Logs
** ANDORRA [non]. 6180, April 2 at 1832, VG S9+35/40 into UTwente,
monthly R. Andorra Revival show via AUSTRIA, as previewed by that guy
on WOR, and reminded now by Alan Roe. Classic jazz pieces and quite a
bit of conversation in French only, even applause; 1835 jazz piano.
1858 sounds like a national anthem, Andorra`s? Besides this did the
original station ever have any programming *about Andorra* itself?
Never caught any ID until right at 1859 closing, in Spanish, not
Catalan; and first four notes of AWR theme before chopped off air,
oops. I see that next from Moosbrunn at 1900 is AWR Hausa on 11955.

This reminds me to wonder, despite the huge SW language schedule of
AWR, how many e.g. Hausa, presumably Islamic, they are converting to
Infidels, this particular Christianish sect? Wikipedia says there are
only 21.8 mega-Adventists in the entire world of which 21.4 are of the
Seventh Day. They have a long way to go; e.g. there are 4X as many
Methodists, but split into many more subilx (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, April 2 at 1445-1450, no trace of LRA36
this Saturday into four Brasil, one Uruguay SDRs (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 6000, April 2 at 0216, RHC English is S9/+10 but suptorted,
0300 a little better but unlistenable. See also TURKEY [and non].

By 0557 direct I detect: 6000, S9+10/20 of dead air in English; 6060,
S9+10/20 with OK mod; 6100, S9+20/30; 6165 OFF. 6140 is S4/S5 with no
modulation audible, but probably a leapfrog of 6060 over 6100 another
40 kHz beyond. 5040 is still on but in Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** FINLAND. Scandinavian Weekend Radio is scheduled on almost-monthly
first-Saturday 24-hour broadcast until 2100 April 2. So I look for it
at 1940 via UTwente: Nothing audible on 5980 or 11690; 6170 has strong
VOA Kurdish via Biblis this hour; 11720 has a weak signal maybe this
when nothing else is scheduled per Aoki (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GREECE. 9420: Numerous monitors have been trying to hear VOG since
``reprieve`` until May 31 instead of closing as of March 31, but
without success. At 2210 April 2, UTwente is barely locking onto a
weak 9420 signal, probably CNR6 Amoy service; with huge splash from
tinkling HF Chinese music on 9410, i.e. the CRI ``Portuguese`` hour
via East Turkistan. No sign of Greece. As I said before, word may be
slow getting to Avlis site about the reprieve, so let`s hope they
haven`t destroyed anything yet. Not now on 9935 either and I find hard
to believe some blog about that, 1655 also an odd time of day for a
mass broadcast. Keep checking 9420: it used to be on early UT Sundays
for Orthodox mass, lovely music, around 0600/0700 then off for the
rest of Sunday until Monday evening (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ITALY [non]. 14580, Sat April 2 at 1821, checking IRRS, 24 hours
after WOR aired on Friday. Music on second harmonic from Kostinbrod,
Bulgaria at S5 with RTTY QRM on USB side only, soon // much stronger
7290, S9+10 with `The Country Jamboree`. Same JBA on MW 1323 under
German from Romania; all via UTwente (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 6165, April 2 at 0335, VOT English is just barely
detectable under RHC. Someone concerned about this urged me to notify
RHC. Well, that`s not my job, but I point out that VOT 6165 is not
aimed at us but the ME or S Asia.

7270, despite being an INTRUDER into the exclusive NAm hamband is in
fact for us, and even unto Bonaire is VG S9+10, with `Feeling Supreme`
theme at 0335 April 2. Hams avoid it. During the 03-04 Turkey hour,
RHC listeners have alternative of 6000, should it happen to be
decently modulated. See also CUBA [and non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, April 2 at 2230, VOT, S9+50! into UTwente with a
feature about biscuits [cookies?] in `Turkey`s Geo-marked[?]
Products`, 2241 `Turkish Cuisine`. Weak RTTY could be heard only after
it closed circa 2255 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, April 2 at 0500.8 to 0506.5, English `Ukraine:
Security Issue`` from UR1 via WRMI, back to Ukrainian. The opening
from 0500 included a timecheck including ``дватсет час`` = 20 hours,
as if that were the original airtime recorded = 17 UT rather than 00
UT, maybe a repeat already. Anyhow, U:SI is a very well-done summary
of the day`s events, with dramatic stingers, YL announcer and easy to
understand (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2132 monitoring: confirmed UT
Saturday April 2 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, S9+10/15 into Maryland SDR.

Also confirmed UT Saturday April 2 from *0412 on WBCQ 4789.979, joined
in progress after having been off the air for 22 minutes from 0350*
during FTIOM. Must have started playback on time at 0400, over at 0429
and sign-off 0430*. They might have waited until transmitter restored
as nothing would follow at 0430 anyway. I bet no one else kept
listening to noise on 4790 pending resumption of WOR. Meanwhile I was
timing the about 2-second-long uteblaaaps, sounding every 4:00 minutes
exactly, such as about 5 seconds past these minutes logged whether
WBCQ was on or not: 0415, 0443, 0447, etc. What and why??

Also confirmed Saturday April 2 at 1930 on WRMI 15770, S9+25/30 into
Maine SDR, S8/S9 into UTwente. Also started slightly earlier than 1930
on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, Wentzville MO, S9+8 into nearby Warrenton SDR.
ALSO at same time now on a third outlet, WRN North America webcast.

Also confirmed UT Sunday April 3 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, now aimed SW,
but only S7/S9, noisy and not solid into Brownsville SDR.

Also confirmed UT Sunday April 3 at 0130 on North American webcast of
WRN.

Did anyone confirm the new Unique Radio, Australia broadcast at 0700
UT Saturday on 5035 USB or 3210 USB, or webcast, or via remote? This
and the other one at 1000 Wednesday, and IRRS 9510 at 1030 Sunday are
during my sleep cycle, so would appreciate anyone awake checking.
Next:

0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0430]
1030 UT Sunday IRRS 9510-Romania to WNW [new]
1330 UT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670
2000 UT Sunday IRRS 1323-Italy
2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW [to be canceled?]
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW
0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW
0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW
2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?]
1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB [new]
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html

Thanks this week for financial support from Keith Konnerth, KC8YJW,
for a contribution via PayPal not necessarily in US$ to
woradio at yahoo.com and says, ``keep the Ukraine info coming.``

One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P
O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4789.979, UT Sat April 2 at 0200, WBCQ Radio Angela starting
tonight with repeat of `Polka Party` with Marion Webster & Kristina,
minus 21v Hz displayed by the SAM of Maryland SDR. And after 0300
repeat of `From the Isle of Music` --- but dumps off the air at 0350*
and not back until *0412 during WORLD OF RADIO, q.v. (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4980, April 2 at 0211 check, this WRMI is still OFF, and so
is its parasite on 4975. Ditto at 0328. Fortunately, #4 carried
nothing but TOMBS cult except for one hour of the SMTV cult. Maybe
TOMBS funding reduced for Q2? But still on skedgrid.

5985, April 2 at 0329 and later, no signal either from WRMI-2, still
on skedgrid as 0330-0430, longer on weekends. But NHK canceled its
Spanish at 0400-0430 at Marchend, so no longer worth running this at
all? Could be transmitter/antenna problem; all other signals are
nominal at 0330: 5800, 5850, 5950, 7570, 7730, 7780, 9395, 9455, 9955.
At 0335 recheck 5985 at Bonaire SDR: not even a trace like there was
last night during WOR, exciter only? No mention, inquiries or
explanations about these on disgraced FB of WRMI, but here is some
news:

``WRMI Radio Miami International
Yesterday [April 1] at 7:37 PM · [EDT?]

Colombia. Horario:
Jueves 8:00 pm Hora del Este (0000 UTC Viernes) en 9955 kHz
Sábado 0000 UTC en 7780 kHz``

So is it partly in English like its name?? And is the word Radio
pronounced as Spanish or English? Too late to hear it until next week
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9955, April 2 at 1435, no signal from this WRMI despite it
being Sabbath-service time at TOMBS. Possibly on, while propagation is
quite disturbed: 9395 & 9455 only JBA carriers. WWV reported:

``Solar-terrestrial indices for 01 April follow.
Solar flux 147 and estimated planetary A-index 17.
The estimated planetary K-index at 1500 UTC on 02 April was 2.

Space weather for the past 24 hours has been minor.
Geomagnetic storms reaching the G1 level occurred.
Solar radiation storms reaching the S1 level occurred.
Radio blackouts reaching the R1 level occurred.

Space weather for the next 24 hours is predicted to be moderate.
Solar radiation storms reaching the S1 level are expected.
Radio blackouts reaching the R2 level are likely.``

BTW, 10000 WWV at 2318 April 2 chopped off the prop info incomplete,
since like above it took over 45 seconds to read! And the WWVH
timechex at :45 must not be overridden (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 2097.3 CW, April 2 at 0600, single-letter beacon A every
10 seconds, quite audible despite storm and line noise. For the record
still active, and also several times recently I did not bother to log.
From anywhere but Quartzsite, Arizona (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 0149 UT April 3
