** PALAU [and non]. Re: T8WH PALAU firing back up:

Correspondence with Scott Reppert of Hope Radio:

``Mr Reppert, We are getting reports the last few days of Radio Free
Asia testing in Vietnamese at 1330-1430 UT on 9955 kHz. Is this via
Palau? Can you definitely confirm whether or not? Are you also
planning to lease it to RFA? Thanks, Glenn Hauser``, Oct 8.

``Glenn: It was not us. A link to our frequencies is below. We do not
have any plans to lease to anyone right now, but would possibly
consider it should something come our way.
https://www.hoperadio.net/frequencies
Scott Reppert``, Oct 12. Viz.:

``Winter Frequencies
Angel 3 0800-2300 UTC M-Sun 9930
Angel 4 0100-0500 UTC [days not specified] 15675
Angel 5 0800-1200 UTC [days not specified] 9965
*winter frequencies commence on October 25, 2020*``

``Scott, When do you expect to start testing? Since you are still
referring to the transmitters as Angels, will LeSea/FBC still be
involved in this, such as your leasing rather than buying them
outright? Glenn``

``I will have to check with our engineer on site to see when the
repairs we are making to the facilities will be done. When he gives us
the go-ahead, I'll let you know. Even though the Angel names were kept
(in honor of Dr. Sumrall), we own the stations outright. Scott``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, Oct 12, WOR iog)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2055 monitoring: confirmed Monday
October 12 from 1801.1 on IRRS, 7290 Bulgaria, VG S9+15/25 at UTwente.
Continued OK past 1810 but always with splash from Vietnam 7280 and/or
Iran 7300. 7290 open carrier already on at 1757; 1758.8 JIP rock song;
1759.8 IRRS/NEXUS ID with Milano PO Box and phone; 1800.6 Feature
Story News headlines then WOR. AMSynch frequency reads out 7289.99830
varying to 7289.99845 or so.

Also confirmed UT Tue Oct 13 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, JBA here and sounds
undermodulated; but clockwise at a Rochester SDR closer to the beam
angle, it`s VG S9+5/10.

Also confirmed UT Tue Oct 13 at 0330 on WRMI 5800, Good S7-S8 at
Rochester; S9+15/20 at Bonaire; fair to portable/rod ATS-909 here.

Next:
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html

Thanks for an anonymous contribution by money order or check
in US funds on a US bank to
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702

Financial support may alternatively be sent via PayPal to
woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily US funds as PP will convert
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 6160v, Oct 13 at 0005, Larry Will explains absence this
weekend: ``Hi Glenn, There was a lightning event at WBCQ on Saturday
evening at around 0030 UT Sunday October 11 that damaged some
equipment at the classic WBCQ facility, including the 6160 transmitter
and some of the support equipment for the AM and FM systems. 6160 is
back online this evening as I write this, although it is running on
lower power as repairs proceed. We expect full service to resume
sometime this week if all goes well. Thanks, Lw``

So then I check it at 0009 via Rochester SDR, VP S4-S6 with AMSynch
carrier offset reading minus 80 Hz, i.e. 6159.92. At 0013 direct to
here, JBA but measured 6159.920. Yet 7490.06 is S9+10 with cool jazz
on FTIOM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, Oct 13 at 0025 and still at 0200 chex, NO signal from
WRNO, gone again. Maybe crashed after last night`s distorted
overmodulation and splatter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Logs
** COLOMBIA. 4940, Oct 12 at 0144, anonymous mystery missionary
station with gospel huxter in Spanish is S8-S9 into TWR Bonaire
KiwiSDR, showing characteristic minus 5.1 to 5.6 Hz carrier offset in
SynchAM mode (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, Oct 12 at 0607, R. Rebelde is S9+30 of dead air except
for some crackle --- something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11880, Oct 12 at 1516, CRI English relay is S9+10 but
undermodulated: turn up the volume. Something`s always wrong at
RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 7390, Oct 12 at 0555, French with very heavy African
accent, then more Parisian speakers, about megawatts, power
discussion? S9+10, is RFI at 0500-0600, 500 kW, 150 degrees from
Issoudun (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** IRELAND [and non]. 5505-USB, Oct 12 at 0602, VOLMET in English by
roboyl; and similar sounding competing VOLMET on 5450-USB, which are
respectively: Shannon; and RAF somewhere in UK (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** SPAIN. 684, Oct 12 at 0612, among 9-kHz TA carrier search, this one
is strong enough and far enough from 10-kHz adjacents to pull some
Castilian audio, i.e. RNE Sevilla, which WRTH lists one place as 600
kW, another as 200 kW; a bit off frequency causing a het with
something else: 50 kW TUNISIA the only likely and seemingly too close
to Seville superpower; any direxional arrays? mwoffsets shows RNE
normally only -1 Hz low but sometimes +70-74 Hz high (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2055 monitoring: confirmed UT
Monday October 12 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG direct.

Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 12 at 0130 on WRMI 7780, JBA direct and
undermodulated; S8-S9 at UTwente; also almost synchronized on WRN
webcast.

Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 12 at 0230 on WRMI 5800, VG S9+15 at Bonaire
KiwiSDR; and on 7780, S9 at UTwente SDR.

Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 12 starting at 0306 on Area 51 webcast;
while WBCQ 6159.93v is still off the air as it was last night and
earlier chex this night; 5130 also still off. Preceding program
`Shortwave Music Library` ran overtime.

Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 12 at 0330 on WRMI 9955, good into Brasil
SDR. Next:

1800vUT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy
0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 5800 to SSE
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE

woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily US funds as PP will convert
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7490-7520, Oct 12 at 0549, WRNO extended broadcast is
splattering out to this range from overmodulated, distorted 7505 as
`Maranatha Radio` from California is wrapping up in English.
Fortunately, WWCR and WBCQ do not need their threatened frequencies at
this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1540-, reply to my off-frequency log: ``Glenn, KGBC 1540
Galveston is running a Spanish language religious format, also audible
in parts of Houston metro on K269GS 101.7 in Pasadena, Texas. The
same programmer also has "RTVH" on KUBE 57.5, which is actually one of
ten subchannels on the station. The radio and TV frequently cross
promote, so that is obviously what you heard. Stephen Luce, Houston,
Texas`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 17775-, Oct 12 at 1510, KVOH surprisingly strong and steady
S9+20/30, smax of HF sporadic E boost over 1100+ mile path, but DXMap
depending on ham contacts shows no Es MUF at all. Meanwhile, US
stations eastward remain JBA carriers: 15825, 15770, tho 15750 DRM
WINB is stronger. Meanwhile, K6FRC HIFER 1.8-milliwatt beacon is not
making it on 13565-CW, tho admittedly from different Cal-part.

KVOH is amid `Frecuencia al Dia` with Célio Romais` DX news in
Brazilian-accented Spanish, or Portunhol or Españuguês; then Happy
Birthday song and Dino greets listeners completing years in octubre
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VENEZUELA. 6906.08-CUSB, Oct 1 at 0145, Venezuela 93.7 with songs
at S4-S6 into Bonaire SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search Oct 12 at
0610-0620: 558, 585(2), 612, 621, 639(2), *684(2), 693(2), 747,
774(2), 837(2), 846(TP), 882, 936, 999, 1026, 1035, 1044, *1053, 1089,
1098, 1107(2), 1116, 1125(2), 1134(2), 1152, 1215. *strongest; in the
case of 684 also audio, see SPAIN (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 11665, Oct 12 at 1517, JBA talk: could it be the
sporadically active Wai FM, Malaysia? No, EiBi shows that only until
1420, with CRI Pashto via Kunming at 1500-1600. However, Aoki/NDXC
shows RTM overlapping until 1600; the only two stations on 11665
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. CNR1 jammer search, Oct 11 at 1343-1355, mostly JBA carriers
at known spots: 13835 S7, 13530 vs CODAR; 13130, 12820, 12500, 12190

** SAUDI ARABIA. 17615.069, Oct 11 at 1442, S9+10 Arabic talk and then
Qur`an, from the signature off-frequency SBC. 17705 is off, but //
17895.024, reading S9+10/20 but sounds slightly weaker. The SSOB by
far; finally getting an October propagation bump? Yet WWV forecast A
and K indices today a slight heft to 10 & 3; back to 5 & 2 until Oct
20-29 elevating, peaking 30 & 6 on Oct 25 with G2 storms. Axual
K-index at 1500 today is 0. Only 17615+ is still on at 1518 (Glenn

** U S A. 13565-CW, Oct 11 at 1346, another banner day for
micro-propagation, JBA but sufficient beacon ID from K6FRC, Patterson,
California, which says it runs only 1.8 milliwatts. I`m still *never*
hearing any other HIFER beacons in the 13550-13570 band, nor K6FRC at
any other daypart (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

song, S9+10/20. HFCC shows 9320 & 9410 & 12080 all are 250 kW, 21
degrees USward from Tinang, PHILIPPINES. 12045 is 250 kW, 38 degrees
USward from THAILAND. Never any jamnoise heard vs; the Juche are more
interested in jamming themselves (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
