Glenn Hauser logs October 25-26, 2021 |
|
Tuesday, October 26 2021
** JAPAN [non]. 9705, Mon Oct 25 at 1440, S6-S9 kid chorus of ``Doe, a Deer, a Female Deer`` seemingly in English, so what`s this? Furusato no Kaze, clandestine for N Korea via TAIWAN site. Then 1443 announcement in Japanese and another song; was this a language lesson, and why? ``Sound of Music`` relates to DPRK how? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 17855, Mon Oct 25 at 2200, token English from REE is best here, S7-S5 but deeper fades to S3; 15520 JBA, 11940 no signal surely off, 11670 JBA carrier. Amy first corrects a phone number for voice mail she gave last week but only utters it once and could not copy; not that I would ever use it. Email is english@rtve.es - less than 2 minutes of news mainly Sudan coup; 2202 feature interviewing a non-Spanish flamenco guitarist who participated in the soundtrack for the new James Bond film, and could not catch his name (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, Oct 25 at 2210, fairly good VOT signal S9+10/20, different OM voice than usual ending `Review of the Turkish Press` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2109 monitoring. we were out getting vaccine booster, so could not check Sun Oct 24 at 2000 on IRRS via 918 kHz. Confirmed Sun Oct 24 at 2230 on WRMIs: 5950 S9+15, 9955 S8 both into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 25 at 0030 on WRMIs: 7730 S9+10/15 into Missouri SDR; much louder than 9455 into same yet S9+12. 9395, S7 into Maryland. Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 25 at 0116, the 0100 on Global Community Radio webcast, supposedly relayed by some LP FM stations. Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 25 at 0130 on WRN North America webcast. Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 25 at 0300 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160-, JBA into MD & MO SDRs, offset -50 Hz = 6159.950, and with ACI de RHC 6165 requiring LSB tuning. But by 0322, surged to S9/+12 into MD, still ACI. Next, not until Wednesday: 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. Thanks this week to Chris Campbell, Ohio for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 6160-, Oct 25 at 0621, WBCQ with rock music, presumably extension of Area 51 feed, rather than TOMBS. And 4790 is S9+10 with protracted dead air instead of TOMBS, vs CODAR swirshes. Simul on WRMIs, TOMBS with long pauses between outbursts at first seeming dead air, but apparently such on original recording (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4840, UT Mon Oct 25 at 0623, WWCR-3 with Old Time Radio comedy, sounded like some Jack Benny, and an Alice character, but 0629 closing as having been `Classic Radio Theatre` with Phil Harris & Alice Faye show of April 22, 1950, from network GCN, which otherwise flushes far-right crap. Own sked dated Oct 1 shows TOMBS is supposed to be on now. C.R.T. does not appear at *any* time on any of the four WWCR schedules. Something`s always wacky at WWCR. TOMBS is still running on 3215, WWCR-1, whew! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search Oct 26 at 0132-0138 UT: 531, 549, 585, 612, 621, *684(2), 693, 711, 729, 774(2), 819, 837, *855(2), 882, 936, 999, 1053, 1089, 1107(2), 1125(2), 1143, 1152, 1215, 1305(2), 1413 kHz. *strongest, probably Spain as many of the rest; (2) at least two carriers beating (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) TIPS FOR RATIONAL LIVING Insurrectionist Envy --- Deep down, we wish we had their guts (minus the insanity & violence) --- Michael Moore https://www.michaelmoore.com/p/insurrectionist-envy This report dispatched at 0245 UT October 26 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

** U S A. Correxion: tnx to Steve Howe for catching this: 5950, not 5900; fixed:
5950, UT Sun Oct 24 at 0000, WRMI starts Texas R SW with `YROT` theme, intro by Second Mate Susan of Europirate KR1, 6285, Mike Express. Unfortunately I have to listen during this hour to the only broadcast/$ tereo webcast of `TOUTA` on WTWW-2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Sunday, October 24 2021
** CUBA. 11760, Oct 24 at 1419, RHC is S9 of humbuzz only; something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** KURDISTAN [non]. 11530, Oct 24 at 1420, ME music S8-S9 with a fast SAH; 1458 still with roughly equal clash, i.e. Denge Welat and TURKEY jamming. D.W. is supposed to switch site from PRIDNESTROVYE to FRANCE at 1500, but I detect no break or change as music continues until 1501 one of them starts to talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 341-MCW kHz, re my observation that NDB in Enid, EI, has not been heard here in weeks, even from the airport parking lot, Harold Frodge forwards this reply From Dave Tomasko: ``Heard by Joe Farley 9/26, Doug Springfield 7/24/ Was off for about 6 months between 11/20 to 5/21. Not sure where Glen[n] is checking?? Not heard here often, but will give it a call out when it shows up. Last time I caught this guy was 10/19.`` ? where I`m checking? About 10 miles away from EI 341 in Enid. When on it`s always very weak, probably less than rated 25 watts. Or maybe it get out better via skywave than groundwave? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2109 monitoring: again no one has replied to my request for European monitoring of our new broadcast via WMRI Europe, via Channel 292, Germany, 9670, Sundays at 1230 UT. So I crawl out of bed myself to check at 1233 Oct 24 via UTwente SDR, and pleased to hear a VG signal S8-S9 with no CCI from the simultaneous Vietnam clandestine from Taiwan; but some adjacent splash, yet nothing on 9675 or 9665. Must be from the China radio wars on 9680 & 9660 CNR1 echoing. At 1235 the 9670 signal suddenly surges as if power up or antennaed up? To S9+25. Readout as only 4 Hz off-frequency-minus and modulation is also good and clear. Note from next week will be one real UT hour later, Sundays at 1330, possibly a different QRM situation. I wonder what else be on this test transmission Sundays only, but the schedule here is extremely uninformative, not even WOR: https://wmrieurope.com/wrmi_schedule/ Ha, note even they typed it wrmi by mistake. Next: 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW; 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. Sunday, October 24 2021
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2109 monitoring: confirmed Sat Oct 23 ending at 2011 via WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, S9+9 into nearby KB0FX SDR
Also confirmed Sat Oct 23 at 2330 on WRMI 5950, offset +21.6 Hz, S9+28 into TN SDR. Also confirmed UT Sun Oct 24 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, S9+10/20 into MO SDR, but inaudible in TN: too close and too high? Also confirmed UT Sun Oct 24 at 0321 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, about 4 minutes into so started about 0317; S9+10 into KB0FX SDR with storm crashes, from a front right across MO into southern IL. Next: [reports please on the 9670 broadcast: how well in Europe, QRM?] 1230 UT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW; 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. 5950, Saturday at 2200 UT, WRMI starts a 4- or 5-hour string of worthwhile programming, certainly unlike weekdays, on System L, via transmitter 8, aimed almost north, 355 degrees: `Encore`, classical music, which is when I usually listen to it; 2300 `Wavescan` among innumerable repeats but this one is pre-Sunday nominal turnovers; 2330 WORLD OF RADIO; UT Sun 0000 `Texas Radio Shortwave` with two different hours each week including Europirate relays; 0200-0300 `Alt Universe Top 40` maybe too, I`ve not listened to but if you`re into that, see detailed setup on the Programming page. Since System L is displayed in ET, expect all the above times to shift one UT hour later from November 12-13; barring any further permanent changes. Unfortunately, heavy competition now such as: 00-01 `Theater Organ Under The Arch` on WTWW-2 5085, axually starting 5-10 minutes earlier; `The Mighty KBC` at 00-02 on 5960; `Encore` encore at 01-02 on other WRMIs, 5850 & 7780 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (5085), Sat Oct 23 at 2355, WTWW-2 webcast already into `TOUTA` for ~1 hour show, tribute to Bob Heil`s mentor and friend, George Wright, partly narrated by GW himself; 0049 UT Sun Oct 24 already wrapping up, plugging webcast available at ``WTWW.org`` --- NO, not unless they buy it from a squatter for $ 4988! It`s WTWW.us, strangely a seldom-used domain, why? Over at 0052, into hardsell Tedad (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5900, UT Sun Oct 24 at 0000, WRMI starts Texas R SW with `YROT` theme, intro by Second Mate Susan of Europirate KR1, 6285, Mike Express.
