 or 6160v to WSW 0330 UT Monday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0900 UT Monday Unique Radio NSW 3210-USB 1800vUT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy 0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Thanks this week for financial support from Ron Howard, Monterey CA, who sent a generous contribution in memory of Brian Alexander, by check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 One may also contribute via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com PayPal not necessarily in US funds as they will convert. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7490v), June 20 at 0001-0100, `AAAWWW` on WBCQ webcast, Allan is again shirtless it is so hot 84 degrees, Angela is so beautiful and he loves her so much; mostly discussion of current events as of Juneteenth. Angela raises her voice in opposition to some of them to the point of distortion. A says he is training A about all aspects of station operation, since she is co-owner and much younger than he is, so she can take over upon his demise, altho says he is in good health now. She would rather they both die simultaneously. Didn`t get much of the second half, and John Carver`s computer is down again, so if anyone heard anything significant technically or programmingly, let us know (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 17775-, June 19 at 1753, KVOH is S9/+10 but just a trace of modulation. Are they aware of this? Why leave it on air at all? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 107.9-WBFM, June 19 at 1918 UT visiting Government Springs Park in Enid, a quick tunearound finds a solid signal from ``US 107.9 --- Great American Country``. Stormy cool weather and high humidity mean tropo enhancement even in the afternoon; Tulsa and Wichita-area signals are stronger than usual, but what`s this? ``KWLS 107.9 WINFIELD KS 50.0 kW ERP, 150 m HAAT, 37-15-46 96-53-42 COUNTRY US 107.9 - REAL AMERICAN COUNTRY`` Normally I don`t hear anything on 107.9 above OKC KRXO 107.7, but this is not far away just over the frontier. FCC FM Query shows: KWLS' first license was granted 10-20-1980. But it was originally on 105.5 as KWKS. In the meantime it has had two other calls, but KWLS since 12/31/07, but on what frequency? 107.9 was licensed as of 4/28/09. But has there been a power increase since then? Such info is not easily found at FCC, if at all. Searching old DX reports on KWLS, we find circa 2006 it was the call on the 1290 Pratt KS AM station, far on the other side of Wichita; now it`s part of the Steckline empire, including 1210 KGYN Guymon OK, and the imaginary(?) 1370 KGNO Dodge City KS. While 107.9 is in I also find dead air on 107.5, maybe somecar nearby`s RF feeder not offturned (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. The shifty local-area scratchnoiseblobs are still around, e.g. June 19 at 1448 some of the approx. ranges: 6890-6920, 7225-7290, 7583-7640, 9010-9050, 9390-9460, 9725-9750, i.e. roughly 360 kHz apart --- and this was on inside longwire due to nearby storming (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0453 UT June 20 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

** CANADA. 93.5-WBFM, June 19 at 0148 & 0153 UT, a few words of French Canadian overcome briefly the Kansan; checking sporadic E in the car after seeing a spike above 100 MHz on the DX Map, to my NNW. Has to be Canadian, and only two SRC possibilities, not the QC ones:
CBKF-FM-3 relays CBKF-FM 97.7 on 93.5 from ZENON PARK SK, 1.34 kW ERP H&V, 122.0 m HAAT, 53-01-02 103-43-36 French VARIETY ICI RADIO-CANADA PREMIERE CKSB-7-FM relays CKSB-1050 on 93.5 from KENORA ON 20.0 kW ERP, 100.0 m HAAT, 49-46-06 94-30-17 French NEWS/TALK ICI RADIO-CANADA PREMIERE Per the WTFDA FM Database; how can one format be Variety and the other News/Talk since they are the same network? Position of the MUF blob suggests SK more likely, and certainly weak enough, Kenora also a good skip distance not too far off the bearing; nor can I DF it on the caradio vertical antenna. Distances: 1909 km = 1186 stmi from ZP SK, which is about halfway between Prince Albert and the *town* of Hudson Bay SK in the east-central; 1542 km = 958 stmi from Kenora in SW ON by Lake of the Woods. There were one or two random meteor bursts (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 12200, June 18 at 0551, RHC English is S6-S7 and JBM on 2 x 6100, which is S9+20/30 and undermodulated; 6145 is louder altho weaker, S9+10/20; 6000 has not gone off yet, suptorted S9+20. All the 6`s confront storm noise level from Nebraska to W Central Ontario. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 9689.920, June 18 at 0601, surprised to find VON here with presumed Hausa and drumming, instead of absent 7255-, but cuts off air at 0602*, so I check 7255 again, nope; by *0603, 9689.920 is back on. All three VON frequencies are always considerably off-frequency-minus. 7255 is often AWOL, but haven`t noticed 9690- in quite a while; should always be checked. QSL FROM Konstantin Barsenkov, St. Petersburg, Russia, TO WORLD OF RADIO he heard on WRMI 7780: https://www.w4uvh.net/RecRep%20WOR%20Jun.18-2020.jpg Now #91 via http://www.worldofradio.com/QSL.html With this message: ``Dear Mr. Glenn Hauser, My name is Konstantin Barsenkov, I am 45 years old, I was born and live in St. Petersburg, Russia. More than 25 years ago, one of my favourite hobbies was DX-ing (shortwave monitoring). In the 90s there was no Internet, letters were long, and international correspondence was quite expensive for a student. About four years ago I decided to try it again. And now I'm passionate about this hobby again. I still use my old Soviet military analog tube receiver R-250M2 (it's probably older than me and it weighs 90 kg!) with a long wire outdoor antenna. Today I was pleasantly surprised to hear my name in your program World of Radio. Earlier my message was published in the Anatoly Klepov's bulletin Russ-DX Plus#858 and it was about Chinese jumming of Sound of Hope. Actually, I don't know if you send any QSL, but I'll be very appreciated for your confirmation of the current reception report (perhaps letter or any picture by email) and thanks in advance!`` Very nice, but please note WOR as a program does not offer QSLs, leaving that to stations; only WRMI has a WOR-design QSL for reports sent to them of receptions on WRMI only. I forwarded his report (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 17775-, June 18 at 1425, KVOH is on and propagating but again just barely modulated (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0422 UT June 19 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A.
