Glenn Hauser logs June 27-28, 2022 |
|
Tuesday, June 28 2022
** CUBA. 13772 & 13628 approx., June 28 at 1429, RHC spurblob with F# tone from 13700 transmitter, not the // 13740 which is also on. Main ones at plus/minus ~72 kHz. Also a bit weaker at 2 x 72 = 144 kHz up on 13844 QRMing WWCR 13845, tsk3. And more, detectable about 13921. Also on the minus side, 13555 QRMing CODAR, and 13408, but nothing found about halfway between the last two. Spurs so distorted as to be completely unreadable. Something`s always wrong at RHC.
Another oddity, probably unrelated, but not observed before: June 28 at 1430, pure carriers cutting on and off regularly every few seconds, on 13753 and 13550. By 1508 recheck everything is off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Sporadic E FM DX opening, June 27, I start monitoring at 1759 UT; all on caradio in the garage, relatively comfortable after a cool spell and this early in the day; vertical fender antenna only; times strictly UT; same provisos as in previous recent reports: 95.3 at 1759, ``Beat It`` tune overrides KOKC OKC translator. 94.3 at 1804, frenetic Spanish music, PTA is Florida from DXMAP MUFs. 1806, YL DJ. Distancefromto thinx this is near Tampa rather than in the Keys! Not much more the next quarter-hour, but by 1842, I`m getting MEXICO, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. After a semihour of S Florida sporadic E FM DX, see USA, I`m getting even more Spanish, soon located to Mexico, June 27 from 1842 UT on the caradio in relatively cool garage, vertical fender antenna only; all logged in real time, on my own ears, no recordings, no internet access for stream //s, until researched later on the WTFDA FM Database. All times strictly UT. 93.1 at 1842, JBA Spanish CCI to Kansas. I later find there are no SS on 93.1 in Florida nor anywhere else in US at likely Es distance, but lots of Mexicans, 17 of them, all but one with some kind of music format. 1906 and 1921 more bits of SS talk; at 1942 another Spanish mixing, this one with music. The only talker is: XHPBJR-FM 93.1 SAN JUAN DEL RÍO QRO NEWS/TALK SUPER STEREO MILED ENG[ineering] DATA MISSING -- -- 1792 km = 967 statute miles 92.3 at 1843, YL in Spanish, CCI to KS/OK. 1920 & 1940, Mexican music; not enough to guess! 92.1 at 1851, YL timecheck in Spanish as 1:51, so it`s México, not Florida for sure. 1909 bits of talk; 1914 ad for movic.mx = a record label and ``MOVIC RECORDS is an apparel & fashion company based out of San Pedro Garza García, México`` per linkedin. Limpiadora ad; 1915 ``La Radio que te escucha``, Soriana ad; 25% discount on TV screen; Ejército Nas? as in Nacional? DE MÉXICO CDMX CLASSIC HITS STEREO JOYA 60.48 kW 632.0 --- 1890 km = 1174 mi Add-on to other logs above take us to 2001; seems over by 2006 and when back online I check DXMAP at 2015 to see a 103 MHz Es blob close to the Laredos accounting for all this! BTW in this sesquihour of DX, I never heard any X+ callsign mentioned (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. As I am completing the June 27 Es FM DX reports, by 1610 UT June 28 MORE big openings are in progress, so back to the car for 2+ hours. ND, SD, MB, MT; and separately from LA & TX at least, including, 96.7 KOYE Frankston TX, only 530 km = 329 miles! Extremely strong sporadic E for a path so close! These openings will take a lot more time to research and report fully; and there may be even more to come. Got to take advantage of this summer Es, as there will soon be ~10 months of nothing. I had to miss much of the latest January 6 hearing starting at 1700, but will catch replay later. Notable that not a single FM station, nearby or DX, was broadcasting it, as great threats to our Democracy don`t matter to them! --- except on KOSU and probably KWOU from NPR. No doubt more NPR stations were on it but not skipping out. Quit for R&R and lunch after 1816, I find it not only on TV from PBS, MSNBC and CNN, surely CSPAN but not checked; but also on mainstream ABC, CBS, NBC, and even Fox News Channel (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2144 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday June 28 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9/+10 direct; and still gone from 9455, now sending R. Eslovaquia Internacional in Spanish. Next: 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated; thanks this week for a generous quarterly check at Solstice & Equinox from Gerald T. Pollard, Raleigh NC, to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. On June 28, I replied to Jeff White about the WRMI splatter problem: At 0640, 9455 seems to be clear. At 1521, also, altho maybe not strong enough to be sure, only S7/S9 on generous meter. Also sounds undermodulated as do others of your frequencies. Old transmitters can`t handle 100%? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1925 UT June 28 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Glenn Hauser logs June 26-27, 2022 |

Tuesday, June 28 2022
** BRAZIL. 9673.310V, June 27 circa 0130, RVM in Brazuguese preaching, S7/S9 and varying slightly downward as I try to measure it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHINA. 13810, June 27 at 1511, Chinese and music, S7/S9 with LAH = low audible heterodyne. Hard to tell which one, or both, slightly off-frequency. Mainly CNR1 jammer, and maybe the music under talk be also from it; per Aoki at 15-17 vs RFA Chinese via Tajikistan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 4765, June 27 at 0112, no signal from R. Progreso into Maryland SDR, supposedly *0030-0400*. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba. Interesting to look at the CODAR pattern on the waterfall around 4765 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. Finally my first FM DX of the season from the south, June 27 1830-2000 UT, including Puebla. To be fully researched and IDed by next report (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 27184.5 AM, June 26 at 2206, S9 of country music, presumed the local Enid CBer again piratically relaying 103.1 KOFM. Skip DXers afar ought to hear this if there be sporadic E (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, June 26 at 2207, no signal from VOT direct for English to N America. Off or not propagating? 9830, June 27 at 2200 via UTwente, only a weak signal presumably China, until VOT pops on a bit late, S9+40 with some hum. 2224 repeating same ``weekly`` show about eye care, `Feeling Supreme: Healthy Life` as heard June 25 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 13565 CW, June 27 at 1509, beacon K6FRC is JBA vs CODAR; sends callsign only over & over. Tuned across almost every morning and first time heard again since April 12; always near this hour. Is it just propagation, or not really running 24/7 as should any beacon? This says it`s 13565.04, and look at all the others on this ISM band, only a few of which I have ever heard: https://www.lwca.net/sitepage/part15/index.htm K6FRC claims to run only 1.8 milliwatts from Patterson CA. QRZ.com: ``Operator of- K6FRC/B 50.080 MHz. K6FRC/B 28.300 MHz. [which I have also heard] K6FRC 13.565 MHz. (Part 15 'HiFer') Go to www.K6FRC.com for K6FRC beacon locations. Please mail your reception report or QSL to: Paul Shinn P.O. Box 175 Valley Springs, CA 95252 No S.A.S.E. required! It is a pleasure to respond to all mailed QSL cards and reception reports. Respect for tradition demands it.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2144 monitoring: confirmed Sunday June 26 from 2000.6 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz only, S9+20 into nearby Noale SDR. And not on 918 nor 207 kHz this time. Also confirmed Sunday June 26 at 2230 on WRMI 5950, S9+10/15 into one Athens GA SDR, S9/+5 into the other. Also confirmed UT Monday June 27 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S7/S9 and noisy into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed UT Monday June 27 not starting until 0315.4 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160 -57 Hz = 6159.943, as Johnny Lightning runs way over, until ``gotta go`` at 0314, plus dead air and WBCQ ID, then WOR, which played to 0344 conclusion, Hobart Radio International overlapping my closing; but at 0400 recheck, 6160- back to TOMBS // 5890 WWCR; so HRI was chopped short as a result of JL`s overage. Next: 0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated; thanks this week for a generous quarterly check at Solstice & Equinox from Gerald T. Pollard, Raleigh NC, to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, June 27 at 2208, this WRMI is just barely modulated unlike 9395 & 9455; glad I`m on 5950 instead at 2230 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5950, UT Monday June 27 at 0007, via Georgia remote, WRMI with S Asian music fill, shortly into that beautiful `cello solo piece, i.e. Bach`s Suite #1 in G. Here`s a YoYoMa performance of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGgG-0lOJjk which also leads to much more `cello including performances by one HAUSER, i.e. Stjepan Hauser from Croatia, no relation? In an alternate lifespan, I would love to have been a `cellist! At 0028 recheck, back to S Asian music. But the point is, scheduled at this time is `Ham Radio Concepts`; what became of it? Nothing about it on the WRMI program page; was there ever? HRC may be the same thing as a podcast; a limited tutorial? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9455, June 27 at 0209, I sent this to Jeff White, WRMI: ``9455 splattering all over --- Jeff, You really have a problem with the 9455 transmitter. This evening in direct reception at 0125 it`s overmodulated/distorted on 9455 itself but also splattering, rather wiping out anything down to 9400 and still quite audible between the other big signals, 9395, 9330 and 9265, and still audible as low as 9200. However, not much like that fortunately on the plus side of 9455. Others have also reported this. 73, Glenn`` 9455, June 27 at 1514, WRMI open carrier S5/S9 and off at 1516 uncovering JBA carrier from CRI Kunming as USAGM is no longer trying to share 9455. Guess WRMI is working on #5 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, June 27 at 0115, WRNO concluding TV soundtrack of Billy Graham, BGEA until 0116; surprisingly ``mainstream``, not to mention, not surprisingly, deceased (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1130 kHz, June 27 at 2219 UT, KLEY Wellington KS is still on with 250 watts of dead air; and also at night vs KWKH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5130-, UT Monday June 27 at 0200, WBCQ Radio Angela, `Concert Hall` with part 1 of 2 of Lehár`s operetta, `The Merry Widow`, English version. I don`t see any previews online of CH content, but next week know will start with the rest of it. A fun listen, lovely melodies, and some lyrix can be understood vs the noise level, S7/S9 into Maryland remote, where I`m running it in SAS = fake stereo. There are storms from AZ-NM-TX-LA then upward to PA. Offset fluxuates -23/-27 Hz = 5129.973 - 5129.977 kHz. 0339 brief poetry segment and UB says the same Lainie Petersen will be reading out Orwell`s `1984` from July serially for however long it takes, UT Saturdays at 0200-0230, followed at 0230-0300 by Greek Refuge, music in the wake of ERT`s termination of SW. Tonight before ending at 0400, a snippet of TMW in original German (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. A sporadic E FM DX opening brought stations from south Florida, June 27 from 1759 to about 1830 UT, some in Spanish, then lots of Mexicans until 2000. It will take a while to research and identify as many of these as possible (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report despatched at 2340 UT June 27 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
