Glenn Hauser logs October 10-11, 2020  View Printable Version
Sunday, October 11 2020

Logs
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-CUSB, Oct 10 at 1715, continuing previous
report of LRA36 Saturday special, still going with improved signal via
Brasil KiwiSDR, but at this time briefly hit by clix and het; 1716
into *German*; 1719 commemorating 40th anniversary; long string of
English fonetix, spelling out contact info including
yankee-alfa-hotel-oskar-oskar; old off-air recording; ``Antártida``
song; 1722 full IDs in Spanish, German: English saying this broadcast
is in Spanish, huh? 1745 back really into Spanish, speech about
Patagonia, and music, Pat songs; 1758 plug this as the Wednesday 11-13
`Corazón Antártico` show; mostly songs after 1800; 1814 ID and Rio
Gallegos song; cut off the air by 1821 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIA? 4940, Oct 11 at 0022, tropical music S5-S7 direct from
anonymous mystery missionary station (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 4765, Oct 11 at 0023, R. Progreso is on already with S9+30 of
dead air, presumed warmup for *0030 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NETHERLANDS [non]. 5960, UT Sun Oct 11 at 0101, The Mighty farty
KBC, Giant Jukebox with Uncle Eric is playing ``Jump``, no doubt a
late Van Halen tribute from the Dutch. VG S9/+15 direct from Nauen,
GERMANY, and no het from Xinjiang, land of Chicom brainwashing of
Uyghurs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6930-USB, Oct 11 at 0026, really wild guitar riffs,
S9+5 but drops off in a minute. No other pirates audible now or in
following semihour despite Saturday night. Several logs here earlier
and later include SSTV IDs as Pee Wee:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. If you have any interest in Oklahoma, or need continuous
online access to PBS programming, perhaps more conveniently scheduled
than whatever you have locally, note this:

```OETA Announces New 24/7 Livestream
by Aaron Morvan • Published on October 5, 2020 • Last modified on
October 7, 2020 OETA Livestream PRESSROOM
Free Digital Option for Watching OETA
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Educational Television
Authority (OETA) has launched a free 24/7 livestream of its primary
channel across OETA and PBS digital platforms.
“As Oklahoma’s statewide public television station, it is our
responsibility to bring informative, educational and inspirational
content to all Oklahomans,” says Polly Anderson, executive director..
“Livestreaming our content allows us to reach a wider audience; such
as those without access to a reliable broadcast signal and
cord-cutters. We’re proud to launch this new feature as OETA prepares
to host Stephanie Bice and Kendra Horn in a debate Thursday, October 8
at 7 p.m., and in anticipation of the all-new format of The Oklahoma
News Report Friday, October 16 at 7 p.m. I encourage all Oklahomans to
take advantage of this free service by downloading the free PBS app.”
The new livestream mirrors OETA’s primary channel—featuring children’s
programming from 6 a.m.–5 p.m. followed by fan-favorites like Antiques
Roadshow, NOVA, PBS NewsHour, and The Oklahoma News Report. Viewers
can access the livestream at OETA.tv/live or through the PBS app for
Android and Apple devices, ROKU, Amazon Fire tablets, iOS, tvOS and
Chromecast. Viewers do not need to be Passport members or have a
PBS.org account to enjoy the benefits of this free service.```
You may also reach program schedules for all four channels and display
them in any timezone from Eastern to Chamorro. Chamorro?? Ex-Guam,
ChST, always UT+10, now inclusive of the NMI. Further:
``The Oklahoma News Report Celebrates 40 Years with a New Format
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – This October marks many new beginnings for
the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA). Not only do
several big dramas hit the small screen, but the station celebrates
the fortieth anniversary and debuts an all-new format of its news and
current affairs program, The Oklahoma News Report.
Starting Friday, October 16 at 7 p.m., The Oklahoma News Report
expands its weekly newscast, which Oklahomans know and trust, from a
half-hour to a full hour. In addition to its regular reporting, the
new format features a panel discussion composed of the state’s top
thought leaders, journalists and investigative reporters. The program
will also launch a new logo, graphics and set. For more information
about The Oklahoma News Report, visit OETA.tv/pressroom.``
For many years the ONR was 5-nightly half hour, but a drastic reduxion
a few years ago to only one semihour per week. Now at least that is
being doubled; on the original airing UT Saturdays at 0000, bumping
aside `Washington Week In Review` to 0100, with the 0130 slot filled
by a prepeat of `Firing Line` with the cute but Republican Margaret
Hoover, descendant of Herbert, who always worx in a clip of original
William F Buckley despite disclaimers that this FL has nothing to do
with the previous show, which IIRC did air in that same Friday evening
slot (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SCOTLAND [non]. 5850, UT Sun Oct 11 0100-0200, `Encore` VG via
WRMI, best time to hear it on only beam thisaway, also weaker 5010 to
south. Great classical music movements I was going to summarize from
playlist, but both of them are from last two weeks, not yet this:
https://www.tumbril.co.uk/playlists
https://www.tumbril.co.uk/playlist-2
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9830, Sat Oct 10 at 2208, VOT English? Nothing but heavy
RTTY direct, and shortly no VOT into UTwente either, another missed
opportunity as something`s always erroneous at Emirler. I wonder if
any further Wed/Sat `Letterboxes` have been produced since last heard
sometime in August (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 395-MCW kHz, Oct 11 at 0040, NDB ULS, which is 25 watts from
Ulysses KS; surprisingly good signal, maybe sunsetskip enhanced?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5202.0-USB, UT Sun Oct 11 at 0035, S9+, Foxtrot unable to
copy somebody; AAR6EM replies about copying AAR6UK, i.e. an Army MARS
net; seems the are only setting up for digibursts, rather than
engaging in genuine human voice contacts. From UDXF iog logs, I gather
that 5202 is also an active Russian military frequency (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2055 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
October 10 at 2300 on WRMI 7780, VG S9+10 at UTwenre.
Also confirmed UT Sunday October 11 at 0326 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, good
via Warrenton MO SDR, about 7 minutes into so started circa 0319.
** U S A. 7489.99, Oct 11 at 0019, WBCQ back on the minus side with
`AAAWWW` playback from last night, politix; but NO signal on 6159.93v
where Area 51/61 should be, nor of course suspended 5130. Still no
6159.93v at 0157 check. What had been scheduled in EDT = UT -4:
Saturday 10 October 2020
7:00pm : Radio Timtron Worldwide
8:00pm : Grits Radio
9:00pm : The Lumpy Gravy Radio Show
10:00pm : The Eric Dolphy Mystery Hour
11:00pm : Zombo In Your Brain
Sunday 11 October 2020
8:00pm : American Debauchery with Duane Bruce
10:30pm : Shortwave Music Library October 2020
11:00pm : Glenn Hauser's World of Radio
11:30pm : Hobart Radio International
Let`s hope it be restored by UT Monday; no computer handy for:
``You can listen to us on the internet at splatterbox.us ``
Not heard when I checked 5130, but then I see Area 51 `Lumpy Gravy`
show was widely heard on 5130-USB around 0030, via Sycko Radio, per
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,72762.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 7505, Oct 10 at 2210, surprise, WRNO is on already, S9+10
with screaming gospel huxter in English; also Oct 11 at 0024 check but
now gospel huxtress is just barely modulated. Has long been registered
available 22-16 UT on 7505, so can easily expand beyond curtailed
01-04 only until crash in June; they have a lot of lost time to make
up for. Furthermore, altho never used for many years, also registered
16-22 UT on 15590, both 50 kW at 20 degrees into western Ontario; so
keep an ear on that imaginary one too (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5085, UT Sun Oct 11 at 0020, WTWW-2 still ham news, but by
0032, `TOUTA` has started, S9+45! but distorted, what a shame. Also
with JBA parasitic spurs plus/minus 13 kHz. Anyhow at 0039 before I
give up, I recognize Bob Heil`s comment about a Hammond Organ he
built, so this is a rerun. Not handy to switch to webfeed for pristine
$ tereo (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5043.2 & 5056.8, Oct 11 at 0021, never heard before JBA
parasitic spurs matching 6.8 kHz plus/minus out of 5050.0 WWRB, which
is S9+40, extremely lo-fi and splatter QRM to the spurs; 0108 check,
5050 still on, but spurs are gone. Say, how about Dave`s BEACON?
475.2-MCW kHz, Oct 11 at 0038, WA4SZE beacon at WWRB TN site is indeed
JBA with extremely slow CW ID. I know that other hams were complaining
long ago about this eating up so much of the 7-kHz-wide 630-m band
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1539.95 approx., Oct 11 at 0055 UT, TexMexmx, then mention
of ``Canal 57.5 - Houston``; Biden and other political ads in English
while music still plays. Not sure which is from the off-frequency,
which is surely KGBC Galveston TX, vs KEDA San Antonio. Virtual
Channel 57.5 in Houston = the fifth of six virtuals of KUBE RF 41
Baytown TX megawatt, ``Viene``, per W9WI.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VENEZUELA. 6906.08-CUSB, Oct 11 at 0029 direct, VP S5 Spanish and
music, i.e. 93.7 relay (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 539.95 approx., Oct 11 at 0040, het upon 540 stations.
Nicaragua has been reported off-minus; mwoffsets shows:
539.860 NCG Radio Corporación (Managua/Tipitata) 0900-0600 2020-03-11
539.973 MEX XEWA Los 40 (San Luis Potosí) 24h 2020-03-11
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carriers, this time not a thoro
search in 9-kHz steps, but obvious hets upon 10-kHz stations, Oct 11
at 0047: 621, 711, 891 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
Saturday, October 10 2020
Logs
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-CUSB, Oct 10 at 1518, another sporadic
Saturday broadcast from LRA36, almost all chat in Spanish, S4-S7 to
Brasil SDR, brief music break at 1605 and ``Nacional`` ID at 1607;
still yak until 1640 with brief songs and canned ID (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** CANADA. 317-MCW kHz, Oct 10 at 0620 UT, dash and VC, ND beacon 1000
watts from La Ronge, Saskatchewan, which is toward the end of
civilization beyond the 55th parallel.
328-MCW kHz, Oct 10 at 0621 UT, dash and YTL, NDB 1000 watts from Big
Trout Lake, Ontario, in the remote northwest, roughly 54 N/90 W, 580
km N of Thunder Bay:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitchenuhmaykoosib_Inninuwug_First_Nation
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. RF 19, Oct 10 from 1530 UT, again today zero DTV signal
from KAUT OKC ``43``, down for some reason. Nothing found about the
outage on website https://kfor.com/freedom-43/ --- who cares? It`s
still on cable (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** TAIWAN. 15665, Oct 10 at *0200, RTI cuts on just in time for
special live coverage in English of National Day #109. Good signal via
S Korea SDR; Chinese language version was already running well on two
other 19mb frequencies. Hosted by informal W&M, saying national anthem
is to play right away at ``10:00 precisely``, but I don`t hear it.
Some of their comments seem scripted, others off-the-cuff describing
what is going on or translating portions of speeches. Of course
celebrating the greatness of Taiwan, not least the low rate of
COVID-19.
There is constant Chinese in the background, which in this case is
self-imposed QRM. It`s annoying to English speakers, and
Chinese-speakers would not get anything out of it either with English
constantly talking over it! At 0222, ``you are watching live coverage
on Radio Taiwan International`` --- oh yeah? this is a radio station,
and no less on shortwave. By 0250 the closing ceremony is starting,
when I go hunting on the RTI website for a video feed, and finally
find it as a thumbnail, finally2 figure out how to enlarge it. Audio
and video there are asynchronous, let alone with the SW feed, but
labeled ``Join 磊神 Leslie Liao and Natalie Tso 竺瑞娟 as they bring you
live coverage of the 109th National Day Celebrations in Taiwan!`` So
anyway get to see them at their anchor desk, if not any of the
preceding pageantry. Soon they wrap up and off both by 0300 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [non]. 12080, Sat Oct 10 at 1425, VOA with ``space music``,
very pleasant and good S8-S9 signal, the best extracontinental on
band. Once again the VOA Korean service presents some VG music; soon
1429 announcement in Korean, more music. This is at 1200-1500, 250 kW,
21 degrees from Tinang, PHILIPPINES, thus fortuitously also aimed
right back CONUSward far beyond target. And never any jamming noted.
This is also on 9410, same parameters at 1400-1500 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2055 monitoring: confirmed UT Sat Oct 10 at
0130 on WRMI 7780, S9 here vs S7 noise level; at 0137, S7-S9 and noisy
at UTwente, VG S8-S9 and not noisy at Maine SDR.
Also confirmed Sat Oct 10 at 1130 on WRMI 9955, JBA on PL-880 whip.
Also confirmed Sat Oct 10 at 1322 the 1300 on WRMI 15770, poor-fair
S9. Next:
1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM
2300 UT Saturday WRMI 7780 to NE
0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0400]
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW
0130 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE
0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE, 5800 to SSE
** U S A. 7490.1 & 6159.9, UT Sat Oct 10 at 0048, both WBCQs with
`AAAWWW` slightly better on the first, as Allan is talking about some
special upcoming program marking 100th anniversary of broadcasting;
did anyone get details? Also says Jason will be on at 10 pm [02 UT
Sat] on 6160 with Rock show. 0055 finally reveals it is 9th of
October, YOOL 2020 from Studio 9 in Deland of Fla. Says 5130 is
temporarily for standby use. Reads a bit from Free Radio Weekly
starting with the 6906 Venezuelan which seems not to be a pirate, but
with no details; benedixion and off. Back at start 0000, I was
listening to Area 51 webcast; after WTO theme, usual fumbling with
mikes and compliments to Angela. I can only assume he`s always running
late, or does it this way to initiate an air of informality. Right
into politix so I skip to the end (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 17775-, Sat Oct 10 at 1506, zero signal here from KVOH, but
at 1517 check via Brasil SDR, good S9/+5 during `Wavescan` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Oct 10 from 0629:
531, 549, 558, 585, 603, 612, 621, 684(2), 711, 774(2), 837, 846(TP),
855(2), 882, 909, 1098, 1125, 1215, 1710(domestic) (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 4985, Oct 10 at 0109, heavy RTTY is here, not 4895 or
4905 as previous nights. Unless I hear more than one at a time, I
shall suspect it`s a single transmitter, NSS nominal 4985 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
Logs
** CANADA. 6754-USB, Oct 9 at 0612, Trenton Military still off pending
frequency fix.
15034.0-USB, Oct 9 at 1421, CHR is back on air and back on frequency
after foray to 15035.8-USB and then silence. Replies to my previous:
Richard Lacroix at 0203 UT October 9: ``Glenn, In reference to your
Oct 8 post, I was in conversation and worked with the technical crew
at MACS Trenton Thursday morning in reference to your initial post and
the off frequency issue. Upon initial investigation, MACS confirmed
that there was no apparent fault being reported from the remote
transmitter site but this was apparent when we monitored it from a
remote receiver site and the spectrum / waterfall display.
A decision was then made to broadcast using a different transmitter,
but as noted, this seems to be silent. MACS Trenton is aware of the
issues and have dispatched a technical crew to the site. The services
are not closed or taking a break but merely experiencing some
technical difficulties and will resume once corrective maintenance has
been completed. Richard``
Don VE6JY Moman, Alberta, Oct 9: ``just checked this morning at 1556
Z, Trenton weather broadcasts are back on 15034. Guess they got the
problem resolved.``
Art Delibert, Maryland at 1839 Oct 9: ``Glenn -- FYI, I heard a
broadcast from Trenton on 15034 beginning at 1830 today. Extremely
weak -- I'm probably in the skip zone for such a high frequency, but
they were there and on frequency. I know Bill Hepburn lists them as
starting at 10 minutes after hour; I didn't hear anything then``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey, Oct 9 at 1357: none WOOB in the 13s,
12s, or 11s, but 10920 JBA until 1400*. Retune at 1420, however, JBA
carrier back on 10920; maybe really Sound of Hope? (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** COLOMBIA? 4940, Oct 9 at 2209, no signal yet via TWR Bonaire SDR,
from anonymous mystery missionary station; probably opens circa 2300,
and underway with gospel huxter in Spanish at 2342, S9+5 peaks, SAM
carrier offsets varying minus 5 to 6 Hz (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. RF 19, Oct 9 circa 1500 UT, no DTV signal from KAUT
``43``, OKC. There is some tropo with fog around, but no DX decoding.
The other OKCs are nominal or even better such as iffy RF 16 KOCM.
KAUT is either off the air, QRP, or blocked by a DX signal: great ATSC
1.0 DTV system makes it impossible to be sure of which. I look for
possible QRM sources but W9WI.com is currently showing only Canadian
listings, computer problems accessing FCC data. No 19 on either of my
outside antennas; and at 2051 UT check, not on my third set with
rabbit ears which normally gets it when positioned just right. As I
recall, KAUT has been chosen as ``host transmitter`` for other
stations in the new ATSC 3.0 system, so maybe it`s down now for some
reconfiguration.
After 2 or 3 months down on the roof following a windstorm, my Ch 7-13
and 14+ Hi VHF/UHF antenna has been reërected, a 2-hour, 2-person job
accomplished Oct 7 at 15-17 UT. It`s as good as before, which is not
good enough to capture a solid signal from, KETA ``13``, PBS with
three subchannels, World, Create, and Kids. -3 and -4 are not
available on cable! And 1 and -2 are usually degraded to monophonic on
cable. I continue to blame this on the second harmonic of local KNID
107.1 messing up the RF 13 videoband at 214.2 MHz, roughly off the
back of the antenna aimed SSE toward OKC. A better front/back ratio
might help but should not be necessary (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** THAILAND. 9390, Oct 9 at 1304, R. Thailand in English news, VP S6
and LSB required to avoid 9395-TOMBS via WRMI. 1309 commercials and
IDs/promos for ``FM 88`` its main domestic ID, also FM 95.5 and AM 918
from Radio Thailand, Public Relations Department of the Royal Thai
Government. The latter is only 10 kW in Bangkok, vs 600 kW from
Cambodia`s #1 frequency, and which had some news in English when I was
in Korat 50 years ago. A bit more international news until 1314 gongs,
pause, 1315 resume, English announcement introducing Mandarin.
The point of this is: 1300-1315 is supposed to be in Japanese, but one
of the languages temporarily? suspended. Dr Hj Biener suggests it`s
because funding for free-lance language staff run out before a fiscal
year end, as the same has happened with German. There is a minor beam
change at 1314 from 54 to 30 degrees, both of which are much more
favorable for us than 132 degrees for the original English semihours
at 1230 & 1400: if only those could be aimed USward and axually reach
us in mornings while the so-called North American service evenings
after 0000 on 15590 does not. All of course via USAGM Udorn, while
HSK9 should insist on using Grimesland NC for us. As expected, at 1422
presumably in English, 9390 is now JBA. Substitute English at 1300
should be savoured while it last (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 420-MCW kHz, Oct 9 at 0622 UT, ND beacon FQ, fading out;
it`s 25 watts from Fairmont, Minnesota, which is right next to Iowa at
the center of the southern border between Albert Lea and Worthington.
I was tuned to 418-USB.
379-MCW kHz, Oct 9 at 0625 UT, ND beacon DL, which is 50 watts from
Duluth -- Pike Lake, Minnesota. Tuned to 377-USB (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2055 monitoring: confirmed first
** U S A [and non]. 9955, Oct 9 at 1302, WRMI with no QRM here but
there could be, especially further west, as Radio Free Asia has been
reported testing? 9955 in Vietnamese and other languages before and
after this hour. Some jumped to the conclusion that site must be T8WH
PALAU, which per our exclusive info last week, is planning a comeback
November 1 as Hope Radio out of West Virginia, but would be testing
before then; but 9955 was not mentioned or registered as one of their
frequencies, and furthermore someone found that it was inaudible at
Hanoi SDR, yet audible via Russia into Europe. Wolfgang Bueschel now
says those tests are really via Dushanbe, TAJKISTAN.
This also applies to 9930 which was the #1 frequency of
KWHR/T8BZ/T8WH, and which here at 1303 has nothing, but at 1305 seems
VP 2-way in unknown language on LSB. 9965 is another possible Palau
frequency and there is a JBA carrier (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5970, Oct 9 at 0607, no signal from WEWN Spanish, normally
regular and other US stations are loud on 5850, 5890, 5935, 5950. Also
absent is 9385 WEWN English altho that could be above the MUF.
15610 English and 12050 Spanish are apparently back on, Oct 9 at 2056
and 2102 as JBA carrier and JBA respectively (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 7505, Oct 9 at 0609, the revived WRNO still gospel huxter in
English, S8-S9; had been reported overnight in Chinese or something,
but must start later (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 7490.10, Oct 9 at 2107, `Behaviour Night` on Fridays via
WBCQ off-frequency+plus again after a while slightly minus. Poor
reception still but should be improving with earlier sunsets into
winter, and airing one real UT hour later from November (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** VENEZUELA. 6906.08-CUSB, Oct 9 at 2208 via TWR Bonaire SDR,
numerous ``Venezuela 93.7`` or vice-versa IDs in program promotions,
good S6-S7. Still at 2342 with romantic music (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Oct 9 at
0613-0618: 576(2), 585, 612, 621, 657, 684(2), 747(2), 774(2), 837,
846(TP), 855, 882(2), 891, 1026(2), 1044, 1107, 1125(2), 1134(2),
1152, 1215, 1314(2), 1413, 1503; 1710-domestic (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 4905-RTTY, Oct 9 at 0601, heavy fast RTTY here, but not
on 4985 or 4895. I wonder if all these be NSS in Maryland, jumping to
different frequencies intentionally or not? Vs some CODAR here too
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 5040, Oct 9 at 0604, JBA carrier after RHC normally
closes, while 5025 Rebelde retains S9+20 tho undermodulated. Could be
RHC on exciter, not completely off? Or VANUATU? 5040 is one of their
registered frequencies but has not been in use. Aoki shows starting at
0700 but we know they are extremely flexible (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 9675, Oct 9 at 2104, 1 kHz tone at S3-S4, DSB, not a
het. Only schedulee is Iran in Spanish until 2120, but Saudi in
Turkish would have just ended at 2057 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
Logs
** BRAZIL. 4885, Oct 8 at 0349 dead air from presumed R. Clube do
Pará, S8-S9 via Bonaire SDR vs some CODAR. No signal on 4875 from the
other ZY, nor German pirate Mystery Radio which was reported to have
** CANADA [and non]. 351-MCW kHz, Oct 8 at 0615, dash and YKQ,
was tuned to 350-USB for my nearby RG in OKC, and where I was also
hearing mixed in LI, 400 watts from Little Rock, Arkansas, which is
really on 353; but not its often companion, IN from International
Falls, Minnesota. See also USA [and non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CANADA. 6754.8-USB, Oct 8 at 0623, CHR Trenton Military still
off-frequency from 6754.0-USB.
15035.8-USB, Oct 8 circa 1355, no signal from Trenton Military here
nor on correct 15034.0-USB; not sure if closed or merely in a break,
but Canadian reaxions to my previous reports:
``Trenton VOLMET ODXA Logs --- Glenn, Just checking if this is you who
is posting the reception logs to the ODXA group. I have been following
your last 2 days of Trenton VOLMET being off frequency. I did not have
a chance to check the 15 MHz frequency today but can confirm that the
6 MHz frequency is currently, no pun intended, off
frequency. I work for DND so I definitely can have someone look into
this abnormality. Thanks Richard Lacroix,`` 0047 UT Oct 8
``Trenton off air --- Hi Glenn, I dropped a note to a friend that used
to work at the facility, he contacted them but they initially insisted
nothing was wrong, but since they are off the air today, he must have
convinced them that there is a problem. 73 Don VE6JY`` Moman, 2011 UT
Logs
** CANADA. 278-MCW kHz, Oct 7 at 0620 UT, dash and NM, which is
500-watt NDB from Matagami, Quebec (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
only way-out-of-band one detected between 13.5 and 9.1 MHz (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 15140, Oct 7 at 1501, RHC is S9+20 but overmodulated and
distorted, correctly mentioning this and 11760 as current frequencies,
about to be turned off. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR. 2598-USB, Oct 7 at 0624 UT Canadian Coast
Guard marine weather from two simulstations clashing, different
content by same synthYL voice in English. Per
http://dxinfocentre.com/mb.htm
None of the six stations in this region is scheduled to start anytime
between 0437 and 0737; what a surfeit. BTW, archive search shows this
is the first time I have used the word ``surfeit`` in at least the
past sesquidecade of my reports; and now I have done so twice; what a
surfeit; er, thrice (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SUDAN SOUTH [non]. 15400, Oct 7 at 1503, JBA carrier, presumed R.
