If I understand this correctly, and this is based on remote SDR use, a few things need to be said as regards
using those for a reporting tool:
1.   As a programmer, I use remote websdr monitoring myself to supplement reception reports from listeners, but I am also very much aware of their limitations - they are not magical and are subject to some of the same localized issues as regular radios at times.   For example, I have had occasions when something sounds like mush on one of the best and most popular web sdrs, UTwente, while up the road in the Netherlands and Belgium, things are just fine.  Doesn't happen often, but it happens.  And there are a few web SDRs I will not name in other countries that are consistently as useless for the frequencies I want as badly configured terrestrial radio-antenna combinations.  Not everyone minds the store on these, nor do they have any obligation to do so.  Long story short, while the presence of a listenable signal confirms that a broadcast is receivable in a place, the absence of it on a web SDR is NOT conclusive proof that the signal is not.   Evidence, yes, but not proof.
2.   For the US specifically, the US is a big place.  Even in the "golden days", signals receivable in New England were not necessarily good in Florida or vice versa.   In order to be of any use at all, reports using websdrs in the US especially  really need to specify which SDRs in which states.  This is true for any country but especially so for big ones.    Even with that, the fact that something is not tracking in New York City does not mean that it is unreceivable in upstate New York.   Again, these are useful to confirm presence but not necessarily conclusive for absence - the latter takes time and diligence and ideally reports from scattered monitors on the ground.

I'm not trying to be critical here, but I am seeing websdr reports turn up more frequently.   These can be useful if and only if their limitations are remembered and accounted for when using them to make observations.

Glenn Hauser logs September 11-12, 2020  View Printable Version
Saturday, September 12 2020

Logs
** BRAZIL. 11780, Sept 11 at 2225, RNA is S7-S8 but sup-torted
modulation as usual; why bother to broadcast? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIA. 4940, Sept 12 at 0053, anonymous missionary station is on
tonight with S6-S9 signal into TWR Bonaire SDR, amid English! Or
rather sermon with consecutive Spanish translation, occasional
clapping congregation. Heard Pastor Stendal mentioned, but is this
him? Sounds very much like acting president Drumpf; from the same
benighted Queens barrio? A Brother Allen/Allan/Alyn/Alyn/Alan
mentioned later as runs past 0100 with no break. 0108 about testimony
on a mission trip. 0118 retune, bit of music, and back to studio with
the long-winded predicador heard previous nights only in Spanish ---
no native languages---, citing Isaiah XVII. Retune at 0150, signal has
faded way down to S5-S6 vs storm noise level. There`s a tiny one on
the Carib coast of Colombia, but lots further circa Nicaragua,
Yucatán, Cuba, per Blitzortung (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11800, Sept 11 at 2224, RHC is S8-S9 but JBM; even less so
the parasitic spurs 11790/11810. Something`s always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 4765, Sept 12 at 0142, R. Progreso is finally back on with
music. Have not checked absolutely every night, but had been missing
ever since at least August 25, i.e. 17 days. Something`s always wrong
at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 11940, 9690 & 12030, Fri Sept 11 at 2223, REE English
succeeds but Justin Coe is presenting some jazz eulogizing Bryant Park
in NYC --- what`s that to do with Spain?! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830v, Sept 11 at 2222, VOT English to us is on but with
music buried under NSS RTTY (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2051 monitoring: confirmed Friday
September 11 at 2200 on WRMI 9955, S9+30/35 so jamming under is almost
inaudible.

NOT confirmed UT Saturday September 12 at 0130 on WRMI 9955, as
something else has replaced without notice, gospel huxtress in
English. Skedgrid shows `Circuit Rider` with a different 15-minute
program each weekday, plugged in at various times. Might also bump
some Vivas Miamis filling quarter-hour ATS, haven`t investigated. BUT
WOR is still on 7780 at this time, VG to Maine SDR, but only clickbuzz
at UTwente, local problem? Next:

Thanks this week for financial support from Robert W Gruska,
Glendale NY, who has been contributing periodically since at
least 2009; a PMO to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702;
if by check please in US funds on a US bank.

Financial support may alternatively be sent via PayPal to
woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily US funds as PP will convert
(Glenn Hauser, OK WOR)

** U S A. 7490, Fri Sept 11 at 2215, WBCQ sounds like drama, old tyme
radio? 6160v not on yet for that to start at 2300. Guess it is as
scheduled at 2200 Fri on 7490v, ``Challenge Ministries``. BTW
equivalent times on sked are still labeled ``EST`` while they are
really EDT. Those are NOT THE SAME! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7490v, 5130, 6160v, UT Sat Sept 12 at 0000, WBCQ starting
`AAAWWW`, in that order as they are not synchronized and I hear the
WTO starting over and over as I tune from one to another. Final
interjexion in the theme is ``flummoxed``. 0001 recheck of 6159.9
finds it reverted to some old jazz, but soon back to AW and I keep
listening there for somewhat better reception than 7490, and 5130
unusable. He starts saying they have two rules: ``don`t steal and
don`t lie`` --- yet some stuff was stolen this week but miraculously
returned; has been a stressful week, like Peyton Place [an old steamy
soap opera, I think: I never watched it]. 0011 says there is no audio
on 6 or 5 MHz --- yes, there is, I am listening on 6. AW claims he
avoids discussing politix with friends and family he knows he is not
going to persuade --- [but We the Audience are neither!] 0013 call
from Andrew about something. It`s Sept 11, YOOL 2020, anniversary of
you know what. Then they`re both into vicious political ranting:
Hillary should be in jail! Angela yells; yet at each opening he
persuades her to get closer to the mike. Don`t blame the cops or
defund them for killing George Floyd --- he died later! Blames George
Soros for paying rioters = Democrats = communists. I can`t take any
more and tune out at 0036. Just as well, as I remember it`s time to
check 4940 for Colombia, q.v. Unfortunately(?) John Carver`s computer
broke again so no report from him this week (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIA [and non]. 4939.971, not 4939.71 --- as I suspected,
Brandon`s carrier presumed Perú left out a 9 as Wolfgang Bueschel
measured it on 4939.971, and that closely matches the SAH of about 25

0121 direct. WB:

``4939.995 1/2 kHz measured in Edmonton at 0059 UT on Sept 11, only

bumped up power some more, further-audiblizing itself (Glenn Hauser,

TIPS FOR RATIONAL LIVING

COLUMN: On Patriot Day, let us embrace true patriotism
James Neal | Enid News & Eagle | Reflexions with Purpose

...Terrorists could bring down buildings, but they could not touch
what America really is — an ethos of liberty and justice, an ideal
imperfectly pursued over more than two centuries. Only we could do
that. Only we could deviate from and destroy our birthright. And since
Sept. 11, 2001, we’ve been hard at it.

No terrorist could make America abandon its core principles of
individual liberty, due process and privacy. But, we did it to
ourselves in the inaptly named USA PATRIOT Act...

VIETNAM [and non]. My observations last few days of VOV missing
from WHRI 7315 relays including English at 0000 --- nor any Spanish at
0046 Sept 9 --- are now explained by Jeff White on this week`s AWR
Wavescan, after quoting one of my previous logs of it wondering
whether that would continue under WBCQ ownership:

``We have information that Voice of Vietnam relays from South
Carolina, WHRI are going to be discontinued, most likely, as the
station is planning to probably eliminate its shortwave broadcasts
altogether, and it may do shortwave [sic] broadcasts to the United
States via some local AM and FM stations``

This presumably comes from recent virtual-only B-20 HFCC conference.

See whether any other broadcasts remain? WRTH A-20 English update

0000-0030 daily NAm 7315hri

2330-2400 daily As 9840vni, 12020vni

"12020" is particularly interesting, as we know it`s constantly way
off-frequency about 12018.9. From Aoki/NDXC its complete schedule is
now shown:

12019 1000-1030 VTN VOICE OF VIETNAM Eng Hanoi-Sonta 1-7
12019 1030-1100 VTN VOICE OF VIETNAM Ind Hanoi-Sonta 1-7

12019 2330-2400 VTN x VOICE OF VIETNAM Eng Hanoi-Sonta 1-7

The x is not keyed but I think means deleted or no longer heard.

After 2300 UT Sept 8 via remote in S Korea, no signals heard on 12019
or 9840 --- axually that too was always off-frequency-minus.
(Glenn Hauser, OK)

UNIDENTIFIED. 4940, Sept 9 at 0058, music is JBA maybe S7 between high
storm noise level [HSNL] crashes, so looks worth checking on TWR
Bonaire SDR: yes, like 3 nights ago, but not 1 or 2 nights ago, good
S8-S9 and soon into monolog by preacher in Spanish, starts saying he
is quarantined, right into biblical references. He keeps going with no
breaks past 0200, but his background noise surges whenever he pauses
even briefly: turn off the AVC!

We really need an ID or at least some clue where this is coming from,
so I keep half-listening until 0205 when that SDR bumps me off, but
MEGO, altho near 100% readable, I am *not* going to pay rapt attention
to this long-winded gospel huxter. Then try other SDRs: no good at DR,
Boa Vista, Pardinho, Santiago; and Bogotá won`t work. 0237 try Bonaire
again and get back on as he is *still* going, mentions Coronavirus,
etc., a bit weaker at S6-S7.

At 0259 suddenly stops sermonizing, NO ID!!! But over to YL plugging
the lamontanacolombia.com website again, some credits, and then starts
narrating `Capítulo 12` of something, mentioning ``Narnia`` several
times; hmmm? Back on at 0346; still going with dialog. Enough for now,
but it might keep going late into the night or all-night.

See my previous discussion under PERU or unID: it could be Christian
station Radio San Antonio, Perú, or something new established by
Ethnic Radio to evangelize natives in Colombia, Venezuela; but all in
Spanish so far, testing? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

4939.995 1/2 kHz measured in Edmonton at 00.59 UT on Sept 11,
only S=5-6 -94dBm poor and tiny signal in Canada, Spanish recogniced.
4939.971 next adjacent likely R San Antonio Peru ? similar poor signal

Next door 4985even kHz RTTY high speed signal of US NSS Navy UTE signal,
840 Hertz apart distance RTTY peaks, S=9+20dB in Alberta rx.
