Myanmar on shortwave, tiny signals |
|
Sunday, December 20 2020
![HCDX](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/dxnews.gif) MYANMAR checked Myanmar Radio SW last night, used the remote Perseus unit at New Delhi India.
My strong assumption regarding the Myanmar signal strength these days is, that only part of the power, for example 10 or 25 kilowatts, instead of 50 kW, is in use. The radio signals from Naypyidaw 5915 kHz and Pyin U Lwin 6165 kHz are that 'thin' these days. DBS#20 content:
5915 kHz Naypyidaw Minorities px: 2300-1700 UT in Kachin, Shan, Palan Chin, Mindat Chin, Rakhine, Wa and Kokang. 639 MW main px Pyin U Lwin: 0930-1430 Bamar, 1430-1500 E.
6165 kHz Thazin R, Pyin U Lwin Minorities px: 2330 Chin, 0030-0130 Kachin.7345 kHz Pyin U Lwin Minority px "Rakhine Broadcasting Station": 0930-1030 Kachim, 1030-1130 Pwo Kayin, 1130-1230 Sgaw, 1230-1330 Mo. 9590 kHz Pyin U Lwin Minorities px: 0130-0230 Wa, 0230-0330 Geba, 0430-0530 La, 0530-0630 Po, 0630-0730 Kayah, 0730-0830 Shan.
In Delhi India remote Perseus server access: 5914.982 MR Nay Pyi Daw, S=4-5 poor -91.7dBm at 01.20 UT on Dec 20. Similar tiny strength too on 6164.994 kHz from Pyin U Lwin at 01.24 UT.

WNJC 1360 Special Christmas DX Test TONIGHT--TONIGHT--TONIGHT |
|
Sunday, December 20 2020
![HCDX](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/dxnews.gif) The special Christmas themed material for tonight’s DX test is going to be fun—especially for those close enough to have easy copy of the test but there are also ’treats’ for even distant listeners. Who knows you might even get a message from the ‘Big Guy!’ Tune in!
SPECIAL WNJC 1360 CHRISTMAS DX TEST
The Courtesy Program Committee (CPC) of the NRC and IRCA wanted to get word out that WNJC 1360 Washington Township, NJ will be having a 2 all night DX tests. It's a Christmas miracle! :)
12/20 01:00 - 05:00 UTC Audio DX Test (.8kw) 12/20 05:00 - 11:00 UTC Audio DX Test (5kw) 12/21 01:00 - 05:00 UTC Audio DX Test (.8kw) 12/21 05:00 - 11:00 UTC Audio DX Test (5kw) The CPC has prepared special program content for the test, including Christmas themed jingles and liners, some “offbeat” or wacky Christmas songs, Morse Code, and Santa’s Sweep Tones. We can’t guarantee that WNJC will be the only station playing Christmas music on 1360 during the test, but I’ll take bets that they will be the only one playing Weird Al’s “Christmas at Ground Zero.” Reports can be sent to kc2dux@duxpond.com <mailto:kc2dux@duxpond.com> or for a QSL card sent at least a 4x6 SASE envelope too Duke Hamann, WNJC DX Test PO Box 84 Dennisville, NJ 08214 USA If you send a report by mail, please include a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE). Thanks to Duke Hamann and the owners of WNJC. Their extended maintenance has given us a rare opportunity to have multiple tests from the same station throughout a good portion of the DX season. 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf NRC & IRCA Courtesy Program Committee Chairman Member WTFDA, MWC Perseus SDR, Elad FDM-S2 SDR, AirSpy + Discovery, SDRPlay RSP-2 Pro, Sony XDR-F1HD [XDR Guy Modified], Dennon TU-1500RD, Sangean HDT-1X, Ray Dees RDS Decoders, Korner 9.2 Antenna, FM-6 Antenna, Kitz Technologies KT-501 Pre-amps, Quantum Phaser, Wellbrook ALA1530 Loop, Wellbrook Flag, Clifton Labs Active Whip. “Nothing but blues and Elvis, and somebody else’s favorite song…” _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
