![Logs](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/logs.gif) ** ARMENIA. Re my report of KBC: ``6080 kHz, direct from Yerevan`` --- not Gavar?? VG reception via UTwente, not here``
Christian Milling replies on the soon to be deleted DXLD yg: ``Neither Yerevan nor Gavar. The village where the transmitters are located and the postal address of the station is Noratus, Gegharkunik Province, Radio Quarter 5`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** AUSTRIA [and non]. 6185, UT Sun Dec 6 at *0500, Moosbrunn on just in time for NHK English relay at weekend timing, ex-6155; makes fast SAH overriding XEPPM, which I was hearing weakly in Spanish before 0500; via Rochester NY SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. 6075, Dec 6 at 1553, S9 strongest signal on band by far, the only listenable one some 2.4 hours after sunrise here, Chinese talk and plucked music to timesignal and off 1600*; meanwhile same music on 7300 if not synchronized. Aoki/NDXC for 6075 shows CNR1 jamming vs Taiwan but until 1730*; also PBS Qinghai with CNR1 too until 1600*. Furthermore, CRI in Urdu via Kashgar until 1557. None of these seem apt for pushing such a bigsig thisaway (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ERITREA [non]. 17545+, Dec 6 at 1542, confirmed no Bayto Yaikl on Sunday, just Wed & Sat so far. Traces of 17615+ Sa`udi, 21690 France (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** PHILIPPINES. 9275, Dec 6 at 1550, Chinese music S7-S9 with flutter, FEBC Bocaue at 10-16. WMLK has also reserved 9275 at 17-22, 53 degrees toward Europe, if those Yahwists ever get their new 300 kW transmitter and antenna in Bethel PA on the air (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 13565-CW, Dec 6 at 1453, 1.8 milliwatt HIFER beacon K6FRC is JBA with ID only repeating, from Patterson CA - tuned across almost every morning, last logged October 11. Standard inquiry: is it always on the air or not? Fortunately, no spurblobblox from RHC today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2063 monitoring: not confirmed UT Sun Dec 6 between 0447 and 0600 several chex of WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, but ARNL and other ham shows, such as at 0505 `ARNL` about the Arecibo collapse. Hope WOR had aired earlier before I tuned in. Heavy CW QRM thruout, must be a 160mb contest. Next: We hope WBCQ will be back on by 2300 Sunday, apparently missing Saturday due to nor`easter. 2300vUT Sunday WBCQ 6160v Area 61 to WSW [new, ex 0400 Mon!] 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW 0130 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE 0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE, 5800 to SSE 0430 UT Monday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 1900vUT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy 0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 5800 to SSE 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 2300 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Jack Amelar, NY8D, Lowell MI, who says, ``Glenn, Thank you for many years of WOR and loggings which I have enjoyed and used. Enclosed find my contribution to help keep your service to the monitoring hobby going``; with a check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to: woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. A nor`easter hit the WBCQ area on Saturday December 5, and it seems it has been knocked off the air, altho not certain, perhaps deficient propagation. 6160v, Dec 6 at 0503 check, no signal into Rochester nor here, but may have just normally signed off. Sked: http://zappahead.net/#2020-1205-area51 7490, I was also checking whether a conflict with WHRI, but only the latter heard on 7490.0, Dec 6 at 0455 with gospel huxter into Warrenton MO SDR I`m mainly monitoring for WA0RCR; 0503 S7-S9 gospel song. 9330, Dec 6 at 1624, no signal from WBCQ with WLC. Ivo Ivanov earlier noted it absent at 1000 when scheduled in French (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 17790, Dec 6 at 1808, very strong S9+10/20 unfamiliar electronic interval signal, recorded. Rick Barton, AZ first reported this at 1720, then WRMI ID at 1800. Also heard by Harold Frodge, MI; Wolfgang Bueschel using Bonaire SDR, at 1751: ``twin tone 17790 and 17795 kHz signal strings``. At 1812, Peter W Hansen: ``17790 comes best at Bay Area California and 17795 in New York and Iceland.`` I ask Jeff White about it! ``Hi Jeff, Questions I hope you can answer: 17790 -- what is the origin and significance of that unfamiliar [17-note] interval signal? Is this really from Okeechobee? Which transmitter and antenna? Excellent signal here. Is this leading to a new relay client? Any other new frequencies planned? And you were running 17795 at same time? Others heard that. From another site? At 1900 ID sounded like a mixture of Spanish, and Russian?`` ``Glenn: It's a test for a one-time special transmission tomorrow [Mon Dec 7] from 1300 to 1700. I can't really say who it's for until tomorrow. Two frequencies: 17790 and 7570. The language was Bosnian. Yeah, it's OK to share it. Jeff`` Further monitoring via Bonaire and direct: I`m hearing 17790 only, past 1952 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 17775-, re KVOH missing December 4, Ray Robinson of KVOH replies December 5: ``Hi, Glenn. 17775 was indeed off on Thursday and part of Friday [Dec 3-4] due to a preventative Edison power cut to the area that includes the KVOH transmitter site. It will likely be off on Monday [Dec 7] too, not due to Edison, but because of some maintenance work we need to do (that can only be done when we have lights and power!). Ray.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5830 & 5085, Sunday Dec 6 at 1548, WTWW-1 & 2 are OFF, unlike in daytime yesterday; 9475 WTWW-1 is also OFF, when normally it would be on a Sunday morning. Ivo Ivanov however had heard 5085 & 5830 still on at 1000, beyond schedule (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 11709.1, Dec 6 at 1546, weak signal making a het with another on 11710.0, and flutter. Only two listed at this time are CNR1 from Beijing 572 site, and Voice of Korea [North], the latter more likely askew; Commies vs Commies! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 13593, Dec 6 at 1455, very intermittent distorted spur of talk modulation; 13700 & 13740 RHC are both on but cannot make a match to them (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1954 UT December 6 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Glenn Hauser logs December 5-6, 2020 |

Sunday, December 06 2020
![Logs](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/logs.gif) ** BRAZIL. 11905-11910-11915, Dec 5 at 2301, how is the RNA DRM test doing today? To Bonaire SDR, S8, 17.2 dB SNR during a ballad, a few snags in the audio. At 0022 Dec 6 check, I now hear three transmitters at once direct with 6180 back on // 11780 music, DRM noise also audible around 11910, may or may not be // (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** COLOMBIA? 4940, Dec 5 at 2302, quick check on Bonaire of anonymous mystery missionary station finds it playing the song `Corazón de Melón`, not exactly a gospel tune. Or `Watermelon Heart`, by Trini López version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfGoA_fcgr4 YouTube also has a Pérez Prado version but with a songstress. It seems the name also applies to a dating game, a.k.a. Sweet Crush. Ah, what a learning experience SWLing can be (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NETHERLANDS [non]. 6080, Sat Dec 5 at 2139, tune in on UTwente SDR to a special broadcast of the Mighty KBC, tnx to a reminder from Alan Roe. Excellent near-local quality reception in SyncAM mode. ``Waiting for Santa Claus to enter the studio`` now, and next hour. Rock music, Dutch and English ads and IDs; 2145 as ``60-80 kHz, 100 kW direct from Yerevan``. At 2205 I posted to the WOR, NASWA and BDXC iogroups: ``O o, 2159.5 switch 6080 to AWR IS & ID, Voice of Hope, introducing 2200 Bangla! 2201, switch back to Dutch - KBC. Was this a joke, or mistake? English, ``the adventure starts here`` --- not Adventist... Resuming frenetic rock and DJ chatter. commercials in bilanguages. Frequent IDs ``6080 kHz, direct from Yerevan`` --- not Gavar?? VG reception via UTwente, not here`` AWR`s Bangla service is listed at 1300 UT only. 2200 would be a bit early, 4 am local. This was in reply to Alan`s original notes: ``A reminder that The Mighty KBC have a special broadcast tonight on 6080 kHz via Armenia from 2100 to 2300 UT. From the KBC webpage and Facebook page: "The Mighty KBC and an uncensored Dave Donkervoort! Saturday 5 December 22:00-24:00! DAB+ 12 B and 6080 kHz. from Yerevan Armenia: December 5th and Saint Nicholas evening will never be the same! All times in CET." Netherlands [non]. Fair signal of the special broadcast for Saint Nicholas Eve on 6080 kHz via Armenia signing on at 2100 UT. Mostly in Dutch with some announcements in English. Alan Roe, Teddington, UK`` Donkervoort could be translated Darkaway? His? expressiveness in Dutch is really excessive. I keep listening to this extravaganza instead of my usual KUCO post-opera birthday music [the Met Opera season has just begun all-repeats for obvious reasons, with Prokofiev`s Voyna i Mir for 4 hours, a bit much; I pass]; at 2254 KBC already says closing down on SW but music keeps playing until circa 2300 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 1140, Dec 5 at 2013 UT, KRMP OKC is off the air, a hole in my caradio MW daytime bandscan. The 1 kW daytimer is always audible otherwise. December official FCC LSS is 2315 UT, so at home on DX-398 I check it from 2306: weak soul music loops SSE, both fittingly; 2313 some ads mentioning OKC, so that`s it. A Progressive commercial is chopped off the air right at 2315* with no ID, goodbye, national anthem, sign-off, or retune to FM. How rude! This Tyler translator is on 92.1, so who cares about the AM. Too much QRM on FM to hear it here, not including the long-gone KAMG-LP Enid. As far as FCC knows, that`s still on the air. Nobody paying attention. If they monitored my log reports, they would have known when it came and went years ago; ha. [non]. BTW, 1130 KLEY Wellington KS remains off, forever? Correspondence that if not back on, license will expire Aug 21, 2021: http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/getimportletter_exh.cgi?import_letter_id=96705 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** THAILAND. 13750, Dec 6 at 0058 I remember to check Radio Thailand`s NAm service in English, as Steven Wiseblood has reported it well into the RGV: ``13750 THAILAND R. Thailand 0030z decent signal with W in EG reading news, 0035z into M in EG culture in Thailand (Wiseblood-TX 12/06)`` --- So I bring up the TWR Brownsville SDR in time to hear some music; break off at 0059, back on at 0100 with the Thai national anthem, which I was hearing a lot 50 years ago, and into Thai hour. Both only fair by that Kiwi. HFCC shows a slight beam change from 30 to 38 degrees, why? The 6-degree azimuth from Udorn for NAm East is at 0000-0030 & 0200-0230 English, 0230-0330 Thai; 30 degrees for NAm West English at 0030-0100 only; shouldn`t the later 0200-0330 segment be for the West? Anyhow, standard remark that since HSK9 are using USAGM facility, to reach us much better, they should be on Grimesland! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2063 monitoring: confirmed Saturday December 5 at 2048 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, Wentzville MO, VG S9+10 into nearby Warrenton SDR. After first having detected a JBA carrier direct in the almost-winter daytime. Also confirmed Sat Dec 5 at 2300 on WRMI 7780, S7-S8 into Bonaire sidewise, S9+15 into UTwente directly. Next: 0400vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0415; as late as 0500] 2300vUT Sunday WBCQ 6160v Area 61 to WSW [new, ex 0400 Mon!] 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW 0130 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE 0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE, 5800 to SSE 0430 UT Monday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 1900vUT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy 0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 5800 to SSE 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 2300 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Jack Amelar, NY8D, Lowell MI, who says, ``Glenn, Thank you for many years of WOR and loggings which I have enjoyed and used. 5085, Dec 5 at 2045, WTWW-2 is still on with rock music as it has been all day, built up to VG signal; but by now, 5830, WTWW-2 is off, and so is its alter-ego 9475. (5085), UT Sat Dec 5 at 0121-0153, $ tereo webcast of WTWW-2 with `Theatre Organ Under The Arch` lasting 32 minutes. Who`s going to notice the excess at such odd times? Me (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 1370, Dec 5 at 2015 UT, bandscan on caradio finds some talk station, mentions ``elexion fraud in Michigan``, so far-right extremist, of course, what else? I`m always looking for KGNO Dodge City KS, which I never can hear at any daypart, yet purports to be on the air, so is this it? 1370 tends to be desensitized on radios in most of Enid by the 1390 KCRC transmitter which is in the north-central along a major artery, Willow, but I am on the western outskirts where it is a little weaker and KGNO could be a little stronger. I try to find a spot away from power line noise by 2030 break, but it`s faded out. On home rig at 2045, two JBA carriers beat on 1370. Looking at listings, might also have been early skywave this time of year from e.g. KJCE, Austin market TX, another talker with a signal thisaway (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) This report despatched at 0411 UT December 6 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
