CHINA 13920, June 28 at 1359, tune-in just in time for CNR1 jammer
to timesignal and off 1400* --- but wait, there is now a much weaker
signal offset to the plus side but not measured. That could really be
Sound of Hope, Taiwan. Wolfie may have measured it precisely sometime,
but I haven`t found it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Logs
** CHINA. 13920, June 28 at 1359, tune-in just in time for CNR1 jammer
to timesignal and off 1400* --- but wait, there is now a much weaker
signal offset to the plus side but not measured. That could really be
Sound of Hope, Taiwan. Wolfie may have measured it precisely sometime,
but I haven`t found it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13740, 11850, 11760, 11670, June 28 at 2324, all these RHC
frequencies scheduled now are absent; but 9710 & 9535 audible, as are
CRI relays on 13650 and probably 11980 harmonic. Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SAUDI ARABIA. 17895.072, June 28 at 1437, Qur`an is JBA on always
off-frequency; even weaker JBA carrier on 17614.989, the pair
amounting to the only stations on band (OSOB) (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU [and non]. 7260, June 28 at 0543, JBA carrier, presumed R.
Vanuatu back on `normal` sked and about to QSY to 11835. So ahead of
time I park on 11834-USB to hear the carrier cut on, which it does at
*0559:31, still JBA vs high ~S9 local 24/7 line noise level.

[I called it in to OG&E a week ago and a guy came by only to tell me
that someone from OKC would have to come up and deal with it when they
get around to it. There used to be a powerline noise DF guy in Enid
but he`s moved on to a new position. Still QRX]

Ron Howard had reported RV AWOL from 7260/11835 for three days June
25-26-27, and had this Reply from Rob Wagner (Australia) on June 27:

``"Yes Ron. Here in mid-winter, I am hearing RV on 7260 for much of
the day from 0200 to s/off. My notes show that on June 25, RV was
there on 7260 at 0200 but gone when I checked that band again at 0310.
Irregular operations and I suspect technical difficulties. I have not
checked the other freqs. Rob"``

BTW, we would not be hearing RV on 7260 as early as 0330-0400, rather
VOA Somali via Vatican yet VG signal here way off-target, violating
Separation of Church and State (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 90.1, June 28 at 1518 UT, on household radio listening
to KUCO, briefly overcome by gospel huxter in English, i.e. sporadic E
trying to break thru, certainly not the usual CCI from also classical
Radio Kansas KHCC; and nothing close enough to do that by Vance
airplane scatter. So out to the car for DX bandscan, resulting in
zilch till I quit at 1537. There is lots of Es on DXMAPs, some spots
surpassing 90 or 100 MHz; and guys back east have DXed OK stations,
but I am not so lucky in reverse. But then I am not constantly
monitoring with a big antenna (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs June 27-28, 2021  View Printable Version
Monday, June 28 2021

Logs
** CUBA. 11850, June 28 at 0352, RHC undermodulation with pulsing
dropouts also bumping the carrier around. Exactly same thing on the
JBA carrier spur parasites 11840 & 11860. Something`s always wrong at
RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 9525, June 28 at 0339 ululating song from Dengê
Welat. Aoki shows 9525 via FRANCE at 0230-0600 & 1558-2100. But EiBi
shows 0230-0530 via France, and 1600-2100 via Moldova. No Turkish
jamming audible (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 7475, June 28 at 0332, anti-Christ pirate, Station
YHWH registers S9 but Josiah`s intonation on thin modulation is
unreadable vs noise level. Ran across him before getting Rick Barton`s
tip that he was very strong into AZ at 0325 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 93.9, June 27 at 1824 UT, open carrier, dead air in
$ tereo, no doubt my semi-local KIMY gospel huxter in Watonga. On the
caradio in a futile bandscan for sporadic E which is bouncing around
elsewhere. On the DX-398, KIMY signal attempts to energize RDS icon
but never an RDS display for definite ID. Still dead at later chex
such as 2317 UT. My God! Imagine how many souls have not been saved in
the meantime!! (I also have dead air vs stations on 95.1, but think
this be algo RF-feeder left on somewhere nearby.)

(BTW, the KIMY translator in Enid on 93.1, K266BR, I last heard May 6,
2013! with noise before it totally crashed, and then noted as of May
28, 2013 that it had been off for a few weeks. It`s still in the WTFDA
FM Database but now flagged as silent, so I suppose it`s still
licensed after 8! years?! Meanwhile, Enid lax any local translator of
any public radio station, tho I have suggested to one or two they
should go after this frequency. Meanwhile, it`s semi-open for DX,
fringely dominant KHMY Pratt KS, ``My 93.1`` with 100 kW and
identifying more as a Hutchinson station.) (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 5850 & 7570 & 7730, June 28 at 0325, Dead
Brother Hystairical, long ago, then more than ever apropos nickname,
audio is cutting out frequently for several seconds making him more
incomprehensible than ever via WRMIs; while not doing so on more or
less // 5890 WWCR & 7489 WBCQ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U K [non]. 9880, June 28 at 0336, Farsi talk keeps mentioning Iran,
good signal here. Aoki shows BBC via BULGARIA this hour among a
2.5-hour span involving 2 or 3 languages and switching among 4 sites.
Is that really necessary or somehow advantageous? No jamming audible.

9880 0200-0230 ARM BBC Pas Yerevan-Gav 1-7
9880 0230-0300 ARM BBC Dar Yerevan-Gav 1-7
9880 0300-0330 OMA BBC Pas Al Seela 1-7
9880 0330-0430 BUL BBC Per Kostinbrod( 1-7
9880 0430-0530 UAE BBC Per Al-Dhabbiya 1-7

BTW, Iran persecutes family of BBC Persian staff:
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-57599746
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2092 monitoring: NOT confirmed
Sunday June 27 at 2000 as scheduled on IRRS via AM Italia, 918 kHz, as
monitored via nearby Noale SDR: music keeps playing past 2001 and the
signal is weaker than usual, only S9+17. I let it run in the
background, and think I hear me at 2012, but turned up at 2015 it`s
their local YL ID ``Have a good listening``, and more music.

NOT confirmed Sunday June 27 at 2200 on Area 51 via WBCQ, 6159.878v. I
don`t get to check until 2227 when the air is dead on an S7-S9 carrier
into Maryland SDR; did not get webcast checked before WOR would have
ended at 2229. 6160- continues dead air past 2230 into HRI slot, but
at 2241 it`s now modulating and also webcasting. (Other WBCQ with
`UBMP` is S9 on 7488.861v.)

Confirmed Sunday June 27 at 2240 the 2230 on WRMI 9955, S9/+10 atop
Cuban pulse jamming.

Also confirmed UT Monday June 28 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, S9+10/20.

Also confirmed UT Monday June 28 at 0130 on WRN webcast to N America.

Also confirmed UT Monday June 28 at 0230 on WRMIs into Maryland SDR:
7780 VG S9/+20; 5800 S8/S9+10, but the latter better out here. Nexts,
not until Wednesday:

1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
2200 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary
support: thanks to Gerald T Pollard, Raleigh NC, for a generous
quarterly check in US funds on a US bank starting each season, to:
Glenn Hauser, Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds,
to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5050, June 28 at 0016 on caradio, memory stops on a loud
dial tone! Then dead air for at least two minutes 0018+; typical for
WWRB on its weekend-only ``schedule`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 750, June 27 at 2233 UT, on caradio a few miles N of Enid on
US60/64/81 - northward, eastward and westward at same time all on the
same rough stretch of 2-lane highway but being improved? I can get
some music, probably gospel in Spanish, vs 740 KRMG splash and storm
noise. It`s KMMJ, Grand Island, NE, which resumed recently after
months of silence, with new owner and format.

LSS for June and July is 0200 UT, as late as it can be for this
strange station, so I`m relistening on the DX-398 from 0152 UT June
28. Definitely loops N/S, fortunately just in the null E/W WSB which
is gaining by now. YL is singing a slow song which could be mistaken
for sad romantic, but surely of praise; can`t make out much of the
lyrix. Chops off the air at 0200* sharp, no ID, no goodbye until
tomorrow, certainly no formal sign-off. How rude! Who cares? This dog
is being wagged by its FM translator tail which does not sign off.

Here`s a story about the new KMMJ, site good for regional radio news:

https://www.northpine.com/blog/2021/06/21/spanish-christian-format-launches-in-nebraska/
I see the radio-locator.com is up to date except you`d never know it
is in Spanish!

FCC classifies KMMJ as 10.5 kW direxional same pattern day and night,
and UNLIMITED, but it still has to go off at official local sunset.
https://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/amq?list=0&facid=9937
NRC classifies it L3, as direxional and ``limited time`` annotated as
signing-on not at its own sunrise or PSRA, but at *Atlanta* sunrise,
which in June and July is 1030 UT. Why bother? Pattern is irregular
but a notch toward Atlanta and majorish lobes to north and southwest
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1370, June 27 at 2339 UT on caradio a few miles N of Enid,
is enough to audiblize ``1370 KGNO`` Dodge City KS which I can`t get
in Enid on groundwave (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs June 27, 2021  View Printable Version
Sunday, June 27 2021

Logs
** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey, June 27 at 1411: 13530 JBA; rest JBA
carriers on known frequencies: 13160, 13130, 16100; none in the 11 MHz
WOOB area (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 13820, June 27 at 1349, residual pulse jamming
against nothing since this is R. Martí`s B-season-only frequency; now
it`s blasting in on 13605, obscuring here any possible jamming.
Something`s always wrong at the DentroCuban Jamming Command (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ETHIOPIA [non]. Re June 25 report: ``I too had the white noise
jamming on 17750 after 1500 today via UTwente, and a JBA carrier amid
it. Are we only assuming 17750 has to be for Ethiopia since it`s
jammed this way? Nothing listed anywhere. In EiBi I find this which we
need to check whether still on 17870 - might have moved.
``1500 1600 ETH DimtseTigray MediaHouse TIG EAf 17870/F[RANCE]``

17750, June 27 at 1515, via UTwente again JBA carrier amid DRM-like
noise jamming. More of the understation is audible via Kuwait SDR,
1521 HOA music and reverb announcement. At both locations there is
*no* signal on 17870, so further evidence that the 17750 transmission
is the one listed for 17870: Dimtse Tigray Media House.

17750 programming and jamming have continued past 1600, 1645+ unlike
the one-hour ex-17870 schedule from 1500.

Wolfgang Bueschel was also monitoring, and convinced the jamming is
from the Gedja, Ethiopia site. He and I both heard a few seconds`
pause in jamming at 1530 for them to reconfirm target still running.

How effective could jamming from inside Ethiopia be on such a high
frequency due to skip zone? Could the Ethiopians be getting help from
an outside site?

Toward the end, 17750 programming well audible into Kuwait until cut
off at 1658*. Noise remains but now is not the jamming which may have
stopped earlier (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 13565-CW, June 27 at 1351, K6FRC HIFER beacon repeating
nothing but ham callsign, JBA vs CODAR swirshes. Bandscan across here
virtually every morning unfinds its 1.8 milliwatts, so whenever
audible is notable, and always around 1400. On June 3 I had a trace of
CW but not definite ID like today. Last log previous to that was May 9
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15825, June 27 at 1417, WWCR-1 gospel huxter is the SSOB
rather than JBA, tnx to sporadic E boost; enough to tell that it`s a
bit overmodulated, distorted, but no squeal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
