SWL/DX/MEDIA PROGRAMS
Now fully updated for B-19 and non-DST seasons: http://www.worldofradio.com/dxpgms.html ** ALBANIA [non]. 15770, Fri Nov 8 at 2030, WRMI with world music fill, still no Radio Tirana relay; it`s Greekish, close enough? 9395, UT Sat Nov 9 at 0230, JBA music too, maybe Greekish and no RT. I neglected to mention the expected frequency for this in last report (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA [and non]. 7335, 7355, 7365, 7375, 6125, Nov 9 at 0657, all with varying degrees of jamming against nothing, as now Radio Martí is only on 7435 way atop jamming, 6030 & 5980? under jamming. Something`s always wrong at the DentroCuban Jamming Command, wasting its own resources and causing untold harm to innocent bystations, who had better avoid any frequency used anywhen by RM (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) See also USA:WOR:WRMI ** CUBA. Correxion: I wrote that ``6165 continues`` while I meant to say 6100 continues, after 6165 quits; fixed: 6165, Nov 8 at 0750 tune-in, just in time to hear modulation cut off to dead air at S9+10; but 6100 continues S9+20/30 into `From the Bookshelf`. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 6165, 6100, 6000, Nov 9 at 0702, all three RHC English are still on with good modulation, but unlikely all will last another full hour. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 15700, Nov 9 at 1603, S9+20 of dead air, no hurry to turn off after 1400-1600 CRI English relay, yet unknown how well modulated today. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 15230, Nov 9 at 1605, RHC Spanish still on here, S9/+10, unknown for how much longer but better than // 15140 only S9 and undermodulated. Both 13s are off, but 11760 is also still on at S9+10. Something`s always wrong? at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTTENING DIGEST) ** MEXICO. 1090, Nov 9 at 0553 UT, I finally tune in before local midnight, Spanish with KAAY from right angle easily nulled, making a slow SAH of exactly 1.0 Hz, advice on how to accomplish e-commerce; 0556 into choral multi-verse NA; 0600 a quick ID which dammit I cannot copy, but seems to mention FM, presumably linked to this XEAU Monterrey; mentions milenio.com, and into infomercial for lentes de leer (reading glasses). Now there is a UK TA het QRMing from 1089, which I can`t null as long as I do null KAAY. IRCA Mexican log says of XEAU: ``5000/500 watts, FM Tu 103.7 [Zona Urbana], 1200-0600 REG ORO //XHFMTU 103.7FM. Moved to FM? (Web stream ID is FM only, but AM is still included in 6/19 IFT list)`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6929-USB, Nov 8 at 2305, S6-S8, finally a pirate heard after not any since Oct 22; just in time for the FRW deadline: novelty tune, 2306 DJ announcement, hard to understand, drunk? something about a ``continuing problem, RF in there``, apologizes for poor quality. Lots of background noise while talking, but the music was OK. 2312 fades down markedly to S3-S4, music JBA; still at 2329 recheck, music S5-S6. These say it was Argyle Radio; all reports from the north/east, even England, but I doubt this was out of Scotland: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,60026.0.html (During this semihour one might instead have been listening to the first airing of WORLD OF RADIO 2007 on WRMI 9955; started out heavily jammed, but then it quit and WRMI faded up.) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** ROMANIA. 6170-6175-6180, Nov 9 at 0700, DRM noise, which at 0700-0730 only is RRI in German, 90 kW, 307 degrees from Ziganeschti; coincidentally? 6175 is also in DRM later testing? from RFI FRANCE at 0900-1200 per HFCC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2007 monitoring: confirmed first SWBC, Friday Nov 8 at 2300 on WRMI 9955; tune-in at 2258 to hear wall-of-noise jamming over WRMI! The Cuban jammers have not observed the EST switch of gusano programming like everything else on 9955 to one real hour later. The main time they *need* to jam it is now 0015-0100 UT Tue-Sat against Noticiero and Radio Libertad! However, S/N ratio soon improves as WRMI fades up a bit just as I am talking about RHC -- tnx a lot! By 2312 recheck, WRMI is S9+20 and the jamming is off, amazing, as if they realized their mistake. WOR remains VG complete to 2329 and not cut off making my ``standard disclaimer`` twice redundant. Also confirmed UT Saturday November 9 at 0140 the 0130 on WRMIs 5850 VG >> weak 5010, but JBA carrier here on 7780. At 0150 I check UTwente SDR where 7780 is still arriving well! As usual, I sleep/forget past 1330 for the secret new 1300 Saturday WOR airing on WRMI 15770, which would probably be JBA here; hope someone can reconfirm it. Hamburger Lokalradio has been off due to serious illness of Michael Kittner, but it could come back without notice, so need to keep checking. Sat Nov 9 before 1600, UTwente is not getting it on 9485-CUSB, but usually did not get it anyway when really operational. Can`t get a connexion to the OH5AE SDR. Next: 1900vUT Saturday IRRS 7290 Romania to WNW, fragment?? 2030vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 0400vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0415] 1130 UT Sunday HLR 7265-CUSB Germany to WSW ? 1945vUT Sunday IRRS 7290 Romania to WNW, fragment?? 2130 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to NE 0130 UT Monday WRMI 9395 to NNW 7780 to NE 0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE 0400vUT Monday WBCQ 5130v Area 51 6160v? to WSW 0430 UT Monday WRMI 9955 to SSE 1859vUT Monday IRRS 7290 Romania to WNW 0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. (7490), UT Sat Nov 9 I don`t remember to check AAAWWW until about 0153 UT on WBCQ webcast, now outgoing a real hour later by EST, 0100+ UT, when music is playing so I know immediately that A&A must be away again. Yes, soon hear the tones of TimTron with his *very* different style of programming; reminiscing about the good ole days, and soon joined by Jason. They mention that one other frequency is on now experimentally, 6160, reports wanted, and he will leave it on a few minutes more, but only a few due to electrical expenses in Maine. I quickly check it at 0202, but all I get is a JBA carrier on 6161, suspect something else like a local birdie. Fortunately, John Carver heard the whole thing this week: ``Tonight's AAWWW --- Program started on time this evening on 7490 although a very poor signal. I checked 7490 a couple of hours earlier and it was a much better signal. TimTron is hosting. Goes into music immediately as he says nothing is right in the studio and he has to fix it. When the music ends Jason slips into the studio to cohost with Tim. Tim announced that they were also on 6160 and I immediately tune there. Much better signal. Then Tim talks about the work he did on the 6160 transmitter. Jason mentions that the 7490 transmitter had gone down today for a bit so Tim talks about getting that back on the air and how he hopes it keeps going till after he leaves for home. He also mentioned that the superstation transmitter was down again and that Allan had insisted on Tim going to the station to get it going. Tim was upset as he wasn't finished winterizing his home and he wanted to go back and work on it instead. Said that when he got home he'd have to chip ice off of things to work on them. He also said it had snowed today at the station. More clips and music and then Tim talking about his introduction to and experience with computers. He mentioned that the transmitter problem with the superstation will require a man from the transmitter company [Continental] and him to tear it all apart and he's upset about that as it's still under warranty. He's waiting there for the other guy to show up and says the guy should be there sometime this next week. Some more bits and music from Michael Ketter. Program was off the air at 0159. John Mid-North Indiana`` Note that Tim`s home is far away in Skowhegan, central Maine, 140 air miles away, 183 driving miles from Monticello. He also mentioned that he used to bunk-in Monticello for a week or more at a time. As for the superstation, at end of WOR 2007 I cite the latest imaginary 24-hour schedule for it, all on 9330 with times, languages, azimuths, targets, powers -- some halved to only 250 kW (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 6060, Nov 8 at 2303, WRMI with SMTV, and no RHC; will they dare to turn 6060 back on as long as WRMI be there? Not checked later until -0200 WRMI/RAE span (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 5830, Nov 9 at 0453, WTWW-1 is on, S9+10/20 undermodulated SFAW, weaker than neighbor 5935 WWCR PMS at +20/30. Dave Kenny points out that the WTWW website now displays a much-abbreviated schedule: 8 pm-12 am Central on 5830 (= 0200-0600 UT), and only three hours a week on 9475: Sunday 9 am-12 pm Central (=1500-1800 UT, i.e., church-goin` hours; to be confirmed?) That would explain why we never hear 9475 anymore nor 5830 earlier or later (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 7505, Nov 9 at 0459-0500+, WRNO active with gospel huxtress in English, S9/+20, a bit past 0500 but probably about to cut off the 0200-0500 remaining broadcast with no more Chinese (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 17775, Sat Nov 9 at 1601, KVOH is S9+10/20, the SSOB by far and would be the OSOB if not for 17830 JBA carrier from Ascension. Suspect an HF sporadic E boost. Should have checked right away, but at 1830 the DXMap does show a lot of HF Es altho mostly over eastern USA. 1601:15 opening `Wavescan` edition #559 for Nov 10 but gets a headstart on its sole KVOH airing. There are 28 more each week, mostly on WRMI per new DX/SWL/Media Programs (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 12160, Sat Nov 9 at 1609, WWCR with old lo-fi music ending with a wow; could it be Talking Machine Show? That`s not until two hours later. Not solid signal, not getting any sporadic E help over this path. Soon gospel huxter starts talking off-mike and can`t copy details, but he spends a lot of time listing numerous affiliates, such as 1000 and 1240 in Kentucky, KXEL 1540, at one-hour times mostly on Sundays, and finally WWCR at 10 am Saturdays on 12.160, and two other times which strike me as incorrect. Own churches are in Philadelphia, Washington DC and western Kentucky. Finally at 1614 mentions full name of ministry, ``Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of Apostolic Faith, Inc.`` matching that in WWCR schedule, and introducing another speaker, some late bishop who starts off singing (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 1210, Nov 9 at 0705 UT, ad for texting RANK to some number, and another ad for something in northern Michigan, Petoskey. So it`s certainly 50-kW ND daytimer cheating again, WJNL, Kingsley near Traverse City. I`ve often checked for this but there has been too much KGYN even nulled. Now I`m not even trying to do that, on the east-west longwire which should favor KGYN. Its own adherence to legally nulling toward Philadelphia at night is questionable, but maybe now they really are (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) This report dispatched at 2050 UT November 9

Glenn Hauser logs November 6-7-8, 2019 |
|
Friday, November 08 2019
** ALBANIA [non]. 15770, Nov 6 at 2030, WRMI goes right into the polka from World Music reel, filling instead of Radio Tirana as now scheduled M-F during this semihour. Also music instead of RT for the other transmission, UT Thu Nov 7 at 0230. Peter Hanson in FL also has been hearing music instead of RT previous nights. Again Nov 7 at 2047 check of 15770, world music fill, not RT. I have notified WRMI about this problem, so hope it will be fixed soon (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** ALGERIA [non]. 6060, Nov 8 at 0529, JBA Qur`an from RTA which is now here at 04-06 via FRANCE to the Algerian Outback; and weaker // 6105 at 05-07. This 6060 will of course QRM Habana if and when it resume across and beyond this same span --- will RTA ever get one or both of their own new SW sites going?? HFCC B-19 continues to include imaginary registrations for separate frequencies via ORG and BEC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** ARGENTINA [non]. 9395, Nov 6 at 2202, RAE in Italian, good via WRMI, aimed NNW rather than toward Italy. About 6060: see USA: WRMI! (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CANADA [and non]. 326 kHz, Nov 8 at 0802, dash and YQK, which is 200 watts from Kenora, Ontario. Also on same frequency, different pitch, MA, 400 watts from Midland, Texas (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CANADA. 7850-CUSB, Nov 8 at 1438, still no CHU. Richard Langley, NB, replies to my previous reports of Nov 5-6: ``From: National Research Council Canada System status https://nrc.canada.ca/en/chu-short-wave-station/ 3.330 MHz: online 7.850 MHz: offline since [2019-10-28 at 17:00 UTC] 14.670 MHz: online I'll try to find out why. I personally found them missing on 2 November when setting up to record WRMI. I try to start each recording with a time signal from CHU or WWV as the recorder I typically use does not time stamp the files. [later:] From the NRC officer in charge of the transmitters: "I have had a series of problems with both the main and backup 7850 kHz transmitters and now possibly with the antenna system. Due to other commitments and bad weather that signal is still off the air. "I will probably not get it back up this week, I am hoping for early next week." -- Richard Langley`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2007, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CHINA. 7435, Nov 8 at 1440, song at S9, first wondering if it could be R. Martí, but not // 13820 music, and RM finishes 7435 at 1400. Instead it`s CRI in Russian at 1400-1500, 500 kW, 37 degrees from SZG site toward DVR but also USward (and co-channel 7435 in Nepali, 500 kW at 283 degrees from Kunming, not audible here) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CHINA [non]. 6180, Nov 7 at 0051 no CRI relay signal yet nor on 9580, but at 0101, 6180 via CUBA is S9 yet JBM in CRI English; much weaker than 6020 via ALBANIA, which during this hour is still listed also on 9570. 6180 CRI English is scheduled to overlap with Kashgar, East Turkistan site for S Asia, which could cause at least an echo. RNA Brasil should beware of occasionally coming up on 6180 instead of 11780. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2007, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 15140, Nov 6 at 2027, RHC English S9/+10 but distorted and splattering; unlike previous days, 15370 is not also in English, instead now multi-lingual IDs as if signing on, 2029 Spanish intro of Arabic ``por FM e internet`` (only), and indeed into Arabic. Something`s always wrong at RHC. We are within two sesquiweeks of confusion since B-19 began for everyone else, then the unDST shift, and Arnie says his new sked won`t be in full effect until Nov 18 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 7380, Nov 6 at 2204, no signal from RHC English to Africa, previously confirmed as having switched to an hour earlier on same frequency; just as well, due to ACI from Radio Martí now on 7375 this hour only. Any jamming of that could also bleed over into RHC, tsk2. The ultimate B-19 schedule shows this transmission to be on 11880. But next day Nov 7 at 2117, 7380 is back in Arabic, 2200 English into voice-over translation of a speech in Spanish, but sometimes ahead of it, must be from script. ACI from 7375 RM cuts on at *2200.5. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2007, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 6000, Nov 7 at 0100, RHC English is JBM and suptorted, S9; 6165 has even less modulation but more signal, S9+10. So English still exists during this hour altho the ultimate B-19 sked via Wolfgang Bueschel shows both not starting until 0200 and then running until 0800; joined at 0500-0700 by 6060 and 6100; at 0600-0700 by 5040 where English has also shifted to 0000-0100. As of Nov 7 at 0711, 6000 is JBM, 6100 still on and VG, 6165 undermodulated. 6165, Nov 8 at 0750 tune-in, just in time to hear modulation cut off to dead air at S9+10; but 6165 continues S9+20/30 into `From the Bookshelf`. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 5980, 6125, 7375, Nov 8 at 0531, jamming against nothing: 5980 wall of noise, no RM until 0600; lighter pulse jamming on the others: 6125 RM finished at 0400; 7375 RM uses only at 22-23. Something`s always wrong at the DCJC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** EAST TURKISTAN. 11880, Nov 7 at 1412, CRI English at S3-S7 is still here and one second ahead of the CUBA relay moved to 15700, S9+30. Now 11880 site is Kashgar, land of Uighur brainwashing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2007, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** EGYPT [and non]. 9900, Nov 6 at 2227, JBA carrier with flutter. Could it be Cairo? Trying to tell whether the sole (?) surviving English sesquihour from 2115 really exist; registered as 125 kW, 325 degrees from Abis to W Europe but consequently USward. So would end at 2245. But could already be 500 kW from CNR DOF site in China at 2230-0030; and at 2328 recheck the 9900 is VP fluttering in Chinese. I do find a long-delayed but just published log in Nov NZ DX Times: ``9900 2230 EGYPT R Cairo very weak in EE; CHINA, CNR1 fair in CC jamming [sic] R Cairo, 13/9 (Ken Baird, Wainuiomata ** Using the League’s Northland SDR)`` Only a few services are allegedly extant in B-19: http://hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B19&broadc=ERU What about Latin American services? Scheduled: 2215-2330 9545 Portuguese, 2330-0045 Arabic 9620, 0045-0200 Spanish 9875??? 9545 not checked yet, but at 0032 no 9620, at 0051 no 9875 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** JAPAN [and non]. 9800, Nov 8 at 0744, S9-S7 of rock music, 0745 Japanese announcement, traditional music, then `Autumn Leaves`; not much else on band except two WRMI TOMBS, 9395 & 9455 and two other Cuban jammers against nothing on 9565, 9955. NHK now runs here at 0700-0900, 300 kW, 85 degrees from Yamata to CIRAF 14 & 16, i.e. Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, still in the middle of their nights before 5 or 6 am local. Or are they really aiming at Hawaii before 11 pm there? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** KOREA SOUTH. 3475, Nov 7 at 1359, JBA carrier and not on 3480 or 3485; today`s frequency for Voice of the People. Only 3475 is shown in the latest Aoki/NDXC. No check for the rest of the jumparounds today (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** OKLAHOMA [non]. 341 kHz, Nov 8 at 0803 UT, no signal from Enid`s only beacon, EI; just OIN from Oberlin KS. Of course hardly any flights would need it at this hour of our minor regional Woodring airport. Still no EI at 1955 UT daytime Nov 8 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** SAUDI ARABIA. 17615+ and 17705, Nov 8 at 1356, SRI with separate programming but not on 17895; usually 17705 is the odd one off. Only significant signals on band (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** SPAIN. On the noticiasdx yg José Bueno notifies that REE has resumed its Spanish DX program, `Amigos de la Onda Corta` hosted by Antonio Buitrago, with details of the ``Programa del 31 de Octubre 2019, Sábados a las 14.00 horas. Jueves a las 18.30 (rep.)`` For PROGRAMAS we are linked from REE`s website to: http://www.rtve.es/radio/programas/ which is an exhaustive alfabetical roster of all? RTVE programs on all networks including this one: http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/audios/amigos-de-la-onda-corta/ with archive of 301 podcasts showing that it stopped in Nov 2014, did one more in April 2017, and has just resumed with two new 2019 editions, the newer one dated Nov 7 about the World Radio Conference, in Egypt. Durations vary widely, this one 46:30, last week`s 29:45. The older ones just under 50 minutes, some 55. Must make it hard to fit into SW schedules, but primarily as podcasts, duration does not matter. Antonio Buitrago was presenting AdlOC until he got top job to head revived REE. Glad he has found time to resume it. But when? REE is NOT on the SW air at 1400 UT! Or is that HNE? In that case UT would be 1300, even earlier during dark period. Maybe 1400 was the UT during summer time, so now one hour later at 1500 UT, just as transmission starts? And Thursday at 1730, 1830 or 1930 UT?? Then I find this more explicit header: ``Amigos de la onda corta Jueves a las 18.30 y 23.00 UTC. Sábados a las 14.05 UTC`` [as if first airing imminent, and Sat be the repeat; but again, are these summer timings really an hour later now?] Then I find a current Nov 7 running program schedule, showing no such program at 17:30, 18:30, 19:30, or any other Thursday time! I try to find an REE listen-live link, but keep getting shunted to their podcasts. Of course I can listen to the show that way, but why not on SW or its own stream, of all programs? Our Hitlist has a live audio link http://radiolive-mp3-rtve.flumotion.com/rtve/radioexterior.mp3.m3u but it does not work! I have to turn on a radio and try to hear the North American frequency 9690 --- no reception. Instead the ME frequency 12030 works, poorly, but at 1831 UT some show about the European economy, not AdlOC. Never mind? (Glenn Hauser, Nov 7, WOR iog via DX LISTENING DIGEST) Alan Roe, compiler of the Hitlist, replies: ``Hi Glenn, The "REE live (alt)" link in the Hitlist, i.e. http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/live_radio_PopUp/?id=&v=0.75&vp=&lang=es is working or alternatively http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/live_radio_PopUp/ also seems to work. It looks like the other link may have been discontinued - I'll recheck in time for the next Hitlist update. And have just found this link which seems to work OK: http://www.rtve.es/radio/radio5-endirecto/ Alan Roe, Teddington, UK`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** TURKEY [and non]. 15350.007, Nov 8 at 1350, TRT good with nice Turkish music only slightly off-frequency; 1352 switch to IS prior to closing. It`s the OSOB and SSOB from Hemisphere East --- is no one else trying? Elsewhere on 19m, just Cuba and Miami. 11815.024, Nov 8 at 1401, TRT with Turkish news S7-S9, slightly more off-frequency than predecessor 15350.007; hardly any NHK CCI, but a SAH from there during 1433 music. 11540, Nov 8 at 1400, the Kurdo-Turco radio war continues it seems without so much jumping around (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 521-MCW kHz, Nov 7 at 0720, NDBeacon ORC, 25 watts from Orange City, Iowa. Yes, a few beacons still exist on this band just below AMBC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 13565-CW, Nov 7 at 1410, K6FRC beacon in CA is JBA, remaining the only one I ever hear on the 13550-13570 ISM HIFER band (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2006 monitoring: confirmed Wed Nov 6 starting at 2200:20 on WBCQ 7490.06v, S8-S9 but noisy. Running late as usual but no problem as nothing cut. Meanwhile, the former simulcast on WRMI 9955 remains occupied by RFPI shifted one UT hour later, along with some pulse jamming. Except there are NO frequencies for this hour. Just in case with a new season, I check 7780 again, Thu Nov 7 at 2100 when WOR has been imagined, and indeed it`s really airing VORW as correctly shown on the System F grid (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A [and non]. 6060, Nov 6 at 2201, WRMI is on, S6-S9 with music from SMTV as now scheduled from 2100, ex-5800 which is off, ex-4980. 6060 was chosen in tribute to the legacy frequency of RAE for WRMI`s relay in Spanish also retimed to 0100, but again Nov 7 at that hour, no RAE but music fill; and poor vs storm noise around here; 0138 recheck it`s rock music. At least RHC remains absent from 6060. Oh2, Nov 7 at 2356 check of 6060, NOW RHC has come back in Spanish! mixing with music which must be WRMI`s SMTV; and RHC // 11760 without the music. So now there is a Miami/Habana collision, and Arnie`s ultimate B-19 sked does show 6060 resumed all the way from 00 to 07 UT. I don`t check again until 0111 Nov 8, when by now RHC has gone away, and WRMI is finally correctly airing RAE Argentina al Mundo in Spanish on its legacy frequency, fair S7-S9+10 and a bit undermodulated. So it remains to be heard how all this will shake out (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2007, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 5890, Nov 7 at 0713, WWCR is on again broadcasting nothing but dead air at S9+20; the others modulate: 5935 PMS at S9+20/30; 4840 & 3215 TOMBS (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 1160, Nov 7 at 1401 UT, ``AM 1160 The Hope``, church info for Naperville, soon losing to Spanish presumably Kansas City. WYLL Chicago, U4 50/50 kW but seldom heard here and never well since day pattern is circular tangent to SE, and night pattern tight to the north (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 1580, re my log of KQFN Tempe AZ, Rick Barton, AZ, replies: ``Hi Glenn, the KQFN story is about as confusing as it gets. KMIK did transmit from Tempe/Mesa, but the rumor was, when KQFN came on, they moved the transmissions from there to a site in SW Phoenix. I drove to the site and confirmed it. The station is transmitting from a single tower located just a cupla blocks south of 38th avenue and Indian School Rd. The nearest address I could give you would be 3883 N. 38 Ave., Phoenix. The signal really loaded up my car radio at that location. The tower can easily be seen from nearby Grand Avenue, just to the east. regards from the southwest - rb`` (Glenn Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST) UNIDENTIFIED. 15022-LSB, November 8 at 1455, 2-way in colloquial Spanish long contacts discussing women, full of puta-madres and even coño. Which reminds me, we *never* hear any feminine voices on these Spanish 2-ways; where are they? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) This report despatched at 1957 UT November 8

Wednesday, November 06 2019
** ALASKA. 11670, Nov 6 at 1358, S1-S2 JBA announcement in Chinese; 1359 dead air, 1400 barely recognizable KNLS IS, confirming it`s really here for the English hour aimed westward, via backward leakage (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** ALBANIA [non]. 15770, Nov 5 at 2030, WRMI with fill music, NOT Radio Tirana which appeared on the WRMI skedgrid a few weeks ago, but the first time I have checked for it. Still music at 2043; 2100 switch to non-BS gospel huxter but must be TOM as now scheduled, finally BS` own voice at 2106. During this hour both 9395 and 9455 emit separate programmings. I wonder if RT has ever shown up here, M-F 2030 on 15770, since with every seasonal change, now a dekaday ago, there`s a misconnect in the indirect acquisition of RT files via Germany, as the original timing non-DST and/or URL must have changed unbeknownst to the automation. I now suspect the other RT relay slot, nominally shifted to 0230 UT on 9395, has also failed. This deal was not initiated by Radio Tirana, and they take no trouble to maintain it altho tolerate it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** ARGENTINA [non]. 6060, Nov 6 at 0004, new WRMI-3 frequency VP S7-S8 with flutter during SMTV, but RAE Spanish relay scheduled for 0100 is AWOL again, altho not checked until 0153 when Christian hymns are playing, ``Holy3``, and ``Rejoice`` cut off for 0200*. I suspect that unlike Albania, RAE is still sending files, but not being configured correctly to show up on this system at this time on this frequency. BTW the skedgrid still shows WRMI-3 on 5800 in the 2100-2400 period before changing to 6060, but I think 6060 is already on earlier (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CANADA. 7850-CUSB, Nov 5 at 2105, NO signal from CHU, but VG on 14670-CUSB. The middle frequency is normally audible day and into the night vs MUF plunges. 3330-CUSB is audible at 0708 Nov 6, but again not on 7850. Also Nov 6 at 1427, 14670 but no 7850. Happy anniversary! Mike Cooper forwards this: /R E P E A T -- Time flies! 80th anniversary of the National Research Council of Canada time signal/ --- News provided by National Research Council Canada Nov 05, 2019, 13:00 ET https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/-r-e-p-e-a-t-time-flies-80th-anniversary-of-the-national-research-council-of-canada-time-signal--847894922.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CANADA. 15034-USB, Nov 6 at 1351, Trenton Military, CHR still clocking 61 minutes slow as ``1250 zulu``, after no-reports-received from Ontario APs, but succeeds with a ``special report from Calgary`` as of 1300, which is not really from the future (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 15370, Nov 5 at 1959, RHC ID in Spanish and introducing English from 2000; 15140 is not on! But at 2028 recheck, 15370 is S9+10 of dead air, and 15140 *is* on now in English amid `DXers Unlimited, this being ``mit-week`` Tuesday. Talking about ham radio activities during Hurricane Harvey, Houston --- old show or reminiscing? Then advocating pre-sunrise grayline DXing; 2030 outro DXUL already. NOW at 2030, 15370 has started just barely modulating in Brazuguese, whilst previous days, JM Aubier in France had been hearing it in English. 2150 recheck, 15370 is again in Brazuguese, while by now 15140 is off. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 6165, Nov 6 at 0153, no signal from RHC, which was expected in English from 0100; but 6000 is running tho VP S9+10 undermodulated as the only chance to hear it in primetime. By 0200, 6165 is now on along with 6000. This night at 0705 check, 6165 is VG in English, while 6100 and 6000 are off. You never know what combo will be active especially after 0500. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 15370, Nov 6 at 1352, RHC is *not* on here this morning, unlike yesterday, rather usual 15140, S9 but undermodulated JBA, better on 15230. At 1545, still no 15370, but 15230, 15140, 13700. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** INDIA. 9690, Nov 6 at 1416, choral music, S5-S7 with flutter, 1417 ID as General Overseas Service of All India Radio, plugging its brand new website also offering streaming, URL repeated multiply, http://airworldservice.org No signal on onetime // 11620 for the 1330 sesquihour, altho 11560 Afghan service is audible as usual. 9690 is reactivated for B-19, good for us as long as Spain is not starting here until 1500. 9865 music from Vividh Bharati service is slightly better S6-S8 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** JAPAN [non]. 6155, Nov 6 at 0459, NHK IS, timepips a few seconds late, opening English from NHK World Radio Japan, a weak S9 about the same as 7410. Previous log had wrong info about the three frequencies for this, lacking 6155 which is 300 kW ND from AUSTRIA as now shown on HFCC and also from NHK`s own pdf schedule. 7410 is 500 kW, 155 degrees from FRANCE; and inaudible on 9860, 250 kW, 184 degrees from Vatican. So the lower two remain our best chance to hear RJ in English. If Japanese will do, there`s still 6105 at 0200-0400, 500 kW, 290 degrees from FRANCE targeting CIRAF 10 & 11 = Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, shunning USA but close enough. 6155, Nov 6 at 0702, weak German as AUSTRIA also runs the only SWBC of its own on same frequency as NHK a bihour before, still 300 kW ND at 0600-0720 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** KURDISTAN [non]. How`s the Kurdo-Turco radio war going today? Nov 6 at 1357, only active is 11540 with both Dengê Welat and Jammiler clashing about equally approx. 6 Hz apart making heavy SAH; 1401 drumming and chanting. Seems like in no hurry to play mouse-and-cat. At 1459, still colliding on 11540, but at 1501 one station cuts off revealing no other station either. Immediately tune around and now there is a signal on 11530, presumably DW jumped and/or changed site, as Bulgaria, France and Pridnestrovye have all been involved. Another is soon back on 11540, jammer missing target? At 1513 and 1543 chex there remain weakening signals on both frequencies (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** OKLAHOMA [and non]. Hepburn tropo maps for 1500 UT Nov 6 show marginal level-1 enhancement in eastern OK not reaching here and nothing to the west; yet KWOU 88.1 Woodward has tropo-enhanced signal for `StarDate` at 1442.5 UT Nov 6. By 1606 UT I do a DTV bandscan finding a Bad signal on RF 10 which could be Tulsa or Wichita; nothing else unusual except RF 16 still lacks KOCM; and RF 23 is so Bad that KSBI cannot be decoded, both ``local`` OKCs (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 9455 & 9395, Nov 6 at 1424, Brother Scare on WRMI says he is 86 years old today and has been preaching for 70 years. Is this really his birthday or another old playback? One never knows. What a wasted life! And how are the sexual predator charges against him coming along? SC authorities are not saying (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** TURKEY [and non]. Besides the radio war on 11540/11530, see KURDISTAN [non], what is TRT doing? 15350v, Nov 6 at 1353, tune-in just in time to hear TRT cut off its Turkish music before I could measure it, but BFO revealed it was off enough to make a LAH. 12035, Nov 6 at 1403, VOT in English with historical talk, 1405 switch to another show with a different theme but cannot copy their titles; close to on-frequency, poor and with occasional ACI from a USB 2-way circa 12032.5. Can`t find a simple SW program schedule since SW has been demoted to barely existing on the TRT World Television website https://www.trtworld.com/ nor can Alan Roe`s latest Hitlist link directly to any SW program schedule. We used to be on the P-mailing list for them twice a year; is anyone still getting those? 11815, Nov 6 at 1402, fast SAH in about equal mix with Radio Japan in Japanese. Not SW, but Clara Listensprechen sends along this: For Turkey, Al Jazeera English has become an irritant to its Qatar partnership --- Rare public ill-feeling has flared between the two allies as Turkish media laments the Doha outlet's coverage of the Syria offensive https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/turkey-al-jazeera-english-has-become-irritant-qatar (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 13565-CW, Nov 6 at 1356, HIFER beacon K6FRC in Patterson CA is JBA. Not until 1545 do I check DXmap, to find one sign of sporadic E, a 14 MHz MUF over the NW corner of Nevada; not the right spot for this catch, but it`s something, resulting from some ham contact. By then KVOH is unusually inbooming, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A [non]. 11900, Tue Nov 5 at 2025, S9/+10 song in Spanish, ``Bandolera`` --- what`s this, another OCB frequency? NO, back-announce 2027 in French, from that VOA African service DJ who also performs in English. 11900 B-19 scheduled as SAO TOME, 100 kW at 335 degrees so favorable USward, French 1930-2030 daily, plus 2030-2100 Sunday and Hausa 2030-2100 Saturday (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2006 monitoring: Vern of WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, now explains what happened with WOR last Saturday night. Due to a program schedule error earlier in the day, it ran at 0301-0330 UT Sunday, just before I tuned in, and preceding TWIAR. Says he will see about updating the websked. And: ``In equipment, I replaced the DAP-310 audio processor with an Inovonics INO223 Audio processor. three independently adjustable bands, digital look ahead processing; a 5 kHz brick wall bandpass limiter. Also, pre-emphasis to enhance intelligibility. 5 kHz is the minimum available, I would have preferred 4. It allows me to set + 103%, -95% peak modulation level with no occasional over-modulation spikes. With 360 watts radiated power from the antenna, it does a reasonable job. I will try to keep better tabs on log timing. Thank you for your input, and keep up the good work. Vern`` Next: 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v [ex-2100] to WSW 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 5010, Nov 6 at 0150, BB WRMI ID and music, // much stronger 5850, but something else talking on 7780, and 9395 inaudible. This could mean that the UT Sat 0130 time for WORLD OF RADIO will no longer be trimulcast on 5010, 5850 and 7780. See also ALBANIA [non] and ARGENTINA [non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 9955, Nov 6 at 1423, WRMI-10 is OFF, leaving some lite jamming; while 9455 & 9395 are still running TOMBS. 9955 after DST over is supposed to stay until 1500 UT + another hour weekends for Blalock the Blaster. ** U S A. 17775, Nov 6 at 1544, KVOH is S9+20/30 with gospel songs in Spanish; instead of JBA carrier or none at all, must be getting sporadic E boost; a bit of which is on the DX Map, a 14 MHz MUF blob over NW Nevada as a clue. Now the SSOB, and almost the OSOB besides the JBA carriers from TransAt, FRANCE on 17800 & 17825 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) This report despatched at 1843 UT November 6

Glenn Hauser logs November 4-5, 2019 |
|
Tuesday, November 05 2019
** ALASKA. 11670, Nov 5 at 1440, JBA carrier, so maybe KNLS English be really here instead of 11760 per its own website; in any event no good for winter night polar propagation west or east (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. 7380, Nov 4 at 2215, RHC English on now, so the ``African`` service stays on same frequency but an hour *earlier* from 2200 than in A-19, 2300-2400. Since 7380 is off after 2300, probably French and Portuguese have also been earlied to 2100-2200. No, it`s Arabic and Portuguese per J-M Aubier (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 6000, Nov 5 at 0057, RHC in Spanish as the weekday TV simulcast of `Mesa Redonda` is now a real hour later, so no more early English in the 00-01 hour; nor is 6165 on yet. The evening English span has also shifted an hour later to 0100-0800, as still on in English at 0724 check only on 6100, VG S9+30; and 6165 undermodulated S9/+10. I am not saying anything is wrong about this, since it seems to be an intentional if unpublicized seasonchange (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 15370, Nov 5 at 1513, surprised to hear this frequency now so temprano as it had been a tarde channel only. Replacing 15140 which is not on, or maybe that closed earlier. 15230 is also on. Now during `Sonido Cubano` music I also survey what other RHC Spanish frequencies are still running: 13700 (no spurs), 11760, 9640, 9535; and a JBA carrier on 6100 which could be Cuba or Asian remnant. At 1601, 13700 is off but 11760, 9640 and 9535 are still on. At 1602 Nov 5, 15370 still on with 11:04 timecheck, 15230 off. 15370, Nov 5 at 1900 recheck, now opening Arabic, ex-1800 on 15140 which is still off. // 11760 but modulation soon cut, and 1901* off. Tho it was still an all-day frequency yesterday, 15140 is still not on by 1930 Nov 5, so we`ll see where 2000 English can now be found. Things are changing day to day as the shakeup develops. See last report with Jean-Michel Aubier, France, monitoring for November 3. Strangely, 15370 was carrying the second half of English from 2030 on both Nov 3 and 4. Jean-Michel Aubier in France observed on Nov 4: ``1900-1930 Arabic 15140 1930-2000 Creole 15140 2000-2100 English 15140 2030-2100 English 15370 2100-2130 Arabic 7380 15140 15370 (3 fréquencies!) 2130-2200 Portuguese 7380 15370 2130-2200 Spanish 9880 (needs to be verified) 2200-2400 Spanish 15370 2200-2300 English 7380 2300-2400 Portuguese 11700 French not heard since Oct 27. Have the broadcasts disappeared? other frequencies?`` I, gh, wonder if no French could be connected to the ascension of French department person Tania Hernández to direct the entire emisora, as reported yesterday; no time to do French programs? Wolfgang Bueschel says he`s not heard from ailing Arnie with new sked info, but did his own RHC survey today, q.v., with similar results to mine (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA [and non]. 6125, Nov 4 at 2331, TV Martí still unjammed here, ex-5980, where its audio soundtrack appeared months ago, separately from RADIO Martí frequencies --- but now, it`s always // RM, so no more TVM to be heard on SW? Now it is // 7355 and 7435 (while jamming continues on ex-7335 heavy, 7375 lite). At 0057 Nov 5 I notice that 6125 is off, and confirming there is NO jamming; break for antenna and/or transmitter change? I think 6125 was back a few minutes later but failed to log it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** FRANCE. 17800, Nov 5 at 1519, JBA YL talking, while 17825 is a JBA AM carrier, i.e. Issoudun with Mini Transat yacht weather info, still not in DRM on either. Maybe vital info for the racing contestants but how many of them have portable DRMs aboard?? So much for a DRM Consortium publicity stunt (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** JAPAN [non]. 7410, Nov 5 at 0507, NHK English is poor, S8-S9 via AUSTRIA; higher // are out of question here, 9860 Vatican JBA carrier, and 11970 France zilch. Radio Japan has only three English SW broadcasts left, and this may be our best chance, considering the two bad frequencies no longer Palau at 1400; and 1100 on 11825 via Singapore (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** PERU. 5980, Nov 4 at 2331, JBA carrier under wall-of-noise jamming against no Martí which has moved to 6125. That could be Radio Chaski, as nothing is in HFCC B-19 on 5980 between 2200 and 0200. No carrier detected at 0006, so maybe closed in the meantime. I wish Claudio Galaz or someone in South America could confirm the Chaski cutoff time. You may recall a few years ago when it was later around 0100 with no CCI, I would track it slipping 5 seconds or so later from one night to the next, quite fun! Until they would reset their timer earlier, starting a slipcycle all over again. Now we can only hope that the incompetent Cuban jammers will turn off 5980 before RM really comes on at 0600. Even Cubans in favor of jamming should be livid about the electrical expense wasted on jamming against nothing; which could be spent on e.g. improving the diet of the poor population (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A [non]. 11610, Nov 5 at 1600, Somali on VOA as mentioned, S7-S9. It`s 1600-1800, 250 kW, 126 degrees from Woofferton UK, thus close to off-the-back here (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2006 monitoring: Richard Langley now confirms heard on all three 7780 WRMI airings, Sunday Nov 3 at 2130, UT Monday Nov 4 at 0130 & 0230; with some cutoffs. Following up last report that WOR was underway at 1902 UT Monday November 4 on IRRS 7290, heard via OH5AE SDR: I note the time of the mid-break as 1913:30, but that was 14:40 into the program, so playback must have started more than a minute early at 1858:50 --- hope the transmitter was already on with this input. And Alan Gale, England reports: ``Hi Glenn, Much to my surprise World of Radio was broadcast again this evening (Monday) on IRRS 7290 kHz at 1900 UT. I missed the start of the programme but it was on when I tuned in at 1913 and continued right to the end at 1928, so it looks like it was the full programme this time. Alan``. Also confirmed UT Tuesday November 5 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, JBA. Next: 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v [ex-2100] to WSW 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 6060, Nov 4 at 2328, WRMI activated new frequency, but poor S7-S9 in Chinese, music, SMTV ex-5800, ex-4980; and undermodulated like 5800 was. At 0000 UT Tue Nov 5, seems dead air or maybe JBM; 0002 some talk in English, music, Vietnamese, the off-putting language mixture of SMTV with no captions. NO RHC reactivated on 6060. WRMI chose 6060 to further the legacy of RAE which was on 6060 sesquidecades ago, and said would move their Spanish relay hour to 0100 Tue-Sat. At 0056 dead air? 0058 algo JBM; 0100 what? At 0104-0107 I am barely hearing on 6060 Christian hymns, definitely not RAE! 0201 still JBA but probably about to turn off 6060, unless it`s now Iran in Arabic as scheduled 1730-0230, 500 kW, 289 degrees from Zahedan for Arabia and North Africa, but likely QRMing WRMI/RAE in Latin America beyond. BTW, RAE continues hinting they will be getting a new SW transmitter of their own. Other WRMI monitoring: 5010, Nov 4 at 2329, is on with algo, Fámily Radio? 9395, Nov 4 at 0100, not RAE in English when it has been, but VP M&W talk. Oldies and BB ID late past 0200, then RAE multi-lingual opening and theme into English now an hour later. 0256 check Qur`an --- recognized as part of the WRMI `World Music` fill loop --- I wonder what genuine Moslems make of this insert -- what is this passage in mandatory Arabic about? Radio Tirana now scheduled too an hour later at 0230, but ends early; 0258 WRMI Spanish ID and bit of music, 0259 another ID JBA, 0300, Prague theme opening English. The WRMI skedgrid, http://www.tinyurl.com/WRMIfqs reminds us that XMTR 6, 355 degrees on 9395 runs System G until 0230 including RAE ATTW English, and from 0230 System H with Tirana, 0300 Prague. Also, the programs grids mostly in UT, but System G is in EDT/EST, which accounts for the one-hour-later shift, like always happens with System B on 9955. Yet System H is in UT, but times are now wrong, still with Tirana at 0130 and Prague at 0200 (except for music show pre-emptions on certain days. At least we now have Tirana unscathed at new 2030 time M-F on 15770, which I have yet to run across.) This shift may have edged out WORLD OF RADIO, which had been running at 0130 UT Monday, a day off for Tirana on 9395. Now WOR is not shown on 9395 at 0130 or 0230, which need to be monitored next week. Should still be on 7780 at both times. Also displayed in ET rather than UT are System C, nothing but TOMBS on all his frequencies. And System L, very incomplete on 9455. It would be very helpful if someone outside WRMI with plenty of spare time, could reorganize the WRMI program skedgrids by FREQUENCY, instead of by System --- so one could pick a frequency and see all the programming on it in UT ONLY, no matter from what system! But this could be problematic as the System skeds are not complete nor 100% accurate. Yet the playback computers must know what they are supposed to do (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 7490+, UT Tue Nov 5 at 0000, WBCQ is VP S6-S7, but I can recognize the intonations of Uncle Bill, so indeed his `Melting Pot` is getting another play as filler, 25 hours after normal airing, most of which I missed, but by 0015 I`m hearing it well on webcast. He`s back at 0100 UT Tue now with his othershow, `From the Isle of Music` which includes a lot of talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) UNIDENTIFIED. It`s way too late for a detailed JBA TA MW carrier bandscan, Nov 5 at 0717, but a few spotchex before dozing: 774 with beat, presumed Spains; 693, 621; and 846 which I assume is really Kiritimati TP; rather than low-powers in Denmark, Ireland, Italy; medium powers but too far into dayside now, Iran, Saudi, UAE, South Africa (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) This report dispatched at 1951 UT November 5
