Glenn Hauser logs July 25-26-27, 2021  View Printable Version
Tuesday, July 27 2021

Logs
** CANADA. 346-MCW kHz, July 26 at 0609 UT, dash and YXL, 500-watt ND
beacon at Sioux Lookout, Ontario is JBA. Hadn`t been able to hear this
or any Canadian for weeks vs summer storm and local line noise level,
so things are looking up. In winter it`s a regular not even logged
every time heard (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CONGO. 6115, July 26 at 0556, JBA carrier, presumed R. Congo on
earlier tonight. Yes, in fact Manuel Méndez, Spain later reports it
from *0522 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6100, July 26 at 0556, S9+10/20 of dead air in English from
RHC; 6165 and 5040 are off; 6060 DA with humbuzz; only 6000 remains,
wrapping up English at 0557 and no doubt about to go off. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11880, July 26 at 2318 and later, NO signal from RHC English
hour. A perfect excuse, besides ``something`s always wrong at RHC``
for my annual sarcastic Tribute to The Revolution: ``Patria o Suerte,
¡Pensaremos!``. I am still awaiting visual proof of this slogan
scrawled on a surface anywhere on Cuba. Ahora más que nunca (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, July 27 at 0238, R. Rebelde with S9+20 of dead air.
Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba. 4765 and 5040 are nominal
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Monday July 26, REE English with Justin Coe at 2211
resumes the `DX program` from a biweek ago, out-takes, as the original
recording ran way over, when he responded to a second listener, Alan
Roe in England. No, there was a not a farewell show for Alison Hughes,
as things have been rather hectic. She started in 1990, took a break
and came back 12/13 years ago. He will invite her back as a guest.
Luís Martín, head of the external service, also took early retirement
in February; and there is also a new head of the entire RTVE. Was
going to play some music for this Alan, Blas Picón of blues harmonica
who just appeared 11 July in Madrid. Boogie-woogie, plays at 2222 ``If
You`re Not Around``; 2226 also acknowledges reply from Rodney Johnson
thanking Coe for previously acknowledging his mail. Another showname
suggestion: ``REEDX``. [But it`s NOT a DX program; how about
``Spainal-bag``? Nah?] Starts playing another music for him but only
time for a semiminute of something about Chicago until timesignal, off
and away. Also, Justin doesn`t know who in the large organization is
sending out QSLs. Anyhow, so far our WOR iogroupies are batting 100%
as only subjects of the mailbag. Or belay that, silly ballgame
reference. I`m listening via Virginia remote, always better than
direct to deep North America (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, July 26 after Spain dispenses with English at 2230 I
tune the Virginia remote to VOT, sufficient but not as good. Mostly
music, but at 2237 the COVID PSA plays, still that ancient outdated
recording, ``vaccine yet to be found``; but if anyone believe that, it
may impel more cautious behaviour. Sign-off announcement at 2249 has
crosstalk from something, sounds like Brother Hystairical
expostulating, maybe remote receiver overload. IS plays; 2256 pause
and restart IS, one announcement in German before cutoff so not
another hour or two tonight (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 326-MCW kHz, July 26 at 0612, 400-watt ND beacon MA at
Midland TX is JBA. Had not been able to hear any beyond KS/OK for
weeks in summer storm and local line noise level (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2096 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
July 25 at 2000 on IRRS via AM Italia, into Padova SDR only S5.5 but
better SNR than the stronger closer signal into Noale. Still on about
over at 2028 so appears this time to have aired intact successfully.

NOT confirmed Sun July 25 at 2200 on WBCQ 6160-; instead, quick ID and
right back to TOMBS. But WOR *is* playing on the Area 51 webcast. I
notify Larry Will immediately, and he replies:

``Sorry Glenn, they are having a computer problem at the station so it
will be B.S. until 7PM tonight [23 UT]. Lw`` --- and at 0302 UT
Monday: ``I managed to get you an airing on 6160 at 0300 UTC Monday
7/26. Signal good here with a slightly unfortunate QRM from Cuba. Lw``
And at 0337: ``I managed to sneak in "Brother Stair's Way To Heaven"
by Blind Paul (Paul Shalbetter, host of the classic show "Pan Global
Wireless) after WOR 2096 before I switched the transmitter back to the
B.S. Signal very good here in Maryland with occasional and persistent
Cuba interference. Cheers, Lw``

Maybe we can stay at our old time of 0300 for better nighttime
propagation altho 6165 QubaRM is a problem then -- and Cuba was on
6165 long before WBCQ picked 6160. Checked on an east-coast remote,
WBCQ is stronger than RHC, vice versa out here. More below.

Also confirmed UT Monday July 26 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG direct.

Also confirmed UT Mon July 26 at 0130 on WRN webcast to N America.

Also confirmed UT Mon July 26 at 0230 on WRMIs: 7780 VG S9+10 to
Maryland remote, VG S9+5/15 to UTwente; 5800, S9+10 to Bonaire SDR.

Also confirmed UT Mon July 26 at 0309 the special time of 0300 on Area
51 via WBCQ 6160-; by 0327 VP here with 6165 Cuba ACI even on LSB
tuning. Next, not until Wednesday:

1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary
support: thanks this week to Michael Newland, Morgantown KY, for a
contribution via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to
woradio at yahoo.com --- and comments: ``Thank you Glenn for your
contributions to this great hobby. I’ve listened to you since the old
SWL Digest on RCI``

One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 3265+, 4790-, 6160-, 7490-, July 27 at 0239, all these WBCQs
are missing but 9329.784 is still on poorly with something in English.
Recheck at 0256, 4790, 6160 and 7490 are back on with TOMBS. Yes,
Blitzortung checked at 0300 shows an itty-bitty storm right around
Monticello. 3265 is apparently always off now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Re my FM DX report of a 100.3 mentioning Downtown Milwaukee,
is it WNCY Neenah-Menasha, or translator in Milwaukee?
``W262CJ relay of:WZTI-1290 100.3 MILWAUKEE WI USA OLDIES 100.3 AND
107.3 FONZ FM 0.099 0.099 0.0 0.0 43-05-46 87-54-15 98A2 Oldies //
W297BY 107.3 --- [1127 km = 700 mi]`` --- Doug Smith, TN, replies on
WTFDA gg:

``WNCY is unlikely. It's solidly in the Appleton market (and might
possibly run Green Bay spots), not likely to be running Milwaukee ads.
Unless the Milwaukee event in question was Summerfest, which is of
regional interest. But it doesn't happen until September. I was in
Milwaukee last weekend & W262CJ has a pretty impressive signal``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Titans of TV: Farnsworth vs Sarnoff --- History Channel
tends to be too tabloid, but I watched this docu-drama on first airing
UT Monday July 26 at 0100-0200. Several repeats are scheduled.

``The Machines That Built America: “Titans of Television” History, 9
pm EDT [0100-0203 UT] --- The latest take on the That Built America
franchise chronicles the 1930s feud between Philo Farnsworth, the
inventor of the television, and David Sarnoff, a ruthless RCA exec who
sought to buy the pioneer’s fledgling company and control the new
medium.`` says Channel Guide. Yes, it paints Sarnoff as a real SOB and
Farnsworth as a sad and not properly recognized victim. I guess we
would never see this version of history on NBC.

``The Machines That Built America THCHD - Sun, 7/25, 8:00 PM CDT 1 hr
3 min "Titans of Television" New, 7/25/2021, History, Industry
The rivalry between a merciless mogul and an unknown inventor triggers
a social change in which people turn to television for entertainment
instead of books, magazines or the theater as the two figures attempt
to outdo each other.`` CDT Repeats per Titan TV:
Sun, Aug 01 7:00 PM [UT Mon Aug 2 0000]
Mon, Aug 02 1:08 AM [UT Mon Aug 2 0608]
Wed, Aug 04 11:00 AM [UT Wed Aug 4 1600]
Sun, Aug 08 6:00 PM [UT Sun Aug 8 2300]
These are from the original eastern feed; there may also be 3?-hour
delayed western feeds. Maybe also on web? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 4743, July 27 at 0236, JBA carrier vs CODAR (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6982, July 27 at 0235, S9 open carrier with fading;
pirate testing? Nothing about it on HFU. Also JBA carrier 6974.9-AM
presumably Nowhere Radio (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 15705, July 26 at 1417, JBA signal. Neither Aoki nor
EiBi has anything anywhen on 15705; but HFCC as of July 17 for entire
A21 season shows: ``15705 1400 1500 43S,44S TRM 125 45 -30 217 1234567
280321 301021 D 13700 Cmn CLN AWR AWR 197 x219`` i.e. AWR in Chinese
via Trincomalee, SRI LANKA; maybe recently activated?

Or, but here`s another report of this from Dan Sheedy, CA, via Bob
Wilkner, NASWA: ``15705 unID 1417-30, 1435-1459* 19 July. Mostly quiet
Chinese chat with soft pop & piano background during some
announcements (website info, closing remarks), audio off 1430-35 with
carrier left on. Also heard roughly same times 18 July, but not heard
on 20 July during checks at 1415, 1433. This sounds "SOH-ish" with the
web info spelled out "xx O H..", not listed in Aoki/EiBi`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 0336 UT July 27

Glenn Hauser logs July 24-25, 2021  View Printable Version
Sunday, July 25 2021

Logs
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, this Saturday July 24 at 1446 and later
chex, NO signal from LRA36 into Campo or Pardinho SDRs in Brasil. Had
been repeating the Wednesday broadcast on Sat circa 14-16 UT (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 4975, July 25 at 0109, still getting JBA carrier here. On
July 22, Lúcio Otávio Bobrowiec in Brasil reported:

``Hi all, Listening "A Voz do Brasil" programme on 4975 kHz at 2228.
Second day it happens. 73 Lucio Brasil`` --- to which I replied:

``WRTH of 2005 had three ZYs on 4975; one of these?
R. Timbira do Maranhão, Sao Luís, 5 kW ZYF813 at 08-03
R. Mundial, São Paulo, 1 kW ZYG865, 24h
R. Iguatemi, Osasco SP, 1 kW ZYG685 but *inactive --- Glenn``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA [and non]. The third distinct sporadic E FM DX opening this
Saturday, axually now UT Sunday July 25, after earlier ones from
MEXICO and Wisconsin+, USA, q.v. also for setup; times always UT.

96.5 at 0021 UT Sunday July 25, ``On Country 106 and 96-5 CKFM``,
event promo and fadeout. This is it:
CKLJ-FM 96.5 OLDS AB CAN COUNTRY 96.5 CK-FM 35.0 35.0 124.0 0.0
51-45-30 114-05-39 --- 2137 km = 1328 mi

But what about the ``106`` which was not heard but referred to as a
co-station? WTFDA DB shows no relation, but further research finds
this one jointly owned by CAB-K Broadcasting:
CKVG-FM 106.5 VEGREVILLE AB CAN COUNTRY COUNTRY 106.5 13.0 13.0 107.8
107.8 53-28-26 111-50-39

Vegreville is east of Edmonton; Olds is between Calgary and Red Deer.
They are 234 km = 145 miles apart.

94.1 at 0022, rock music; 0038 rock and CCI; 0040 ad or promo about
homefield.ca for targeted advertising; ``The Eagle 94-1``. Only Eagle
hit in USA, Canada or anywhere in WTFDA DB is:
CIMG-FM 94.1 SWIFT CURRENT SK CAN CLASSIC HITS EAGLE 94 100.0 43.0
140.4 140.4 50-16-00 107-54-08 C7CE --- 1737 km = 1079 mi

93.7 at 0023, C&W CCI to KSPI Stillwater with OK weather

101.7 at 0029, jazz steady with only a bit of fading. Hard to believe
my semi-local 50 kW KREJ Medicine Lodge KS would be doing that as a
gospel huxter, or as WTFDA politely puts it, ``religious teaching``.
0032 segué to more jazz, altho sounds a bit like an hymn. After some
CCI about Seattle, 0048 only jazz. Could it be CBCRadio 2? Generic
network sked shows starting at 8 pm local is: Saturday Night Jazz! But
that would put it no further west than the EDT zone, such as:
CBQ-FM 101.7 THUNDER BAY ON CAN VARIETY CBC RADIO 2 TORONTO 25.0 0.0
194.0 0.0 48-33-02 89-13-25
which fits in with the earlier opening from that area. There are no
CBC or anything likely jazzy listed in AB or SK. Uh oh, then checking
KREJ schedule
https://www.krejksns.org/krejschedule.php
we find `Gospel Jazz` Saturdays 7-10 pm CDT! Never mind Canada!

101.7 at 0043, sports talk about Seattle, NHL, CCI to KREJazz. Hockey
card day, whatever that be. Interview on phone. Could be a network
program anywhere, but this 99-watter is closest fit to Seattle:
K269HF relay of:KBBO 1390 101.7 YAKIMA WA USA SPORTS THE FAN 0.099
0.099 0.0 0.0 46-31-59 120-30-14 --- [2188 km = 1360 mi]

104.9 at 0046, CCI C&W and talk, KFC ad, UCORA.com, Powerball and:
Oklahoma Lottery. UCORA.com comes from Area Code 604, which is SW BC
around Vancouver. Thus a look at BC listings is called for:
CKKS-FM-2 CKKS-FM 88.1 104.9 VANCOUVER BC CAN HOT AC KISS RADIO 0.0
31.0 672.0 0.0 49-21-26 122-57-13 --- [2489 km = 1547 mi]
And AB, but nothing certain about these:
CFMG-FM 104.9 EDMONTON AB CAN CONTEMPORARY HIT RADIO 104.9 VIRGIN
RADIO 100.0 100.0 200.5 200.5 53-27-47 113-20-07 [2257 km = 1403 mi]
CFHI-FM 104.9 HINTON AB CAN CLASSIC HITS BOOM 104.9 1.1 0.48 345.4
345.4 53-24-35 117-47-20 --- [2430 km = 1510 mi]

I stop there and move to SW to check for Saturday night pirates; see
NORTH AMERICA (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

** CHINA. CNR1 jammer check July 25 at 1357: Chinese on 13530, weaker
13160, 13020; 12880 JBA carrier; 12500 S9 music and talk until
timesignal to 1400* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CONGO. 6115, Sunday July 25 at 0613, JBA carrier presumed R. Congo.
I was with BFO listening for it to cut on before 0600, but nothing by
when I quit until recheck.

Oh2, here`s something else on 6115 per ``Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain,
Log in Friol: GERMANY, 6115, Radio Mi Amigo, Kall Krekel, on air today
25-07 earlier than 0420 UT, when the signing on usual time of this
station is 0700. Pop songs, ID "Radio MI Amigo", "Mi Amigo". 34433.
Good chance to hear it in America right now. Here, in the North West
of Spain at 0445 improving signal, SINPO 45444. Very nice music``.
However, Harold Frodge in MI and Walt Salmaniw, BC were not hearing a
bit of it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6100, July 24 at 0636, RHC English on humbuzzy transmitter
back here instead of 6060 which is off along with 6000, while 6165 is
on and nominal. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 13700, July 24 at 1259, RHC frequency announcement far out of
date, claiming to be on 9650, etc. At least no spurs today on 13 MHz.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6100, July 25 at 0605, RHC in wrong language, news in Spanish
instead of English; only 6165 in English; 6000 & 5040 off; 6060 JBA
carrier, what else if not Cuba? Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KUWAIT. 15514.706 & 15530: July 24 at 0510, Paul Walker in AK
reported R. Kuwait on 15515 in English instead of Arabic. I check at
0519, RK in Arabic, but that`s just Qur`an, then English version and
soon song in English. Tuned via UTwente, it`s 15514.706 and very
distorted S9. Much clearer English but somewhat distorted still, on
15530 S9+25, which is also splattering between 15500 and 15560. But
15514.706 would be a separate transmitter and not a spur of 15530.
0530 ID as 963 MW, 96.3 FM, 11970 [sic, only!] for S&SE Asia, then
show ``The Noble Women of Islam`` with plenty of PBUH`s. Allah`ll get
`em unless they add that every time Mohamed be mentioned. Are any
other mere mortals eligible for such kind wishes?

This is part of a long series about Islam, with music bits, until 0544
back to pop/rock music. A song in English starts at 0558 and keeps
going across ToH until 0602 anti-fire PSA, be careful with kitchen
appliances; more music until abrupt cut at 0606 to join news in
progress! about Cyprus, 6.7 earthquake near Luzon, etc. Weather:
today`s high 49! And it`s now 41 (= F 120 and 106 degrees). 0611 back
to Western pop/rock music; 0619 ``greatest hits of all time station``,
so plugged into a US syndicator? COVID-19 PSA much like heard on Voice
of Turkey; 0610 ``Can`t Take My Eyes Off of You`` song, more music
until 0628 tune-out from UTwente. As expected, checked direct at 0632,
no trace of either signal into OK (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO [and non]. Spurred by a ~98 MHz sporadic E MUF patch circa
halfway between OK and Yucatán, I starting FM DXing from the car in
garage July 24 at 1727, times always UT: tuning upward, nothing
unusual until 95.3, Some Spanish music CCI to KOKC OKC translator.
Also at 1732 with a .mx website. Also at 1747 Mexmx and hyper DJ; 1758
Spanish music CCI but gone by 1800. Too many possibilities without
something more definite, but if it be Yucatán or Quintana Roo, there
are:
XHMH-FM AM 970 95.3 MÉRIDA YUC MEX Spanish REGIONAL MEXICAN CANDELA FM
25.0 25.0 107.0 107.0 20-57-58 89-37-27 --- [1893 km = 1176 mi]

FM 9.24 9.24 106.0 106.0 18-31-19 88-17-19 --- [2200 km = 1367 mi]
But then I have a definite Q.R. on 97.5 below, so XHROO more likely

97.3 at 1728, Mexican political PSA with rapid disclaimer tag;
mentions ``NCN`` or something similar which does not lead to any ID.
At 1733, timecheck for 12:33 so is on UT -5 = CDT = HCM de verano,
i.e. most of México. Or it could be Quintana Roo, which stays on UT -5
= EST yearound. Adstring and I think an ID in passing but faded. 1734
another TC, for 12:34, ads; 1738 CCI from another Mexican with music.

93.7 at 1736, Spanish with a caller overrides KSPI Stillwater OK; 1750
Mexmx CCI. Too many possibilities.

93.1 at 1737, Mexmx CCI to Kansas; and 1751 Spanish inviting contacts
from either side of the border; so on the border? Maybe:
XHAAA-FM 93.1 REYNOSA TAMPS MEX Spanish REGIONAL MEXICAN LA CALIENTE

94.1 at 1741, Mexmx, ``control remoto``, ``La Caliente 94.1``. CCI
from other Spanish music. This is the only Caliente, and none spelt
Kaliente; BTW no $ tereo heard and no icon, so maybe really mono since
it`s relaying an AM station. [Which raises the question, in USA, is it
kosher for an FM translator of a mono AM station to be $ tereo?]:

97.5 at 1745, Spanish, ``Máxima FM``, 1736 ``Número Uno, Máxima FM``.
Searching the WTFDA FMDB on maxima: no hits without the accent even
tho accents do not appear on the slogan search field; and lower case
is autoconverted to upper. But this is it:
XHCAN-FM 97.5 CANCÚN QROO MEX HD Spanish CONTEMPORARY HIT RADIO
MÁXIMA 3.0 3.0 109.0 109.0 21-09-47 86-51-02 3080 - 'KMIA' MAXIMA ---

At 1800 I suspend as lunch awaits and also need to check web for WOR
on IRRS. Resume at 1828, not much DX left but:

92.1 at 1830, Spanish CCI to KRMP OKC translator.

93.7 at 1832, again Spanish CCI to KSPI Stillwater.

At 1842 I try changing from the car with vertical antenna only to
south-facing porch, 96+ in the shade, with DX-398, with manipulable
whip, but no DX:

95.3 at 1848, English rock CCI to KOKC translator: then Wichita Falls
ad, so I now know what else might show on groundwave? There are no TX
stations very close to WF, but KMGZ Lawton is the only other 95.3
OKie, only 14/14 kW. In TV terms, Lawton-Wichita Falls are a single
bi-state market (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6950-USB, July 25 at 0057, S9 reggae music, bet it`s
Wolverine Radio: yes, 2-word ID right at ToH 0100. Many more logs here
with extensive playlists and SSTV images:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,84312.0.html
including at ``0056 UTC "Waiting In Vain"-Bob Marley & The Wailers``.
Keyword theme this time is songs with ``In`` in the title!

6935-AM, July 25 at 0058, weak S6 music, 0102 unreadable announcement
maybe including ``form``, more music. Many logs here as Black Star
Radio:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,84317.0.html

6974.9-AM, July 25 at 0059, JBA music presumed Nowhere Radio which
seems to be on almost every night; more unID logs until finally
someone got the ID:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,84313.0.html
Also JBA carrier on 6970, maybe Fox ``news`` relay as before.

6954.98-USB, July 25 at 0103, S9 distorted music, just came on, not
before 0100; 0106-0106.5 pause which would have been just right for a
full ID, but silence until blues music resume. Some ``6955`` logs
including very fuzzy SSTV images with ID as Outhouse Radio:

** U S A [and non]. Some more high MUFs above the FM band get me back
into the baking car for sporadic E DX, July 24 at 2205 UT, after
setting up the box fan in the back seat to at least keep the hot air
moving. The Es patches are generally too close but with that much
activity, some is likely to bleed into here. And indeed a lot of
`open` channels have CCI from more than one DX station.

See also CANADA [and non], MEXICO [and non], for separate Es openings
in this report for UT July 25-24. As always, all these logs are only
on my own Nissan caradio receiver and vertical antenna, in real time
with no recordings, no SDR, but lots of research afterwards, prime
reference WTFDA FM Database; distances approx. city-to-city, not
site-to-site, from distancefromto.net Times and dates ALWAYS UT only

¿¿WHAT is Hodag?? ``In American folklore, the hodag is a fearsome
critter resembling a large bull-horned carnivore with a row of thick
curved spines down its back. The hodag was said to be born from the
ashes of cremated oxen, as the incarnation of the accumulation of
abuse the animals had suffered at the hands of their masters. The
history of the hodag is strongly tied to the City of Rhinelander where
it was claimed to have been discovered. The hodag has figured
prominently in early Paul Bunyan stories. --- Wikipedia``

UNIDENTIFIED. 13570, July 25 at 1401, S7-S9 carrier with some flutter,
possibly trace of modulation. EiBi and Aoki show nothing after China
until 1300 or before RFA/MRA from 1600. But recall that 13570 was a
frequency registered for WLCR via WBCQ. Now that the 500 kW is broken,
which could operate only on 9330, possibly WBCQ could attain this
frequency with a more flexible ``classic`` transmitter? Or WLCR might
activate it from some other relay (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs July 23-24, 2021  View Printable Version

Logs
** CANADA. 28193-CW, July 23 at 1854, long string of E`s, DE, but fade
out; yet I am surely again hearing this, only N American listed:
28.193 VE4ARM C AUSTIN, MB # 5W, GP
and previously logged with opening string of 17 E`s not VVV. See also
USA for two more from MN, IA in this opening (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NETHERLANDS [non]. 5800, carrier offset +15/20 Hz, July 24 at 0200,
as soon as WOR finishes on WRMI 9395 I tune to here, for another
Europirate presented by Texas Radio Shortwave, this time Radio
Monique. Opens and closes with YROT theme, but after a brief intro
it`s nothing but the guest DJ, who has an exaggerated style and often
finishes remarx with ``Oh, Babeh`` or something like that. I never
could copy his name mentioned two or three times, but he was also with
the original pirate station in the last century. A special show
especially for America, so he will tell us what Europeans like and do
not like about US. First tune is Dancing Queen, ABBA. Later thanks
*Terry*, not Cap`n Ric, for arranging this. 1500 Dutch words are in
American English, starting with Yankee. 0214 don`t like: Americans are
non-social, racism, poverty, crazy cowboy gun laws; no one in Europe
liked Trump, a total moron. Do like: Hollywood movies, etc. 0226
another song. email radiomoniqueradio@hotmail.nl and website is a
blogspot but could not copy it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 515-MCW kHz, July 23 at 0612 UT nightly check, 25-watt ND
beacon PN, Ponca City, is gone again. It had come back on June 26,
after a long absence since last August or September. SW 255 Stillwater
remains off. My LW line noise level relented a bit (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 28286.5-CW, July 23 at 1850, beacon WB0BIN/B, yet again one
of only three audible now with Es MUF above 28 but not 88 MHz; WJ5O:

** U S A. (7489.9v), UT Sat July 24 at 0003, WBCQ webcast of `AAAWWW`:
he says not on 3265, but on 4790, 6160, 7490 tonight. I think 3265 has
been gone for several days; will that turn into months again? Olympic
opening ceremonies are my main attention, so I am not listening
closely but let it run. Quite a bit of talk about vaccinations. Allan
respects and gets them, Angela grudgingly and suspiciously. He was
about to update us on the SuperStition but a phone call interrupted,
and I never heard him get back to that. I saw a report somewhere that
9330 is running the big antenna from an old transmitter, altho I also
recall that AW said when it started that that combo would be
incompatible.

0037 Tim calls again this week, antivax stuff, refers to Alex Jones;
he axually believes COVID vax cause abortions, autism, have mercury
and aluminum in them. He gets 5 minutes this time before Allan manages
to cut him off. 0044 a parody history lesson, and how inventions of
beer and the wheel led to everything else in civilization. Also a
put-down of Liberals vs conservatives. 0053 a caller points out that
Brother Stair was a pedophile and there is video evidence; which Allan
rejects as his good friend was never convicted. Not much e-mail, but
prayer runs 3 minutes over into Hal Turner time. Here is John Carver`s
version:

``Tonight's AAWWW started on time on 7490. 6160 was running something
else for a few minutes. Allan says they're broadcasting on 4790, 6160
and 7490. Opening talk about how hot Angela is and then into the
gardening work she's been doing around the station and the areas she's
cleaning up. Allan says she has uncovered some junk cars that he will
have to get out of there and then tells us it's nearly the law that
every home in Maine have at least two junk cars somewhere on the
property. Then talk of TV cameras and comparison to the camera's in
dumbphones. Phone call at 0017 from Freddie to get the new frequency
as he didn't write it down last week. Phone call at 0021 from Canada
asking about the new frequency. Then back to dumbphones as the main
topic of conversation and then a jump to vaccines. Phone call at 0036
from Tim talking about covid vaccine reactions.

At 0044 he reads a political piece presented as humor about beer and
the wheel. Phone call at 0051 goes on attack about the guy behind WLC
and Allan gets upset. Then the guy jumps on Allan about backing
Brother Stair. Angela is urging him to hang up on the guy but Allan
lets the guy have it and tells him to remain civil and explains to the
caller and then after the call that anyone can contact the station to
state they don't agree with Allan's policies and as long as they
remain civil Allan says he welcomes the calls. Phone rings again
immediately and it's Tim again getting wound up to complain about
things and Allan quickly gets him off the phone. Very brief reading of
one email at 0058. Quick closing prayer at 0102 and then into Hal
Turner at 0103. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
