Wednesday from LRA36 into four Brazilian remotes checked. Some editors
will throw this out as an insignificant non-log: I maintain its
absences are at least as significant as its appearances, and should be

** CUBA [and non]. 9805, April 6 at 0621, wall-of-noise jamming
against nothing in response to R. Martí reactivated here for A-22 but
only at 10-13! Now also various jam levels against nothings on 7435,
7375, 7355, 7335, 6030 WON; 5980 vs the WWCR leapfrog mixing product
of WWCRs 5890 TOMBS over 5935 DGS/PMS another 45 kHz beyond,
fundamentals so strong that the ghostly voice of BS can be heard on
5980 mixed with jamming (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6165, April 6 at 0635, the only RHC frequency left, S9+10/20
of undermodulated English. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn

** EGYPT [and non]. 9439.995, April 6 at 2204, R. Cairo, S9+25/30 into
UTwente, English news mostly readable if you concentrate against the
distortion and humwhine. Yet I decline.

Ex-9900 is occupied by CNR1 echo jamming against another Chinese
signal, i.e. RTI, April 6 at 2205, S9+30 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GREECE [non]. 9420, April 6 at 1656, I tune for VOG to catch it
going off at 1700 like yesterday? Good signal into UTwente, S9+15, but
music at 1658 and announcement are *not* Greek. EPT is already off
uncovering CNR13. No timesignal but mentions ``Radiostantsiyom`` so
Russian-influenced, like Kazakh as some have guessed? 1702 ``Burasi``
as in a Turkic language, ``this is``, like Uyghur as listed. 1703
onward lots of talk.

Alan Roe, Teddington, UK, reports to the WOR iog: ``A later start
today (6 April) for V of Greece - observed crashing-on at 1417 UT
(9420 kHz).`` Christos Rigas, Wood Dale IL, replies: ``Late start was
most likely due to general strike in Greece today. Broadcast employees
were on strike which ended at 1300 UT today. And abruptly off at 1647.
Short shift for the two ERT employees at Avlida today``

``The closure of the analog broadcast of the Voice of Greece has been
delayed, even temporarily. With a decision taken last Wednesday and
signed by ERT CEO George Gabritsos, the public radio and television
announced that at the request of the Ministry of Defense, the Avlida
shortwave broadcast centre will remain active until May 31, when
re-evaluating the conditions for further continuation or not of its
operation.

In an earlier decision, ERT had stated that its broadcast on shortwave
would end yesterday, March 31, and had addressed the Ministries of
Foreign Affairs and Defense “to decide whether they want the
continuation of the shortwave broadcasts, as well as the acquisition
of ownership and the operation of the shortwave operation at their own
risk“.

711, 846, 882, 1107; likely resp.: Morocco, Kiritimati, Canary

UNIDENTIFIED. 11620, April 6 at *1500, mystery Protestant broadcast in
English on air abruptly and I do not catch any ID. It`s S7/S8 into
Missouri SDR; program theme at O&C is hymn ``Blessed Assurance``.
Gospel huxter starts mentioning wildfires at Colorado Springs as if
current or recent. There may be lots of them, but quick search implies
the last major event was December 22, 2021. Goes on to discuss and
instruct on how to pray and how much -- plenty. From visual
references, this is soundtrack of some TV program.

At UTwente it`s S8/9+10 on 11620.001. At Bandung SDR it`s S8/S9. 1510
I attempt some TDOAs: Brisbane/Perth/Bandung lead to -35.80, +118.20,
which is in the Indian Ocean just off the SW tip of Australia near
Albany WA: no, but I am still suspecting RBA Kununurra in NW WA. At
least I find the signal widely audible: S9+10 into Half Moon Bay, CA;
S9/+10 into Kuwait. At 1525, S Korea/Kuwait/Perth lead to somewhere
deeper into the Indian Ocean.

At 1527 the Blessed Assurance theme again, a couple bits of other
tunes, closing with contact info or ID as VOMKorea, off at 1529.7* in
time for Vatican crash start Arabic at *1530.

Mauno Ritola was also listening: ``I can't catch the beginning of the
email address, either. Attached. 73, Mauno``

I reply: ``On your recording the word before @ sounds like Maldives as
unlikely as that seem, or maybe Mouthpiece?`` Meanwhile I have

on today, S9+20/30 into UTwente, Greek music and talk, mentions Franz
Kafka; but CCCCCCI audible under. Scheduled now per Aoki are both CNR6
via Beijing site, and CNR13 Lingshi site and both in Chinese. 1559 VOG
IS & ID, more of same next hour until abruptly cut off at 1700 before
any IS & ID, so the day shift is over, and may not return for evening
nor especially overnight = prime time in North America. And thus
audiblizing:

9420, April 5 at 1700, ERT off uncovering what sounds like an NA and
non-Greek talk, in a Turkic language. Again fitting like heard
yesterday as CNR13 in Uighur via Lingshi 725 site, which is between
Beijing and Xian, far from target East Turkistan, land of imperialist
Chicom genocide against Uyghurs. Continues indoctrination talk with
brief music breaks past 1725; and heavy splash from musix on 9410 &
9425. 1727, 9420 itself plays part of one of the ChiCom martial
anthems, and more talk. 1800 recheck now music only until 1805* as

S9+40, while the other three are modulating but much weaker, even 3215
which ought to be low enough not to be reduced by propagation. No one
is paying attention at 1300 WWCR Ave (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9940, April 5 at 1445, WTWW with gospel-huxtering in
English, not Ukrainian or rock music today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 11620, meant to get here before 1500 April 5 to check
out mystery gospel-huxtering in English, but not until 1525, when it`s
only S9 into UTwente with big splash from 11610 CRI East Turkistan.
1528 hymn and 1529* off. But just before 1530 it`s back on or
something is giving e-mail @VOMKorea.com. That`s a big clue. Huge
VATICAN in Arabic does not crash-start 11619.995+ until *1530.

VOM Korea is Voice of Martyrs. Cannot find anything on their website
about SW broadcasts! Hit EN icon and it stays in Korean! Altho
primarily for Korea, HQ in the South, this ministry also goes
elsewhere including India and Africa where English might be useful.
WRTH 2022 shows no such broadcasts on page 518, just three Koreans via
Tashkent, including 1530-1600 daily on 7530 in B-21. Perhaps 11610 now
replace that? But no good with Vatican on it. Unless before 1530 I had
a totally different station. Still no listings in latest HFCC dated
April 5, nor Aoki, nor EiBi, nor in Feb WRTH B21 Updater. When I
recheck 11620 at 1635, Vatican is finished, and nothing else.

Coincidentally just in from Ivo Ivanov, April 5:
``UZBEKISTAN Frequency changes of Voice of Martyrs via RRTM Tashkent
1530-1600 NF 7530 TAC 100 kW / 076 deg to NEAs Korean Daily ex 7525``
but nothing about 11620. And also:

11620 or at this time on RBA sked, but shows the VOM program could be
relayed elsewhere, and yesterday`s signal on 11620 was good enough to
