``RE: Trenton a waste --- Hi Glenn, I am suspecting they are going
through "growing pains". MACS, along with all other Canadian Armed
Forces (CAF) strategic HF stations, are scheduled for technology
upgrades.

What I have recently noticed on a few occasions is the VOLMET audio
feed being transmitted on 11232.0 kHz USB for a short duration. I am
suspecting that there are growing pains with the switch matrix. There
are several switch matrices at MACS which routes control/data, audio
etc --- from the receivers and transmitters to the various sites and
antennae.

What I have also noticed are regular system checks, "This is Trenton
Military testing 1 2 3 3 2 1 test out". This leads one to believe that
there is a lack of confidence in the way the sites are operating, thus
necessitating the system confidence check.

I have also noticed within the last few weeks that HFGCS is going
through some pain as well. Lots of "no response" to radio checks and
check-ins. There also appears to be some new digital audio links which
I have now heard fail on several occasions, including this past
weekend, rendering the system from that site completely unserviceable.
There is something to be said about the old fashion analogue

382 kHz. SP is located in Springfield, IL, not Greenland. The call
sign of the Greenland NDB is SF. Besides YPL and SF, the only NDBs on
382 kHz with sidebands around 400 Hz from the carrier frequency are BT
in Burlington, VT and YE in Fort Nelson, BC. YE was scheduled for
decommissioning last August but was reported still transmitting on
February 1, 2024. IRS in Sturgis, MI gets out very well but its

timings 0700 & 1500! I.e. from the start of DST March 10 which is
still winter, not even spring! As the running dog of Yanqui
Imperialism matches USA nonsense. The third broadcast has been

UNIDENTIFIED. 382 MCW kHz, Feb 4 at 0806, almost continuous beepery,
must be at least two NDBs mixing. Usual occupant is YPL in Ont; a few
in US like two in IL, but more intriguing would be Greenland, México,
Trinidad and Réunion listed at dxinfocentre.com However, RNA shows no
Réunion; México and Trinidad not logged for years. Pitch of SP
Greenland & YPL are about the same ~400 Hz, while most of the others
are slightly above 1000 Hz, and if I were getting a mixture, they were

earlier, LRA36 back with another broadcast, JBA S5/S6 = local noise
level direct, but S9/+10 into Argentine SDR - soon all four rx are
tuned to this and I get one of them. 2308 about history of base. 2310
the `Antártida` song we haven`t heard for a while; 2314 ``en vivo``,
``haciendo soberanía`` and then long interview about scientific
research, military involvement. Staking out Arg. ``sovereignty`` over
Antarctica is the real reason for all this, contrary to
``international continent`` treaties. 0010 Feb 4 still going asserting
it`s the first program of 2024. Wonder if this will be regular time
instead of 18-24+ UT Sats. Again I do detect the JBA reduced carrier
by USB stepping-down tuning, as someone else was doing before I
inherited the rx. Also wonder if the eventual new 10 kW will too. 0013
chops off air during music. 0015.5 comes back during music after a
false start; 0016 another ``haciendo soberanía`` ID, more gab. At 0019
I compare the pitch of the RC when tuned to 15475.50 USB vs 15476.50
LSB - and it is lower on the upper side, indicating the RC is slightly
above 15476 instead of below; and taking into account a slight
correxion factor when tuned to 15000.000 WWV. 0028 they say the new 10
kW transmitter will be solid-state and will build a different antenna

presumably R. Rebelde programming, into distorted music, S9+20.

mixing product of 5890 over 5935 another 45 kHz higher, which is S9
stronger than usual. At least Cuba tries to block it, hi,
inadvertently since the jamming is leftover originally against
long-abandoned R. Martí frequency. The mix overnight possible only on
weekends when 5890 be active. On inside randomwire due to T-storms

midday frequencies. Something`s always wrong at RHC. Both also off

related to radio. UT Saturday February 3 at 0525, my chair shakes
briefly. Altho there is a thunderstorm too, this timing does not
