Monday, October 18 2021
** ARMENIA. 13690, Oct 18 at 1402, one of better signals on band at S4-S6 with flutter, music must be S Asian as this is TWR India in extremely convoluted language schedule by quarter-hour 1330-1500 and day-of-week, per Aoki and EiBi on Monday 1400-1415 as Vasavi, abbr`d VV or [vas], spoken by a megaperson in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Gone at 1447 recheck, tho supposedly in English at 1430-1500 M-F (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6060, Oct 18 at 0559, RHC English with horrible humbuzz now rapidly intermittent to boot, and splattering plus/minus 10 at least. Others: 6100 S9+20/30 but overmodulatedistorted; 6165 best at S9+30; 6000 still on at 0601, S9+20 with hum; 5040 now in Spanish at S9+20/30. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NEW ZEALAND. 13840, Oct 18 at 0558, RNZI achieves S9+20/30 here, better than before and now sufficient as replacement for 11725; let`s hope it continue at this level into NAm (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ROMANIA. 11880, Oct 18 until 1457*, RRI IS good and off; at end of German hour via a funxional Tsiganeshti AM transmitter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 347-MCW kHz, Oct 18 at 0618 UT, ND beacon AFK, which is 25 watts from Nebraska City NE, only one logged before I offdoze (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2108 monitoring: Alfredo Cotroneo explains why WOR was missing from IRRS 7290 & 918 Friday October 15 at 1815: On third Fridays it`s Radio City instead. None of this is shown on: https://www.nexus.org/member-services/radio-and-tv/schedules/friday-program-schedule/ Confirmed Sunday October 17 at 2230 on WRMI 5950, S9+22 and 9955, S9+30/35, both into Knoxville SDR. Also confirmed UT Monday October 18 at 0030 on WRMIs: 7730 VG direct; 9395 S9+25 and 9455 much weaker S9/S7 into Knoxville. Also confirmed after 0130 UT Mon Oct 18 on WRN N American webcast. Also confirmed from 0302.7 UT Mon Oct 18 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160 minus 53 Hz = 6159.947, S9+10 into Maryland SDR, and much stronger there than adjacent 6165 RHC. JL ran slightly over, and then Larry stuck in an ancient clip of me reciting lyrix to a Slinky song; maybe for an SWL Fest presentation? And then WOR. Next, not until Wednesday: 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support, which might have been sent via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7490v, Sunday October 17 at 2230, despite simulWOR on two WRMIs, I`m listening to second half of `UBMP` on WBCQ -- as usual the webcast is too distorted, so I`m on a Maryland SDR at S9+15/20 for better sound. Now it`s a female singer from Togo. I plan to catch the first half on secret repeat Monday at 2300 on same. I can`t help but notice that in Synch mode, this SDR shows WBCQ almost on-frequency! 7490 minus only 0.5 to 1.5 Hz. For weeks it had usually been around 100 Hz minus. I check further an hour+ later at 2337 but it`s drifted up +17.5; at 2359, +49; at 0009 Oct 18, +52; at 0028, +56 Hz. By 0215 has faded to JBA but +58 Hz. I wonder if this slow drift upwards be typical over a few hours of upwarming (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15555-USB, Oct 18 at 1453, S7 gospel huxter as WJHR is rarely audible, and/or rarely on? Glorified ham station (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Re my 1580, KFCS log, Wayne Heinen replies: ``Glenn writes: “But in Colorado Springs itself on 94.7 there is K234AJ, 84-watt Christian in English relay of KTLF 90.5. With a separate but probably previous entry for the same except call as K290AK which would not be 94.7 at all.” FCC has K290AK at 105.9 in Colorado Springs…. All the Tigre stations are owned by GREELEY BROADCASTING CORPORATION except for K276GG. MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY TRANSLATORS, LLC. which appears to be a leased operation. Colorado Springs and Pueblo are geographically separated by Cheyenne Mountain so the 94.7 xlator can easily coexist with Tigre 94.7 Glenn writes: “Where is Beulah? Remote tiny town SW of Pueblo. Strangely, nothing about KRYE 94.7 here:” {in Wikipedia} Like many of the other “City of License” locations that the FCC accepts in suburbs and surrounding grazing lands. It’s a way to shoehorn in a radio station… The Tigre brand is GREELEY BROADCASTING CORPORATION whose Tigre is out of Greeley at KGRE AM & FM and translator K271BN Estes Park are wholly owned. 73 Wayne Heinen N0POH, Editor, NRC AM Radio Log, Aurora, CO`` (via Glenn Hauser, WOR) This report dispatched at 1754 UT October 18 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Sunday, October 17 2021
** CANADA. Blitzortung shows hardly any storms in N America north of southern Mexico; so a lot of ND beacons are audible, most of them just barely, Oct 17 at 0630-0702 UT, thoroly bandscanned originally really downward:
212-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0702 UT, dash and YGX, 50 watts from Gillam MB 258-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0652 UT, dash and ZSJ, 1000 watts from Sandy Lake ON -- the only beacon in NAm on 258 per dxinfocentre.com 269-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0650 UT, dash and UDE, 50 watts from Delta MB 284-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0638 UT, dash and QD, 500 watts from The Pas MB 335-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0635 UT, dash and YLD, 1000 watts from Chapleau ON 340-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0634 UT, dash and YY, 500 watts from Mont Joli QC 346-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0634 UT, dash and YXL, 500 watts from Sioux Lookout ON 351-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0633 UT, dash and YKQ, 500 watts from Fort Rupert / Waskaganish QC 362-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0632 UT, dash and SB, 500 watts from Greater Sudbury ON See U S A for a few more interspersed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11850, Oct 17 at 2210, RHC Spanish S9+25 but severely suptorted; flanked by parasitic JBA spur carriers 11840 & vs jamming on 11860. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 11670, Oct 17 at 2159, REE best here with 2200 TS and dead air for a while. Just before that, 17855 & 15520 JBA carriers, 11940 still no signal; direct, even tho 11670 is on worst azimuth toward Africa, but lowest by MUF (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Some ND beacons not often heard but audible during a bandscan downward Oct 17 at 0630-0702 UT, interspersed among more Canadians, q.v.: 257-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0653 UT, FWC, 25 watts from Fairfield / Wayne County IL. I was tuned to 255-USB, still in absence of SW Stillwater OK. And FWC has a very brief pause between repeats 282-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0639 UT, ROS, 25 watts from Rush City MN. The only NDB on this frequency anywhere in N America; and a rare new one for me, I think. Rush City is at exit 159 of I-35, N of MSP. 329-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0636 UT, PMV, 25 watts from Plattsmouth NE 417-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0631 UT, IY, 25 watts from Charles City IA; better copy tuned to 415-USB 420-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0630 UT, FQ, 25 watts from Fairmont MN And next daytime: 341-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 1506 UT, OIN, 25 watts from Oberlin KS - still in absence of local EI Enid - it had a long pause, so must not hasten across frequency to be sure it`s still AWOL from its 3 little dits (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2108 monitoring: zzz here past 1300 for the Sunday October 17 at 1230 on WMRI Europe, 9670 via Germany; did anyone hear it and how was the co-channel QRM?? Confirmed Sun Oct 17 at 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia 918 kHz, good into Noale SDR. Next: 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW; 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support, which might have been sent via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1580 et al.., reply to questions raised with KFCS log: ``Glenn writes: “But in Colorado Springs itself on 94.7 there is K234AJ, 84-watt Christian in English relay of KTLF 90.5. Sunday, October 17 2021
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Oct 16 at 1440 and later, NO signals from LRA36 into two Brasilia SDRs or one Montevideo; another Saturday missed, but always only a repeat of Wednesday, if any then (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6960-AM, Oct 17 at 0014 S9/+10 of old song from 30s/40s; 0016 DJ over music, ``This is --??-- Radio, moving to 6965``. But it keeps going on 6960-AM with soul music; 0015 ID as ``--??-- AM``, and still 6960 at 0017 when I finally check 6965. 6965-USB: there is a station here now, much louder and in USB with rock; 6960-AM continues much softer altho also reading S9+10, tho 6965-USB now peaks at S9+20. At 0025 ID as Wolverine Radio on the upper one. I guess for a while before I tuned in there was a clash on 6960, altho I only heard one. These reports say it was Wolverine moving from 6960 to 6965, keyword ``back`` in song titles: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87825.0.html 6960-AM, at 0028, catch a Ball Smacker Radio ID. It had been a regular on same frequency previous nights UT Saturdays from 0100. More tonight reports of BSR: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87826.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [non]. 5925, Oct 16 at 0320, VOA panel show pauses to plug downloads available of various programs, S8/S9. This is 100 kW via Botswana, English at 0300-0500, beam switch at 0400 from 10 to 350 degrees, maybe slightly improving thisaway, but anyway sufficient (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2108 monitoring: confirmed UT Sat Oct 16 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, S8/S9+10 into MO SDR, fade down to S7 before concluding. Also confirmed Sat Oct 16 at 1600 on WRN N American webcast. Also confirmed Sat Oct 16 at 1942 UT, about 12 minutes into, so started about on time 1930, on reactivated WA0RCR, 1860-AM, Wentzville MO, S9+8 into nearby Warrenton SDR. Also confirmed Sat Oct 16 at 2330 on WRMI 5950, S9+27 into TN SDR. Also confirmed UT Sun Oct 17 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, S9+30 direct. Also confirmed UT Sun Oct 17 from 0323 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, S9+9 into nearby KB0FX SDR. Next: 1230 UT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670 [new] 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW; 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support, which might have been sent via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WBCQ, `AAAWWW`, UT Sat Oct 16 at 0000, report from John Carver arrived a minute too late to include in my own previous report: ``Tonight's show started more or less on time this evening. Poor signal on 7490 and at times there was no signal at all. 6160 dropped out a few times and all that could be heard was Cuba. Actually this evening the best signal is on 4790 and it's not all that great. Opening comment from Angela about the rain forest. Allan says he's tired of always talking politics and would like to just talk about radio for a change but talks politics to try and prove to us that the government is out to get us. Also takes jabs at his favorite, the IRS and Congress. He posits that instead of defunding the police we should be defunding the government. Defends Trump's efforts to try and reform the government. He says that the government is after our wallets and Angela states that it's our rights they want to take. He apologizes to us for all the problems with the superstation stating they have not been able to run more than thirty-six hours till another problem pops up. The company still has someone there tinkering with the transmitter and whenever they turn around a new problem pops up. He is very upset about this transmitter but had wanted to buy American and wonders if that was a mistake on his part. Says that if he had been thinking he would have put a backup transmitter in place to avoid downtime but since it was brand new and American made he thought it would be alright. They are looking into a backup transmitter now. Phone call at 0023 from Rabishu about a foreign ham net which Angela answered at Allan's urging. Then some talk about Nearfest and their plans to be there next spring. Allan wants to read the Free Radio Weekly and while trying to find it gets a message from Hal Turner saying that his website is under attack and he doesn't know if tonight's show will stream or not and Allan calls out for whoever is monitoring his program at the station to see if Hal Turner's show shows up on the feed tonight. Phone call at 0049 from a preacher who is also a radio pirate and calls himself the Gospel Gunslinger. He finally finds the Free Radio Weekly and reads a few items from it. Then a bit more about politics and reading of emails at 0056. Closing prayer at 0100 and off the air at 0102. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (via Glenn Hauser, WOR) ** U S A. 7780, Oct 16 at 0323, WRMI S9/+10, much stronger than usual here off the side of the NE azimuth, yet still weaker than 7730 & 7570 with TOMBS. Here we hear the often-played Andean tune on quena and guitar, so must be world-music filler; 0325, Bishop Bob Biermann claims this is ``9395`` --- what does he know? It so happens on the skedgrids, the 0300-0330 block is a blank space, neither System F nor System D (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085, UT Sun Oct 17 at 0003, WTWW-2 already in `TOUTA`, but it`s also prime time for pirates which I attend; by 0040 I have switched to WTWW-2 $ tereo webcast, but Bob Heil is already wrapping it up at 0047, promoting *next* week to be the best ever, tribute to George Wright. That was supposed to be *this* week as of *last* week, so evidently this is a repeat of that instead of new --- they all start to sound alike. 0049 it`s over to hardsell Tedad, so if really an hour long must have started circa 2347 Oct 16 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, Oct 16 at 0322, WRNO is gone again (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1580, Oct 16 at 0610 UT, briefly atop CCI jumble, Spanish super-hype voice actor (SHVA) ID as ``Tigre`` --- that`s KFCS, Colorado Springs CO, 140 watts non-direxional at night, per NRC AM Log, referring to FM 94.7. It`s also the closest and by far most likely of the few USSS on 1580. However, this is a confusing and convoluted situation. NRC shows the FM translator for KFCS-1580 is K276GG on 103.1; while the station group ``Tigre 94.7`` consists of those two stations plus KRYE 94.7. Presumably KRYE 94.7 is the real originator of all this. WTFDA FM DB for 94.7 in CO shows KRYE itself is in Beulah, 18 kW as ``La Fiebre`` with Spanish Tejano format. Could ``Tigre`` be confused with similar sounding ``Fiebre``?? But there`s more. KRYE has a booster -FM1 also on 94.7 in Pueblo with 2.1 kW. But in Colorado Springs itself on 94.7 there is K234AJ, 84-watt Christian in English relay of KTLF 90.5. With a separate but probably previous entry for the same except call as K290AK which would not be 94.7 at all. Where is Beulah? Remote tiny town SW of Pueblo. Strangely, nothing about KRYE 94.7 here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beulah,_Colorado But site is not really in Beulah, rather 12 minutes to the south and 2 minutes east, comparing geo coordinates. Ah, for the good ole days of XEDM Hermosillo on clear channel 1580 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Oct 16 at 0312-0316 UT: 531(2), 585, 684(2), 711(2), 738(2), 774(2), 837, 882(2), 936, 999(2), 1044, 1098(2), 1107, 1125, 1152 kHz (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0345 UT October 17 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
