Glenn Hauser logs March 10, 2021 |

** CUBA. 11845, March 12 at 1540 Cuban pulse jamming against nothing, despite Radio Martí having abandoned this frequency some years ago. Something`s always wrong at the incompetent and wasteful DentroCuban Jamming Command. Other broadcasters may be on to them: HFCC B-20 shows absolutely nothing scheduled on 11845. But EiBi has another jammer country, China`s CNR2 at 0100-0855 via x site. See also TURKEY [and non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** GUATEMALA. On March 12 I wrote to Radio Verdad: ``Dr Madrid, We miss your SW signal on 4055. What are the prospects for getting it back on the air from Guatemala? Regards, Glenn Hauser`` Quickly replied: ``Dear Glenn: Thank you for your concern. We are planning to repair one power module next Tuesday, in order to come back on air with 280 watts. I have acquired the mica insulators we needed for the power transistors. I am sending the other two modules to Canada to be repaired by Eng. Wayne Ralph Borthwick. The delay has been caused by the extreme negligence of our Technician. May God be with you and keep you with a good health. Dr. Édgar Amílcar Madrid, Radio Truth, Chiquimula, Guatemala, C. A.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [and non]. 6125, March 12 at 0430, VOT Turkish music filling out English hour to N America, but with heavy pulse-jamming QRM adding up to S9+10/20. Of course it`s overrun from Cuba after Radio Martí quit at 0400*. Clueless TRT frequency management has not grasped it should avoid any Martí frequency even when itself be finished. Nor 9830 hitting RTTY after 2200 in the A seasons which I bet they are about to resume. Something`s always awry at Ankara (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2077 monitoring; next: 1300 UT Saturday WRMI 15770 to NE 2030vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 2230 UT Saturday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 2300 UT Saturday WRMI 7780 to NE 0400vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0415; as late as 0500] [DST starts between these times] 2200vUT Sunday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW [ex-2300?] 2300 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to NE [new] 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW 0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE, 5800 to SSE 1901 UT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW [ex-2200] 2200 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE [ex-2300] 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Michael Rutkaus, K4GET, Winchester VA, for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily in US funds One may also contribute via MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5800, Friday March 12 at 0705, S9+20/10 of open carrier, got to be WRMI again on air during scheduled break for some reason, as last heard about same time on Monday Feb 22. Wonder if automation be mis-programmed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 12050, March 12 at 1538, S7-S9 of dead air in Spanish from WEWN; for at least a minute, so not merely long boring pause in a mass (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7890, March 12 at 0706, JBA S5-S6, maybe trace of modulation from presumed R. Vanuatu, 2 x 3945; also S4-S5 on 11835, 3 x 3945, the three of them now starting at 0700. I`ve been intending to seek previous fundamental 7260 until 0659 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 2959.85V, March 12 at 0330, JBA carrier again suspected of being second harmonic of an off-frequency 1480 station. As previously reported on almost same frequency: ``UNIDENTIFIED. 2959.842, March 2 at 0207, JBA carrier, suspected second harmonic of a 1480-minus station. Later checked my previous log to find independently measured within 3 Hz: UNIDENTIFIED. 2959.839, Feb 22 at 0349, JBA carrier unseems birdie, again suspecting a second harmonic from a Latin American MW 1479.9195 but nothing that far off in mwoffsets`` Meanwhile no one else has reported it; did anyone even try? So this time I quickly go over to the KiwiSDR net looking for it at numerous remotes around USA and S America --- nothing. So now I am concluding it really be birdie from a local device. Never mind (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 11342-USB, March 12 at 1542, 2-way, at first unID language but maybe heavily accented English from a flight, reply in real English mentioning phone patch and sending sel-call tones. But nothing more heard for 4 minutes. Numerous 11342 logs in UDXF iog up to 2018y as New York LDOC; tho maybe some other hub along whatever route this apply to. What does LDOC mean? Last Day Of Classes, Laying [sic] Down On Couch; or more likely, Long Distance Operational Control (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2216 UT March 12

** CUBA. 6180, March 11 at 0147, S9+20 of dead air on CRI relay, trace of underaudio maybe Brasil if not CRI JBM. Also some lite pulse jamming, maybe bleedover from Cuban neighbor transmitter. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** KOREA SOUTH [non]. 11880, March 12 at 0059, huge open carrier, S9+10/20 via Bonaire KiwiSDR, so quiet that I thought at first the tuner was muted. About 0059.7 a few notes of the Encompass IS so evidently routed via London; 0100 opening ``KBS World Radio`` pronounced in English, otherwise relay in Spanish. This was found by Ivo Ivanov as a new entry in HFCC B-20 for March 10-12 only as a test, but was heard yesterday until 0200 with a VG signal by JRX in Brasil who thinx it runs at least until March 28. Supposedly still on 9605 via WHRI at same hour, I did not get around to checking. Other frequencies were registered via Greenville but AFAIK never tried. We assume that KBS relay is due to switch from SC to NC, sometime. I understand it is on azimuth 164 from Grimesland (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 332-MCW kHz, March 11 at 0716 UT, unusually a third station mixing with IC Wichita KS and QT Thunder Bay ON, the latter weaker than usual as it normally exceeds IC despite being 10X further. Part of the call is overlapping, but ends with -IS. This is a likely fit: FIS, Key West - Fish Hook FL, 400 watts. I had another fishy log of this on Dec 14, over 2 megameters away vs TB at only 1.5 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 13565-CW, JBA vs CODAR, March 11 at 1451, K6FRC calls over and over, HIFER beacon in Patterson CA, every logging notable as it`s 1.8 milliwatts. Never traced much later in the day (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2076 monitoring: Monitored WRMI Sunday Evening / Monday Morning (UTC) 7780 kHz Schedule --- From my recording last Sunday evening, 7-8 March 2021 UTC (note additional airing of World of Radio at 23:00 UTC): 23:00 World of Radio (#2076; not Bringing Truth to Life) (Richard Langley, NB, March 10, WOR iog) New, now added to the sked grid. Has been 24 hours earlier Saturdays but not on grid, so both now, or moved? This would have been at same Sunday time as on Area 51 WBCQ 6159.93, but from March 14 that presumably shifts one UT hour earlier to 2200 UT, further into ever-increasing daytime absorption. I`m hoping A-21 skeds out shortly from HFCC will no longer show a WBCQ conflict with WHRI over 7490, so we can go back into the night at 0300 UT Mondays on 6160-. 7490 programming obligations had to be moved onto 6160. WOR 2076 also confirmed Wed March 10 at 1050 when I happened to awaken, the 1030 on WRMI 5850, VG. Also confirmed UT Thu March 11 at 0130 on WRMI 5010, S9 but noisy storm crashes from Iowa; also some storms vs Pardinho, Brasil SDR, S8-S9 at 0157 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. But overmodulated/distorted, continuous music past 0230 rather than frequent, or any, 93.7 IDs as before. Kiwi shows carrier varying around plus 26 Hz, very close to where I measured it directly a binite ago, +22 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2077) This report dispatched at 0240 UT March 12

** CANADA [and non]. 269-MCW kHz, March 10 at 0726 UT, ND beacon UDE --- could it be a Cuban, all of which start with U-? No, this one alternates with a dash, so it`s Canadian, 50 watts from Delta MB.
DXinfocentre.com shows 16 U- Cubans, but all ``decommissioned`` except 250 in Habana - Playa Baracoa, UBP with 80 watts. Not even heard here. As in my previous compilation of Caribeacons, classaxe.com shows two still logged in Jan or Feb this year, 250 UBP and 339 UAH Santiago, and three more in 2020; but many more are not darkened yet. Lots have changed their U- callsigns over the years; for security? And/or miskeying. Something`s always wrong --- here, too (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9650, Mar 10 at 2007, S9+10 open carrier, SSOB; likely RHC warming up much earlier than nominal *2200 start and totally blocking any Guinea. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ERITREA [non]. 17545.061V, Wed Mar 10 at 1530, S4-S7 Bayto Yaikl clandestine via defective FRANCE transmitter, audibly wavarying as I try to measure it, roughly between 17545.049 and 17545.073. Semihour also only on Saturdays, brokered by RMI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SAUDI ARABIA. 11820.044, Mar 10 at 1940, continuous Qur`aning, S8 with a lot of deep fading to S5; as always, off-frequency, but seasonally showing up better again soporifically for my nap until switch at 2000 to plain Arabic talk; probably soon back to Qur`an (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 9690, March 10 at 2006, REE reactivated after missing this frequency for almost a week, S9/+10; so, good prospect for token English at 2300 W/F/M; now it`s a silly ballgame in Spanish. Yes, at 2309, guitar-singers featured by Justin Coe on VG S9+10 into Bonaire. Pedro Sedano sends planned A-21 sked showing 9690 replaced by 17855 for North America, total span 1400/0200. Should be good over daypaths, but much lower needed over nightpaths, like 9690. Wolfgang Bueschel shows alternative version, changing to 9690 at 2200; we hope (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2076 monitoring: confirmed Wed Mar 10 at 2100 on WRMI 7780, S7-S9 into UTwente SDR. Also confirmed Wed Mar 10 from 2200:21 on WBCQ 7490+, S7-S9 into KB0FX SDR in MO, but with some lightning crashes which Blitzortung shows can be no closer than southern MN and northern MI Also confirmed Wed Mar 10 at 2300 on WRMI 9955, S8/S9+10 into Bonaire SDR, atop jamming but losing out as the semihour progresses. Next: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Kelley Sprout, KB3LR, Hughesville PA, for a MO to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702. The same address for a check in US funds on a US bank One may also contribute via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily US funds. New WOR 2077 should be ready by early UT Fri March 12 for first airings at 0130 on WRMIs 5850, 7780 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 11825.020, March 10 at 1535, S4-S7 of M&W dialog, intonation sort of French but not sure. Nothing scheduled now in latest HFCC, Aoki or EiBi; tho RBAustralia may run until 1500*. Clew: another site, capable of offfrequenciness (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 11945, March 10 until 1538.4* shortly after tune-in to JBA signal with Doppler flutter. Nothing scheduled; maybe a pre-test for the next one, *1700 Japan via France? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2328 UT March 10

Wednesday, March 10 2021
** CANADA. 2749-USB, March 10 at 0253 UT, marine weather in English by roboyl, S7-S9 still hard copy in noise level but better than usual. 0256 mentions R-C-M-P- and travel advisories; 0257 abrupt switch to French by a different-sounding roboyl. Per https://dxinfocentre.com/mb.htm the most recent start time for 2749 in Met Area IV is 0240 from VCS-21, Halifax NS, with 1500 watts; not specified as EE/FF unlike some of the others. Nothing audible now on 2598-USB as the most recent Newfoundland broadcast starting at 0207 would be over by now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA [and non]. 13629 & 13771 approx., March 9 at 1538, JBA S1-S4 spurblobs with F# tone from 13700-AM RHC which is weaker than usual itself, only S7-S8 with SAH from presumed Bulgaria BS. Second-orders which should land around 13558 & 13842 not audible. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) see also unID CODAR ** CUBA. 5910, March 10 at 0304, dead air from CRI relay but as soon as I tune in, power ramped up to quieter S9+30. Shux, missing the ChiCom news, but maybe will eventually start modulating, underly and/or distortedly (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** FRANCE. 9880-9885-9890, March 9 at 2345, checking for RFI/TDF DRM test, the N American SDRs I try are not getting it, but TWR Dominican Republic does, barely: SNR 11-13 dB, still at 8.08 kbps, S7-S8 and occasionally decode breaking thru. Altho 2330-2400 a convenient? time for NAm, this and all the others are axually beamed 105 degrees from ISSoudun for S Asia; for how much longer? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 9690, March 9 at 2349, another day of REE North American transmitter missing, no signal to S Miami SDR, but audible on 11940, 12030. March 10 at 0126 direct check, 11940 is OK, but still no 9690, just splatter from 9700 Cuba. If 9690 still AWOL on Wednesday, maybe we can hear token English at 2300 on some of the others (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TIBET [non]. 12125, March 9 at 1555, surprising S7-S9 signal in unknown language, but RFA Tibetan via TINIAN, NMI, is listed by EiBi, not Aoki, this hour only; surely jammed but that would be in unheard Chinese. Off after 1600 clearing frequency for CODAR only. 11550, March 9 at 1556, similar good signal S9-S6 in Korean, still past 1600, i.e. RFA Korean via SAIPAN, NMI until 1900 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 13565-CW, March 9 at 1537, K6FRC call over and over, JBA, the 1.8-milliwatt HIFER beacon in Patterson, California; rarely audible but always around now in the mornings (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2076 monitoring, next: 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 2300 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Kelley Sprout, KB3LR, Hughesville PA, for a MO to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702. The same address for a check in US funds on a US bank One may also contribute via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily US funds (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 12050, March 9 at 1557, WEWN Spanish with ICR/RCC news, surprisingly strong S9/+10. Must be getting sporadic E boost, but no MUF blob on DXMAP to account for it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085, March 10 at 0250, WTWW-2 is weakened, only S9/+10 and fluttery instead of solid, furthermore undermodulated uselessizing it. Only other TN signal any good is 3215 WWCR, aside from its annoying squeal; degraded propagation also takes out 5935, 4840 and no doubt 5830 if it be on (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 820 kHz, March 10 at 0142 UT, at least on the E-W longwire, WBAP The Metroplex has QRM from an understation, ``You are listening to the Zack --- on CBS Sports Radio``. NRC AM Log shows the only CS on 820 is WWBA Largo FL, U4 50/1 kW. Its night pattern is supposed to be circular skewed SW into the Gulf; day pattern two tight lobes to north and SSE; or is it on ND STA? We`ve had WWBA QRMing WBAP before, even with same programming echoing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1030 kHz, March 10 at 0145 UT, Mexmx dominating, Spanish ad with an 866-tollfree number, more music. First, to rule out KCTA Corpus Christi semi-Spanish but religious: this one loops E/W, not N/S, but therefore is still Unitedstatesian. 0149 ID by SHVA = super-hype voice-actor so beloved of macho stations -- which is a needed standard abbr. in DXing I have been glad to coin --- mentioning 97.3 FM among others. Mostly dominant but some fades down as KCWJ MO in English fades up with its frequent IDs such as at 0153, 0216. My first guess for Spanish E/W is WGSF Memphis TN, U12! 50/1 kW, 24h as Radio Ambiente per NRC AM Log, but no group and no FM listed; heard before. And where is our closest 1030, KFAY Farmington AR, English news/talk U4 6000/1000? 0156, Mexmx is back up, 0200 fade for ToH ID, natch; 0211 non-IDs for two FMs: 99.1 and 97.3. Ajá, that clinches it thanks to Grp info in the NRC AM Log for one of the few other SS on 1030: WNOW, Mint Hill (Charlotte) NC! which is a 9400-watt DAYTIMER, and it`s direxional, circle tangent west aimed right at us. Its Group at the bottom of page 296 is ``La Zeta`` including a 1060 station and mere translators on those very two FM frequencies: W247CV on 97.3, and W256BP on 99.1. I never copied ``La Zeta`` nor any call letters nor any cities, but this circumstantial info make me totally positive. Per WTFDA FMDB, 99.1 is licensed to Charlotte itself, 97.3 to Monroe NC. Mint Hill is on the east side of Charlotte just inside the I-485 ring. Monroe is further out to the SE, halfway to SC. Recheck at 0257-0302 UT, no more WNOW, just KCWJ including at 0300, ``Real Country 1030-AM, KCWJ, Blue Springs ---``. So maybe WNOW finally turned off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Re: [WOR] Heterodyne on 1540 --- ``Mystery finally solved! The station at 1540.195 kHz as monitored from the KiWi SDR in Woodstock, GA and confirmed at my home location in Buford, GA is in fact WKVQ in Eatonton, GA. I actually heard a station ID at just past 1900 UT on 9 March with someone in between Gospel songs announcing "WKVQ ...1540 on your AM dial...Eatonton". WKVQ as monitored on KiWi SDR in Woodstock, Georgia USA, 1540.195 kHz SDR center, Sync Upper Sideband mode, waterfall/spectrum capture, and audio of ID at 1900 UT on 9 March 2021: https://youtu.be/GvV0csFz5TM - Harry Smith, Buford, GA`` [and non] Here`s something else? on the IRCA iog: ``Rob Keeney 2:31 am #18357 --- I've got a weak carrier showing on 1540.209 tonight on an approx bearing of 108° from Harker Heights TX, which is much farther south than what Fred is talking about. Rob Keeney, Harker Heights TX, Airspy HF+ Discovery, YouLoop, XHDATA D-808 barefoot`` H.H. is a 26K suburb of Killeen, not even indexed in regular Atlas, i.e. near Waco and Temple, north of Austin. 108 degrees from there misses USA entirely, between Florida and Cuba, across Hispaniola, St. Vincent, skims the NE coast of Brasil. Any 1540s around there? None in Caribbean but plenty in Brasil, a few in the nordeste. BTW, WRTH 2021 page 554 shows Bahamas 1540 ZNS as in Freeport instead of Nassau. 810 is the one in Freeport, page 93 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VENEZUELA. 6205, March 9 at 1915-1925, weak S4 open carrier into Bonaire SDR, ROCV testing another frequency; via WOR iog: ``Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain. VENEZUELA, 6205, R. O. C. V., El Tigre, according with a whatsapp from the station, R. O. C. V is testing right now on 6205 with only carrier, later will test audio, music, 60 watts power. Checking via SDR Kiwi remote receiver in Bonaire, 1535, 09-03, fair carrier, no audio`` Audio-visually, without BFO on Bonaire, nor on waterfall, not noticeably different from S4 band noise level. But also audible & visible are local Bonaire S5 noise peaks circa 6215 and 6150, and more ~65 kHz above and below. ROCV too weak to register any frequency offset. By 0224 UT March 10 check on my own rx, a JBA carrier which I can measure as 6205.022. What`s next? Likely to confront Europirate and other QRM here. Meanwhile some other N Americans are hearing it better (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 5984.0-CW, March 10 at 0305-0307*, can`t help but notice some automated Morse code as I bandscan, fortunately before WRMI comes up on 5985. Includes a lot of numbers but not totally as if spy. Never copied a DE or an ID. EiBi includes lots of utes, but nothing here nor on 5985. Search of the UDXF iog immediately gets two and only two hits on 5984. Including on 4 July *2013*, Russian Navy on 8345, lots of messages copied including one calling for a QSX [reply] on 5984. RCV was often being called, which I logged Feb 24, 2021 near the same hour on another intruding frequency, 5916.0-CW, Sevastopol`, Crimea. I did not remember that frequency in time to check it again. UDXF info came from: ``Tony Roper, Icom IC-R8500, SDR-IQ, Longwire, Garex Active Antenna, Visit my website for aviation images: http://www.rogdabbit.co.uk Blog: http://planesandstuff.wordpress.com/ Shack situated: http://goo.gl/maps/3GPhm Maidens, Scotland`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 13832-13900 approx., March 9 at 1542, weak CODAR across this range where I have not noted it before; as I am looking for Cublobs; mainly QRMs also weak 13845 WWCR. Or as Harold Frodge, MI, calls CODAR, with a Feb 16-17 survey at 0444 on the 4 MHz band, 2234 and 1944 on 13 where normally vigent but not including today`s obs: ``Otherness: Int’l Windshield Wiper Synchronization Service 4740-4760 4775-4785 4805-4815 4890-4910 13415-13480 13535-13545`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report despatched at 0520 UT March 10

** MEXICO. Re 770, XEFRTM, Zacatecas, here`s another report of it just received:
``770 MÉXICO XEFRM , Fresnillo. MAR 28 0453 – fair mixing with CHQR/KATL/KKOB while local KTTH was having automation problems. Sounded like Fútbol game, or highlights from an earlier game. IDed with the help of James Niven who confirmed this was //"W Radio" outlets XEX-730 and XEW-990 . This is a new 25 kW "W Radio" outlet that's been on the air for a few months. [BP-WA] BRUCE PORTZER, Seattle WA. Perseus receiver with terminated outdoor 10'x40' delta loops`` (DXWW edited by Brandon Jordan who is retiring and a successor is needed, IRCA DX Monitor March 13, published March 8) ** SPAIN [and non]. 9690, REE frequency for N America, is still down - nothing at 2203 check March 8 tho Europe propagates e.g. 9420 Greece. There are signals from the other three Noblejas transmitters, 12030, 11940 and even 11685, always the weakest for Africa vs RTTY 11687.5, presumably NAU Puerto Rico. So another token English broadcast is likely missed for us at 2300-2330 Monday but not checked then. However, by 0154 UT March 9 at Bonaire TWR SDR, 11940 thataway is S8-S9, nothing on 9690 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1040, re `Red Eye Radio` heard under WHO must be the only RER affiliate listed, WYSL, Avon NY --- the following may be more likely, from Greg Hardison on the WOR iog: ``"``Red Eye Radio``, the competing slightly more rational? national talkshow..." --- I believe WHBO is carrying this also on 1040 with a 24 hr ND signal under STA; I've noticed the RER website is somewhat pitifully non-updated in its allegations of affiliates listed. RER is indeed about as "rational" as blind, deaf, dumb, mindlessly unquestioning obsequious groveling worship of Trump ever gets.`` WHBO is in Pinellas Park FL, when not STA, nominally U2 3600/420 watts, per NRC AM Log, NWS/tlk, only net shown with WW1. But RER is part of Westwood One, as on their program schedule https://www.newstalkflorida.com/radio-lineup/ at 1-5 am weekdays, 1-6 am weekends - EST, soon shifting to EDT = 05-09 & 05-10 UT respectively. Supposedly only 105 watts per: Letter from FCC on file dated February 19, 2021: ``This is in reference to the request filed on February 11, 2021. Genesis has requested a further extension of the STA granted on August 28, *2006*, as modified to continue operating ND at night with reduced power to allow time to file the required FCC Form 301 application to propose a new two tower nighttime array (due to the past removal of one of the nighttime towers).1 In support of the request, Genesis stated that it plans to file the application to propose a new nighttime two tower directional antenna pattern within the next 30 days. [...] Accordingly, the request for extension of the STA IS HEREBY GRANTED, and Genesis may continue to operate ND at night with a maximum of 0.105 kW using the daytime site tower, with no change to the licensed daytime operation. Genesis must reduce nighttime power or cease operation if complaints of interference are received, and use whatever means are necessary to protect workers and the public from exposure to radio frequency radiation in excess of the Commission’s exposure guidelines. See 47 CFR § 1.1310. This authority expires on August 18, 2021. Sincerely, [signed] Joseph Szczesny, Engineer, Audio Division, Media Bureau`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1510, March 9 at 0023 UT, S9+10/20 of dead air suppressing sound from understation presumed WLAC; i.e. this is another screwup by KCTE, DFed from the NE direxion of Independence MO. Well at least this post-sunset daytimer is not off-frequency and not modulating: two out of three, how bad is that? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VENEZUELA [non]. 7500, March 9 at 0148, zero signal into Bonaire SDR from ROCV. Was yesterday its only test day? Not on ex-6906 nor ex-6200 either. What be next? 7495, I do notice however, some language S7 aside 7500. EiBi shows it`s VOA Radio Ashna in Pashto to Afghanistan via KUWAIT (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0538 UT March 9
