** CUBA. 12200, June 30 at 0535, RHC `Music with a Message`, somewhat
distorted at S6-S7, second harmonic of 6100, which is S9+30 with the
same overmodulation distortion. While // 6165 is S9+10/20 and
undermodulated but not distorted; // 6000 same S9+10/20 suppressed
modulation yet is distorted (i.e. suptorted). // 5040 is S9+10/20 with
less distortion. Show features old American protest songs, just
another attempt to further its anti-American mantra. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 11880, June 30 at 1344, CRI relay transmitter is already on
with S9+20 of open carrier prior to 1400 broadcast in English. Think
how many nutritious meals undernourished Cubans could be fed for the
expense of broadcasting 250 kW of nothing for a quarter-hour. Not to
mention all the dead air from spy numbers frequencies. Something`s
always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 6185, June 30 at 0327, NO signal from XEPPM, as Manuel
Méndez, Spain has also been noting for a few nights. Let`s hope
Mexico`s last SWBC station is not gone forever too (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NIGERIA. 11769.9, June 30 at 0602, talk presumed Hausa from Voice
of Nigeria, S9/S9+10 and somewhat undermodulated. Nothing to be heard
on 7254.9 or 9689.9. It seems that VON has replaced all its previous
frequencies with this one; why? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** SOLOMON ISLANDS. 9545, June 30 at 0455, JBA signal, S3-S4 with
traces of modulation, presumed SIBC as Ron Howard has reported
reactivated on its daytime frequency scheduled until 0500* switch to
5020 (and which carrier becomes audible by 0600 as I have noted). So I
listen carefully whether this 9545 will turn off – yes! Cut at
0459:23*. 24 hours earlier, Wolfgang Bueschel measured it on the
Brisbane remote: ``9544.998 1/2 kHz at 0453 UT on June 29``.
(Meanwhile the only other Pacific signal, NZ on 9700, has just come on
at S9+10 for one hour.) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1988 monitoring: confirmed UT
Sunday June 30 at 0130 on WRMI 5850, VG S9+20/30.

Also confirmed UT Sun June 30 at 0328 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, only 2
minutes into, so started circa 0326. S9+20/30 but that includes
considerable summer storm noise level, none nearby.

Still no reports of anyone hearing any of the three broadcasts via
Hamburger LokalRadio, 6190, 9485 or 7265. Next:

Also check 9330 WBCQ for unscheduled airings during testing phase.

(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7490+, June 30 at 0147 just as I tune in, this WBCQ cuts off
the air amid some program, presumably `SW Saturday Night`. Maybe there
was an overall power failure or storm, as this correlates with Richard
Langley, NB at 0201:

``9330 kHz putting in a fairly good signal into NB just 100 km from
the station with the Lumpy Gravy Radio Show (not live -- from a
Thanksgiving) at 0145 UT this evening (30 June UT). At the time, 5130
kHz was airing the same program but offset a second or two. 5130 was
not heard when rechecked at 0150. 3265 kHz was also on earlier with a
different program but gone by 0150 UT, too.``

I don`t check again until 0329 when 9330.00 is on with `SW Saturday
Night` as J.P. Is starting his ``train set``; nothing at all audible
now on 7490+ or 5130+. I think there was another old AWWW playback
after 0400.

9330+, by 0534 June 30, WBCQ-6 is off and low-power Brother Scare is
resumed (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5050, UT Sun June 30 at 0327, WWRB is still on with gospel
huxtress, S9+20/30. I think I was already hearing it by 2300 Saturday,
but not logged. Who knows what the real schedule is? Website
http://www.wwrb.org/ remains totally outdated mentioning only winter
frequencies 3215 & 3185 [sic], and no link to a program schedule;
there may still be a now-imaginary old one lacking a link if I could
find my bookmark. Dave Frantz has made it abundantly clear what a low
priority WWRB is for him below his aeronautical business. I think 5050
is active only on Sat/Sun and Sun/UT Mon (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1210, UT Sun June 30 at 0558, at least two talk stations
mixing with 3 Hz SAH, typical beat of KGYN OK vs WJNL MI daytimer, but
can`t get an ID past 0607. Unknown what program is on UT Sun, as
`Beyond Reality` is probably UT Tue-Sat, and Jim Bohannon was last UT
Mon. I`m confident this is still WJNL cheating, as I remain waiting to
see if anyone else ever report it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 5990, June 29 at 2316, CRI English relay is S7-S9 but JBM; if
// 15120, no signal there. Definitely off is 6000 RHC since this is
Saturday, so no leapfrog on 6010 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENIG
DIGEST)

** NIGERIA. 11769.901, June 29 at 1734, JBA carrier, presumably Voice
of Nigeria, as others have been reporting it on this `new` frequency
``11770`` both morning and evening. Axually 11770 is a very old
frequency of theirs which had been disused for many years. The offset
is in keeping with all its other frequencies shifted circa 0.1 kHz to
the low side. Wolfgang Bueschel measured it June 28 on 11769.903 ---
close enough. (I also have another stronger carrier about 11770.9,
probably from a local device.) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** ROMANIA. 9760, June 29 at 2321, song at S3-S6, presumed RRI; yes,
// 11800 & 11900 when a Spanish announcement soon follows. Can`t hear
any of that underneath 11700 RHC, so RRI may have wisely vacated that
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 9830, June 29 at 2306, Türkisch musik, as once again the
sloppyrators at Emiler have dozed? failing to turn 9830 off before
2300 when Englisch is finisched. A repeat of the German hour always
follows on the program feed; I recheck just in time at 2319 to hear a
few words of German before it is chopped off the air at 2319:45*
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1988 monitoring: confirmed first
NAm SWBC, Friday June 28 at 2200 on WRMI 9955, fair, no upcut but
joined at start about 2159:50 after ID which also ran a bit early.

Also confirmed UT Saturday June 29 at 0130 on WRMI 7780, poor-fair.

No reports yet from anyone about HLR 6190 Sat June 29 at 0630v; or
9485 Sat June 29 at 1430. For the latter, no trace of a signal heard
by UTwente SDR, just huge splash from 9490 Romania.

Not confirmed Sat June 29 at 2030 on WRMI 15770 --- instead, Wavescan
as now shown on skedgrid; so that did not last long, WOR only for the
past two weeks. I go on to search the WRMI sked and find more
changes:

UT Monday at 0130 now a blank space on 9395; but WOR added on 7780,
while remaining on 7780 an hour later at 0230. To be confirmed.

Confirmed Sat June 29 at 2100 on WRMI 9955, again upcut during theme
after my first utterance, poor S7-S9 vs summer noise level.

Not confirmed Sat June 29 at 2130 on WBCQ 9330 when an ad-hoc airing
occurred last week while testing; not on the air this early. Next:
0130 UT Sunday WRMI 5850
0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315]

** U S A. 9330.00, Fri June 28 at 2200, WBCQ-6 after a rockhour,
another old `AWWW` playback starts with WTO. Reckeck UT Sat June 29 at
0000 for a new `Allan Weiner Worldwide`, yes, except it`s hosted by
TimTron, from his own studio in Skowhegan.

Whenever he or Larry Will guests, it`s an entirely different show
hardly worthy of the AWWW title. TimTron muses and plays a lot of
music, does not take calls, rather like his own show. I think I heard
only one belch. His booming voice goes nicely with the booming signal,
but never distorted. There does seem to be a background noise vox
effect buildup during brief pauses, AVC?

Says it might be his first and last time on the 500 kW. I`ll bet he`d
love to hook his ham rig up to the Ampegon antenna. As I understand
it, while ham transmitter power is strictly limited, antenna gain is
not. I`ve previously heard WA1HLR on 80 meters with a
broadcast-strength AM signal and wondered if that was really WBCQ
equipment.

Here is John Carver`s report about that hour:

Tonight's show started on time on 7490 but it's TimTron hosting
instead of Allan. Theme song plays at 0002. He marvels at the
superstation and says he never ever thought about such a thing. He
managed an analogy between the superstation and golf. Said a golfer
will study the lay of the land and chose the best club to get the ball
to the hole. Sometimes it's a ten kW club and they hope the ball makes
it there. With the superstation they're using a 500 kW club and hit
more than one hole at the same time.

He says there will be no email this evening as he's afraid that his
computer is dying and he's had enough problems with the internet relay
there that he's afraid that if he fires up another computer for email
it might blow the internet connection. No phone calls as he doesn't
want to give out his phone number. Then some music and back to talk.

Some anti-Trump talk and then waxes philosophic in an attempt to
explain how Trump got elected in the first place. He jumps back to the
Vietnam war and then jumps back and forth to explain what happened to
the people in this country and how they do or don't react to things.
Music and back to talk.

He blames part of the problem on the demise of broadcasting in this
country along with the fairness doctrine which allowed such things as
the FOX network and Rush Limbaugh. Said that with the dying out of AM
and FM stations and the cloning of stations so they all were alike
coast to coast we were in big trouble and should the internet go down
because of global conflict along with the demise of shortwave
broadcasters we'd really be in big trouble and wouldn't have the
information to make an informed choice.

Some more music, talk, music, talk with a closing jab at Trump over
immigration policies and then closed with more music. Both the program
and 7490 were off at 0100. John, Mid-North Indiana``

I am rechecking 9330 after 0600 June 29 when another `AWWW` playback
is running, AW along with Tom Barna in studio. At 0620 AW recommends
reading something in RCA Broadcast News, May 1934, available at
amemricanradiohistoroy.com about what? Maybe early high-power AM
broadcasting.

9330.00 is not on by 2100 this Saturday June 29, or 2200? Retune at
2259, now on with open carrier, music and ID loop hitting S9+35-40-45;
2301, 500,000 watts ID and sirens, TimTron opening his new live June
29 show which he says is trimulcasting also on 5130+ (JBA carrier
here) and ``propagation test frequency 3265`` (zero here; and 7490
remains off). Until 2323 he`s mostly playing music, then another
500,000 watts ID.

People getting used to such super-entertainment are going to be very
disappointed when, July 8, the flat-earth World`s Last Chance ministry
takes over 9330 --- we can only hope that a bit of time can be carved
out/retained for some of WBCQ`s own programs (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5085, Sat June 29 at 2343, WTWW-2 starts `Theatre Organ in
the Ozarx` late again after some hamshow runover, so I switch to
stereo webcast which lasts until 2417, never just 30 minutes or 29.
This time I hear Bob Heil intro giving his location in the Ozarx as
Pleasant Hope --- not Pleasant Hill. I`m surprised no one ever
corrected me about that, as I contradicted him more than once pointing
out that Pleasant Hill, which is what I thought he was saying, is near
Kansas City, beyond the Ozarx. Pleasant Hope really is in the Ozarx a
few miles north of Springfield, and ARRL/FCC lookup confirms that is
where K9EID is to be found. If I make a mistake I want it corrected
sooner or later, even if I have to do it myself (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1210, UT Sat June 29 at 0606 UT, scary theme music
recognized of `Beyond Reality Radio`, which means for the sixth night,
daytimer WJNL Kingsley MI is again operating; with ~3 Hz SAH from
KGYN, which this time even when nulled is too strong to allow much
signal from WJNL. Has anyone else logged WJNL cheating by now?? NTMK

hunt, ignoring the ``in-band`` ones above 11500, except to note they
match 11785 and 11825.

11460, June 28 at 1222, much weaker carrier than 11440 CNR1 jammer.

11150, June 28 at 1223, CNR1 jammer. In EiBi, not Aoki.

11100, June 28 at 1227, CNR1 jammer. Unlike all the others, this one
has a LAH = low audible heterodyne varying slightly on hi side, maybe
Sound of Hope target itself. EiBi in fact shows SOH on 11100.1

12190, June 28 at 1229, CNR1 jammer.

13160, June 28 at 1231, CNR1 jammer strongest, S7-S9

13550, June 28 at 1231, JBA carrier, CNR1 jammer? Not in EiBi or Aoki

13870, June 28 at 1232, CNR1 jammer.

14700, June 28 at 1233, JBA carrier, unlisted CNR1 jammer?

14850, June 28 at 1234, Chinese, CNR1 jammer

14980, June 28 at 1235, CNR1 jammer, second strongest WOOB, S6-S8.

15920, June 28 at 1235, Chinese, CNR1 jammer.

No other way-out-of-band ones found in the 10-16 MHz range. U.o.s.,
all listed as CNR1 jammer/SOH frequencies (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 12000, June 28 at 1218, RHC is S7-S8 here, bonus harmonic of
6000, which is S9 to S9+10; while 6100 with CCI from CRI in Russian if
not also KCBS Pyongyang; 6100 has no bonus harmonic to be heard on
12200! Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, June 28 at 0602, VON is gone again (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 12350-USB, June 28 at 1228, WCY conveying marine weather
outlooks for Caribyachts, but also with a carrier partially
demodulating him --- i.e., local mixing product of 13740 RHC minus
1390 KCRC = 12350; and which goes away with preamps off (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7505, June 28 at 0602, WRNO is gone again, after having been
in well at 0236. Curtailed ``schedule``? Or just totally unreliable
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 11111.1-USB, June 28 at 1227 during CNR1 jammer
bandscan, find JBA 2-way in Spanish. I bet I know how they picked this
frequency. Or is it 11111.11? Hard to tell with no carrier just
relying on how normal the voices sound (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 13728-USB, June 28 at 1409, S8, 2-way in colloquial
Spanish expletiving plenty of ``puta madres``, and with loud ``engine
noise`` keeping the vox on during pauses; aircraft? Finally cambio to
contact at 1411 who has different and softer background noise. 1440
recheck the louder one still going. This frequency is now available
since RHC cleaned up its spurs from 13700 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 7470, June 27 at 0323, Station YHWH, anti-Christ
pirate at S9, checked after tip a few minutes ago from Walt Salmaniw,
BC, that this was strongest ever for him in BC. Pretty good signal
here, but modulation level fades quite a bit, or even cuts down and
up, independent of signal strength fades while watching the S-meter
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 17530, June 27 at 1707, VOA news about the Democratic debate
last night with soundbites, good S9+10 signal fading to S7 probably
with some sporadic-E boost; this is the only known English broadcast
remaining from Grimesland NC, at 1700-1830. 1730 program changes to
`Reporters` Roundtable` discussing elexions in Africa, with African
accents (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7780, June 28 at 0235, something Slavic in English, must be
UKRAINE via WRMI, #1 transmitter back on tonight after missing last
night during World of Radio (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9265V, UT Friday June 28 at 0232, Ray Robinson talking about
David Sarnoff, so this must be `AWR Wavescan` as now scheduled on
WINB; also Mondays at 2100 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7505.007, June 28 at 0236, WRNO is back! With hymn in
English, S9+10. Had been missing for a few weeks whenever checked in
01-13 UT span (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1210, June 27 at 0600 UT newscast under sportstalk, 0603
also a song QRM; 0604 mention Westwood I; 0605 ad for something in
Traverse City, 0606 BRR theme? 0607 opening `Beyond Reality Radio`; so
the latter items nail this as WJNL, Kingsley MI, 50 kW daytimer now
caught four days in a row on air in the nightmiddle, when I tend to
check around bedtime. SAH of 184/minute, correlating with the usual
beat against probably KGYN OK.

Besides the silent-night ``schedule`` of 0030-0900 UT, WJNL also has a
critical-hours proviso of 2.5 kW, which means reduced to that power 2
hours after sunrise and before sunset, i.e. 2230-2430 & 0900-1100 UT
--- Not inbooming, so could be on that power now instead of 50 kW.

Finally on the fifth night I try for WJNL earlier: 0248 UT June 28 I
detect the tones of Jim Bohannon, whom I had heard on the first night,
UT Monday after 0607 in a weekend playback. NRC AM Log shows WJNL an
affiliate of JBo among many others; yet the Jim Bohannon show itself
does not know this, despite a station list all on one page easily
searched; in fact no station known on 1210:
http://www.jimbohannonshow.com/station-finder/
Also now has the usual SAH of ~3 Hz, and KGYN ID at 0259 UT. And
another day passes with no other known DX logs of WJNL cheating (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 15807, June 27 at 1348, strong multiple carriers about
0.65 kHz apart centered near here; S9 about same level as Es-enhanced
15825 WWCR, so I wonder if WTWW-3 be experimenting with some digital
mode, nominal 15810 but not heard often or lately. Only in FM mode do
we hear one clear tone at high E-flat, compared to my keyboard, or
approx. 1244 Hz per:
http://pages.mtu.edu/~suits/notefreqs.html
but it cuts off at 1415* --- not sure whether a local device.

Tuning around again at 1709, I hear some similar sounds not on 15807,
but first around 15861, and then at 60-62 kHz intervals but variable
strengths and some of them missing: 15617, 15556, 15496, 15435, 15373,
15250, 15129, 15007. Except for Saudio on 15435 only. I suspect this set
are from a local device, as on the PL-880, they weaken as I walk away
from the house (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
