Glenn Hauser logs April 10-11, 2020  View Printable Version
Saturday, April 11 2020

Hauser
** ARGENTINA [non]. 9395, Friday April 10 at 2100, the nominal
``Italian`` hour of RAE relay via WRMI starts in Spanish by host
Fernando Farías, 2102 into the voz of Arnaldo Slaen with abbr`d
Actualidad DX, about IRRS War Room Pandemic show, Honduran FM station,
Radio Cuarentena. 2110 into French introduced as the second of their
multi-lingual shows from homes; very much like if not identical to
what I was hearing last night, April 10 at 0100 on 9395. I am afraid
that listeners abroad may not appreciate the baggage and credibility
issues Steve Bannon drags with him into WRP, one who bears
considerable responsibility for the presence of the ignorant,
incompetent, forever-impeached acting president Drumpf (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, April 10 at 0553, R. Rebelde is S9+20/30 but
JBM/suptorted. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba; 5040 RHC in
English at same signal level and with usual squealy defective
modulation but readable. Something`s always wrong at RHC.

5025, April 11 at 0217 check, now it`s off, let us hope for
much-needed repairs; while 4765 R. Progreso and 5040 RHC remain on
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GUATEMALA. 4055, April 11 at 0218 check, R. Verdad is off; despite
local noise level of S9+20, I should be able to detect at least a
carrier. A ``Good`` Friday thing? The perennial question: should pious
broadcasters transmit more, or less, upon holy days? (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6931-USB, April 10 at 2323, pirate music S7-S8, 2326
W&M folksong with guitar; 2330 DJ maybe ID but caught only
``all-natural radio``, more music to close; 2342 another announcement,
being heard in northern New England; long reverb repeats every few
words. 2344, ``Yeti Radio signing off``, another song, still going
until 2350*. Oops, just a break, soon back on. More logs here:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,65375.0.html
I thought I heard some John Prine, as did others;

End of log above for Free Radio Weekly with 0000 UT deadline nigh. But
this station really keeps going: 2357, mentions Walmart, cut off for
music. April 11: 0009 announcement; 0023 WALMART plug as others have
noted; 0041 still going but frequent cut-outs. Without a carrier we
keep getting faked out that they`ve pulled the plug. 0110 ``gonna keep
goin` for a helluva long time``, ``Here Comes the Sun`` song to 0121*
apparently final stop (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6880-USB, April 10 at 2324, another pirate with
music at S5-S6. Many more logs here again as Radio 48:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,65371.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SAUDI ARABIA. 15434.985, April 10 at 1518, poor signal in Arabic;
also seems to be a weaker carrier low-hetting closer to 15435.000, but
nothing else is scheduled. Not even KSA is in HFCC of course, but
Aoki/NDXC shows it at 1450-1700-1800 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, April 10 at 2229, with the Bogotá SDR still running
after monitoring WOR on 9955, I check whether VOT makes it to air
today: yes, poor signal there, but to my surprise it`s the IS and ID
in English, 2230 timesignal and sign-on --- 30 minutes late! A new
something-erroneous at Emirler, unless they have without notice and
inexplicably decided to retime the eastern North American service.
After a few minutes of news, now monitoring direct a bit better, back
to Turkish music fill, except at 2252 a brief spot with the
also-American advice about coping with COVID-19, and back to more
music until cut off the air right at 2300* when presumably only
slightly more than half of today`s broadcast has radiated (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2029 monitoring: confirmed first American
SWBC, Friday April 10 at 2200 on WRMI 9955, VG via Bogotá SDR with no
jamming audible. Since there were some problems with podcasts, I
monitor the whole thing to be sure it`s totally intact; it is.

Also confirmed starting at 0130 UT Sat Apr 11 and ending at 0159 on
all three WRMIs: 5010 VP, 5850 VG, 7780 JBA with erratic uteblasts on
the plus side. Next:

Thanks this week for financial support from Doug Brown of
London, Ontario and Seminole, Florida who sent a US$ cheque
to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US
funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (7490.1v), UT Sat Apr 11, tune-in WBCQ webcast with `Allan &
Angela Weiner WorldWide` in progress, as the couple are axually
arguing about some issue to do with COVID-19. At 0021 the 7490 webcast
goes silent but keeps running connected. So I switch to (5130) Area 51
webcast and hear them still going a little longer, until it too stops,
then several starts and stops; 0024 music fill as the outage is
upline, like between FL and MD or ME. Then 7490 webcast is back while
5130 in music. Maybe they eventually got back together.

Dipping in and out, seems to be same CV19 topic until last few minutes
when he gets into his repair super-power searchlights including
virus-killing UV; they were once used at Cape Canaveral to light up
night launches.

Still not hearing from our regular monitor of AAAWWW, John Carver in
mid-north Indiana; hope it`s only continued computer problems and he
can get a message to us that he`s OK.

Meanwhile, mark your calendar for May 5, per this from A & A April 9:

``Hi Glenn, Radio has been a beacon of hope and a way to spread good
feelings in bad times for over a century. In that spirit, WBCQ The
Planet will present WBCQ's Big Broadcast of 2020 as a special
simulcast on 5130 and 7490 on Tuesday, May 5 from 2200 to 2300 UTC
[presumably meaning 21-22 UT] (5pm-6pm EDT in the US).

This special broadcast will feature the presenters and music of some
of WBCQ's most innovative music offerings including Marion's Attic,
Uncle Bill's Melting Pot, From the Isle of Music, Behavior Night and
the Lost Discs Radio Show. This is a chance to escape that COVID-19
gloom for an hour and maybe discover a new favorite program in the
bargain. Hope you are well and safe, Allan & Angela`` (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5085, April 10 at 0552, WTWW-2 is so weak at only S9/+10
that I can`t hear the spurs on 5072.1 and 5097.9! Since neighbor 4840
WWCR is just as weak, we know the MUF has dropped out, a propagation
problem. The 5830 & 5935 pair are similar at JBA level. 18 hours
later, 5085 is already on and almost up to usual strength with spurs
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 87.9 FM, a church in Detroit is transmitting services to
cars, per a tip from TRMS:

https://www.freep.com/story/life/2020/04/06/metro-detroit-churches-drive-in-coronavirus-pandemic/5100571002/

I haven`t heard it of course, but serves as a reminder to look for
more of these especially over Holy-Day weekend; others might be on AM
or even CB. Michigan is already full of 87.9 pirates, judging from
Harold Frodge`s logs around Midland (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ARGENTINA [non]. 9395, April 10 at 0105, RAE via WRMI with Spanish
in progress instead of English; generic comments by Fernando Farías
about the quarantine situation with regular programming unavailable.

0111 switches to French, soon devoting its time to summary of DX info:
IRRS with schedule of Bannon`s Pandemic show; Catholic station at
Gracias a Dios, Honduras; Radio Cuarentena; letter from a francophone
DX club.

0119 back to Fernando who also does the English segment, from home.
This is the second, apparently once-a-week pandemic program featuring
all the RAE language services. How April 2 is a significant date,
anniversary of the Malvinas War in 1982y; shortened edition of the
normally-Friday 7-10 minute DX Actuality feature: again about War Room
Pandemic, sked via IRRS; Honduras station. President has extended
lockdown in Argentina to April 13.

0127 outro in Spanish gives names of announcers in all 8 languages as
if we have just heard them all, ``Made en/in Casa`` on RAE/Argentina
al Mundo: Italian, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Chinese,
Spanish, English, in that order --- but we`ve heard only three of them
this semihour and I don`t think it started at 0030 tho I was not
listening then, rather to pirates. 0130 WRMI Spanish ID by Dino and
into Radio Prague International in English.

No other WRMI frequencies checked tonight except 5800 just after 0100
when it sounded again like Radio Taiwán Internacional (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15140, April 9 at 1403, RHC is S9+20 but extremely distorted.
15230 and 13700 are OK, VG, no spurs; after 1900 in English, 15140 is
relatively clean today, different transmitter?

11760, April 9 at 1413, RHC is S9-S7 of dead air. Somethings` always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6953-USB, April 9 at 2324, pirate music at S3-S5;
2329 two announcers talking vs high storm noise level from south of
San Antonio and the southern half of Louisiana. ``Virus-19 Radio``,
maybe back tomorrow, maybe not. Radio conditions pretty damn good
tonight, getting up into New England. ``Good night, stay well``,
playing out on ``When I Die`` by Blood, Sweat & Tears until off at
2336*. More logs here with variations on ID with Zeke as host:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,65317.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6880-USB, April 9 at 2326, S4-S6 soul music, 2328
announcement but too much reverb, etc., to copy; blues music. 2337
jive music with some cut-outs, YL ID at first sounds like ``Four AM
Radio`` with hotmail address like that; Mix Radio International ID,
jazz piano; 2342 ID I then realize is ``Cool AM Radio``. More logs:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,65319.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6916-USB, April 10 at 0044, S9 of wild rock, lots of
yelling over the music as if a `live` event rather than any studio
announcements. Past 0100 when I switch to 9395 for Argentina. 0131
recheck still going with more of same hard rock. These say it`s Radio
48 via MRI, having started on 6880-USB but moved to 6916 at 0028:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,65322.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 341-MCW kHz, April 9 at 0613 UT, ND beacon OIN, which is 25
watts from Oberlin, Kansas; as EI Enid is still gone, but there are
loads of others on 341 I would like to hear (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5214-USB, April 10 at 0139, MARS? net mostly with abbr`d
calls, such as 8AM, 8HQ; one full call starting with AAR---; at 0141,
M8A in contact with 8HS, fonetikaly, declaring ``the net is free``.
Next few minutes occasional calls are ``closing stations``. Most
signals weak, a few good (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** AUSTRIA. John Figliozzi replies on the WOR iog to my 6155 log:
``OK, it’s not on HF and it’s not classical music… but those looking
for English language news from Austria will find plenty of it on the
bilingual (German/English) ORF domestic youth network fm4 streamed
over the Internet from: https://fm4.orf.at John Figliozzi`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13650, April 8 at 2329, CRI relay `Portuguese` service of
music only is S9+20/30 but extremely suptorted. Something`s always
wrong at RadioCuba. Why in the world haven`t they just turned off this
failed service months ago? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 6185-, April 8 by 1907 UT, now I can pull a JBA carrier
slightly off-frequency-minus as a 2-megameter day-path remnant of
reactivated XEPPM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 27186, April 8 at 1910 and still 2243 recheck, some lokel
yokel is jamming the prime CB frequency with continuous S9+10 buzz.
Well, there are plenty of other channels, all with zero activity
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, April 8 at 2244, JBA signal presumed VOT active
today. Wonder if something else be erroneous at Emirler, like reduced
power, reception has been so poor lately even when on.

7275, April 9 at 0258, VOT IS & English IDs, fair via Alexandria SDR,
but undermodulated with some hum; timesignal one second late but may
have been internet delay. This time YL instead of usual OM announcer,
opening without full wrong English schedule but only ``this`` is the
1230 on 15450! plus satellite info; something`s always awry at Ankara;
into news of topic-V; 0307 enough already, into Turkish song. At least
no QRhaM to be heard (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2028 monitoring: confirmed Wednesday April 8
at 2100:20 on WBCQ 7490.1v, fair via Alexandria SDR.

Also confirmed UT Thu April 9 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, JBA in storm noise
level from along the Ohio Valley; good via Alexandria VA SDR; and not
via UTwente, now with this bad news in red:

``On April 8, the antenna seems to have developed a defect, so only
very few signals are still detectable. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic,
university buildings are closed, so it is currently unclear if and
when a repair can be attempted.``

WOR 2029 should be ready by early UT Fri April 10 and first American
SWBC at 2200 on WRMI 9955 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5970, April 8 at 2327, S9+10 of dead air; must be WEWN on
early from second Spanish transmitter not scheduled to start until
0000; first one is still on 12050, VP with music. BTW, HFCC shows they
also employ two different antennas, a 206 and a 218 respectively at 5
degrees difference in azimuth, and both 500 kW transmitters run at
only 100. I wonder if they are still operable if desired or affordable
at 500? IIRC they used to be registered as 350 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ALGERIA [non]. 7295, April 8 at 0543, Arabic talk, not Qu`ran, as
RTA via FRANCE is scheduled this hour only. But strangely, also jammed
by rapid tone pips, or carriers beating, measured about 0.7 kHz both
above and below, circa 7294.3 and 7295.7. Nothing else scheduled here
worthy of jamming. Maybe by Ameriham p-o`d over this intrusion? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** AUSTRIA. 6155, April 8 at 0549, classical music at S9/+10, better
signal than usual, but noisy, in the last remnant of SW programming
from this country, the token relay of Ö1 scheduled with 300 kW ND at
0500-0620 except Sat/Sun to 0610. Remember when the end of this used
to include a few minutes of news in English? Not any more.

But I go looking for the website (not included on Hitlist --- Alan?)
and finally find this for today at 7:33-7:52 am local time:
https://radiothek.orf.at/oe1/20200408/600688
Audio and playlist of this `Guten Morgen Österreich` segment starting
with Brahms. The transmission is on the news network but includes bits
of classical music apparently promoting what will be played in full
later (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 7810, April 7 at 2222, JBA talk vs S5-S6 noise level.
Unusual to hear anything here, but yes, it`s one of a multitude of
Sound of Hope frequencies; Aoki/NDXC shows 24 hours including the
single hour in Cantonese at 15-16, 1 kW via Miaoli, Taiwan site and of
course *jammed, surely what I am hearing instead, CNR1.

Looking for any other E Asian signals on 7 MHz band, finds JBA talk on
7395, which could be CNR2 via Xianyang 594 site or CRI Chinese via
Urumqi, EAST TURKISTAN, land of imprisoning and brainwashing Uyghurs.

This week`s FRONTLINE on PBS is an excellent hour about this issue:
"China Undercover" New, 4/07/2020, Season 37 / Episode 18,
Investigative, Documentary, Politics, Public Affairs, Social Topic

"Frontline" delivers a special undercover report from China's
secretive Xinjiang region, where the communist regime has imprisoned
masses of Muslims and is testing sophisticated surveillance technology
on the population. Credits: Will Lyman (Narrator)

Also streamable, 54+ minutes:
https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/film/china-undercover/
altho wolfie laments it`s geoblocked from reaching Germany (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6145 >> // JBM 6000, UT Wed April 8 at 0001 tune-in, RHC
English already on amid Arnie on `DXers Unlimited` mit-week edition,
in fact closing at 0002. This segment is normally in the middle of
each English hour, like :25-:35 as in DX/SWL/MEDIA programs. RHC clox
must be way off. Was English axually running on these frequencies from
a semihour earlier? At 23-24 it would normally be on 5040 & 11880. Did
not get around to checking whether subsequent repeats were also askew,
at 01-07. Following DXUL, report from Puerto Rico on the COVID 19
situation there. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** MEXICO. 6185, April 7 at 2211, no trace of even JBA carrier from
XEPPM. Manuel Méndez, Spain had reported it:

``6185, Radio Educación, Ciudad de México, back on air, heard
1820-1830, 06-04 via SDR Kiwi remote receiver in Brownsville, South
Texas, identification and songs.``

6185, April 8 at 0001, now I have a carrier, just barely? modulated,
as so often before.

6185, April 8 at 1725, I myself tune the Brownsville SDR, courtesy of
TWR, and find a fairly good and well-modulated signal in Spanish,
interview about economy, water supply in Mexicali, class warfare, 1730
song break, slightly off-frequency-minus as usual; which has to be
XEPPM during its secret daytime broadcast; why can`t they do so well
at night? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Convoluted tropo blobs over OK forecast by Bill Hepburn,
so I bandscan from 1513 UT April 8: Lots of BAD signals on open
channels including RF 45, no doubt KOTV Tulsa, but only two are
decoding, from Tulsa market:

RF 28, 44-1 Ion
RF 20, 19-1 KQCW-HD during Dr Oz show. This one in solid until finally
starts to break up and lose out at 1705 UT. And BTW has *no*
subchannels, unusual waste of spectrum but assures its only program
can be as HD as possible (GLenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, April 7 at 2211, VP signal from VOT, JBA talk,
unusable but at least is on today. Alan Roe reported to WOR iogroup:

``Programming on the Voice of Turkey (at least in the English service,
I've not checked other languages yet) seems to be reduced to a 5
minute news programme and a repeat of "Turkey's Tourist Attractions"
with the rest of the 50/55 minutes comprising Turkish music without
announcements. Noted today (7 April during 1230 transmission on 15450
kHz) and also a couple of times over recent days when checked. I'm
assuming another casualty of the Covid-19 pandemic. Alan Roe,
Teddington, UK`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2028 monitoring: last two SWBCs:
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. What`s really on WRMIs, UT Wed Apr 8 at 0100?

5010 // 5850, music with BB IDs, Oldies?
5800, Taiwan in Spanish, maybe new show but missed hearing date
9395, RAE in Spanish only here; maybe to be multilingual
9455, Hal Turner
9955, Wavescan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330, April 8 at 1359-1400+, no signal from WLCR via WBCQ,
nor on 13590 now registered starting at 1400. Are they keeping trying
to get the 500 kW monster to QSY?

9330, April 8 at 1708, now it`s on and audible but VP in English. Hard
to believe it`s even half-power 250 kW at 300 degrees as registered if
it were on 15105 at 15-19.

Neither WBCQ nor WLCR make it easy to find their basic SW schedule!
Finally reached this:
https://www.worldslastchance.com/wlc-radio-broadcast-schedule.html
which shows nothing but 9330 for unnamed WBCQ, but also what we know
is via Woofferton UK, in Arabic:
18-21 on 9800, 21-24 on 6015

Haven`t looked at AW`s twitfeed lately: just generic promotion;
hunkered down in FL and lately working on high-power spotlights,
another of his passions; and promoting UV light to kill virus (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15555-USB, April 7 at 2216, WJHR gospel huxter is still on
past 2200 but even propagating at S5 level; must benefit from a bit of
HF sporadic E (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.97-CUSB, April 7 at 1420 tune-in past 1435+, JBA
carrier direct over the almost all-water path from Esperanza to Enid,
as I have not been able to detect for some time amid several special
LRA-36 transmissions; it`s about equivalent to 15825 WWCR normal
signal now without any sporadic-E boost.

By 1452 I`m on the Campo Brasil KiwiSDR for poor partially readable
signal: mainly two YL voices, with saludos; 1456 song; 1502 contact
info; then my pause for breakfast of waffle; 1531 music; 1536 echo
feedback announcement, deliberate? more song; 1540 ID, contact info;
1552 fading up a bit stronger, song; 1556 full ID, and bit of English
in a song about telephone; 1603 sounds like an old-time-radio clip,
1606 gone and apparently not coming back. Anyway, used up my 60-minute
per day limit on this SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. Correxion: the UT Friday time is 2005 not 2300; fixed:
Updating WORLD OF RADIO times on World FM, and webcasts, with DST off
in NZ as of April 5: all shifted one real UT hour later to: Thursday
0930 and 2300 UT; UT Friday 2005. Unfortunately due to my current
produxion schedule on Thursdays, the first two airings there are
almost a week old. Lots of other good programming; see:
http://www.worldfm.co.nz/sched-db.php?offset=0
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SCOTLAND [non]. Correcting date on this: April 5, not 6, fixed:
5850 // 5010, UT Sun April 5 at 0100-0200, `Encore`
classical music reconfirmed on both WRMI frequencies...
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 11670, April 5 at 2152+, I mentioned as a poor signal of RHC
among others --- but as noted by wb and HFCC, Spain is now on 11670 in
A-20 like previous A-seasons instead of 11685 in Bs, for Africa. Not
clear yet whether Cuba have totally left 11670, or at least not
overlapping with Spain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TAIWAN [non]. 7780 // 9395 // 5010, UT Tue April 7 at 0201, RTI
Spanish on three WRMI frequencies, but 5800 has gone off. Opening
announces that it`s the test program for Tuesday March 17!! Still
nothing new on these relays. All programs (ahem) should announce
original recording or airdates so we can keep track of them. Usual
delayed start following fragment of BZ ID and about a minute of music
before off-timesignal and opening. Subject already COVID 19
originating in Hubei province, ``continental China``, refuting Big Lie
that it`s a ``People`s Republic`` rather than a Commie dictatorship.

BTW, Dr Fauci, it`s Hoo-bay, not Hoo-by, but everything else he says
is of the greatest reliability. Should you rely on forever impeached
acting president Drumpf instead of him, you`ll be SORRY or even dead
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 359-MCW kHz, April 7 at 0622 UT, ND beacon SDR, which is 25
watts from Snyder, Texas, NW of Sweetwater, on US 84 toward Post and
Lubbock; 495 km away.

251-MCW kHz, April 7 at 0627 UT, NDB ID as AM, which is 100 watts from
Amarillo TX; seldom logged here at 400 km. Still gone is Stillwater
OK, SW from 255 (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2028 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday April 7
at 0100 on WRMI 7780, good via UTwente SDR in Holland. Next:
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) see also NEW ZEALAND

** U S A. 7780, UT Tue April 7 at 0130, WRMI with a ``pilot program``
of music; intro gives what sounds like a callsign to be looked up on
FB --- but not if you can`t be sure of the letters or join the
disgraced group. Maybe WVZJ or something fonetikaly similar. Also
promises a ``surprise`` at the end of the program, so I retune at 0157
and hear nothing but music, until, surprise, cut off for Rudy Espinal
ID at 0159.5. What is this? I heard the same thing exactly two weeks
ago on UT Tue March 24. WRMI skedgrid shows Wavescan at 0130 Tue not
only on 5010 // 5850 as reconfirmed, but also 7780 which is the way I
entered it on DX/SWL/MEDIA programs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Level 5 strong tropo bullseye right over central OK
predicted by Hepburn, so I hasten to bandscan, April 7 from 1545 UT.
Almost all ``open`` DX channels have a BAD signal on them, in the
repack range, plus 45 no doubt still KOTV Tulsa; except nothing on 34
and 9; and two `local` OKC channels are BAD, caused by DX QRM, 7 and
15. 15 would most likely be KSNW Wichita, ex-45. 7: full-powers still
exist in Hays and Pittsburg KS; Amarillo, Austin, Odessa, Tyler TX
plus numerous low-powers; nothing in OK except KOCO.

I sit on RF 32 which shows signs of reaching decode threshold, and it
does briefly at 1620, with a CW 33 bug in LR, and PSIP as 33-1 KDAF-DT
--- that`s 780 kW in Dallas TX; gone before I can check out its
subchannels.

RF 26, April 7 at 1625, this one decodes as 24-1 FOX, which isn`t very
helpful, but must be 350 kW from the opposite direxion, KSAS-TV
Wichita; subs are 24-2 TBD and 24-3 Comet; contrary to W9WI.com which
has 24-2 as GetTV. The only other 24-1 Fox on RF 26 is Macon GA, no
way here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
