Glenn Hauser logs November 21-22, 2021  View Printable Version
Tuesday, November 23 2021

Logs
** CUBA. 11880, Nov 21 at 2235, S9+10/S8 of silence except for some
hum, but at least the RHC `English` hour is on the dead air.
Something`s always wrong at RHC.

11880, Nov 22 at 2253, RHC is S9/S7 but undermodulating in English, so
they`re still attempting to do it from 2200. Something`s always wrong
at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6100, Nov 22 at 0640, RHC incorrect language, Spanish; while
the rest of The Cuban Five are still sufficiently Englishing: 6000,
6060, 6165, 5040. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** EGYPT [and non]. 9989.57 approx., Nov 21 at 2235, R. Cairo must be
trying again, with a VP carrier direct hetting stronger 9900.00 which
supplies the Chinese audible. The latter CNR jamming or RTI scheduled
to start at 2230 before the English sesquihour from Abis be over at
2245 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9899.590, Nov 22 at 2111, big carrier with het/tone, into
UTWente, at first in Synch mode displaying as 9889.291 but ``not
locked``. Jiggling a bit, it does lock as the first frequency above.
2115 trace of suptorted music, 4+1 timesignal cuts thru at least 30
seconds late --- but probably from studio recording, rather than a
truly accurate source, rather like the opening of VORW. I can tell the
JBM talk is in English with occasional recognizable words, 2118 sounds
like a program summary. Wiggle that patchcord! Something`s always
egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 11975+, Nov 22 at 1531, perceptibly slightly
off-frequency+plus in Romanian; yes, it`s RRI bihour via Galbeni site
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Monday November 22 at 2300, REE token English is VG
via Maryland remote; first news leading with more vulcanism at La
Palma; circa 2310 Justin Coe`s feature celebrating St. Cecelia today,
mostly early music such as Josquin des Prez and Tomás Luis de
Victoria, but 2327 concluding with Wátermelon Slim, ``She Makes Me
Earn My Money`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [non]. 5960, Nov 22 at 2330, not a trace of VOT English into
UTwente, which must be AWOL again, rather Chinese at S9, which is PBS
Xinjiang, Urumqi, land of imperialist Chinese genocide against Uyghurs
and other Moslems; and now it`s not off-frequency but right on .000. A
few hours later on 5960-, Kuwait is always way off-frequency.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2113 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
November 21 at 2100 on IRRS SW via AM Italia 918 kHz, well above CCI
and SAH caused by R. Inter, Spain, as heard at Noale SDR. BTW, back in
2015y its full name was R. Intereconomia, per WRTH 2016, but I don`t
see any EA+ callsign.

Also confirmed Sunday November 21 at 2330 on WRMIs: 9955 S9+20/27, no
jamming audible; 5950 S9+20/30 into Missouri SDR.

Also confirmed UT Monday November 22 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, S9+30/20
into MO; and OK into KS.

Also confirmed UT Monday November 22 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, no signal
into KS, but audible S9 into Winnipeg, but fading down to S7 by 0136
and gone by 0157.

Also confirmed UT Mon Nov 22 at 0230 on WRN to North America webcast.

Also confirmed UT Mon Nov 22 at 0400 on Area 51 via WBCQ webcast; VP
into Missouri SDR on 6160 minus 55 Hz = 6159.945, reads S9 but heavy
ACI from 6165 Cuba S9+30/20. Inaudible at Maryland SDR. Next:

2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?]
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 5010 to S

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:

support. By MO or check in US funds on a US bank to
Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702

One may also contribute PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [non]. 9275, Nov 22 at 1534, S8/S3 song/hymn in Chinese. It`s
still FEBC, Bocaue site, PHILIPPINES at 1000-1600. Aoki calls it
``i-Radio Liangyou`` probably from a ``partner organisation``.

9275 is of course the only known frequency planned for the imminent
revival of WMLK, but registered for 1700-2200 only so there would be
no conflict; but would neighbor in more ways than one, WINB find 9265
too close for comfort? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6925.0-AM, Nov 22 at 2254, JBA music S9-S7. These say it
was Coastal Rock Radio:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,89427.0.html

6919.9-AM, Nov 22 at 2255, JBA carrier: another NAm pirate? But no
equivalent log in HFU (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs November 20-21, 2021  View Printable Version
Sunday, November 21 2021

Logs
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, Sat Nov 20 at 1523 check, NO LRA36
signal into Pardinho, Brasil SDR. Now it`s pretty clear they are in
summer hiatus, so I may not keep reporting non-logs until resurgence,
in Feb or Mar? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 401 MCW kHz, Nov 21 at 0729, dash and YPO, 500 watt ND
beacon at Peawanuck, Ontario.

376 MCW kHz, Nov 21 at 0732, dash and YAG, 40 watt NDB at Fort Frances
ON. Copied as YAO but must have been this. Only these two as again
confronting ``heat blower noise`` from some ``neighbor`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11880, Sat Nov 20 at 2200, 2219 chex, NO signal from RHC
English as supposedly scheduled this B-21 hour, into Missouri, Brasil,
RSA SDRs. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13568 approx., Nov 21 at 1557, RHC FMish spurblob with F#
tone, S3, i.e. minus 132 kHz from 13700-AM, so it`s 2nd order; and
first should be minus 66 kHz = 13634: and there it is, a bit stronger
S6, but cuts off at 1558* as 13700 has also been turned off before I
can check matches on plus side which should be 13766 and 13832; not to
mention 3+ multiples outward. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15140, Nov 21 at 1601, RHC still in Spanish // 11760 and
9710. 1603 Spanish ``sign-off`` 15140 & 11760 redirecting to FM. 1604
finally starts Sunday-only Esperanto late, and 9710 is off.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9900, Nov 20 at 2140 check, NO signal from R. Cairo, English
into UTwente; however some 9 MHz broadcasts are again being reported
on Nov 21 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 15, November 21 around 0435 UT, tuning thru the
virtual channels of KTBO, the TBN station in OKC, I see on 14-5 an old
B&W movie instead of gospel-huxtering; silenced with captions I am
startled to see something about ``big tits`` --- on TBN!!! Soon
recognized as `Paper Moon` starring Tatum O`Neal (who at that time did
not have any). She`s now 58 and has had a hard life:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSKaqpJn6bo

POSITIV TV specializes in classic ``wholesome`` movies. Here`s the
skedgrid, probably available widely OTA if not on cable:
https://positiv.tv/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/POSITIV-NOVEMBER-1-30-21.pdf
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2113 confirmed on WA0RCR, 1860-AM,
MO, Sat Nov 20 at 2043-2112.5 UT, via nearby KB0FX remote.

Also confirmed UT Sun Nov 21 at 0030 on WRMIs, 5950 S9+44, 7730 S9+25
about one word behind from a different System playout.

Also confirmed UT Sun Nov 21 starting at 0459, on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO,
S9+10 into nearby remote.

Not confirmed Sun Nov 21 at 1358 on WMRI Europe via Channel 292,
Germany, 9670, the 1329 broadcast; only a JBA carrier direct as I
awaken just in time to check but no time to tune via computer. Did
anyone hear it? Next:

2100 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy
2330 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW
2330 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW
0130 UT Monday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0400vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW
2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?]
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 5010 to S

woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5050, Nov 21 at 0025 checking whether WWRB still be up here:
it is, and happen to catch Dave Frantz announcing his QSY plans as of
next Saturday: since some receivers won`t tune below 3200, trying 3360
instead from 9 pm EST = *0200 UT, duration probably variable for a
couple hours? Still on 3215 at 6-9 pm EST = *2300-0200* UT when WWCR
takes over 3215. Recently someone had an unID on 3360, possibly this
testing? Dave still doesn`t get it that he doesn`t need to change
frequency in mid-transmission to accommodate WWCR. For now, 5050 is
only S6-S7 with splash from 5040 Cuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (5085), UT Sun Nov 21 at 0051, WTWW-2 webcast starting
`Theatre Organ Under the Arch`, another George Wright tribute but the
music from an old recording is rather distorted unlike the new talk
commentary. That plus glut of other programming at 0100 makes me leave
it for `Encore` classical music on WRMI 5850, nor TRSW FRSH on WRMI
5950. Already back to rock at 0145 check so this week well under 59
minutes long (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130 kHz, Nov 21 at 0713 UT checking for open carrier KLEY
Wellington KS, yes, it`s still there making fast SAH with KWKH, but
also something in Spanish: partial non-ID only as ``La Mejor``, but
that`s enough to make it WLBA Gainesville GA, the 10 kW *daytimer*
previously caught here at night. Mexmx ensued (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6020, Nov 21 at 0714, JBA carrier, checking since Kari
Kallio, Finland had just reported R. Delta International, Netherlands
active at 0651, a low-power station I don`t really expect to hear
direct. At 0717 there is another JBA carrier beating against it. Per
EiBi the only other one now could be VOV-4 Vietnam, but it`s rather
early for it to propagate. Also in Aoki, plus 24h imaginary R.
Victoria, Peru (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
