Logs
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Sat July 10 at 1453 tune-in via
Pardinho, Brasil KiwiSDR, LRA36 underway with talk. I`m ``camping`` on
someone in Frankfurt/Main already tuned to 15476.00-USB. By 1522
they`re off and I`m on directly. Talk about Antarctica, saludos,
despedidas, 1523 theme song. But NOT off, 1526.4 starts other music as
I am distracted by FM DX chase in the car. 1620 recheck still on with
songs. 1630 headlines, music, ``Nacional Antártida Argentina, en todo
el país, la radio pública`` ID; 1651 contact info, talk about some
anniversary. Still past 1700, 1713 songs at S4-S5; 1723 closing
credits, 1724 themesong, 1727.5 more music, really running late today,
1749, or was it 1744 I scribbled, stops without formal sign-off, and
reduced carrier is also turned off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR0

** CUBA. 5025, July 10 at 0557, R. Rebelde is S9+20/30 but
undermodulated. Tuning up to 5040 for RHC I can`t read the meter
before it cuts off at 0557.5*. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15370, July 10 at 2248, RHC is S7-S8 but very undermodulated.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7254.943, July 10 at 0552, VON is on already with
undermodulated music. I also measured it on 7254.93, 15 months ago, so
its degree of offness quite steady and reliable. Whether this
transmitter be on air at all quite another matter (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2094 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
July 10 at 1300 on WRMI 15770, S8-S9 direct.

Also confirmed Sat July 10 at 1624 the 1600 on WRN webcast to NAm.

Also confirmed Sat July 10 from 1800:38 on IRRS 7290 via UTwente SDR,
4 seconds behind Italia AM 918 via Noale SDR. Altho presumably fed by
same studio playout, very different audio results. Good fi on 918 but
lower fi and rough on 7290, the latter also boosting my breaths as if
I were gasping every few seconds, while they are unnoticeable on
original recording and 918.

Earlier on 7290: 1749 tune-in just as Iran? ends but S7 warble on plus
side; LSB reads S5 with noise level, but trace of a carrier presumably
Chinese for a bit longer. 1759.8 JIP Aïda theme about a minute after
it had started on 918, brief IRRS sign-on, pause and WOR playback.

Earlier on 918: at 1757 UT, 6:00 timecheck by WUSB Stony Brook NY and
time for `Off the Wall`, but 1758.8 switch to ``Triumphal March from
Aïda`` theme of IRRS; steady S9+17 at near-local range. 918 WOR is
running about 4 seconds ahead of 7290 WOR via two different SDRs.

Over on both before 1830, into gospel huxter; then I check UTwente for
2nd harmonic on 14580 and can detect a trace of it.

Not confirmed Sat July 10 circa 1930 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO; checked
at 1955, the near local KB0FX KiwiSDR is offline! And none closer than
KS, IL or IN, which are not getting it in the daytime.

Confirmed Sat July 10 at new time 2000 on WRMI 15770, VG S9+10/15 into
Maine SDR; and S9-S7 into UTwente so this worx too for Europe.

I`ve not been checking every week but do so this time for the
webcast-only of WOR by NEXUS/IBA/IRRS/IPAR scheduled for Saturday 2330
via https://www.nexus.org/mp3/ --- There is still `Feature Story News
Week in Review` first from 2330.5, delaying WOR start until 2333.8.
Which means this always-29-minute program needs to play until 2402.8.
But the last few minutes are still chopped off: fades down to dead air
at 0000.4, comes back for a few sex, and then music fill which should
be totally disposable. I wish they would either put the FSN somewhere
else or let WOR play till finished. Next:

0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0400]

Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary
support: thanks this week to Moises Corilloclla, Rego Park NY, for
a check in US funds on a US bank, to:
Glenn Hauser, Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA;
and says, ``Please be assured that I appreciate your job, as you are
one of *the* reliable sources of DX news. I look forward to enjoying
more editions of World of Radio in the next years to come!``

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds,
to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5950, Sat July 10 at 2200 I tune 5950 on the W8BUG SDR in
Knoxville-Oak Ridge which normally provides good reception of WRMI for
`Encore` classical music hour --- but nothin but noise so this WRMI
must be off. But at 2242 I check own rx and do get a JBA carrier. Back
to W8BUG: still nothing, and I do mean nothing showing on waterfall on
this or other bands. Must be disconnected. Title on webpage invites
contacts but I find no link to do it! Switch to another Kiwi in south
Georgia, and there is 5950 with Encore. Will have to catch the next
play at 0100 on 5850. Which I do, July 11, sufficient S9+20/30 via
Birmingham AL SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5950, Sat July 10 at 2300, Georgia SDR is still running
after `Encore` when next on WRMI is `Your UFO Show`, evidently
something new. Described on RMI programming page that is simulcast on
WBCQ 7490; and so it is during the hour formerly known as `Radio
TimTron Worldwide`. I guess it`s gone since TT is ailing, too bad.
Out-of-date WBCQ sked still shows RTTW not YUFOS. Listened to a bit of
it: informal chat hoping people will call in (live?) with UFO tales,
but meanwhile he reads a recipe. Retune at 2325 to dead air but player
still running -- o, it was a pause for prayer: better watch out: some
stations sense silence and kick in fill music or something after a few
sex: but certainly not the ones with long dead air spans like most
recently KRVN (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9265V, July 10 at 0549, WINB is OFF --- now supposed to be
TOMBS at 0400-0700 daily per Overkiller website (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. (5085), UT Sunday July 11 at 0030, WTWW-2 ID with Star
Spangled Banner clip as produxion music, and `Theater Organ Under the
Arch` which I listen to on $ tereo webcast rather than distorted 5085.
As usual runs over a minute or two, as I am already retuning to 5850
remote for `Encore` from 0100 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. MUF of 138 MHz on the DXMAP somewhere around Memphis, so
there ought to be some FM DX as I head to the car, July 10 after 1530.
Bandscanning 87.5-97.5 MHz turns up nothing unusual until 1557 on 96.5
I hear some religion unlikely from either Okie I think, but 1600 UT a
KECO Elk City ID which may or may not be from same. Fox `News` from
something until 1602, some other news; 1612 ad for a Kia dealer on
I-71 amid CCI. That`s something to go on: I-71 runs from Louisville KY
thru Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland OH. The only 96.5 station along
that route is in Lebanon OH, WFTK --- but I can`t correlate with a Kia
dealer there. O well (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Logs
** CUBA. 6100, July 9 at 0612, RHC in wrong language Spanish instead
of English; 5040 and 6000 are off; only 6165 with English at S9+10/20
concluding NAm weather report by Chief Meteorologist; and JBA carrier
on 6060, is that RHC? Only other listee is SRDA 24h from Brasil in
Aoki, but never reported, not even in WRTH 2021 nor in EiBi..
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. No luck on FM DX today July 9 but a few relogged 10m ham
beacons:

28224.5-CW, July 9 at 2012, K5GJR/B EL17:
``28.2245 K5GJR C CORPUS CHRISTI, TX # 5W, VERTICAL``
There was phone QRM from English QSO in USB-28226.

28289.6-CW, July 9 at 2016, AL AL AL DE WJ5O/B:
``28.2893 WJ5O C TROY ALABAMA # 2W VERTICAL New Frequency 25 Jan 14``

28281.0-CW, July 9 at 2019, DE W8EH ...
``28.281 W8EH C MIDDLETOWN OHIO # 8W, GP VERTICAL``

Also lots of CB pileups via sporadic E, and freebanders such as unID:
27455-USB, July 9 at 2023, CCI from at least two QSOs in Spanish and
partly in English; apparently they do not bother each other. Also WWV
JBA on 25000. Nothing else of interest in the 26s or 25s (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. 7780, re WRMI with Hal Turner instead of WOR, UT
Fri July 9 at 0130, Jeff White explains, ``One-time only. We had an
Internet outage today, but it’s fixed now.``

WORLD OF RADIO 2094 monitoring: confirmed UT Sat July 10 at 0130 on
WRMI 9395, S9+10/20 direct, sufficient but not really a `solid`
signal. Next:

** U S A. 7570, July 9 at 0610, this WRMI is OFF, while others remain
on with The Overkiller: 7730, 5950, 5850, 5800, 4980; and at 0616, JBA
carrier on 9955, even less on 9455 & 9395, JJBBA carriers (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (7489v), July 10 at 0000-0101, WBCQ webcast of `AAAWWW`;
after WTO, first fiddling with microphones, says trimulcasting on
7490, 6160 and 3265; has hardly started when allows a caller to
interrupt, Bill in Wyoming who can copy only one word out of three on
7490 and wants to know about the SuperStition being off. Will get to
that later. Then another call from Tim, the same guy who two weeks ago
was finally cut off when he was quoting Tom Metzger of Aryan
Resistance, objecting to Larry Will`s retort then and rambles on and
on. 0017 Allan starts trying to cut him off.

Then Allan is really pissed about the SS situation; Angela hardly says
a word during the hour except to murmur assent. The big PA tube came
apart and there is no spare. No one has seen anything like this
before. Blames manufacturing defect by Thalès in France. Costs $ 200K.
Does not say anything about it being insured or under warranty as I
have wondered. Looking for substitute/replacement and a new tube is on
order but they are custom-made.

Is fed up too with Windows 10 computer control of transmitter, with no
manual override. Paid top dollar for this stuff and it keeps breaking
down. Manufacturers are passing the buck rather than rushing out to
fix things. *THEY* are working on shutting down WBCQ; won`t say who,
but surely not sister Barbara? Now says the tube costs $ 210K, broke
like cheap glass or ceramic from China. May get Chinese to come and
work on it (?really?). Transmitter has never run right at full power;
Angela implies it`s been at half-power. Can`t get antenna crews in
either despite pay available of $ 1500/day. ``I`ve had it -- burned
out.``

0035 another caller suggests that TimTron is not the engineer to
depend on. Allan really blows his top about this, lauds TT as the best
transmitter engineer; but because of health problems he has not been
to Monticello in a sesquiyear; hopes he can visit soon. He got sick
after his last visit, pre-COVID. Cuts off caller and swears at him,
warns everybody not to criticise WBCQ staff or family on the air. (?
Free Speech has its limits). 0039 says the broken tube weighs 200-250
lbs so needs equipment merely to lift it.

At 0049 I check the Rockport, Maine remote, and find VG signals on all
three frequencies: 3265 + 157 Hz at S9+15/20; 6160 -106 Hz at
S9+10/15; 7490 -102 Hz at S9/+10. I continue listening to those
instead of web. 0053 finally datestamp as 9 July YOOL 2021. 0057
admires Jimmy & Rosalyn Carter on their 75th wedding anniversary and
hopes his marriage last as long (? at age 67 +70? = 137, I doubt it).
Time for just a few e-mails, but runs over to 0101.5, cut to Hal
Turner in progress. Here`s John Carver`s version:

``Tonight's show started on time this evening on both 6160 and 7490
with 7490 again having the better signal. Allan and Angela in the
studio. Opening talk about a new mic for Angela. Phone call at 0005
from a gentleman asking about the absence of 9330 lately. Allan said
he was going to talk about that later in the show. Caller said he was
only getting about every third word of the broadcast. Allan then
states they are also broadcasting on 3265 but I don't check as I would
have to readjust antenna tuner and pre-selector.

Another phone call at 0009. Caller was complaining about Larry Will
complaining about him during the program two weeks ago. Then some more
talk of socialists and communists. Finally started to talk about the
problems with 9330 and the tube that went out on the big transmitter.
Allan stated that they had a new tube on order but later said that
they might not use the same type of tube again and were looking into
other replacements. Also said he was considering having the Chinese
build him a new tube.

He mentioned that the big antenna needed some work done on it and so
far the company isn't sending over a crew to work on it.

Allan digresses a bit and briefly talks again about how "they" are
trying to drive WBCQ off the air.

Back to 9330, Allan states that they were looking into some other
transmitters to take up some of the slack on 9330 but no other
details. Phone call at 0035 asks if TimTron had been working on the
9330 transmitter and said that TimTron wasn't the one to work on it.
Allan got very upset, kicked the man off the phone and then had a mini
rant defending TimTron. Said that no one could call and attack any of
the staff at WBCQ or Angela and expect him to stay quiet about it. He
spent some time saying that TimTron was the best transmitter engineer
that he knew of. He also defended his decision to continue to
broadcast Brother Stair. Then a brief about Jimmy Carter's wedding
anniversary and how he hoped that he and Angela could last that long.
Reading of emails at 0057 and quick closing prayer at 0059 and program
was off at 0101. John Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 880, July 9 at 0629-0642+ UT, dead air from dominant signal
which loops N/S, obviously KRVN Lexington NE, instead of Bohannon? who
is on 720 WGN now. Nulling it, am getting praise music in English from
E/W, most likely KHAC Tse Bonito NM, which could even be on 10 kW day
power instead of 430 watts night. And there is Spanish music N/S/ish,
most likely 10/1 kW KJOZ Conroe TX (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Re ``Only I reported WNJC Fourth of July special``, Someone
signing only as Bill replies July 8: ``Glen, I tried for the 4th
special but couldn't get anything here in Syracuse (FN13). We heard
WNJC many times during the winter tests, to the point where I can sing
the jingle ;) I reported that negative result on the WNJC Facebook
group. The FT8 tests were better for me this time around, though Duke
was having some issues with the stringent timing requirements given
his remote setup, and I was able to hear bits and pieces of the CW IDs
during those tests. Bill.``

And Kraig Krist, replies July 8: ``Heard in Manassas, VA beginning at
0044 UTC with bubble up tones. Fast speed morse code, sweep tones and
long tones. Not finished listening to my SDR capture as 10 hours takes
a while to listen. 73, Kraig`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1540.200, July 9 at 0622 UT, the most obvious off-frequency
het is still there, not bothered to keep logging, long ago traced to
10 kW ``daytimer``, WKVQ, Eatonton GA.

Was checking for KXEL which Artie Bigley laments has started carrying
Brother Scare at 0600-0800 instead of Red Eye Radio; they told him a
year contract but payable monthly; apparently some estate money was
released July 1 resulting in all the expanded SW & MW airtime. But on
1540.0 itself not hearing RER or TOMBS, rather John Denver, ``Wichita
Lineman`` and something else with sports talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Re my FM DX log on 92.9 whether it was SC via Es or NE via
scatter, Rick Dau replies: ``Glenn, being in close proximity to
Lincoln/Beatrice, I can help nail this down for you. KTGL IDs as "92.9
THE Eagle", always including the article in DJ chatter, liners,
sweepers, and legals. Their signal makes it into the Omaha/Council
Bluffs metro with ease. So what you heard was almost certainly WEGX.
73, Rick Dau, South Omaha, Nebraska EN21af`` -- tnx, Rick (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VENEZUELA. 6205, July 10 at 0114, no signal from ROCV into Bonaire
SDR. Jorge Freitas earlier had an unID on 6205 apparent Euro-pirate.
Come to think of it, have not seen any reports of ROCV since May 31.
Is it gone for good? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Logs
** CUBA. 5040, July 8 at 0536, open carrier of S8-S9: could it be
Vanuatu? Too weak for Cuba and too strong for Van, but since there is
a JBA carrier on 7260 now, RV presumed back on that sked, and Havana
must be ailing, where something is always wrong (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 13638 & 13762 approx., July 8 at 1443, RHC weak spurblobs
with music in FM and F# tone above Cmiddle as usual, out of 13700-AM
which is S9/+10. But the second orders JBA circa 13826 and trace 13576
bear a lower tone of C#, never noted before. Hz equivalents are
approx. 370 & 270. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 15665, July 8 at 0528, JBA talk, listed as CRI
Russian via Urumqi at 04-06 --- a ``midnight sun`` log from the land
of ChiCom genocide against Uighurs and other Moslems (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Level-3 tropo blob predicted over N Central OK as far as
OKC brings in some LPTVs not normally visible. My antenna is now only
the roof-mounted ch 7+ VHF/UHF permanently aimed SSE toward OKC. Back
element reflector is a bit loose but taped up. This is UT Thursday
July 8 from 0315.

RF 28, Ion 44-1 which would be Tulsa
RF 35? KUOK PSIP seen briefly but should be 36? Saved by STB? The real
KUOK in Woodward is RF 36 & virtual 36; while the OKC version, KUOK-CD
is now also on RF 36 & virtual 36. What we normally see on virtual
36-1 is really from the full-power KTUZ-29 Shawnee transmitter also
with 30-1 as competing Telemundo, and 48-1 as Estrella TV.

BAD signals on 26, 22, 21, 20, 15, 11

At 0328:
RF 35, 35-1 with credits from NFB Canada film about native matters;
FNX logo but no other explicit ID nor any on the PSIP, and into
another First Nations program. This is solid on the STB into my old
CRT TV, but on the Sanyo DTV screen, error message ``Scrambled
Program``. No, it isn`t! Both my TVs are fed by splitting feed from
same antenna. It holds up for about 15 minutes as I am tuning around.

This is obviously K35MV-D licensed to Concho OK, which is just west of
OKC, and have seen before. Non-ID is ``47.1 FNX``. Rabbitears.com say
it is ``CATV 47``, presumably where it be found on Cox cable thruout?
OKC. FNX has *368* affiliates thruout USA, mostly LP or translators
but a real PBS station KNME Albuquerque included. More info from
website linked at rabbitears:

to serve you! ABOUT US:

Cheyenne and Arapaho Television- C&A TV is making history as the first
Native American owned and operated broadcast TV station in the State
of Oklahoma. It is one of only a handful of Native American TV

The establishment of K47MU-D Cheyenne and Arapaho Television was made
possible by a Facilities Grant from NTIA.

C&A TV is a low power Public Broadcast TV station broadcasting from
the C&A Tribal Headquarters in Concho, OK since July 2012.

In 2018 the FCC sold C&A TV's frequency to T-Mobile and required us to
change our broadcast frequency and call letters.
We are now channel 35.1 and have the call letters K35MV-D.

K35MV-D Cheyenne and Arapaho Television – C&A TV provides 100% Native
American television programming to our viewing audience 24/7 as well
as serve our tribal members by providing local community and tribal
government information, language education, and documenting our
cultural events.

C&A TV is a proud affiliate of the FNX Channel First Nations
Experience. www.fnx.org

Together with FNX, Cheyenne and Arapaho Television is providing
Oklahoma with a rich cultural viewing experience to our Native as well
as our Non-Native audience. It is our hope that we not only present
positive and inspiring images of Native Americans but also that
through cultural exposure and education, we foster a better
appreciation and understanding between Oklahoma's Non-Native and
Native communities.

OUR MISSION:

To preserve the history, language and culture of the Cheyenne and
Arapaho people and to present programming that informs, educates,
uplifts, inspires, and promotes their mental and physical well
being.

OUR VISION:

CATV47 intends to provide the best Native American programming
available in North America that will respect, honor and uplift the
Native American peoples, traditions and cultures in general and
whenever and however possible, the Cheyenne and Arapaho people
specifically.

* LANGUAGE: We will strive to preserve and promote use of the Cheyenne
and Arapaho languages by producing original language education
programming aimed at both children and
adults.

* ELDERS: We will honor and respect our tribal elders by capturing and
preserving their stories and their wisdom.

* CHILDREN AND YOUTH: We will produce Children’s programming that
promotes a positive and healthy self-image by instilling a sense of
pride in their culture and heritage. We will also produce youth
programming that will promote healthy lifestyle choices ( to remain
drug free and avoid alcohol abuse) as well as staying in school and
promoting secondary education.

* SOCIAL ISSUES INFORMATION: Provide information on resources and
tribal programs for social issues that plague the tribe like suicide,
alcohol abuse, depression, domestic and sexual abuse, drop-outs, teen
pregnancy and unemployment.

* CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING: It is our hope that through exposure to
our television programming we may foster a better understanding and
appreciation of Native American culture among the Non-Native
cultures.

We hope that C&A TV will not only continue to be a symbol of pride and
accomplishment for the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes but also a source
of quality Native American information and entertainment.
