Glenn Hauser logs May 3-4-5, 2021 |

Wednesday, May 05 2021
** CHINA. 15775, May 5 at 0138, not much happening on 19m now but a JBA carrier here. Aoki shows nothing but Sound of Hope at 2130-1600, so it`s likely CNR1 *jamming (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) see also EAST TURKISTAN
** CUBA. 15700, May 4 at 1504, CRI English relay is absent, nor on ex-11880 either; propagation OK with RHC on 15140. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, May 4 at 19-20, missed checking whether RHC English were back here from 15370 yesterday, and whether still only one hour in the afternoon; did anybody notice? I did check May 4 at 2315 and until 2357.8* with that English hour on 11880, while after 2200 was still in French (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA? 5085, May 5 at 0018, Cuban-style weak pulse jamming centred here before WTWW is on, now via Bonaire SDR, as heard before here when WTWW was on. Possibly some kind of ute instead (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 4747 & 4783 approx., May 5 at 0035, scratchy spurblobs obviously out of R. Progreso which has just come on 4765, into Bonaire SDR just like I hear them direct, plus/minus 17-18 kHz. I can`t think of anyone else who has ever reported these. No one else cares about documenting all the crap Cuba defecates onto our SW bands? Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11850, May 5 at 0135, RHC is S9+10/20 but suptorted, flanked by the JBA carrier spurs on 11840 & 11860. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) see also EAST TURKISTAN [and non] ** EAST TURKISTAN [and non]. 9710, RHCuba has stuck to this new frequency, which when it first appeared April 27, I pointed out immediately would conflict with CRI to Latin America at 00-03 UT. Now at 0034 May 5, into Bonaire SDR, continuous Chinese music is atop RHC in Spanish, during their Portuguese hour which for years now has been filled with music only on all its transmissions including 00-01. Meanwhile RHC`s exes, 9650 and 9640 are both empty! Way to go, frequency manager Arnie! At 0054 CRI does announce the Portuguese schedule in Brazuguese accent, including this hour, also on 6100. For 2300 I didn`t hear him mention 13650 which is the Cuban relay. After that, dead air or off until 0100 CRI IS, theme, Chinese and Spanish IDs. From the land of ChiCom imperialist genocide against Uyghurs and other Moslems, Kashgar site is 500 kW at 269 degrees for Portuguese, shifting to 294 for Spanish, i.e. centrally aimed first at Rio de Janeiro, then from Belém across mid-Brasil where the first SS country hit directly is Bolivia, but should be good for neighbors Perú, Paraguay, northern Argentina as well; CubaRM permitting, Commies vs Commies! BTW, I would seldom quote National Review, but David Cole sends this disturbing report from the May 17 [sic] issue which I have retitled: Uyghur families pay a ChiCom imperialist price for RFA journalism https://www.nationalreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/xml_20210517_Nordlinger.html WRTH 2021 page 504 shows RFA has only two Uyghur hours per day, 01-02 & 16-17 UT, mostly via Kuwait on a different frequency each day of week, also some via Saipan, Tinian, Dushanbe. But for A-21 Bulgarian DX Blog shows: 0100-0200 on 9780 KWT 250 kW / 046 deg to CeAs Uyghur 0100-0200 on 9800 BIB 100 kW / 063 deg to CeAs Uyghur 0100-0200 on 11640 KWT 250 kW / 054 deg to CeAs Uyghur 0100-0200 on 11790 KWT 250 kW / 046 deg to CeAs Uyghur 1600-1700 on 9355 DB 200 kW / 060 deg to CeAs Uyghur 1600-1700 on 9480 KWT 250 kW / 046 deg to CeAs Uyghur 1600-1700 on 11675 TIN 250 kW / 305 deg to CeAs Uyghur 1600-1700 on 15700 BIB 100 kW / 075 deg to CeAs Uyghur (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** GERMANY [and non]. I did manage to hear all the UBMP episode of throat-singing, tnx to the unpublicized semi-repeat Mon May 3 at 2300-2330 on WBCQ 7490v webcast; and Tuesday May 4 at 2000-2100 on Channel 292, 6070 with a VG signal into UTwente; which followed his other show, FTIOM until 2000 and off the air at 2100*. BTW, UB says next week`s FTIOM will be all-music, no interviews; on WBCQ UT Tue May 11 at 0000-0100 on WBCQ 7490v (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NEW ZEALAND. 7162-LSB, May 4 at 0605, new frequency for ZL4RMF, ex-7168 last night, Dunedin, in contact with OA4DPQ, unheard here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** PERU. 4775.037, May 5 at 0030, music from R. Tarma is S6-S7 into Bonaire SDR, on signature offset frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** PERU. 4752.477v, May 5 at 0033, music, talk from R. Huanta 2000, also S6-S7 into Bonaire SDR but sounds weaker than Tarma. Both OAs luck out escaping the Progreso, CUBA, q.v. spurs out of 4765 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** RUSSIA. 4996-CW, May 4 at 0022, binary pulses at S4-S5, via Bonaire SDR. Got to be the 10 kW timesignal station in Taldom near Moskva, despite the distance, doing as well as WWV into Bonaire SDR. Yes, there are pips on the minute at 0023, 0024, 0025, 0026. Also checked 9996, no signal there. WRTH does not show any `program sked`; it would be very helpful to know at least when they ID. IIRC it`s at :39 and :09. Recheck at 0107 in constant tone/dash, 0108 dead air, and yes, 0109 RWM ID over and over in CW. 0217 rerecheck, second pips occasionally doubled (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 9955, May 4 at 1506, TOMBS is on WRMI again today // stronger 9395 and weaker 9455. Skedgrids now claim it`s daily at 1430-1600; M-F from 1400; among many other deadly hours (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2084 monitoring; Next: 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 2200 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Ron Howard, Monterey, California, in memory of Noel Green, for a check to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, and Ron says, ``Appreciate all the wonderful things you do for our hobby!`` One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VENEZUELA. 6205.028, May 5 at 0015, ROCV with tropical music, S5-S7 into Bonaire KiwiSDR. For one day last week it shifted to 6216, reported by Manuel Mendez (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, May 5 at 0215: 855 is the only detected stepping thru every 9-kHz, vs considerable local and storm noise levels. Likely Spain RNE1 with 10 synchros totaling 445 kW, headed by one 300; altho Romania has a single 400 too (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 5040.8, May 5 at 0020, RHC has a het on the plus side as heard by Bonaire SDR; no known such broadcasters. India should be about to open but not so off-frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0504 UT May 5 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Tuesday, May 04 2021
** COLOMBIA. 4940, May 3 at 0603, song at S9, stronger than usual direct, often JBA, the still fuzzy outlet which runs all night and presumably all day with good signals into Bonaire remote, from Maicao for Venezuela, known as La Montaña, or Montana, or Fuerza de Paz as the ministry website programming source succeeding the 5910 & 6010 stations (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6165, May 3 at 0559, RHC English is off; 6060 and 6000 and 5040 are also off now, so the final English hour or fraxion gets only one frequency and a bad one: 6100 is S9+30 with humbuzz like used to be on 6060, likely same transmitter moved. Something`s always wrong at RHC. Note: Richard Langley heard RHC say on UT May 2 that their English broadcasts are now two hours long instead of just one repeating over and over in our evenings, perhaps due to their 60th anniversary, but a permanent change? Years ago they were more than one hour long. But what about the single-hour blox at 1900 & 2300? Expanded plus or minus? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15370, May 3 at 1948, RHC 1900 English is here, S9+10/20 but undermodulated, while scheduled 15140 is absent. Maybe make-do while the other transmitter be down? You never know what RHC will do next. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KOREA NORTH. 11710, May 3 after 0600, stilted French from VOK now propagating fairly; one wonders if their announcers had book-larnin` only. Aoki/NDXC does not show this broadcast, but WRTH B-20 sked showed French at 06-07 on 11735, 13760 and 15180 for Latin America, even tho it`s the middle of the night in Guiana French and the Windward & Leeward Islands! BTW, Martinique is Windward, Guadeloupe is Leeward. EiBi shows instead CRI in Mandarin to SE Asia this hour on 11710, but no sign of that here. The Bulgarian DX Blog sked for A-21 also shows those three for VOK and not 11710. Same for Arnulf Piontek, Berlin, who seems to have inside sources at VOK. So we have NEWS about a rare change for VOK! Also a weak signal on 11680, which would be domestic program (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MALI. 15125, May 3 at 1705, CRI scheduled in Swahili via Bamako, but doesn`t sound much like Swahili, maybe corrupted by Chinese accent. // 13645 listed is OFF. And so is 15125 at 1712*-*1722; all talk instead of music I was seeking (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NEW ZEALAND [and non]. 7168-LSB, May 3 at 0627, ZL4RMF, Dunedin, audible but weaker than contact KN6GPR who says he visited Dunedin last year but can`t remember how to pronounce it. Hint: it does not refer to noisy sand. ZL4RMF: Ron Falconer. See his antennas on a hilltop: https://www.qrz.com/lookup/zl4rmf KN6GPR: Lynden L Williams, Tehachapi, CA 93561-5431 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7254.9+, May 3 at 0558, VON IS at S9+10/20, sporadically active here again when it blasts into N America, presumably about to start Hausa hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2084 monitoring: Re the Sat May 1 WOR scheduled on WRMI 15770 at 1300: ``as often, missed due to sleeping the May 1 Sat 1300 on WRMI 15770, so hope to see some confirmation of it later.`` ``Hi Glenn, I was listening to this, it came on at 1300 but went off after about a minute or so and it was then WRMI fill in music and jingles till 1330 when SW Radiogram took over. Looked like some sort of computer hitch which switched to the backup. Alan Gale``, UK, ptsw iog Since the UT Fri 0130 was replaced by something else, this means that there were no airings of WOR on WRMI until Sunday 2300, three days after produxion! More encouragement to listen online, as a podcast ASAP, altho I try to hold shortwave primary. Furthermore there are now no scheduled SWBCs after Sunday night = early UT Monday --- until Wednesday: Next: 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 2200 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Ron Howard, Monterey, California, in memory of Noel Green, for a check to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, and Ron says, ``Appreciate all the wonderful things you do for our hobby!`` One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, May 3 at 1510, WRMI is still on with TOM, Scourby Bibling, then old BS hystairical, // stronger 9395. Sometimes 9955 stays on after 1430 for this, sometimes not (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0432 UT May 4 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

My first sporadic E FM DX opening of the season/year, May 2, all times UT!! interrupts my listening to `Feminine Fusion` at 2105-2205 on 90.1 KUCO, on the DX-390. Normally the only weaker QRM is KHCC Radio Kansas, Hutchinson, but: 2140, 90.1, ``South Carolina Public Radio``, could be program credit on some other P.R. station; but has Es fading. With KUCO nulled as much as possible I am also getting KHCC vs this one, KHCC with `Thistle & Shamrock` which comes from NC, not SC. Also an NPR news break which would not be during T&S. It so happens there are two SCPRs on 90.1, Greenville in the NW corner and Conway in the E corner, as researched later in the WTFDA FM Database, inserting those listings with each possible log: WHMC-FM 90.1 CONWAY SC NEWS/TALK SOUTH CAROLINA PUBLIC RADIO 63.0 213.0 33-56-58 79-06-31 FFFF WHMC - Public [1076 mi] [OR:] WEPR 90.1 GREENVILLE SC NEWS/TALK/CLASSICAL SOUTH CAROLINA PUBLIC RADIO 84.0 361.0 34-56-29 82-24-38 A6CF WEPR 90.1 SC Public Radio News Music News [875 mi] Most of our non-comm FM channels are blocked or semi-blocked, so I hope the MUF is going above 92 and start hunting on the DX-398 I also have at hand, with whip antenna only constantly being manipulated. There are lots of OK & KS fringe stations on ``open`` channels which have to be recognized, minimized or avoided. As FM Es continues during the next hour, 22-23 UT, I also have to miss `Uncle Bill`s Melting Pot` on WBCQ with Mongolian throat-singing which I was really looking forward to; and there is no way to hear it later --- except the first half repeat Monday at 2300-2330. 2146: 92.1, C&W music, ID as ``--- 92``, Es fading; 2159 almost time for ID when a YL gospel huxter overrides, but I do get a partial ID of W,P,H at 2200, and Fox ``news``. 2202 the g.h. It so happens that per the April 1 program sked, Sun 17-18 on 12160 is supposed to carry The Overcomer. I wonder if that have expired and so turned off the transmitter rather than fill with something else. Reminds me, I have been intending to quote the following, as all kinds of contradictory info has been coming out about whether or how far in advance TOM is paid up at various stations: ``[WOR] Glitch at WRMI? Apr 25 at 5:16 AM --- Both 5850 and 5950 had dead air at 0507 tune in, but a few seconds later, there was an announcement from the Overcomer Ministry that the programs were paid up until October, and what happens after that is solely dependent on funding. Dead air again at 0509 and still so at 0516 UTC. Dead air continued until 0541:58 when Overcomer resumed. 73, Walt Salmaniw, Victoria BC`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1948 UT May 2 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

I have sent emails to Joy 2 times : the first was a reception with radio the second time was with my SDR last month The report has been resent later with no response Today for personal reasons I could only receive them via a nearby SDR in Thessaloniki
> JOY does not react to emails created in command stan.what is that? Marconi neither answered to me for a transmission a few months ago I was possibly their only listener ! ---- --I hope with SDRs he means receivers available via web, because as many others also I have used only SDRs as my only radios for almost a decade.
