Glenn Hauser logs March 10, 2021 |

Friday, March 12 2021
![Logs](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/logs.gif) ** CUBA. 11845, March 12 at 1540 Cuban pulse jamming against nothing, despite Radio Martí having abandoned this frequency some years ago. Something`s always wrong at the incompetent and wasteful DentroCuban Jamming Command. Other broadcasters may be on to them: HFCC B-20 shows absolutely nothing scheduled on 11845. But EiBi has another jammer country, China`s CNR2 at 0100-0855 via x site. See also TURKEY [and non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** GUATEMALA. On March 12 I wrote to Radio Verdad: ``Dr Madrid, We miss your SW signal on 4055. What are the prospects for getting it back on the air from Guatemala? Regards, Glenn Hauser`` Quickly replied: ``Dear Glenn: Thank you for your concern. We are planning to repair one power module next Tuesday, in order to come back on air with 280 watts. I have acquired the mica insulators we needed for the power transistors. I am sending the other two modules to Canada to be repaired by Eng. Wayne Ralph Borthwick. The delay has been caused by the extreme negligence of our Technician. May God be with you and keep you with a good health. Dr. Édgar Amílcar Madrid, Radio Truth, Chiquimula, Guatemala, C. A.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [and non]. 6125, March 12 at 0430, VOT Turkish music filling out English hour to N America, but with heavy pulse-jamming QRM adding up to S9+10/20. Of course it`s overrun from Cuba after Radio Martí quit at 0400*. Clueless TRT frequency management has not grasped it should avoid any Martí frequency even when itself be finished. Nor 9830 hitting RTTY after 2200 in the A seasons which I bet they are about to resume. Something`s always awry at Ankara (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2077 monitoring; next: 1300 UT Saturday WRMI 15770 to NE 2030vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 2230 UT Saturday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 2300 UT Saturday WRMI 7780 to NE 0400vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0415; as late as 0500] [DST starts between these times] 2200vUT Sunday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW [ex-2300?] 2300 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to NE [new] 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW 0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE, 5800 to SSE 1901 UT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW [ex-2200] 2200 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE [ex-2300] 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Michael Rutkaus, K4GET, Winchester VA, for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily in US funds One may also contribute via MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5800, Friday March 12 at 0705, S9+20/10 of open carrier, got to be WRMI again on air during scheduled break for some reason, as last heard about same time on Monday Feb 22. Wonder if automation be mis-programmed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 12050, March 12 at 1538, S7-S9 of dead air in Spanish from WEWN; for at least a minute, so not merely long boring pause in a mass (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7890, March 12 at 0706, JBA S5-S6, maybe trace of modulation from presumed R. Vanuatu, 2 x 3945; also S4-S5 on 11835, 3 x 3945, the three of them now starting at 0700. I`ve been intending to seek previous fundamental 7260 until 0659 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 2959.85V, March 12 at 0330, JBA carrier again suspected of being second harmonic of an off-frequency 1480 station. As previously reported on almost same frequency: ``UNIDENTIFIED. 2959.842, March 2 at 0207, JBA carrier, suspected second harmonic of a 1480-minus station. Later checked my previous log to find independently measured within 3 Hz: UNIDENTIFIED. 2959.839, Feb 22 at 0349, JBA carrier unseems birdie, again suspecting a second harmonic from a Latin American MW 1479.9195 but nothing that far off in mwoffsets`` Meanwhile no one else has reported it; did anyone even try? So this time I quickly go over to the KiwiSDR net looking for it at numerous remotes around USA and S America --- nothing. So now I am concluding it really be birdie from a local device. Never mind (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 11342-USB, March 12 at 1542, 2-way, at first unID language but maybe heavily accented English from a flight, reply in real English mentioning phone patch and sending sel-call tones. But nothing more heard for 4 minutes. Numerous 11342 logs in UDXF iog up to 2018y as New York LDOC; tho maybe some other hub along whatever route this apply to. What does LDOC mean? Last Day Of Classes, Laying [sic] Down On Couch; or more likely, Long Distance Operational Control (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2216 UT March 12 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Glenn Hauser logs March 11-12, 2021 |

Friday, March 12 2021
![Logs](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/logs.gif) ** CUBA. 6180, March 11 at 0147, S9+20 of dead air on CRI relay, trace of underaudio maybe Brasil if not CRI JBM. Also some lite pulse jamming, maybe bleedover from Cuban neighbor transmitter. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** KOREA SOUTH [non]. 11880, March 12 at 0059, huge open carrier, S9+10/20 via Bonaire KiwiSDR, so quiet that I thought at first the tuner was muted. About 0059.7 a few notes of the Encompass IS so evidently routed via London; 0100 opening ``KBS World Radio`` pronounced in English, otherwise relay in Spanish. This was found by Ivo Ivanov as a new entry in HFCC B-20 for March 10-12 only as a test, but was heard yesterday until 0200 with a VG signal by JRX in Brasil who thinx it runs at least until March 28. Supposedly still on 9605 via WHRI at same hour, I did not get around to checking. Other frequencies were registered via Greenville but AFAIK never tried. We assume that KBS relay is due to switch from SC to NC, sometime. I understand it is on azimuth 164 from Grimesland (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 332-MCW kHz, March 11 at 0716 UT, unusually a third station mixing with IC Wichita KS and QT Thunder Bay ON, the latter weaker than usual as it normally exceeds IC despite being 10X further. Part of the call is overlapping, but ends with -IS. This is a likely fit: FIS, Key West - Fish Hook FL, 400 watts. I had another fishy log of this on Dec 14, over 2 megameters away vs TB at only 1.5 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 13565-CW, JBA vs CODAR, March 11 at 1451, K6FRC calls over and over, HIFER beacon in Patterson CA, every logging notable as it`s 1.8 milliwatts. Never traced much later in the day (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2076 monitoring: Monitored WRMI Sunday Evening / Monday Morning (UTC) 7780 kHz Schedule --- From my recording last Sunday evening, 7-8 March 2021 UTC (note additional airing of World of Radio at 23:00 UTC): 23:00 World of Radio (#2076; not Bringing Truth to Life) (Richard Langley, NB, March 10, WOR iog) New, now added to the sked grid. Has been 24 hours earlier Saturdays but not on grid, so both now, or moved? This would have been at same Sunday time as on Area 51 WBCQ 6159.93, but from March 14 that presumably shifts one UT hour earlier to 2200 UT, further into ever-increasing daytime absorption. I`m hoping A-21 skeds out shortly from HFCC will no longer show a WBCQ conflict with WHRI over 7490, so we can go back into the night at 0300 UT Mondays on 6160-. 7490 programming obligations had to be moved onto 6160. WOR 2076 also confirmed Wed March 10 at 1050 when I happened to awaken, the 1030 on WRMI 5850, VG. Also confirmed UT Thu March 11 at 0130 on WRMI 5010, S9 but noisy storm crashes from Iowa; also some storms vs Pardinho, Brasil SDR, S8-S9 at 0157 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. But overmodulated/distorted, continuous music past 0230 rather than frequent, or any, 93.7 IDs as before. Kiwi shows carrier varying around plus 26 Hz, very close to where I measured it directly a binite ago, +22 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2077) This report dispatched at 0240 UT March 12 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Glenn Hauser logs March 7, 2021 |
|
Thursday, March 11 2021
![Logs](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/logs.gif) ** CANADA [and non]. 269-MCW kHz, March 10 at 0726 UT, ND beacon UDE --- could it be a Cuban, all of which start with U-? No, this one alternates with a dash, so it`s Canadian, 50 watts from Delta MB.
DXinfocentre.com shows 16 U- Cubans, but all ``decommissioned`` except 250 in Habana - Playa Baracoa, UBP with 80 watts. Not even heard here. As in my previous compilation of Caribeacons, classaxe.com shows two still logged in Jan or Feb this year, 250 UBP and 339 UAH Santiago, and three more in 2020; but many more are not darkened yet. Lots have changed their U- callsigns over the years; for security? And/or miskeying. Something`s always wrong --- here, too (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9650, Mar 10 at 2007, S9+10 open carrier, SSOB; likely RHC warming up much earlier than nominal *2200 start and totally blocking any Guinea. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ERITREA [non]. 17545.061V, Wed Mar 10 at 1530, S4-S7 Bayto Yaikl clandestine via defective FRANCE transmitter, audibly wavarying as I try to measure it, roughly between 17545.049 and 17545.073. Semihour also only on Saturdays, brokered by RMI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SAUDI ARABIA. 11820.044, Mar 10 at 1940, continuous Qur`aning, S8 with a lot of deep fading to S5; as always, off-frequency, but seasonally showing up better again soporifically for my nap until switch at 2000 to plain Arabic talk; probably soon back to Qur`an (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 9690, March 10 at 2006, REE reactivated after missing this frequency for almost a week, S9/+10; so, good prospect for token English at 2300 W/F/M; now it`s a silly ballgame in Spanish. Yes, at 2309, guitar-singers featured by Justin Coe on VG S9+10 into Bonaire. Pedro Sedano sends planned A-21 sked showing 9690 replaced by 17855 for North America, total span 1400/0200. Should be good over daypaths, but much lower needed over nightpaths, like 9690. Wolfgang Bueschel shows alternative version, changing to 9690 at 2200; we hope (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2076 monitoring: confirmed Wed Mar 10 at 2100 on WRMI 7780, S7-S9 into UTwente SDR. Also confirmed Wed Mar 10 from 2200:21 on WBCQ 7490+, S7-S9 into KB0FX SDR in MO, but with some lightning crashes which Blitzortung shows can be no closer than southern MN and northern MI Also confirmed Wed Mar 10 at 2300 on WRMI 9955, S8/S9+10 into Bonaire SDR, atop jamming but losing out as the semihour progresses. Next: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Kelley Sprout, KB3LR, Hughesville PA, for a MO to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702. New WOR 2077 should be ready by early UT Fri March 12 for first airings at 0130 on WRMIs 5850, 7780 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 11825.020, March 10 at 1535, S4-S7 of M&W dialog, intonation sort of French but not sure. Nothing scheduled now in latest HFCC, Aoki or EiBi; tho RBAustralia may run until 1500*. Clew: another site, capable of offfrequenciness (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 11945, March 10 until 1538.4* shortly after tune-in to JBA signal with Doppler flutter. Nothing scheduled; maybe a pre-test for the next one, *1700 Japan via France?
