Friday, March 20 2020
** AUSTRALIA. 11865, March 19 at 1325, S Asian song, 1330 RBA signing off until 1230 tomorrow. Per EiBi, the last quarter hour on Thursday would have been in Bengali (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHINA. 9215, March 19 at 1351, Asian language unseems Chinese, not like CNR1 or Sound of Hope, but those are the only listees (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11462, March 19 at 0513, 5-digit spy numbers in Spanish and digibursts, S9-S7; absolutely nothing audible broadcasting on 11 MHz band, at least on my indoor longwire. EiBi shows schedule on this frequency is Tu/Th/Sa 0454-0520 & 0854-0920 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 6125, March 20 at 0358, Radio Martí above wall-of-noise jamming plugging USG policy on immigration; 0359 QSY announcement, pronto en 5980, 6030 y 7435. What? 5980 does not start until 0600, and it better not now! adjacent WRMI NHK on 5985. 6030 is buried in jamming, really on 7355 instead of 5980, and also 7435, both VG with midnight music hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) see TURKEY ** KOREA NORTH [non]. 9705, March 19 at 1345, Japanese talk, VP. It`s Furusato no Kaze via TAIWAN (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO [and non]. Wolfgang Büschel reports: ``They have fixed the recent faulty transmitter in Mexico City D.F. now at 0210 UT on March 20 fine sound, heard canciones in Spanish language. 6184.992 kHz XEPPM and noted S=9+5dB signal in Cape Canaveral Florida remote SDR`` However, when I check 6185 at 0424, there`s a heavy SAH of about 6 Hz, with AWR Austria in Turkish; some music audible. After 0430 in clear at S9+10/20, music almost sufficient but still undermodulated compared e.g. to neighbor 6175 VOA Botswana (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 9395, March 19 at 1348, Brother Scare on WRMI has QRM from ute noise across both sides but slightly less with LSB tuning (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960, March 19 at 2302, I can tell VOT is on today! But too poor in storm noise level to copy. We can hardly wait another dekaday until A-20 with the usual lift to 9830 and a real UT hour earlier, so it will seem to remain at the same local time in the studio? Not any more, Turkey`s last year observing DST was 2016y, per timeanddate.com, but old habits die hard. 9830 should propagate better, but as always will confront that constant RTTY from NAU Puerto Rico, unless they turn it off by 2200. The other English to North America will again be at 0300 on 9515, ex-0400 on 6125; and also USward at 1230 on 15450 ex-12035 at 1330. 6125, March 20 at 0400, Radio Martí has just quit but jamming prolongs, with VOT English becoming detectable under but would still be tough without the jam (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2026 contents: Albania non, Antarctica, Argentina non, aUstralia, Bougainville, Chile, China, Cuba, Denmark, France, Germany non, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, *Iran, *Italy non, *Japan and non, Korea North & South, Kurdistan non, Kuwait, Malaysia, México, North America, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Russia, Spain, Taiwan non, Tibet, *UK, *USA, Vanuatu; propagation outlook * = with A20 sked info WOR 2026 is available as of 0014 UT Friday March 20 (mp3 stream) http://www.w4uvh.net/wor2026.m3u (mp3 download) http://www.w4uvh.net/wor2026.mp3 Or via http://www.worldofradio.com/audiomid.html Also linx to podcast services. UT Friday March 20 at 0100-0300, I monitor what every WRMI frequency is really doing, somewhat contrary to schedules, see http://www.tinyurl.com/WRMIfqs --- now that the Taiwan experiments have concluded; but will they be back? No info on sked for 9455 at this hour 9955, R. Praga in Spanish 0230: 5010, off 5800, R. Tirana, again after 0130 on two frequencies 5850, VORW rock music // 9395, not // 9455 5950, music, Oldies? SMTV supposed to run straight thru 01-08 UT 7570 & 7730, Brother Scare 7780, English Service of Ukrainian Radio, YL reading long folk tale about animals, with bits of music, to be continued; OK via UTwente 9395, VORW rock music // 5850, not // 9455 9455, music seems Oldies; no info on sked. Not // 5950 9955, unknown under pulse jamming; higher frequencies fading [Eslovaquia escheduled] NOTE: RAE in Spanish is still nowhere to be found, despite schedule (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 7225-AM, March 19 at 1314, open carrier off at 1315*. Only broadcaster would be PBS Sichuan in Tibetan, but supposed to span long before and after this hour. Maybe just a hAM, who are normally LSB reserving top end below 7300 for AM diversions (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0445 UT March 20 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

BTW, Radio Educación has much more important matters on its mind: holding on to MW 1060 after migration to FM is complete; seems 100 kW on MW has better coverage than FM. Sent: Thursday, March 19, 2020 4:54 AM Subject: [WOR] Glenn Hauser log roundup March 12-19, 2020** CUBA. 6000, March 12 at 0014, RHC is S9+20 but JBM and suptorted in English, also some Spanish crosstalk; then English mod faded up a bit, and it`s // clear undermodulated English on 6145, S9+20. Last night RHC seemed to be starting the two English frequencies around 0100 but tonight evidently they are trying for 0000. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6010v, March 12 at 0020, trying for COLOMBIA, I have a JBA signal which is wobbling, perhaps caused by Doppler flutter, or two stations slightly apart beating, one of them unstable. A slight peak sounds like Chinese; or is it Spanish? Not Portuguese. Nothing else is scheduled at this time but BRAZIL. Then I remember a previous finding: another Cuban leapfrog mixing product of 5990 over 6000 another 10 kHz beyond. At 0035 on second radio I can CONFIRM // audio 6010 and 5990, so that`s exactly what it is now. The fulcrum RHC frequency 6000 has to be on air at same time, and so it is tonight with undermodulated English. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2025) ** CUBA. 13780, March 12 at 1352, RHC here ex-13740; change or mistake? Have used 13780 before; no obvious reason to move back and forth. By 1437, 13780 is off. Still on 13700, spurless. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, March 12 at 2255, RHC in Brazuguese, and 2300 into English. Finally four days after the imposition of yanqui-inspired DST, RHC have found this transmission, moved one UT hour *later* instead of logical earlier, ex-2200. Now probably at 2200 is French ex-2100. 11880 was back on air yesterday but in Spanish before and after 2300. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, still off the air March 13 at 2120 & 2155, but *2200 RHC on weakly direct in French. Via Bogotá KiwiSDR, in Portuguese before 2300, 2300 switch to English, first item about someone killed near the RHC studios. Sufficient but not super reception, while // 5040 is not making it there at all. Somethng`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 13780, March 14 at 1343, RHC again here ex-13740 and // much stronger 13700. By 1417, 13780 is still on with noisy dead air. 13756.580, March 14 at 1419, RHC spur VP. Not like the loud FM/AM spurblobs sporadically out of 13700, rather clearly audible in AM mode and precisely measurable with BFO; also is 56.58 kHz displaced, rather than 66-70 kHz. I look for a match on the minus side and find a JBA carrier on 13644.53, but calculated spot would be 13643.42 so maybe that`s just a birdie. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15370, March 14 at 2015, RHC S9+20 in distorted Brazuguese, while 15140 is in French. Both these had been scheduled at 2100-2130, so bumped one real hour earlier. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 17480, March 14 at 2247, 5-digit spy numbers alternating with digibeepery, S1-S4 and nothing higher on the 17 or 18 MHz bands (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6000, March 15 at 0543, RHC English JBM with crackle; 6060 VG S9+10/20; 6100 S9+10 undermodulated; 6145 VP S7-S9; 5040 S9+10/20 and distorted. Something`s always wrong at RHC(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, March 17 at 1529, RHC S9+20, distorted and hummy as usual. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15370, March 17 at 1936, RHC S9/+10 of dead air except for some hum. Wiggle that patchcord. Something`s always wrong at RHC. Recheck at 2114, now in Spanish, big hum still at S9+35 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, March 17 at 2300, RHC starting English // much weaker 5040; as they now seem certain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6145, March 18 at 0024, S9+20 of dead air from RHC -- so are they attempting to start English at 0000? But at 0026, 6000 is JBM in Spanish // much stronger 6060. Something`s always wrong at RHC. At 0129, both 6145 and 6000 feature Arnie Coro and both undermodulated so impossible to make out what he is mumbling (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15700, March 18 at 1555, CRI relay is undermodulated with hum, tone and crackle, otherwise excellent. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15370, March 18 at 1930, RHC still not on here, but later with distortion (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
