** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey in full continuous bandscan down from 19 to 10 MHz, Aug 24 from 2331 to 2340: 16160 JBA fluttery carrier vs CODAR; 16100 same; 15970 slightly stronger JBA; 15760 Chinese S0/S2; 15360 Chinese? S2/S4; 14920 S2/S3 flutter, 13130 JBA carrier. All of these correlate with jammers against Sound of Hope, in Aoki/NDXC.
15600, Aug 24 at 2334, S0/S2 music with flutter during CNR1 jammer survey. This one is CRI in ``Portuguese`` via Beijing site, so should match Cuban relay on 13650 music-only with much better signal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** FRANCE. 21690, Aug 24 at 1546, JBA via RSA remote, RFI hour in Swahili, which for S-21, from Sept 5, is moving on up to 25775. Should be a useful MUF pilot even off the back to NAm, 500 kW more than a Danish experiment (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. From: Radio Insight (2021-08-04) via Steve Whitt, UK, MW News Editor https://radioinsight.com/headlines/211372/kfaq-tulsa-to-flip-to-sports/ ``Griffin Communications will flip News/Talk “TalkRadio 1170” KFAQ Tulsa to Sports “The Blitz” on Monday, August 23. The new format will be led by Jeremie ‘Pop’ Poplin, who has served as Program Director and 10am-12pm host on KFAQ since February 2020. Poplin previously programmed and hosted afternoons at iHeartMedia Sports “1430 The Buzz” KTBZ and “1300 The Buzz” KAKC Tulsa. Poplin tweeted that the Blitz will feature local programming from 6am to 6pm, but has not disclosed what that will entail. KFAQ will continue to serve as the Tulsa affiliate for Oklahoma State University sports and Jenks High School football. The “Blitz” name comes from the weekly “Oklahoma Sports Blitz” that airs on Griffin’s CBS television affiliates KWTV Oklahoma City and KOTV Tulsa on Sunday evenings. [….]`` So will 1300 and/or 1430 be flipping away from stupid ballgames? KFAQ is still running IBOC noise vs KSL 1160 and whatever on 1180. Maybe will still be `C2CAM` overnight? Glenn, Enid On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, 11:17:44 AM GMT+1, Mauno_Ritola, Finland, asked: ``Was this cancelled or postponed? Just heard this via Kansas KiwiSDR: Thanks, Mauno`` [i.e. Talk Radio slogan still] Re: [WOR] KFAQ 1170 Tulsa flipping from talk to sports Aug 24 at 0626 UT, I am still hearing `C2CAM` on KFAQ. 0633 joint ID for HD2 on KHTT 106.9 Muskogee. Aug 24 at 1520 UT, woman talking about Olympix history, sports or not? No, 1525 that`s on syndicated show, `Our American Stories`, then ``Talk Radio 1170`` ID and local ads, referring to http://www.talkradio1170.com/ which is still very much alive with listen link. Cursorily I don`t see anything about a format change there. Next topic after 1532 is Cuban revolution. Odd time for `OAS`, usually appearing as overnight filler. Own schedule has it but not at this time: http://www.talkradio1170.com/story/5fad99bf8b141111c23d0b53/weekdays-line-up so evidently filling in for whatever. Still in transition? In fact as the RI story says, Pop Poplin himself is supposed to be on already during this bihour per the sked (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 1210 kHz, Aug 24 at 0635 UT, S9/+10 from KGYN Guymon, apparently as often, not on night pattern protecting Philadelphia: ``The Big Talker, KGYN 1210 & 106.3, for the Five States``. How modest; even on proper night pattern they cover a lot more than 5; but who cares about skywave? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U K. 11253-USB, Aug 24 at 2343, VOLMET by RoboYL, VP and can`t copy locations but the one here is RAF. EiBi keys the ``ic`` site as: ``ic-one of: Inskip (Lancashire) 53N50-02W50 / St.Eval (Cornwall) 50N29-05W00 / Crimond (Aberdeenshire) 57N37-01W53`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. ** CHINA. 10960, Aug 23 at 1351, CNR1 jammer in Chinese at S4-S6, only one audible in the 10s-11s or 12s-13s (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 4747 & 4783 approx., Aug 24 at 0035, scratchy matching spurs 17/18 kHz both sides of 4765, R. Progreso; barely audible vs storm noise level, lower one also QRMing CODAR. An undated item in disgraced FB via SW Bulletin refers to RP being off the air ``this evening`` for maintenance. Maybe that was UT Aug 11 when I found 4765 missing as were the spurs. But now it`s clear they did not fix them and may well not even know about them. Stations do not read my monitoring at their own risks (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 15520, Aug 23 at 2201, REE is *still* diffusing dead air on its Mideast transmitter, S6-S7 into Maryland SDR, while the other three are nominal with token English on Monday, 17855, 11940, 11670. 15520 DA first noticed Aug 15, and ever since whenever checked. Something`s always nonsensical at Noblejas. Claudio Galaz, Chile also reported 15520 as ``portadora`` = carrier only, Aug 22 at 2036. Stations do not read my own monitoring at their own risks (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, Aug 23 at 2201, no signal from VOT English into Maryland SDR; but recheck 2232, now it`s on with music at S9+10/20, unknown how late it came on. Stations do not read my own monitoring at their own risks. 2237 the multilingual ID reel, always a good 2-minute filler. After some IS iterations, off at 2254.7*. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2100 monitoring: confirmed Sunday August 22 at 2010 the 2000 on IRRS SW via Italia AM, 918 kHz, S9+22 into Noale SDR. Also confirmed Sun Aug 22 at 2230 on WRMI 9955, S9+5 into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed UT Mon Aug 23 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG direct. Also confirmed UT Mon Aug 23 at 0130 on WRN N American webcast. Also confirmed UT Mon Aug 23 at 0230 on WRMIs 7780, S9+15 and 5800, S8/S9, the lower with storm crashes, into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed UT Mon Aug 23 from 0301 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160 minus 54 Hz, S9 into Maryland remote; but with ACI from 6165 Cuba even when tuned in LSB. Recheck at 0320, 6160 is OFF THE AIR! WOR continues on A51 webcast. I leave SDreceiver running on 6160, and WBCQ does not pop back on air until *0415 with Brother HyStairical, so HRI was also missed. Meanwhile, 9330-, 7490- and 4790- the other BCQs remained on air, but not 3265. Next WOR airings, no more Monday nor Tuesday, but: 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support; via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1090, Aug 20 at 0600 UT, during the KAAY deadair, besides the Fox Sports affiliate, believed WAQE Wisconsin, I neglected to say that I also heard Baltimore mentioned, so perhaps WBAL. Of course, all other 1090s should be forbidden ever to mention Baltimore, to facilitate presumed IDing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1150, Aug 23 at 0636 UT, C2CAM via dominant KSAL Salina KS, also with a quick reverb/echo indicating a second station with it. No longer doing that during a local? commercial, but no sign of any other audio now. C2CAM affiliate list shows seven others on 1150, in WI, LA, FL, OR, OH, MO and WA. Closests would be KRMS Osage Beach MO, and WJBO Bâton Rouge LA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 10840.45-USB, approx., Aug 23 at 1353, JBA 2-way unseems Spanish, maybe Tagalog or Indonesian (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0057 UT August 24 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
