Glenn Hauser logs November 24-25, 2020 |
|
Wednesday, November 25 2020
** ARMENIA. 9290, Nov 24 at 1355 past 1400 with no break, S Asian language at S6-S9. Still there but weaker at 1417 vs running-H2O QRM. It`s TWR-India via Gavar, in Hindi daily 1345-1415, amid a total span of 1315-1445 in various languages. Aoki/NDXC shows Hindi until 1420 on weekdays, otherwise English until 1425*, extended to 1445* weekends (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** BRAZIL. UNIDENTIFIED. 4925, Nov 25 at 0217, JBA talk, equivalent VP signal to S Americans on 4940, 4885. Only 4925 in EiBi is Korean numbers not at this hour but if on would not be propagating. WRTH 2020 has 5 kW Rádio Rural, Tefé, Amazonas, Brasil as irregular. Aoki/NDXC shows 0930-0200 as if regular. Not reported lately, but found this from JRX in Brasil: ``4925. Apr 15, 2020. 0313-0333, Rádio Educação Rural de Tefé, Tefé-AM, in Portuguese. A musical program with variety songs; Female voice; A song; Male voice, ID and announcements; 0331 A song; 0333 Ends and sign-off. Poor reception.`` I don`t get around to checking TWR Bonaire SDR for this until 0333 --- nothing there (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. CNR1 jammer search WOOB November 24 at 1346: JBA Chinese or JBA carriers: 11500, 11460, 11440, 11150, 11100, 10870; none in the 14s, 13s, 12s; 9315, 9300, 9180 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11850, Nov 24 at 2205, RHC is dead air, then ramps up to JBM Spanish, perhaps a typical sign-on warmup, only S4-S7 as is English on 11880. Something`s always wrong at RHC. But recheck at 2348, 11850 is off. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9700, Nov 25 at 0222, RHC English is S5-S7, undermodulated, unusable. Only //, 6000 is even worse, S9/+10 and JBM. Somethings are always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6924.884-AM, Nov 25 at 0223, VP S7-S8 music, only pirate activity now; 0232 brief announcement, more music, LA? 0253 still going, at 0254 into MCW, but fading and only partially copiable and perhaps with errors; ``CA - OA - OIAEN - ZAN - ORA - ABEC``, until 0258*. Thought it might be Nova, which does CW IDs, but no fit. KIPM was reported on ``6925`` as late as 0130, but in USB: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,74782.0.html Stardust Five Laser Radio was on 6925-AM, but not since 2158 Nov 24: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,74777.0.html I was hoping someone on HFU would have IDed this and/or copied the code. Nor any old hits there on the exacter frequency 6924.9 -- but I had such a log last Feb, which led back to Captain Morgan SW in May 2017 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** PANAMA. 18146.8-USB, Nov 24 at 2155, HP3SS working US stations, at 30 miles from Costa Rican border in western Panamá. Sounds like an American --- no, Canadian, without a specific address in QRZ.com: ``HP3SS Panama flag Panama, Robby Robertson, Volcan, Panama. QSL: via AC2OV`` and: ``Please do not send mail to Panama. I will not recieve it. Please do not QSL via buro. I do not recieve cards from the QSL buro. I have been living in Panama since October 2015. I operated as HP3/VY2SS for a year while I waited for my Panama call. I enjoy contesting and DX. My equipment is: Flex 6400 and Ameritron AL-1200. Antennas are: 20M-6M - 3 element Steppir yagi at 75 feet. Please QSL direct to AC2OV with SAE and sufficient return postage. Previous calls - VY2SS, CY9SS, VE2/VY2SS, VE7ARS, VE8HF, VE3FYB, VE1AGN``. BTW, in my daytime bandscans between the ham and bc bands, I routinely tune across the 17.9+ MHz aero band --- and *never* encounter any activity. EiBi lists a number of stations around the world available 24 hours, starting with Albrook, Panamá on 17901. Maybe the aeronauts are writing off this band as dead even when it isn`t (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 414-MCW kHz, Nov 24 at 0708 UT, ND beacon ATS, which is 25 watts from ArTeSia, New Mexico; also audible tuned to 412-USB. Last logged Oct 6 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 21250-USB, Nov 24 at 1859, WW2DX calling CQDX 15, good signal yet the OSOB; what a desirable vanity callsign: ``WW2DX USA flag USA, Lee J Imber, Pawling, NY 12564 USA``. Per QRZ.com he`s quite the DX-peditioner, including Sable Island postponed from Oct 2020 to Oct 2021 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2061 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday November 24 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, VG S9+15/20 via UTwente; at 0121 check direct, poor S8-S9. Also confirmed UT Tue Nov 24 at new time 0200 on WRMI 9955, S9+10 direct. Also confirmed UT Tue Nov 24 at 0330 on WRMI 5800, S9+10/20 direct. Next: 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 2300 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 to SSE 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Or via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to: woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. I neglected to include the time of UB`s TG special, fixed: (7490.1v), UT Tue Nov 24 from 0000, WBCQ webcast cuts off some wacko conspiracy talk for 50% of `Uncle Bill`s Melting Pot`, replay from 25 hours ago when it all aired; starting with a scrotum song, but we have been warned. Also plugs his TG special UT Fri Nov 27 *at 0300-0400* on 6160v & 7490v. I often catch this semi-repeat due to a scheduling conflict the day before (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085, Nov 25 at 0215, WTWW-2 is S9+30 with request request, not so distorted as the music before and after it, tsk2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 10533-USB, Nov 24 at 1348, 2-way in language, maybe Indonesian, as I am patrolling for CNR1 jammers (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0418 UT November 25 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Glenn Hauser logs November 22-23-24, 2020 |
|
Tuesday, November 24 2020
** CANADA. 284-MCW kHz, Nov 23 at 0719 UT, dash and QD, 500 watts from The Pas, Manitoba. Evidently the name is not Anglo-French; The Canadian Encyclopedia says: ``The origin of the name is uncertain, but it may be the Cree word W'passkwayaw, meaning “wooded narrows” (in the river) ... The Pas Band (now the Opaskwayak Cree Nation) surrendered the townsite in 1906 and moved to reserve lands on the north bank of the Saskatchewan River. Jun 11, 2019``. Well, cutting it to three letters is a whew goodthing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** COLOMBIA? 4940, Nov 23 at 0311, quick check of Bonaire SDR finds usual good signal of gospel huxter in Spanish from anonymous mystery missionary station -- AMMS? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 9535, Nov 22 at 2327, RHC JBA under multiple collision, Commies vs Commies: Aoki/NDXC shows CNR1 jamming, RFA Tibetan via Kuwait; and also CRI English via Kunming. In fact seems to be an echo on the Chinese from more than one site. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 6145, Nov 23 at 0312, no RHC English signal, at Bonaire remote, while 9700 is JBA, 6000 S8. To Missouri SDR, 9700 is VG S9+10, no 6145, and 6000 is S9+30 but JBM distorted --- must be `DXers Unlimited` minus Arnie as his sub talks about propagation. Another check at 0525: 9700 is on over CCI which would be Turkey; 6100 and 6060 are absent; 6000 suptorted; 6145 in Romanian which must be RRI, perhaps explaining why RHC evacuated tho I had not noticed this hour collision before. By 0608, 6100 is finally on, VG S9+30/40, so starting at 0600? Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, Nov 23 at 2111, RHC in French also reactivated and // synchronized 15140 distorted; 13680 now in Portuguese poor at S8-S9. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KUWAIT. 15540, 15530, 11970, Nov 23 from 1800, no signals from anything on R. Kuwait frequencies. Pedro Sedano, Spain, had recorded the 0800 UT sign-off announcement on 15530 saying that was on 11970 and English would resume at 1800-2100 on 15540 for Europe and North America --- altho morning English recently resumed replacing Arabic, still no evening English, unless on and not propagating, but I doubt that, rather a very old recorded outdated announcement. But perhaps there be hope. That transmission presumably still exist at least on FM & AM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MADAGASCAR. 11610, Nov 23 at 2145, MWV in correct language, Chinese, always VG >> 4.000 MHz higher, 15610 WEWN English; other MWV frequency 9765 in correct Portuguese altho the final praise song sounds Spanish until 2157 dead air with no closure (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO [and non]. 6185-, Nov 22 at 2319, XEPPM is S9, as always undermodulated, but now also with CCI, Chinese? No, per Aoki/NDXC, CRI in Mongolian this hour via Xianyang 59 site. Mexico`s last SW station don`t get no respect, as Ivo Ivanov also notes: ``Upcoming frequency change of NHK World Radio Japan via MBR Moosbrunn, Austria, ex-6155 from Nov 30: 0430-0500 NF 6185*MOS 300 kW / non-dir to WeEu English Mon-Fri 0500-0530 NF 6185*MOS 300 kW / non-dir to WeEu English Sat/Sun 0400-0430 on 6185*MOS 300 kW / 115 deg to N/ME Turkish Daily AWR *bad news for 6185 MEX 001 kW / non-dir to CeAm Spanish Daily XEPPM Radio Educacion!`` Per Aoki/NDXC other 6185 obstacles: China Huayi from 0915, VOK from 1000, and Vatican in Chinese until 2230 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, Nov 23 at 0605, no signal from VON (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6950.9-AM, Nov 22 at 2312, JBA music at S6 = QRN level. Insane Radio as reported here much better: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,74716.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 274-MCW kHz, Nov 23 at 0718 UT, ND beacon RG, which is 25 watts from Red WinG, Minnesota, a.k.a. Shoe City; and not to be confused with our RG on 350 in OKC. I was tuned to 272-USB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2061 monitoring: missed checking UT Mon Nov 23 at 0030 on WRMI 7730; did anyone hear it? Confirmed UT Mon Nov 23 at 0130 on WRMI 7780, G S9+10 at UTwente. Also confirmed UT Mon Nov 23 at 0230 on WRMI 7780, S8-S9 at UTwente; also on 5800, S9+25 into Pardinho, Brasil SDR; also almost synchronized on WRN webcast. Also confirmed UT Mon Nov 23 at 0400 on Area 51 webcast, after a Miller Beer commercial(?); but on WBCQ 6159.9 direct at 0427, JBA vs HNL = high noise level. Also confirmed UT Mon Nov 23 at 0430 on WRMI 9955, good S9+10/20/30 direct, as usual right after 2+ minutes of music fill from R. Prague relay, no ID break. No pulse jamming? Only audible during some RMI fades; still at good level toward end of semi-hour. You never know whether this transmission will be VG or JBA. Also confirmed Mon Nov 23 from 1901 on IRRS 7290 via Bulgaria, recorded via UTwente and checked later: *1857.5 carrier on quieting but still with annoying ACI splash continuing during WOR; almost 1900 IRRS sign-on with Milano PO Box and phone, 3 quick FSN headlines and then WOR: spotchecked intact for next 13 minutes at least. Next: 0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE 0200 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?] NEW 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 5800 to SSE 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 2300 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 to SSE 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Or via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to: woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5850, Nov 22 at 2314, Brother HyStairical is VP, only S6-S7, hard to believe it`s WRMI on NW beam which normally blasts in here. It`s as weak or even weaker than never-strong 5950 to WNW. Can`t be propagation, since 5800 WRMI is VG S9+25/30 with SMTV despite aimed SSE from FL. 5850 must be temporarily QRP, and is back up to full strength checked a few hours later (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7490.1v), UT Tue Nov 24 from 0000, WBCQ webcast cuts off some wacko conspiracy talk for 50% of `Uncle Bill`s Melting Pot`, replay from 25 hours ago when it all aired; starting with a scrotum song, but we have been warned. Also plugs his TG special UT Fri Nov 27 on 6160v & 7490v. I often catch this semi-repeat due to a scheduling conflict the day before (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VENEZUELA. 6906, Nov 23 at 0311, quick check of Bonaire SDR finds still no trace of an ROCV signal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0029 UT November 24 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
