** CUBA. 5040, July 8 at 0536, open carrier of S8-S9: could it be Vanuatu? Too weak for Cuba and too strong for Van, but since there is a JBA carrier on 7260 now, RV presumed back on that sked, and Havana must be ailing, where something is always wrong (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 13638 & 13762 approx., July 8 at 1443, RHC weak spurblobs with music in FM and F# tone above Cmiddle as usual, out of 13700-AM which is S9/+10. But the second orders JBA circa 13826 and trace 13576 bear a lower tone of C#, never noted before. Hz equivalents are approx. 370 & 270. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EAST TURKISTAN. 15665, July 8 at 0528, JBA talk, listed as CRI Russian via Urumqi at 04-06 --- a ``midnight sun`` log from the land of ChiCom genocide against Uighurs and other Moslems (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. Level-3 tropo blob predicted over N Central OK as far as OKC brings in some LPTVs not normally visible. My antenna is now only the roof-mounted ch 7+ VHF/UHF permanently aimed SSE toward OKC. Back element reflector is a bit loose but taped up. This is UT Thursday July 8 from 0315. RF 28, Ion 44-1 which would be Tulsa RF 35? KUOK PSIP seen briefly but should be 36? Saved by STB? The real KUOK in Woodward is RF 36 & virtual 36; while the OKC version, KUOK-CD is now also on RF 36 & virtual 36. What we normally see on virtual 36-1 is really from the full-power KTUZ-29 Shawnee transmitter also with 30-1 as competing Telemundo, and 48-1 as Estrella TV. BAD signals on 26, 22, 21, 20, 15, 11 At 0328: RF 35, 35-1 with credits from NFB Canada film about native matters; FNX logo but no other explicit ID nor any on the PSIP, and into another First Nations program. This is solid on the STB into my old CRT TV, but on the Sanyo DTV screen, error message ``Scrambled Program``. No, it isn`t! Both my TVs are fed by splitting feed from same antenna. It holds up for about 15 minutes as I am tuning around. This is obviously K35MV-D licensed to Concho OK, which is just west of OKC, and have seen before. Non-ID is ``47.1 FNX``. Rabbitears.com say it is ``CATV 47``, presumably where it be found on Cox cable thruout? OKC. FNX has *368* affiliates thruout USA, mostly LP or translators but a real PBS station KNME Albuquerque included. More info from website linked at rabbitears: https://www.catv35.com/ ``Welcome! K35MV-D C&A TV - Cheyenne and Arapaho Television is proud to serve you! ABOUT US: Cheyenne and Arapaho Television- C&A TV is making history as the first Native American owned and operated broadcast TV station in the State of Oklahoma. It is one of only a handful of Native American TV Stations in the U.S. The establishment of K47MU-D Cheyenne and Arapaho Television was made possible by a Facilities Grant from NTIA. C&A TV is a low power Public Broadcast TV station broadcasting from the C&A Tribal Headquarters in Concho, OK since July 2012. In 2018 the FCC sold C&A TV's frequency to T-Mobile and required us to change our broadcast frequency and call letters. We are now channel 35.1 and have the call letters K35MV-D. K35MV-D Cheyenne and Arapaho Television – C&A TV provides 100% Native American television programming to our viewing audience 24/7 as well as serve our tribal members by providing local community and tribal government information, language education, and documenting our cultural events. C&A TV is a proud affiliate of the FNX Channel First Nations Experience. www.fnx.org Together with FNX, Cheyenne and Arapaho Television is providing Oklahoma with a rich cultural viewing experience to our Native as well as our Non-Native audience. It is our hope that we not only present positive and inspiring images of Native Americans but also that through cultural exposure and education, we foster a better appreciation and understanding between Oklahoma's Non-Native and Native communities. OUR MISSION: To preserve the history, language and culture of the Cheyenne and Arapaho people and to present programming that informs, educates, uplifts, inspires, and promotes their mental and physical well being. OUR VISION: CATV47 intends to provide the best Native American programming available in North America that will respect, honor and uplift the Native American peoples, traditions and cultures in general and whenever and however possible, the Cheyenne and Arapaho people specifically. * LANGUAGE: We will strive to preserve and promote use of the Cheyenne and Arapaho languages by producing original language education programming aimed at both children and adults. * ELDERS: We will honor and respect our tribal elders by capturing and preserving their stories and their wisdom. * CHILDREN AND YOUTH: We will produce Children’s programming that promotes a positive and healthy self-image by instilling a sense of pride in their culture and heritage. We will also produce youth programming that will promote healthy lifestyle choices ( to remain drug free and avoid alcohol abuse) as well as staying in school and promoting secondary education. * SOCIAL ISSUES INFORMATION: Provide information on resources and tribal programs for social issues that plague the tribe like suicide, alcohol abuse, depression, domestic and sexual abuse, drop-outs, teen pregnancy and unemployment. * CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING: It is our hope that through exposure to our television programming we may foster a better understanding and appreciation of Native American culture among the Non-Native cultures. We hope that C&A TV will not only continue to be a symbol of pride and accomplishment for the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes but also a source of quality Native American information and entertainment. C&A TV is a public, non commercial, educational TV station and depends on underwriting and generous gifts from viewers like YOU! Please click on the "DONATE" button and give what you can to help us to continue to provide you with this unique programming. Thank you for your generous gift! ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Wed July 7 at 1510 tune-in, LRA36 is underway, VP S1-S2 into Brasília #2 SDR, but much better S5-S8 into Pardinho SP, where from 1512 I camp upon someone already exactly tuned to it in McMinnville, Oregon. Tango in progress; same canned ID at every break between tunes, 1515, 1519, 1522, the ``Nacional Antártida Argentina -- la Radio Pública`` one. 1526 YL closing announcement credits Ministerio de Defensa, so this Base is hardly civilian; also acknowledges all the other LRAs around Argentina allegedly relaying. Do they pick it up off this SW frequency or cheat via satellite or web? Then OM s/off, and 1527-1531* Antártida song. No more mod, but back to Bsla #2 SDR off-tuned to 15475.0-USB, I can tell the reduced carrier stays on, JBA fading in and out making tone just less than 1000 Hz, and *still* on when SDR times out after 60 minutes at 1632, and I`ve had more than enough. Maybe they leave it on to keep the room warmer? Or electrical fluid is cheap? Hardly, nor maybe the Diesel to generate it. Often after ``s/off`` they continue with more programming but not today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHINA. CNR1 WOOB jammer survey July 7 at 1346: 13130 Chinese S2-S5; 13020 JBA; 12880 Chinese S2-S5; 12795 Chinese S3-S6; 12500 JBA carrier; 13530 JBA. I continue to be amazed that certain reporters keep claiming they are hearing Sound of Hope, blissfully ignorant of the much more likely jammers; and editors don`t correct/challenge (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. During Es opening hour July 7 at 17-18 UT, on caradio, see USA, I have to contend with nearby spoilers fading in and out, but FWIW some log info on them: 99.5, July 7 at 1726, ``Big Country 99.5`` = KXBL Henryetta. 99.3, July 7 at 1727 ``radio special`` food ad; probably 3 kW KLOR-FM Ponca City. 97.5, July 7 at 1732, sex counseling ad, ziprecruiter.com/radio; 1734 about recount so AZ maybe? but sports news mentions OU [why isn`t it UO = University of Oklahoma?]; 1735 possibly different station, rather clear ID as KFOD, but nonesuch even fuzzily rhyming, nor as AM call translated to FM; must have been merely KMOD Tulsa, tho not sports format. 104.5, July 7 at 1740, song with audio cutting out. Must be KZZW Mooreland = Woodward ``market`` if you can call such small towns that. No one at station paying attention? Woodward-Mooreland has a lot of FM stations for its size, due to isolation: 16 of them, 10 of which are full-power. 2010 population of Woodward was 12K; entire county was only 20K. It`s 136 km = 85 miles from the nearest metropolis, Enid with more than 4X the population; but 12 FM stations, only 4 of which are full power and one of those, 96.9 really funxions as an OKC station (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 7730, July 7 at 0538 UT, WRMI with trace of JBM on S9+20/30 signal while TOMBS is blasting in on 7570, etc. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2093 monitoring: did anyone hear the Wed 1030 on WRMI 5850? Confirmed Wed July 7 at 2100:21 on WBCQ 7490 minus 83 Hz per Maryland SDR = 7489.917, S7-S9. But NOT confirmed at same time on WRMI 7780 which is NOT on the air! Still off circa 2340; Okeechobee did not seem to be too close to the Elsa storm track. Next, and last: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: no new thanks this week for a MO or check in US funds on a US bank, to: Glenn Hauser, Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com. New WOR 2094 should be ready for download by early UT July 9 and first SW airings Friday at 0130 on WRMI 5850 & if on air then, 7780 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5010, July 7 at 1116, JBA here and not 5015, presume WRMI back on non-wrong frequency, as reported by Ivo 23 hours before. Still no reply from Jeff about this; usually when he does not reply to a direct inquiry it means there is something negative he would rather not discuss (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also SOUTH CAROLINA [non] ** U S A. 15825, July 7 at 1351, WWCR-1 is Just Barely Modulated, or to be charitable, very undermodulated. I have no way of quantifying such judgments. Have to turn volume way up (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Sporadic E patch MUF 94 MHz over New Mexico, so looks promising for westward DX; on caradio in garage I start at 1707 UT July 7: 87.75, July 7 at 1707, first thing tuned is Spanish! Slightly better on 87.7 than 87.9; likely a FrankenFM, which will have to drop dead on July 13 when everything has to be DTV, with a few exceptions such as remote Alaska. Two women conversing, first about TicToc; 1712 about Puerto de Veracruz, so could it be a lingering full-power analog Mexican TV channel 6? Probably not: is religious plugging a `conexión de verano con Jesús`` el 11 de julio; 1715 fading in and out. Mentions guadaluperadio.com and program is `Mujeres de Fe`. Then I`m scanning upband; by 1728, 87.7 is fading, gone by 1737 and not much more in the next semihour. Uplooked later in the WTFDA FM Database, only hitfit is: ``KSFV-LP 87.7 SAN FERNANDO VALLEY CA Spanish RELIGIOUS GUADALUPE RADIO 3.0 kW horiz. only, 0.0 meters HAAT! 34-12-46 118-03-42 A41F`` 1876 km = 1166 st mi city to city per distancefromto.net 94.1, July 7 at 1710, something in English trying to get past 94.3. 93.1, July 7 at 1717 CCI to KS in English, 1718 MontsterMedia.com of Yuma = https://www.monstermediayuma.com/ so it is no doubt: ``KLJZ 93.1 YUMA AZ HOT AC Z-93 TODAY'S BEST MUSIC 100.0 kW H&V only 25.0m HAAT 32-39-06 114-39-04 2E0F`` 1584 km = 984 statute miles. Also ads for casino, summer splash at San Luis AZ; CCI: 93.1, July 7 at 1720, ``93-1 The Mountain, Valley traffic`` on Las Vegas Blvd. I bet it`s the one in NV: ``KYMT 93.1 LAS VEGAS NV HD ROCK 93.1 THE MOUNTAIN 23.5 kW H&V 1183.0 m HAAT 35-57-55 115-30-00 18CF 93-1 The Mountain World Class Rock Adult Hits`` 1545 km = 960 stmi. Site is SW of LV closer to the CA border where there are a couple of mountains higher than that. 97.3, July 7 at 1722 strong briefly, national ads getroman.com, GEICO, get a 97.3 app, 1725 sports talk about CBS, probably this: ``KWFN 97.3 SAN DIEGO CA HD SPORTS 97.3 THE FAN 50.0 kW H&V 134.0 m HAAT 32-43-13 117-04-14 4AA7 97.3 The Fan The FAN, San Diego's Only FM Sports Station Sports`` It also has a bunch of co-channel boosters under 100 watts elsewhere in southern California. SD = 1810 km 1024 mi 99.5, July 7 at 1753, ``Real Country`` slogan. No exact hits on that in WTFDA but Google search on slogan and MHz leads to KXPL Las Cruces NM whose main brand is Zia Country; but that`s a bit too close, 934 km = 580 stmi; and to KHAZ Hays KS, more likely fringe scatter signal, 304 km = 189 stmi. Some others seem Okie spoilers, q.v. ** CHINA. 13640, July 6 at 2210 talk in Japanese, S1-S6, but not NHK: soon ID as ``Kochirawa Pekin Hoso`` = CRI via Jinhua 831 site more or less USward far beyond (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6060, July 6 at 0620, RHC English with big humbuzz atop English; 6100 undermodulated; 6165, 6000, 5040 all off. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140 & 11760, July 6 at 1421, no signals from these RHCs; 9710 music poor, and 9535 JBA carrier, at least on. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KASHMIR [non]. 15170, July 6 at 1500, ``Kashmir Civitas`` ID in passing shortly after opening in presumed Urdu via Romania; another weekly Tuesday clandestine, S9+15 into UTwente. BTW, Civitas is pronounced Sivitas, not Kivitas as in klassical Latin; but what has any Latin to do with this? Caroline, and Good Morning Vietnam. Show is going on hiatus for a while after this one, he says (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5010, July 7 at 0139, WRMI-14 poor here in noise, not 5015, altho Ivo Ivanov found it on ``wrong`` 5015 in the July 6 morning at 1210 & 1230 via Boca Ratón SDR. Must check that July 7 in the 11-14 UT span. Still so past 0200+; hey Ted, haven`t you noticed something`s slightly wrong? Don`t you even listen raptly to your benefactor? Recheck at 0219, now carrier stays on. 5085 meanwhile, WTWW-2, July 7 at 0145, carrier still jittery but nowhere near as bad as 5830; yet obviously defective (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A.
