Glenn Hauser logs July 15-16, 2021 |
|
Friday, July 16 2021
** CANADA [and non]. Still researching IDs etc., of the huge sporadic E FM DX opening from Saskatchewan, Alberta, Montana, July 14 1702-1953 UT. Hope to be done in time for next report (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6100 & 6165, July 15 at 0617, RHC English both S9/+10 and undermodulated; again 6060 algo JBA; 6000 off; 5040 in Spanish. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11850, July 16 at 0128, RHC is a steady S9+20 but JBM and suptorted. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 7435 & 7335, July 15 at 0612, Radio Martí again on extended schedule and atop jamming, also weaker 6030 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 7133-LSB, July 15 at 0612 unreadable QSO in Spanish, and not much else on this part of 40m band, except for amorphous weak jamming sounds as Ryan Ellegood had forwarded a K0LWC Youtube report that Cuba had started jamming in the ham band. Listening to it myself, it`s rather like what seems to be spurious jamming in the broadcast bands, so can`t be sure it`s intentional, but spurs from R Martí frequencies above 7.3 MHz seem unlikely. I find sort of peaks circa 7105, 7120, 7130, 7140, 7157 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. OG&E crew from OKC finally came July 15 between 14 and 18 UT trying to locate source of the S9 line noise level I have been suffering for a month or so, from LW thru MW and most of the SW range. But they could not find it; offered to come back soon if it get worse (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A. No FM DX today, but a bit of sporadic E beaconing on 10m, July 15 at 1737: 28286+ partial copy before fadeout, surely: ``28.2865 WBØBIN C SABIN, MINNESOTA # 7W, GP VERTICAL New 22 April 18`` as heard several times before; and definitely: 28245.2, July 16 at 1740, VVV DE K0WKT/B IA IA IA 5W with call repeated several times; per WJ5O list: ``28.2453 KØWKT ? MAY CITY, IOWA # 5W, VERTICAL New 25 July 2018`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2095 contents: Bermuda, Canada, Cuba and non, (France), Germany, Kashmir non, (Madagascar), (Netherlands), Oklahoma, (São Tomé), Spain, Sudan South non, Thailand, (UAE), USA, Vanuatu, (Vatican), Venezuela, Vietnam; SWLing is Back; propagation outlook WOR 2095 is available as of 2334 UT Thursday July 15, 2021 (mp3 stream) http://www.w4uvh.net/wor2095.m3u (mp3 download) http://www.w4uvh.net/wor2095.mp3 Or via http://www.worldofradio.com/audiomid.html Also linx to podcast services. The shortwave+ broadcasts should be: 0130 UT Friday WRMI 5850 to NW, 7780 to NE 2030 UT Friday IRRS 918-Italy 0130 UT Saturday WRMI 9395 to NNW 1300 UT Saturday WRMI 15770 to NE 1801 UT Saturday IRRS 7290-Bulgaria to WNW, 918-Italy 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 2000 UT Saturday WRMI 15770 [new] 0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0400] 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy 2200vUT Sunday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW 0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE, 5800 to SSE 1330 UT Tuesday WRMI 15770 to NE 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Peter Jones in East Sussex for a contribution via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA. First airings confirmed UT Fri July 16 at 0130 on WRMIs: 5800 S9+20/30 and 7780 S8/S9, but both with considerable storm noise from Kansas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330+, July 16 at 0421, WBCQ back on here, tnx to tip from Dave Zantow, WI, but it`s surely not the broken #6 500 kW transmitter, rather one of their ``classic`` units as Walt Salmaniw, BC also agrees; I try Maine SDR first where it`s too close anyway and JBA carrier; no better at Rochester NY; but near Washington DC it`s VP S4-S5 presumably with WLCR flatearthiness, and in SAM mode varying plus 12-15 Hz (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 3215, July 15 at 0610, TOMBS is back on WWCR-1, missing yesterday (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0519 UT July 16 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Thursday, July 15 2021
Correct date on the Mexican log July 14, not July 4, fixed:
** MEXICO. 92.3, July 14 at 1847 UT, during large sporadic E FM DX opening mostly from Saskatchewan and Alberta, some Spanish shows up here: weak but growing against CCI from Phoenix, phone? 169-5810, and ad in *pesos* so unAmerican; 1849 ``nueva radio La Bestia 92.3``; 1859 still Mexmx with stereo pilot, 1900 Spanish spoken; 1903 ``ya nos conoce`` [indeed I do], non ID, live DJ, then ``92.3 FM, La Bestia``. Besides Yuma & Vegas on 93.1, most DX continues from Canada, and no more Mexicans as this is barely one per WTFDA DB: XHMMF-FM 92.3 MEXICALI BC MEX Spanish SPANISH HITS BALADAS LA BESTIA GRUPERA 21.9 kW ERP 48.08 m HAAT 32-38-18 115-38-17 --- 1637 km = 1017 statute miles. I do miss the ch 3 and 5 analog TV stations from Mexicali which used to frequent Enid at prime Es skip distance (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Wednesday, July 14 2021
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, July 14 from tune-in 1516, another Wednesday, so LRA36 is to be heard via Pardinho, Brasil KiwiSDR, S4-S6 during music. Of course since it`s SSB, the S-range varies more depending on modulation level than on propagation. 1518 already ``cierre del programa`` mentioning ``lejano sur, Esperanza``, until next miércoles but this to be repeated el sábado. Antártida themesong until 1523 but does NOT go off, immediately starts another song, 1531 `sign-on`, 1534 themesong again. Local weather max is minus 11 C; contact info including whatsapp; songs. 1547 canned ID, 1558 weather again of -11C high. 1624 still going with songs. 1631 ID, also at 1637, 1639. 1649 ``sign-off`` again with themesong; 1651 ``seguimos con más...`` when I tune out, as FM DX from Canada is calling me to the caradio (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CANADA [and non]. Large sporadic-E FM DX opening July 14 from 1702 until 1953 UT mostly from Saskatchewan and Alberta. It shall take a day or two for me to have time to research and report it thoroly, but this may be one of the most interesting: 95.3, July 14 at 1719 UT into caradio, horoscope, CCI with KOKC 1520 translator [not KOMA as I wrote before!], YL DJ, birthdays of celebrities, eh? [sic], hum on her mike; 1720 ``Creek FM``, eldercare PSA with COVID advice, still hum. WTFDA has no such slogan for any Canadian, which this surely is, eh? also from PTA = probable target area, and not Michigan. Web search leads to it: https://www.creekfm.com/ ``95 Three CreekFM | Proudly Broadcasting from Okanese First Nation 95.3 CreekFM is your local community radio station located on the Okanese First Nation reserve, providing a wide range of programming to attract and entertain many different audiences from across South Eastern Saskatchewan. In Person Located at the Business Complex on Okanese First Nation NE 32, Township 22, Range 10, West of 2nd Main: 306-334-3331 Fax: 306-334-2545 newsdesk@creekfm.com Mail 95.3 Creek Fm P.O. Box 940 Balcarres, SK, S0G 0C0`` I do not find that Res in my Rand McNally; must be very small? But Balcarres is NE of Regina on the way to Melville and Yorkton. So this is it as per WTFDA: CHXL-FM 95.3 OKANESE INDIAN RESERVATION SK CAN COMMUNITY RADIO 50.0 kW Horizontal-only 71.2 m HAAT H-only 50-56-34 103-23-53 --- yet I am getting it on my vertical-only car antenna! It is said that sporadic E fortunately tumbles the original polarization of signals. From Balcarres: 1665 km = 1034 statute miles. I wonder if these Creeks be any relation to the Muscogee/Creek of Oklahoma? BTW, in OK you see a lot of Tribal license plates --- once considered prestigious or at least funding tribes rather than the state in general, but since McGirt shakeup in federal/tribal, vs state jurisdixion of crimes against Indians, many of whom you would not recognize as such without their plates, news reports say criminals are now singling them out as targets less likely to lead to prompt prosecution (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6060, July 14 at 0629, RHC English is under humbuzz here; clear but undermodulated on 6100; off of 6165, 6000 and 5040. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15370, July 14 at 1433, RHC is S9+10 but undermodulated `Sonido Cubano` music, wrong frequency instead of missing 15140, but also on 15230. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 13635 & 13765 approx., July 14 at 1436, JBA spurblobs out of 13700-AM; something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 92.3, July 4 at 1847 UT, during large sporadic E FM DX opening mostly from Saskatchewan and Alberta, some Spanish shows up here: weak but growing against CCI from Phoenix, phone? I do miss the ch 3 and 5 analog TV stations from Mexicali which used to frequent Enid at prime Es skip distance (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2094 monitoring: as usual zzz thru the Wed 1030 July 14 on WRMI 5850; did anyone hear it? Confirmed Wed July 14 at 2100 on WRMI 7780, S7-S9 into Maine SDR; and about 21 seconds behind on WBCQ 7490 minus ~80v Hz at S9+10; but by 2116 WBCQ has faded way down to S5, skip already lengthening? While the other BCQs remain VG on 3265+ and 6160-; and 9330 remains zero. But 7490 is back up to S7/S9+5 at 2241 check during AAAWWW playback. Next and last WOR 2094: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Moises Corilloclla, Rego Park NY, for a check in US funds on a US bank, to: Glenn Hauser, Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA; and says, ``Please be assured that I appreciate your job, as you are one of *the* reliable sources of DX news. I look forward to enjoying more editions of World of Radio in the next years to come!`` One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com New WOR 2095 should be ready for download early UT Fri July 15 and 0130 first SW airings on WRMIs 5850 & to be resumed on 7780 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 3215, July 14 at 0633, WWCR-1 is OFF! instead of BSing, while the other three, 4840, 5890 and 5935 are nominally on and strong. Also no carrier on 15825 at 1434 check while 13845, 9980 and 7490 are VG. Next check at 2242: 6115 is also AWOL. Problems with #1 transmitter: nominal sked is: 01-11 3215, 11-22 15825, 22-01 6115 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 4975, July 14 at 0631, JBA carrier, for the third time, vs storm noise and 4980 WRMI splash. I have my doubts it`s the Europirate Radio Deltracks as reported over there, 350 watts from Netherlands, but I need to check for it earlier (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 7348-CW, July 14 at 0626 weak string of numbers, those 5-character codes, finally K; and then a short msg including QRU. Wonder if spy-like? UDXF iog has lots of 7348 logs as FEMA in ALE/USB but not plain old CW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2300 UT July 14 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
