![Logs](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/logs.gif) ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, Dec 8 at 1433, 1502, 1602 chex, NO signal from LRA36 into Brasil SDR this Wed, despite surprise showup Sat Dec 4 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CANADA [and non]. LW propagation is good from Canada, Dec 8 at 0737-0745 UT, but local high noise level blox above 350 kHz, even 515 PN Ponca City OK, normally the strongest, becoming JBA. Perhaps those damn Xmas lites across the street which will probably be blazing for another month. But below 350 these are well copiable: 346 MCW kHz, Dec 8 at 0738 UT, dash and YXL, 500 watt ND beacon from Sioux Lookout, Ontario 335 MCW kHz, Dec 8 at 0738 UT, dash and YLD, 1000 watt NDB at Chapleau, Ontario 332 MCW kHz, Dec 8 at 0739 UT, dash and QT, 1000 watt NDB at Thunder Bay, Ontario; as usual well atop nearby IC Wichita KS, 400 watts 300 MCW kHz, Dec 8 at 0740 UT, dash and YIV, 500 watt NDB at Island Lake, Manitoba; seldom heard this one straddling LW and MW 284 MCW kHz, Dec 8 at 0742 UT, dash and QD, 500 watt NDB at The Pas, Manitoba 258 MCW kHz, Dec 8 at 0744 UT, dash and ZSJ, 1000 watt NDB at Sandy Lake, Ontario; only one on 258 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9700, Dec 8 at 0745, S9+30 of dead air, obviously RHC English where something`s always wrong. [non] 9330, Dec 8 at 0746, no signal from Cuban Spy Numbers despite scheduling on Wednesdays this bihour, clear for WLCR/WBCQ S9+10. Obviously spy would be blasting if active as RHC 9700 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 9690, Wed Dec 8 at 2300, token English from REE, VG into Maryland SDR. Justin Coe says after news, feature will be interview with Steven Knight, keyboardist of a new Trans-Baroque group in Madrid; then Justin mispronounces Omicron as ``omnicron`` -- this happens a lot tho there is no such word. BTW, the first o is ``short``, not ``long``; that is why Greek has a separate Omega, which is long. Interview is by Gil Carbajal: does that mean a dredge from the archive or is he currently there? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [non]. 5960, Dec 8 at 2259, poor signal of BBCWS ID and off* as I am tuning in UTwente for a Turkey check, which never shows today. BBC sked 22-23 UT only via OMAN. By 2307 I`ve checked all 5 TRT frequencies supposed to quit at 2130 or 2200: not there either, 5970, 5980, 6120, 9610, 9625. The trouble is, nothing scheduled at 22-23, so sleepyrator(s) in deep REM don`t wake up before 2300. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. From *2310, Chinese owns 5960 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2115 monitoring: Richard Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, From the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees, reports: ``Dear Glenn: World of Radio #2115, confirmed, below with details, B 21 season, Keep Christ in Christmas, Year is winding down closing out 2021, Happy New Year 2022, Details: 5950, jamming noise, 2344 half way mark, 2342, 2351 (45433), (55433), 2359, Dec 3 UT 2021 [Fri] 5950, jamming, Utility radar, 0030, 0059 (55434), (55433), 0059, Dec 5 UT 2021 [Sun] 5950, QRN, also on 9955 kHz, 5950, 2330, 2344, 2359, 2359, 5950, Dec 5 UT 2021 [Sun] 9955, QSB fading, 2330, 2344 (55433), 2357, Dec 7 UT 2021 [Tue] 5850, 1030, 1044, 1059 (55433-4), 1059, Dec 8 UT 2021 [Wed] (Lemke, Richard -AB)`` Also confirmed here Wed Dec 8 at 1053 the 1030 on WRMI 5850, VG. Also confirmed Wed Dec 8 at 2200 on WBCQ 7490v, JBA on portable. Next: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html New WOR 2116 should be ready by early UT Fri Dec 10 for first airings at 0130 on WRMIs 5850, 7780 Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. Thanks this week to Doug Brown, London, Ontario for a generous US$ cheque on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 and comments, ``Thanks for another year of great information and DX tips.``One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0019 UT December 9 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Glenn Hauser logs December 7-8, 2021 |

Wednesday, December 08 2021
![Logs](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/logs.gif) ** EGYPT. 9899.58v, Dec 7 at 2106, no signal from R. Cairo into UTwente, again today like yesterday. Tho English starts at 2115, it`s normally been on air by 2100 if active. I don`t check again later, but Richard Langley, NB, reports, ``Just a weakish carrier today (7 December) on 9899.6 ± kHz when checked using the U. Twente SDR at about 2145 UT with no detectable modulation. Glenn: AMSync does lock in if you key in 9899.6 kHz rather than 9900 kHz -- Richard Langley`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ETHIOPIA [and non]. 15155-15160-15165, Dec 7 at 1527, DRM-like noise, but nonesuch scheduled; QRM from an AM understation JBA. Or vice versa! That`s Dimtse Woyane, 15-16 via FRANCE in TIGrinya, one of the clandestines which did not make it into last year`s WRTH 2021 with only two others under Ethiopia, and two under Eritrea. There should be a lot more in the 2022. I first noticed the edge of this on 15170 checking for Kashmir non. The `DRM` is obviously jamming by Ethiopia. Via Carlow, Eire, SDR I try 15160 in DRM. Nothing decodes. 15160 direct at 1554 bears some weak music with not much jamming. It`s questionable how effective this Djamming could be in Ethiopia, if transmitted from there, due to skip zone. Could this be contracted out to some other country at a favorable one-hop skip distance? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KASHMIR [non]. 15170, Tue Dec 7 at 1525, just in case I am checking whether Kashmir Civitas be still on air after two weeks absence since last heard Nov 9 after 1600. Had been one real UT hour earlier at 1500, while Europe was on DST, nonsensically changed to 1600 UT in November. No, it`s not, checked via UTwente; and not at 1607 recheck either. However found something interesting nearby, see ETHIOPIA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [and non]. 5960, Dec 7 at 2304, NO signal from VOT English into UTwente; something`s always erroneous at Emirler. But before I tune out, it chops ON S9+10 at *2307 during Turkish music, then chop to proper feed in English during news. Soon press review and 2312 the COVID-19 PSA. None earlier but now I also hear an understation, CCCCCCI = ChiCom Chinese language co-channel interference. In fact, EiBi shows that PBS Xinjiang, Urumqi, East Turkistan, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uyghurs and other Moslems, does start at the odd time of *2310 on 5960. After music break, another feature starts at 2318, something about science fixion novels, but by the YL announcer with very heavy accent, and I give up trying to follow her. Sorry, but you need better language skills to be an international broadcaster. When 2300 English be missing from 5960, check previously scheduled frequencies for a transmitter overrun, which the sloppyrators accomplish all too frequently at other times. HFCC shows supposed to stop by 2130 are 9610, 9625 and 5970; until 2200 on 5980, 6120. But wait, there`s more: rechecking 5960 at UTwente, Dec 8 at 0005, just Chinese but VOT chops back on in German! The bonus broadcast following English, which is not supposed to be on SW at all. It`s S9+20 and +16 Hz offset. 0014 still going with Türkisch musik, surged to S9+45! 0015 pronouncing the TRTWorld website, and a feature for Reisenden. Not closely monitored but I think German lasted most of the hour; only Chinese by 0105. Of course, if extra German ever happen on UT Sunday it will collide with The Mighty KBC, which must enjoy taking such risks, B-season after season (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2115 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday December 7 at 2330 on WRMI 9955, VG S9+10/15 into KB0FX SDR in MO and no jamming audible; but by 0003 Dec 8 has faded completely out, probably earlier, leaving only some weak jamming to be heard. 9395 WRMI has also vanished by now. Next: 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. Thanks this week to Doug Brown, London, Ontario for a generous US$ cheque on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 and comments, ``Thanks for another year of great information and DX tips.``One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0140 UT December 8 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
