Logs
Fixing typo - new measurement really 2959.842, not .942, fixed:

UNIDENTIFIED. 2959.842, March 2 at 0207, JBA carrier, suspected second
harmonic of a 1480-minus station. Later checked my previous log to
find independently measured within 3 Hz:

``UNIDENTIFIED. 2959.839, Feb 22 at 0349, JBA carrier unseems birdie,
again suspecting a second harmonic from a Latin American MW 1479.9195
but nothing that far off in mwoffsets`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs March 1-2, 2021  View Printable Version
Tuesday, March 02 2021

Logs
** OKLAHOMA. 341-MCW kHz, March 2 at 0215 UT, ND beacon EI, Enid, is
back on! Had been off since February 9, leaving the channel to OIN
and/or DNI in KS & TX. Here`s a reception map for EI:
https://www.classaxe.com/dx/ndb/rna/signal_map_na/1360

That leaves 255 SW Stillwater still AWOL, as well as for much longer,
515 PN Ponca City (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** PANAMA. 18150-USB, March 1 at 2015* tune-in just in time for HP9SAM
to go QRT. No fonetix, thought at first HP9FAM, but there is none,
rather per QRZ.com: ``HP9SAM Panama flag Panamá, Stephen A. Myers,
Pocri, Province of Los Santos 0758, Panama --- The town is 1/2 the
distance between Las Tablas and the surfer hangout of Pedasi. It is
3/4 the way down the Azuero peninsula on the Eastern side. This is
literally a "cow town" as the cows are driven through town 2 or 3
times a year to change pastures.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** PERU. 4775.05, March 2 at 0150, lively vocal music vs lite CODAR,
S8-S9 better signal than usual from presumed R. Tarma; 0158 Spanish
announcement probably full ID, including ``1,110 kHz``; 0200 some
Andean music. Checking the Progreso Cuban 4765 spurblob range,
4781-4785 so not a problem for this, but when I get back to 4775+ at
0205, it`s off, just when I was going to refine its frequency to third
digit. Is 1110 a match for their MW? No, per
http://www.radiotarma.com/informaciongeneral/
it`s 1510 but in VP reception, quinientos easily mistaken for ciento.
WRTH shows evening span of 0.5 kW OCX4E on weekdays as 2200-2400 only.
No het as Brazilian is long gone from almost same frequency.

BTW, WRTH 2021 page 315 shows 5 F.Pl = future plan Peruvian SW
stations on: 3270, 3295, 4800, 4935, 6090 --- be on the listen-out
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SWAZILAND. 9584.968, March 1 at 1510, African language S9-S5 and
off-frequency-minus. Aoki shows TWR Africa, Manzini in Malagasy M-F at
1455-1525; same span Sat/Sun it`s French (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2075 monitoring: confirmed Monday
March 1 from 1900:58 on IRRS 7290 via Bulgaria via UTwente SDR
Holland; S8-S9 with usual heavy bilateral splash. Earlier, carrier on
at *1853:22; IRRS sign-on with Milano PO Box at 1859:50, Feature Story
News headlines at 1900:28. Within a few minutes, considerable fadedown
making it really unlistenable, skip lengthening? So I try an Iceland
SDR, but that`s too far, very weak. Then at 1915, Carlow, Ireland,
KiwiSDR, which is just right, S9+10/15. Next:

1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
2300 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html

Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary
financial support: thanks this week to Chuck Ermatinger, now in
Eureka! Missouri, who has sent two contributions via PayPal to woradio
at yahoo.com - not necessarily US funds

One may also contribute via MO or check in US funds on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, USA (Glenn Hauser, WOR)

** U S A. 9955, Mon Mar 1 at 1518, world music, Chinese? ballads
instead of scheduled Brother Scare, interrupted by Bob Biermann to
intone, ``Memories are the music from WRMI``. TOMBS still nearby on
9980 WWCR, whew! The anti-ChiCom, pro-Falun Gong, `Freedom Synergy
Radio` used to appear in this slot (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. TRSW eQSL received without direct request, for 0328 UT Feb
28 via WBCQ 6159.93:

our program via WBCQ. He thinks you'd enjoy the music if you listened

Logs
WORLD OF RADIO HITLIST updated:
http://www.w4uvh.net/hitlist.htm
just a few changes by Alan Roe concerning Taiwan, UK. Next edition
mid-March concerning American DST changes

** CUBA. Sunday February 28 at 2338, I`m tuning known RHC Spanish
frequencies at Bonaire SDR, about to monitor `En Contacto` to tell if
Arnie is back or mentioned at all? But they are *all* unusable! 13740
is strongest at S9+5 but extremely suptorted with listener postal
addresses --- it`s not QSL OTA but the ending of `Mundo de la
Filatelia`, stamp collectors trading.

`En Contacto` does not start until 2343, but I give up for now and
attend UBMP on 7490 webcast, music from Uganda. The other RHCs: 11760
like 13740; 11850 & 13680 crackly; 11670 off; 9650 & 9535 weak.
Recheck at 0005 March 1: now mod is OK on 13740, 13680 is off, 11850
suptorted, 11760 semi-suptorted.

Next and final `EC` airing is ~3 hours later. This week starts UT Mon
at 0237 when I find 5040 VG into Bonaire; ham DXpedition late in
March; 0243 PJ2LJG Curaçao speaks Spanishish about something; 0245
CO7SF; 0246 from studio about clima espacial, pronóstico hasta 20 de
marzo; 0240 quick QSL en el aire to someone in Bogotá, closing theme
with flute/CW already, with no credits, Arnaldo never mentioned,
finished in time for `Doctor` show to start at 0250.6 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 4060-USB [only], e-QSL soon received Feb 28 from
Voice of Pancho Villa, alternating pink & purple letters, for 0432
2-28, illustrating ``Cocina de Prueba de Tamales Secretos de
Pancho!``:
https://www.w4uvh.net/VOICE_OF_PANCHO_VILLA_QSL_GlennHauser_2021.jpg
or #113 via:
http://www.worldofradio.com/QSL.html
with this note: ``VOPV QSL --- Thank you sir for tuning in to the
show! 73 Pancho`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Earthquake report: as I was semi-napping and listening to
`Wind & Rhythm` band music show on KUCO 90.1, my bed shook for maybe 3
seconds, at 2138:56 UT Feb 28. Later consulting USGS: it was a mag
3.7, 3 km SE of Meno OK, which is the second town just west of Enid on
412/60, 7.2 km deep, at 2138:38 UT. So it took about 18 seconds to be
felt here. There was another weaker one several hours earlier in
southern OK, unfelt. Time for more fracking crackdowns (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 392-MCW kHz, March 1 at 0502, ND beacon FMZ, which is 25
watts from Fairmont - Beklof, Nebraska, or spelt sdrawkcab, Aksarben,
Folkeb - Tnomriaf; with QRM from DDP Puerto Rico on 391. If the call
were also reversed, it would be ZMF, or in CW, ЮMЛ (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2075 monitoring: Sunday February 28
at 2258, WBCQ Area 51 is but a JBA carrier on 6159.93. A few minutes
before 2329, I try to hear the 2300 airing on remotes: at Alexandria
VA, algo, me? JBA S9 including noise level, but enough to display SAM
carrier offset from 6160.00 as minus 85v Hz. Rockport ME expected to
be in skip zone, no good, yet shows offset minus 48v. Is it really on
the air or not, and if so, is WOR on it? The A51/61 webcast is silent,
but the 7490 cast with UBMP is OK, so I can listen to that the rest of
this hour, and retrieve the first half UT Tue at 0000. BTW, last week,
U. Bill mentioned this fact just before the first half ended for those
who were about to get lost on the semi-repeat. Only after 0003 March 1
do I recheck on my own main rx: surprisingly, now 7490.2 is S9/+10 and
6159.9 is also S9/+10. Maybe recovering from a propagation
disturbance, as WWV reported K-index rising from 2 to 3 between 21 and
24 UT.

WOR 2075 confirmed UT Monday March 1 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG S9+30
direct, following double ID at 0029 by Zanotti & Graham.

Also confirmed UT Mon Mar 1 at 0230 on WRMIs 5800, S9+15/20 to Bonaire
SDR; 7780 S9+20/30 but not making it TA to UTwente. Also confirmed on
WRN webcast a few seconds behind those which were only an echo apart.
Next:

1901 UT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
2300 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

financial support: thanks this week to Chuck Ermatinger, now in

at yahoo.com - not necessarily US funds

One may also contribute via MO or check in US funds on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, USA (Glenn Hauser, WOR)

** U S A. Re Shortwave Shindig in Exile, more ways to hear it:
``My recording of the program via 7780 kHz may be found here:
https://shortwavearchive.com/archive/shortwave-shindig-in-exile-via-wrmi-february-27-2021

and here:
https://archive.org/details/shortwave-shindig-in-exile-via-wrmi-7.780-mhz-27-february-2021-0200-utc
-- Richard Langley, NB`` (WOR iog via gh, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, March 1 at 0437, gospel huxter, poor signal not
certain in English, peaks S9/+10 on generous meter but must also be
undermodulated; and also with heavy flutter. I guess WRNO which I
haven`t had a good signal from in a long time. Similar flutter infects
9385 WEWN, 9395 WRMI, even 9330 WBCQ tho a bit stronger, among others.
Propagation disturbance (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 560 KWTO, 580 WIBW, 700 WLW, 720 WGN, 840 WHAS, 1040 WHO,
1100 WTAM, 1110 KFAB, 1200 WOAI, 1540 KXEL, UT Monday March 1 before
and after 0500, all these stations ganging up but way out of synch,
with some creep trying to convince us that Pres. Biden is mentally
incompetent. Most IDs obvious, some presumed. Checking a few program
schedules, the creep is Bill Cunningham, and most of them are iHeart
stations. Tnx a lot (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
