WORLD OF RADIO HITLIST UPDATE Oct 25
Hi Glenn, my latest Hitlist update. http://www.w4uvh.net/hitlist.htm 1) Change of DST - Amended Time-Zone offset notations for Croatia, Germany (HCJB, HLR), New Zealand, Romania, Spain (REE) 2) Japan - NHK R Japan: Amended link to programme page on website 3) Palau - Hope Radio: Added links for this new station 4) USA - WBCQ: Added link to Area 51/61 skeds courtesy of Larry Will's webpage (via Glenn Hauser in WOR iog mail list) and updated webstream links for 7490 and Area 51 webcasts 5) USA - WMLK: Updated links to WMLK home page and streaming site The next update will be early November to update Time-Zone offset notations for the Americas. Best wishes and 73 (Alan Roe) DX/SWL/MEDIA PROGRAMS UPDATE Oct 26 http://www.worldofradio.com/dxpgms.html WORLD OF RADIO SCHEDULES UPDATE Oct 25 http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html ** COLOMBIA? 4940, Oct 26 at 0338, anonymous mystery missionary station is still going, VG into Bonaire SDR, gospel huxter in Spanish. One does not want to waste time listening to him in hopes of a definite explicit full ID, but we shall be grateful if anyone determine whence this axually emanate (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** INDIA. Re my not hearing final minutes of AIR Jaipur: ``Hello Glenn, AIR Jaipur went off SW as scheduled at 1751 UTC. Delhi & Jaipur may be in skip at that time for 4910. Even Hyderabad was in skip with them then but I could hear only a very faint carrier which went off at 1751 UTC. Yours sincerely, Jose Jacob, VU2JOS, National Institute of Amateur Radio, Hyderabad, India`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KOREA NORTH. Re: ``UNIDENTIFIED. 6170.090, Oct 25 at 1355 and still 1448, JBA off-frequency carrier as I hunt for RNZI, which I later find from 1259 has moved from 6170 to 6115 as of October 26. Tentative B-20 HFCC even shows Bangladesh at 13-14 on 6170! Most likely this be KOREA NORTH, VOK with PBS relay to Europe as per Arnulf`s B-20 schedule (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)`` Oct 25 - Heard VOK at 1225, on 6170.08 (Glenn's measurement is probably more accurate) // 6185.0 (which now blocks CHBC/China reception); both with fair reception here on the West Coast. Ron Howard`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 12035, Oct 26 at 1448, weak music and goes off by 1449. Nothing scheduled but my informed theory is: VOT English at 1330-1425 failed to turn off reactivated 12035, and change frequency for Kazakh at 1430-1500 as now B-20 scheduled on 9505. Same thing has happened previously. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2057 monitoring: confirmed UT Monday October 26 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG here on WNW beam. Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 26 at 0130 on WRMI 7780, good at UTwente to the NE. Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 26 at 0230 on WRMI 7780, S8/S9+5 at UTwente where // 5800 is JBA, but S9+10 VG into Bonaire TWR KiwiSDR to the SSE. Also confirmed on WRN webcast, already shifted one UT hour later Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 26 starting at 0308.4 on Area 51 webcast, preceding show running late. Also on WBCQ 6159.94v, S9/+10 at 0329 check direct. Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 26 at 0330 on WRMI 9955, JBA carrier less than the pulse jamming here, but S9/+5 at Bonaire with jamming detectable only during fades. Next: NOTE that previous previews missed the 1-hour-later timeshift already in effect for IRRS. Tentative HFCC confirms and also shows new ACI from 7295 CRI English westward from Urumqi. Vietnam still on 7280. 1901vUT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy 0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 5800 to SSE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 2200 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?] [NEW] 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Contributions to support these non-commercial services may be sent via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily in US funds One may also contribute via money order or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, Oct 26 at 0400, WRMI is still off, closing now after WOR, but supposedly stays on all day instead of missing 9395. 9955, Monday Oct 26 at 1455, is still on S9+10 with TOMBS // 9455. Ditto at 1715 check. 9395 had been nothing but TOMBS or SMTV all day long, so no loss or gain here. 9395, Oct 26 at 1450, this WRMI is making a comeback after several days down: S7-S9 open carrier with weak tone. Off at 1715 check. At 1450 I also have extremely distorted spurblobs circa 9441 and 9486, but can`t relate them to 9395, 9455 or any Cuban. Not there at 1715 check, Possibly a local device (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7490.003, Oct 26 at 0548, surprised to find gospel huxter in English, way later than WBCQ is scheduled, not BS // TOMBS on 7570 WRMI; and too close to on-frequency for Monticello. O, in B-20 HFCC, WHRI has 7490, 250 kW, 47 degrees at 0430-0600, so now it`s a 3-way timeshare with WBCQ and WWCR --- soon to be WBCQ`s, but what callsign will apply to Furman?? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 13650-13655-13660, Oct 26 at 1415, DRM noise on WINB`s new hybrid frequency for B-20, 1200-1700 M-F, ex 15745-15750-15755. The lower half is not traditional DRM noise but secret data stream probably involving high-speed stock trading (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VENEZUELA. 6906.1-RCUSB, Oct 26 at 0339, straining to hear ROCV via Bonaire SDR, can only detect a JBA carrier by USB tuning offset slightly below (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1736 UT October 26

Sunday, October 25 2020
** CUBA. 6100, Sunday October 25 at 0720, RHC in weekly Esperanto still here - tho missing last week per wb. S9+20 with hum. Something`s always wrong at RHC. B-20 changes not there for a couple weeks, post timezone shift in a week, as a Running Dog of Yanqui Imperialism, coördinated with USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** EAST TURKISTAN. 5959.923v: See NETHERLANDS [non] and TURKEY ** FRANCE. 7245, Oct 25 at 0620, Qur`an at S7-S8, something new next to 7255 Nigeria. HFCC B-20 shows it`s RFI this hour, 500 kW at 170 degrees, multilingual across Africa. But I cannot believe RFI would be Qur`aning. ALGERIA would be, but B-20 scheduled this hour only on 6105 for Issoudun relay, plus own imaginaries (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** JAPAN [non]. 6165, Oct 25 at 0625, M&W in Arabic, S9/+10. It`s NHK via FRANCE this semihour, 500 kW at 140 degrees (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NETHERLANDS [non]. 5960, Oct 24 at *2359 shortly after TURKEY has closed, fortunately, rather than another spurious hour in German, which they have not done lately; Nauen carrier for The Mighty farty KBC weekly UT Sunday 00-02 to NAm has come on, making LAH with Xinjiang PBS, Urumqi, now scheduled to start at 2330, and always off-frequency minus. In AMSynch mode, UTwente SDR locates that on 5959.923v, and stays locked to it rather than Nauen closer to 5960.00; levels are roughly equal. I was hearing XPBS as early as 2356 when Turkey went off and unseemed Mandarin until 2358; at 0000, 5+1 timesignal as KBC is also signing on. At 0006 October 25 I check direct reception here and hear only KBC, so that`s what matters to them (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. UNIDENTIFIED: 6925-USB, Oct 25 at 0007, weak S3-S5 pirate music. More logs of this as unID, no guesses: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,73315.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS. 12055, Oct 25 at 1352, S7-S9 tonal language. B-20 USAGM via TINian now scheduled 1330-1430 in Myanmarianese. WEWN Spanish not on 12050 yet till 5970 change at 1400. 9390, Oct 25 at 1402, weak Chinese? No longer Thailand in English here which has moved to 9940; HFCC shows 9390 this hour be USAGM in zho = Chinese via TINIAN (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ROMANIA. RRI B-20 scheduling checked ASAP UT Oct 25, tuning UTwente for English to North America one hour later: 0105, VG S9+30 on 7325 & 6130; 0452 at Maine SDR: 6020 VG and 7410 good but latter with noise out to 7405 and 7415, residual Cuban jamming? (Glenn Hauser, OK WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960, Oct 24 at 2344, VOT English to NAm has already made B-20 seasonal change to 2300 on 5960 instead of 2200 on 9830. HFCC seasons nominally start at 0100 UT Sundays, but it`s already Oct 25 in Turkey --- first log of the season! Via UTwente SDR, Turkish music at S9+10/20; 2349 ID, more music; 2354 YL canned sign-off as if it were still A-20 at 1230 on 15450!! A bit more IS and now I can hear CCI making a LAH from off-frequency-minus Xinjiang PBS Urumqi, East Turkistan, land of cultural genocide by the ChiCom imperialists against the Uyghurs. Continued at NETHERLANDS [non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 6125, Oct 25 at 0403, VOT English to W North America confirmed at new B-20 time and frequency, news to 0405, then that COVID-19 PSA and music. Checked via Maine SDR, where there is noise in the 6120-6130 range, presumed still Cuban jamming against Martí which finishes 6125 in B-20 at 0400, too close for comfort! 0400 is the final repeat of the original now 1330 UT VOT English; make that ``olds``. Speaking of which, Oct 24 circa 1323, had a JBA carrier on the last day of the real 15450 broadcast from 1230. Oct 25 at 1352, B-20 reactivation of 12035 from 1330 bears JBA music, not enough yet; aimed for Europe but we be directly beyond (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2057 monitoring: not checked Sat Oct 24 at 2300 on WRMI 7780, since sked shows without notice it has been replaced. Confirmed UT Sunday October 25 at 0324 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, S9+20 direct, about 8 minutes into so started circa 0316. Next: 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW 0130 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE 0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE, 5800 to SSE 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 61 to WSW 0330 UT Monday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 1800vUT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy 0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 5800 to SSE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 2200 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?] [NEW] 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Contributions to support these non-commercial services may be sent via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily in US funds One may also contribute via money order or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085, UT Sun Oct 25 at 0017, WTWW-2 starting `TOUTA`, distorted as usual here but this week I bring up the $ tereo webcast. Bob Heil is playing recordings of deceased colleagues` performances, including some pre-echo audible during a pause, which means it`s print-thru on a reel-to-reel tape. 0048 as soon as some applause start, WTWW hastily cuts to ID and back to rock music, whew! Enough of that theatre organ stuff (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 5945, Oct 25 at 1356 and 1448, JBA carrier as I am hunting for RNZI in B-20. HFCC shows something from UZBEKISTAN for Pan American [sic] Broadcasting, like Tony Alamo? at 13-14 but on day 7 = Saturday only and this is Sunday (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 6170.090, Oct 25 at 1355 and still 1448, JBA off-frequency carrier as I hunt for RNZI, which I later find from 1259 has moved from 6170 to 6115 as of October 26. Saturday, October 24 2020
** SWEDEN. (17.2 kHz VLF), it`s United Nations Day, Oct 24, 2020, and time for another broadcast of SAQ in Grimeton, Sweden, 200 kW via the historic Alexanderson Alternator.
https://alexander.n.se/saq-grimeton-transmission-on-october-24th-2020/?lang=en I know I can`t get it direct, so monitor the event via their live YouTube stream which was to start at 1430 UT. After breakfast, I bring it up at 1449. A woman MC is speaking but we can`t hear a word she says, drowned out by the huge noises of the machinery. And there is no captioning. Perhaps in Swedish so I could not understand her anyway. But as a camera wanders around, we have great views in the hall, not only of the AA but associated stuff, huge control panels with lots of switches and meters. At 1451, we can barely hearsee a test transmission as the relays are clicking and flashing, VVV DE SAQ. 1453, a man is talking but again unhearable; at 1454 a full test ID, VVV VVV VVV DE SAQ SAQ SAQ. 1456, camera goes outside for a quieter view of the antenna towers, 1457 back inside, still noisy. The few people in the hall are not masked, but some are wearing ear mufflers. 1500, the official transmission starts as we see the operator keying with his right hand. Cannot hear it! But sporadic views of the readout on a nearby laptop. Website says ``We are proud to announce that this year’s message has been composed by Anders Tegnell – Chief Epidemiologist Public Health Agency of Sweden.`` I notice one error in the display, missing a dit, ``ewidemiologist``. This runs until 1509. Of course he is warning about COVID-19. Disappointingly, at no time during the broadcast could we see any motion by the AA, just its huge black casing. Noise starts to diminish; 1511 finally we have a view of AA shafts still spinning, running down? Some of these look cupric, while exteriors are all painted black. 1511.5 a bell rings. 1512 can overhear a bit of conversation in Swedish, again at 1516. 1518 noise finally stops completely, turned off. A concert of song by soprano and keyboard accompaniment has been scheduled for 1520. At 1527 several audience members start to take their seats --- do not see any masks. MC speaks off-mike. Mike for singer appears to be for PA in the very echoey hall, not direct connect to camera, so we are picking them up out of the loudspeakers, never a good idea. Most of the songs seem to be in Swedish, but at 1545, one in English which I still cannot understand. YT shows only 400 viewing, but declining toward 300 as time goes on. Music ends at 1558; back outside at 1559 for another view of the towers and a fountain; finishes at 1601*. I assume this sesquihour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OErGFaT1esI will remain available indefinitely for later audioviewing, just like the previous half-sesquihour from July 5, 2020 which then started autoplaying unbidden. Meanwhile I was observing the live ``top chat`` sidebar, indicating lots of people were trying to hear 17.2 kHz, some successfully, or at least via UTwente. A few selected items: ``Pop Tibi: yes the frequency drifts a bit, depending on the load on the alternator's driving motor David J.C. CORTVRIENT: NO MASKS 😬 be carrefull PLEASE David Newkirk: Long live the UN! Long live SAQ! David Newkirk: Karl-Arne: How much mains power v VLF output? David Newkirk: Radio as Art, and now Art after Radio. Glenn Hauser: Tnx for streaming this as far as Oklahoma. Hello, David Newkirk Phil Erickson: @Glenn Hauser --- Thanks for decades of DX and SW listening reports - still receiving through WOR. W1PJE David Newkirk: Hi, Glenn! World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station: Stay tuned for a concert with live music, when Anna-Louise Ekman perform beautiful tones in the transmitter hall. Later on, we will also start the laser art work "Transmission". [I missed that!] World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station: Due to the non working microphone, Managing Director Camilla Lugnet´s speech will be posted in the comments after the transmission.`` This ended just in time for me to catch Independent Lens, which I also recommend if you can find it via PBS: ``Independent Lens - Feels Good Man #2202 - OETA WORLD - DESCRIPTION: Follow artist Matt Furie, creator of the comic character Pepe the Frog, as he begins an uphill battle to take back his iconic cartoon image from those who use it for their own purposes [such as Alex Jones]. Duration: 1:26:46`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2057 monitoring: slept thru Sat Oct 24 at 1130 on WRMI 9955 - did anyone hear it? Confirmed, Sat Oct 24 at 1318 the 1300 on WRMI 15770, S9+10 but with hum, and modulation rather than signal seems to be fading down at times. Next: 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 2300 UT Saturday WRMI 7780 to NE 0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0400] 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW 0130 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE 0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE, 5800 to SSE 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 61 to WSW 0330 UT Monday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 1800vUT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy 0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 5800 to SSE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 2200 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?] [NEW] 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Contributions to support these non-commercial services may be sent via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily in US funds One may also contribute via money order or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9395, I have not yet rechecked this WRMI myself, fortunately not affecting WOR, but on the WOR iog October 24: ``Subject: [WOR] WRMI 9395 kHz Update ---- As posted to the WRMI FB page: "0530 UTC Friday October 23 - Update on WRMI Transmitter 6 (9395 kHz). Our engineers repaired the capacitor problem and we were able to get the transmitter back on the air. Unfortunately it appears that the power surge which caused the initial problem also damaged something in the modulator section, which means the audio is extremely distorted. They are continuing to track down that problem. In the meantime, we are moving the programs that are normally on 9395 kHz from 2200-0100 UTC over to the nearby frequency of 9455 kHz, and we are extending our schedule on 9955 kHz to 1200-0400 UTC." -- Richard Langley`` Bob Biermann, GA, replies: ``I have been on the phone, and this one is not going to be easy to fix. Many of the parts are no longer available, and it may take a reworking of the audio section. For those that think that these units are easy to fix, or can be affordably replaced, they can’t. This type of problem may take a few days to a few weeks to resolve`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4980, Oct 24 at 0535, no trace of WRMI, and not for some time, I realize as I ponder the JBA carrier on 5040. Altho not on its skedgrid, WRMI had been running 4980 QRP, maybe exciter only, sometimes with music modulation detected (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085, Oct 24 at 0533, WTWW-2 with S9+40 of dead air, along with JBA parasitic spurs about 5072 & 5098 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 5040, Oct 24 at 0534, JBA carrier in absence of RHC which has been off all evening. May be same one heard at 0030 which could have been India, but certainly not now. Not Vanuatu either. Possibly RHC with exciter only of a few watts; some utility; or who knows? ** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey, our morning Oct 23 at 1357: 11460 Chinese with flutter; 11100 S3; 11070 & 10870 JBA until 1400* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey around our sunset here, Oct 23 at 2338: 6865, Chinese S6-S8 with flutter. After pirate check, so then I seek others graylinish, JBA carriers or JBA u.o.s., from 2346: 9155, 9180, 9215, 9280; 2348: 9300 S6-S9; 2351: 13530 S7-S9; 13130, 13070; 12870 S3-S4; 12835, 12820; 12500 S5-S6; 12365, 12210. 2356: 11500, 11440, 11170, 11120; 11100 S7-S8; 11070 S9+10; 10870, 10820. Almost/all of these are Aoki-listed SOH *jammed frequencies. I did not have time to search above 14 MHz where more do reside (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11845, Oct 23 at 1439, residual noise jamming on an ex-Radio Martí daytime frequency, long-gone for how many years now? Other broadcasters should beware if they think it`s available. Maybe they are, for Aoki shows nothing but CNR2 at 00-11, the ChiCom being cool anyway with jamming (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 4765, Oct 24 at 0033, as soon as I tune in Radio Progreso music it dumps off the air, back on at *0034.6, and now I also find the extremely distorted but not very strong spurblob circa 4782, but not much to match at minus 17 = 4748. Nor do I hear any Huanta on 4764 even while RP was off. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba. See also INDIA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** INDIA. 4910, Oct 23 at 1745, no AIR Jaipur, nothing but noise to New Delhi SDR. Closed down earlier? The only other Kiwi in India, Bengaluru, keeps blocking me for having used it more than 180 minutes per day while I have really used it zero. I was checking for the last minutes ever of AIR Jaipur, as Jose Jacob, dx_india, had warned Oct 22: ``Subject: AIR Jaipur - Last day on SW tomorrow 23 Oct 2020 All India Radio, Jaipur in Rajasthan is ending their SW transmissions tomorrow ie 23 Oct 2020 at 1751 UTC (11.21 pm IST). Their schedule of the 50 kW tx which was installed in 1992 is: 4910: 0025-0430, 1130-1751 UTC; 7325: 0630-0930 UTC`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** INDIA. 5040, Oct 24 at 0023, open carrier of S7-S9, certainly not CUBA which is OFF, compared to 5025 Rebelde at S9+20. Fits for AIR Jeypore, 50 kW, starting at 0026 per VU2JOS schedule; however no modulation detected past 0030. I was hoping for at least a trace of the lovely AIR IS. Now and then hit by ``running water`` ute QRM. BTW, WRMI will no longer have to worry about Trivandrum 5010 QRM as Jose Jacob says it`s one of several AIR stations just decommissioned. That leaves Madagascar, and maybe a Cuban leapfrog with 5040 back on, across 5025 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** INDIA. 11560, Oct 23 at 1441, SW/S Asian music, S8-S9+10 with heavy flutter. This is one of our best chances to hear what`s left of the drastically curtailed AIR external service. Constantly updated https://qsl.net/vu2jos/sw/freq.htm shows it`s 500 kW from Bengaluru, 1315-1415 in Dari, 1415-1530 Pushtu; also 0215-0430. Unfortunately no longer carries relay of domestic news in English at 1500; and what`s the azimuth? No AIR in HFCC any more, no angles in WRTH or Aoki or EiBi or VU2JOS. Must be roughly to the NW; in 2017 had a 320 degree on another frequency while 11560 was via Goa (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6955-USB, Oct 23 at 2337, pirate music, S9 but distorted with parlato, ``Dread Zeppelin``? Discussed in WOR iogroup: ``USA. Message just posted on the WRMI Facebook page: "1915 UTC Tuesday October 20 - WRMI's Transmitter 6 (9395 kHz) is temporarily off the air due to a blown capacitor and some other minor damage. Our engineers are working to get it back on the air, but we may need some parts, so it could be tomorrow before it gets back on the air. We apologize for the inconvenience, and thanks for your patience." Alan Roe, Teddington, UK`` [non] ``WRMI's current absence on 9395 kHz is allowing good reception of Radio Thailand on 9390 kHz. Currently audible October 21, 2020 from 1312 UTC tune in finishing up English broadcast. ID "Radio Thailand broadcasting from Bangkok" in English at 1315 UTC then into Chinese language program with male announcer. Currently S-3 peaking to S-5, SINPO = 34333. Mike Newland, Morgantown, KY`` [non non] Last I heard from the site was that part of the problem is fixed, but there are still issues. Maybe tomorrow. There is only ONE engineer on site for 14 transmitters and 23 antenna systems, and he is only part-time and semi-retired. The engineering situation is getting grim in this business, as we are all aging out. If I was in Florida I could help, but we are at out Mountain Home until after Christmas.`` -- Bob Biermann, YWS, northern Georgia, Oct 21. You would think one of the otherwise idle transmitters could substitute, but maybe not serviceable, feasible, or worth the trouble. Certain transmitters only connect to certain antennas, so even if retuned to 9395, it might have to emit in a `wrong` direxion (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2057) ** U S A. 6159.912 & 7490.061, UT Sat Oct 24 at 0003, both WBCQs are about equally sufficient for `AAAWWW`, ``WTO`` theme ending and AW opening show teasing? listeners about how gorgeous his half-naked wife is in the 84-degree studio; I cannot think of any other radio host who always begins thus. She is to him a welcome distraxion, but more seriously they complain about distracted drivers; and hear from someone who sadly sold his Harley rather than risk them. Then discussing the centennial of regular broadcasting by KDKA, but also WWJ Detroit, apparently reading an entire article from a September Radio World past 0030. By 0039 more technical about `BCQ: He loves meters and insisted Continental install them, maybe for the last time, on the 500 kW. All the old transmitters are tube-type and one has 18 meters on it, so he can view directly what any stage is doing.
