Hauser
** CANADA. 2749-USB, Dec 21 at 2317 UT, Coast Guard marine weather,
like températures, by French roboyl, S7 vs S5-S6 noise level, earlier
than usually heard. And same also on 2598-USB // but about one second
ahead of 2749, as checked on second receiver. At 2327 a `securité`
item. Per dxinfocentre.com [not .ca], both just started at 2317:
2598 2317 VBQ-22 NATASHQUAN (ESCOUMINS) FF/EE 600 50 09 06, -61 47 42
2749 2317 VCN ESCOUMINS FF/EE 600 47 21 28, -61 55 30
VCN is in the Îles de la Madeleine/Magdalen Islands; VBQ-22 almost due
north on Québec mainland, 600 watts each. Most of the 2598s are in NL,
further and weaker than the 2749s (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 540-, Dec 22 at 0137, ``Jingle Bell Rock``, in English from
dominant station on caradio with fast SAH; then a carol in Spanish.
Fits for XEWA, SLP2, in mwoffsets as 539.973 kHz (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Our annual tour of Enid Xmas sound and light shows UT
December 22, 0100-0200+. The ``singing Xmas trees`` were not deployed
this year in the oil well lot on the NE corner of Oak and Oakwood,
darkness, and on 89.5, silence.

The residence in the Pheasant Run addition on the west edge of Enid is
doing it again, on 94.9 MHz, with 97.7 usurped by a non-Part 15.

More impressive is one transmitting on 87.9 in the lakeside addition
of NW Enid right across Purdue from 960 KGWA site. Must be really
low-power Part 15, as not full quieting parked right across its
street; and the sign showing the frequency is poorly visible. Rest of
the neighborhood is not lit up as much as previous years, wonder why?
This one is at 3815 Rockwood, very elaborate flashing lights
coördinated with music and a separate video loop of Santa and elf
activities in a window. As long as we linger at either locale, nary a
sacred carol to be heard, just secular/rock/funny songs, nothing more
traditional than `Carol of the Bells` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, Dec 21 at 2310, no sign from VOT English to N
America; something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2065 monitoring: confirmed Monday
December 21 from 1900.7 on IRRS, 7290 via Bulgaria, via UTwente, good
signal but always inevitable splash from 7280 Vietnam and 7295 East
Turkistan, the latter already on at 1857 with CRI Chinese language
lesson for English buffer. Tuned in at 1856.5 to open carrier, some
hum and splash; 1859.9 IRRS ID, 1900.5 FSN headlines, then WOR. Before
end trying Carlow, Eire Kiwi where there is less splash from 7295 but
still plenty from 7280. Chopped off at 1929.7 before I can finish
saying ``with a stan[dard disclaimer]``. Note: it still applies
whether or not I am allowed to utter it completely.

Confirmed UT Tuesday Dec 22 at 0120 the 0100 on WRMI 7780, fair on
caradio as we are out viewing Xmas lites and sounds.

Not confirmed UT Tue Dec 22 at 0330 on WRMI 5800 tho VG via Bonaire.
At 0329 one episode of `Freedom Synergy Radio` ends and another
starts, the pro-Taiwan, anti-Chicom show which seems to have been
revived, not only at this time. System H sked still shows `Wavescan`
at 0300 and WOR at 0330. Next:

2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
2300 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE [to be pre-empted! for two weeks]

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html

Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support:
thanks this week to Doug Brown, London, Ontario who sent a generous
check in US$ on a US bank to
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA, and comments:
``Thanks for another year of great programs, in what has
otherwise been a dark year full of bad news``

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 900, Dec 22 at 0135 UT, on caradio, dead air above any
other modulation; could it be XEW? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 2580, Dec 21 at 2319 UT, JBA carrier, possibly a second
harmonic of 1290 or third of 860. I often tune the entire 2 MHz band
hunting harmonix, ignoring numerous birdies which land on odd split
channels, but MW harmonix are sparse; used to get a few Latin
Americans as well as Unitedstatesians. The ambient noise level around
here may be obscuring them, even worse tnx to Xmas. I urge those in
quieter locations to seek them, as otherwise propagationally and
lightningly this is peak time of year for 2 MHz DX (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 5785.8 & 5908.0, Dec 21 at 2311, similar level open
carriers which do not seem to be birdies. Nothing midway between them
at 5846.4 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 11905-11910-11915, Dec 21 at 0232, quick check of Bonaire
SDR I have up for WOR, unusually finds NO DRM signal from RNA; must be
off, or experiment over? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 4980, Dec 20 at 2312, JBA carrier --- is it WRMI
maybe on exciter? Or Xinjiang PBS. Quickly check the other three of
the quartet there, 5060, 4850 and 4500 and hear nothing, but right
away at 2313 now JBA talk on 5060, so Urumqi is underway.

However, Ivo Ivanov says he was getting WRMI on 4980 via eastern USA
remotes before and after 0700 UT Dec 21 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 13660.000, Dec 21 at 1705, Alameda Bible Fellowship robotic
readings in English, which sound just like the Word Of God should, as
scheduled by RMI for Issoudun; via UTwente in SAM mode which displays
exact frequency, not offset like 17545 and 15285 in previous hours;
also with signature beepclickerry of one ISS defectransmitter; rather
than Bulgaria (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 13840, Dec 21 at 0657, JBA carrier; just checking for
any propagation from RNZP now that they have extended this further
into our night instead of 11725 or 9700 which might have served us
non-targetees. 13840 currently sked 0559-0758 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 11770-, Dec 20 at 0650, JBA carrier offset minus,
presumably VON on wrong frequency again as missing from 7255- as well
as from 9690-. Ivo Ivanov had it on 11769.9 Dec 19 at 0600-1100.
Strangely, as I am confirming its offfrequenciness without measuring
exactly, on BFO I am also hearing beeps = carrier cutting on and off,
exactly every 13 seconds on about 11770.08. Is this a VON transmitter
artifact or something else? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA [non]. 15285.050V, Dec 21 at 1600, JBA carrier for R.
Manara, as scheduled by RMI via ISSoudun, France. The wobbly
off-frequency continues to raise questions whether it`s really from a
lesser site, such as Bulgaria. I was hoping Ivo could check whether
it`s Secretbrod groundwave to him, even with second harmonic 30570
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also FRANCE

** NORTH AMERICA. 6925-USB, Dec 21 at 2309, only pirate signal now is
S9 with music and later chex, no announcement caught. Also reported by
Chris Gay, KU4A, Kentucky at 2254: ``Just now, UNID 6925 USB with song
"Eye of the Tiger" and Kenny Loggins with "Danger Zone". S6. With luck
he comes back later. I have to shutdown soon to watch my nephew play
hockey.``

Earlier on same frequency he had: ``Radio Noid, 6925 USB, 12-20-20,
2113-2118+ UTC. Nice signal in central Kentucky. Song by The Dead
Milkmen and ID via SSTV. I had to tune away for something else
(Gay-KY).``

But here is a cluesy and more simulog from HFU on 6925 USB Dec 20:
``SIO 222 SINPO 22222 Fades in and out
2306 UTC Happy by Pharrell Williams
2309 Saturday in the Park by Chicago
Heard same loop numerous times
Was Good Time Radio last 13 December 2020 Logged
Chuck Kirkpatrick, Location: Massillon, Ohio (NE Ohio)``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2065 monitoring: NOT confirmed at
new time on Area 51, Sunday December 20 at 2300 on WBCQ 6159.93: VG
much better signal than usual, S9+25/35 continuous rock music,
likewise on the webcast which is in $ tereo [unlike `UBMP` on 7490,
even webcast always seems mono]; still past 2324 and 2330, no HRI
either. Peter Hansen noted the same anomaly. But from 0000.5 Dec 21,
`Radio TimTron Worldwide` starts up as scheduled, saying it`s Dec 19,
from WXNZ-LP Skowhegan, his home station with 2.4 watts on 98.1. Last
week 6160v was not even on the air before 0000, but WOR did run at
least on the webcast. Larry Will later explains:

``I apologize for today's missing hour as my automation system
suffered a rare glitch. I've been working with the station to ensure
that the transmitter comes up on time and will continue to monitor the
situation there. It's been an ongoing problem for some time now. Lw``

WOR 2065 confirmed UT Mon Dec 21 at 0040 the 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG.

Also confirmed UT Mon Dec 21 at 0138 the 0130 on WRMI 7780, good
S9+5/15 into UTWente after having been JBA here and not confirmable.

Also confirmed UT Mon Dec 21 at 0230 on WRMI 5800, VG S9/+10 into TWR
Bonaire SDR; and 7780, S9/+10 to Utwente; and also WRN webcast

Also confirmed UT Mon Dec 21 at 0430 on WRMI 9955, S9+10/20 into
Pardinho, Brasil, SDR altho it`s 1:30 am there. Next:

1900vUT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy

** BRAZIL. 9665.107, Dec 20 at 0213, JBA carrier, no doubt the
always-skewed RVM, but which for several weeks had parked on the minus
side circa 9664.8 or .9. The other offfrequency of R. Voz Missionária
also varies slightly, currently 5939.610, VP. They run 24 hours, often
noted around 0700 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 11520, Dec 19 at 2330, Chinese S9/+10 --- RFA Chinese via
Tinian is scheduled this hour, ergo CNR1 jammer, really strong, so
will more be audible circa 11 MHz? Only // 10820, vs Sound of Hope,
S1-S2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13680 // > 13740, Dec 19 at 2335, RHC Spanish still on both,
as I expected the `European` frequency to be off by now, but Aoki
shows till 2400, while 13740 starts at 2200. 13740 is S9+10/20, while
13680 is stronger and steady S9+20 but with some squeal; as if aimed
thisaway instead of off the side if really toward Europe. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** INDIA. 11560, Dec 20 at 1448, S Asian music but with split-second
breaks in carrier so consequently also in modulation, extremely
irregular but maybe averaging once a second. Soon into talk equally
marred, then relents somewhat. This is AIR Pashto service at
1415-1530, one of the few external service transmitters still active,
listed by Aoki and Jose as Bengaluru, which used to be their #1
high-power SW site; WRTH and Jose show all 5 are nominally 500 kW
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TAIWAN. 9745, Dec 19 at 2320, S7-S9, chimes remind me of HSK9, then
tonal SE Asian language. But Aoki/NDXC shows this hour is RTI in
Vietnamese via Paochung site (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 344-MCW kHz, Dec 20 at 0728 UT, mix of two NDBs, rather
confusing, JL and weaker JA. DXinfocenter.com roster shows indeed JL
as 25 watts in nearby Joplin, Missouri; and JA as 400 watts from farby
Jaxonvile FL. I was tuned to 342-USB. Earlier Dec 19 radar showed
there was a storm front across Mississippi, but now the only lightning
is along a different front in the central Gulf of Mexico, per
Blitzortung, accounting for an occasional crash on LW (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 293-MCW kHz, Dec 20 at 0738 UT, mix of two NDBs: UI which is
30 watts from qUIncy, Illinois; and TOR, 50 watts from TORrington,
Wyoming; I was tuned to 291-USB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2065 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
December 19 ending at 2113.7 UT on WA0RCR 1860-AM, MO, via nearby
KB0FX SDR; tuned in just in time, so started circa 2043 UT.

Also confirmed Sat Dec 19 at 2300 on WRMI 7780, VG S9/+20 to UTwente
SDR, while at 2316 check here off the side, only S6-S8 JBA.

Also confirmed UT Sun Dec 20 starting at 0426:25 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM
via Warrenton MO remote. Next:

2300vUT Sunday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW [new, ex 0400

[last week, SW not on before 0000; webcast only]
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW

** U S A. 5800, UT Sun Dec 20 at 0300, WRMI with publicized special
``pre-Xmas`` broadcast of Texas Radio Shortwave, repeating a show from
last year; S9+20 peaking to +35 via KB0FX SDR in MO for convenience at
the computer, tho am sure it would also be VG direct. Opens with YROT
- ``Yellow Rose of Texas`` theme, this time on belly keyboard, not
orchestral alla marcia. Intro by Third Mate Susan at 0302, with Merry
Xmas, some songs by Texans, some not; QSL offer for detailed reports
via texasradiosw@gmail.com - welcome to the party!

Most of the artists and songs, never announced, are unfamiliar to me,
novelty, or if well-known carols, are jazzed-up versions. I`ll mention
some lyrix copied if not the correct titles.

0304, Mom and dad got drunk at an xmas party;
0308, xmas party song;
0312, xmas in the `60s;
0317, drivin` home for xmas;
0321, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town - jazzed up;
0323, Cap`n Ric speaks from the poop deck - look it up; do you know
what needle skipping is? with sleigh bells in background;
0324, it may be winter outside;
0327, Winter Wonderland, Lawrence Welk style;
0329, something about December;
0334, Jingle Bells, j-u;
0337, Cap`n Ric, sleigh bells, with QSL offer, SSTV [which I am not
set up to copy, ever];
0339, merry xmas with bits of music starting with Frosty the Snowman;
0340, all alone at xmas, Elvis style;
0343, xmas song, my baby`s gone;
0346, ?;
0350, I light a candle;
0353, about reindeer, everybody`s having fun;
0357, merry xmas greet with Frosty again; Susan signing off with eQSL
offer again;
0358, YROT theme, same as opening on keyboard.

I should not have to, but since some places I post delete the line
breaks between times, have added semicolons at end of each line so it
reads better when all crammed together. New TRSW Xmas show to air
exactly six days later, UT Sat Dec 26 at 0300-0400 on 5800. That means
instead of the usual secret prepeat of Encore that week.

This conflicted with another oddball Xmas show with less publicity on
Area 51, 6160v, which I checked briefly, and wished I could also hear,
``Planet Lavender Classic Xmas 1999``. Another followed at 0400, but
then it`s time for `Weekend Radio` on KUCO-FM instead of first airing
I have skipped at 0300 on WCLV (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4980, Dec 20 at 0411 check, NO signal from WRMI here to
Missouri SDR. Bob Biermann has been saying it could be weeks before
this is activated, ex-5950 programming, but Ivo Ivanov, Bulgaria
reported at 0617 UT Dec 19: ``USA WRMI-5 on new 4980 kHz is on air,
December 19. Fair signal via SDR Milford PA`` without specifying the
time(s) he heard it, but then presenting its entire presumed 24-hour
schedule as if in effect. So far I have not checked for it more
extensively (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 6159.94V, Dec 20 at 0023, checking how well WBCQ gets into
UTwente, supposedly always aimed WSW: S7-S8 with `Radio TimTron
Worldwide` on Area ``51``, while 7490v with whatever is inaudible.
Sounds live, call from Marion Webster, and inviting others to -9180
number in Monticello. But then TT is discussing with someone else the
WBCQ antennas referring to ``7415`` as if that were their current
frequency! So must be very old recording. When was 7415 abandoned?
Then turns off the phone to get back to music (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Sat Dec 19 from 1548 UT tune-in via
Pardinho SP Brasil KiwiSDR, LRA36 has made a surprise appearance after
supposedly closing down for the summer a sesquimonth ago. Tbx tip on
the WOR iog at 1406 UT:

``Manuel Méndez Lugo, Spain
LRA 36 on air, heard via SDR Kiwi remote receivers in South America

ANTARCTICA, 15476 USB, LRA 36, Radio Nacional Arcángel San Gabriel
Base Esperanza, 1352-1405, 19-12, pop song in English, 1401
identification "LRA 36, Radio Nacional Arcángel San Gabriel", Spanish,
female, comments, songs in Spanish.

Thank you very much to Hugo López from Santiago de Chile, to alert me
via whatsapp about this transmission.``

As I start listening to the S5-S6 signal, it`s a mess, seems like two
different audio sources mixing equally, music + music or music + talk.
If they are going to do that, should be on separate sidebands, but as
usual there is no LSB, so both are on USB. Various comments include at
1550, ``feliz navidad``; 1551 ``Nacional Antártida Argentina``; 1556
LRA 36 ID; timesignal! at 1600+ about 15 seconds late, including
internet delay. Surely that is not generated at Base Esperanza, rather
Bs. As. More IDs and Antarctica mentions interspersed, including
reference to the original Wed 11-13 local time broadcast. But
1621*-*1623 cut off the air. When resumed the noise level at the SDR
is higher; 1626 more or less as originally; 1628 ID in passing.

At 1636 I try other Brasil SDRs: Brasília is full, but Rio is axually
getting this better with less local noise than SP. But about 1640*
signal lost and can`t find it again on any of them.

Meanwhile, further info about this had arrived from MM at 1415:

``"Adrian Korol retwitteó --- CE3 BBC, Hugo, Santiago de Chile,

According with this tweet, the today transmission is the first with
the 2021 Base Esperanza team`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ERITREA [non]. 17545V, Sat Dec 19 at 1535, presumed Bayto Yaikl is
VP S7-S9, but with BFO can tell the frequency is cycling up and down
as usual. At one point I catch it on 17545.060. This is Wed & Sat
only. Registered by RMI broker in HFCC as Issoudun, FRANCE site, but
this strange behaviour brings that into question. A previous inquiry
to Jeff White got no answer as to the correct transmitter site.

Wolfgang Bueschel also heard it today and speculates that it`s really
renting an old Soviet-era Kostinbrod, Bulgaria unit. Ivo Ivanov ought
to be able to discern whether it`s his local transmitter, e.g. by
hearing a second harmonic on groundwave, which would be 35090VV. The
same applies to the next RMI transmission after 1600 daily on 15285V,
R. Manara International which I previously caught wobbling likewise;
and maybe to the next2 one, 1700 on 13660, Alameda Bible Fellowship,
per NDXC on Mon & Fri only --- need to check whether that one vary the
same way. HFCC shows that on days 135, meaning Sun/Tue/Thu, but surely
a mistake for 246 = Mon/Wed/Fri. The latter two second harmonix would
be 30570VV, 27320VV.

Kai Ludwig speculates it could be Issoudun but via old Pori, Finland
transmitter moved in; no specific ISS info in the past decade (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 13565-CW, Dec 19 at 1452, HIFER beacon K6FRC, weak but
clearly readable, nothing but the call over and over. This may seem
routine, but not if it`s really 1.8 milliwatts as claimed, from
Patterson, California; only rarely audible and solely around this time
of day, so standard inquiry whether it`s *always* on air as beacons
should be, despite the kWh expense. Also standard: where are all the
other beacons listed in the 13550-13570 ISM band? I used to hear ~half
a dozen of them, but not any more (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [non]. 15460, Sat Dec 19 at 1454, African language, S9/+10,
the SSOB except for WRMI and RHC, surely the extracontinental SSOB,
but what? HFCC shows USAGM via VATICAN in Kin[yarwanda] on Sat/Sun
only. Then some African music until cut off at 1500*; but wait, there
is still/now a much weaker JBA signal on 15460. HFCC shows from 1500
it`s USAGM switched to BOTSWANA in Hausa daily. Aoki/NDXC shows both
as VOA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Friday December 18 at 2300, REE English as Alison
Hughes is recounting a subject she says they have not dealt with

rather disrespectful music interludes. Later in show on to some other
newsy subjects. VG reception, other frequencies unchecked (Glenn

** U S A. 9395, Fri Dec 18 at 2307, WRMI playing classical organ music
- Encore? NO, 2310 it`s Bob Biermann on `Truth 2 Ponder` saying he is
taking a break from politix, but goes on to proselytize here like he
does on `YWS`, lamenting how secular so much music and Xmas
programming has become, e.g. depressing movies on Hallmark channel
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5800, UT Sat Dec 19 at 0259, WRMI with some dead air, then
Zanotti ID JIP, 0300 that bouncy World Music fill, Greek? So Encore is
not getting the usual unpublicized (except by me) prepeat --- oh2, yes
it is, 0302 cut to JIP Magic Flute Overture, and the rest of that
excellent classical hour; as I am listening via Missouri SDR which is
getting it at S9+20/30 despite off the back of SSE antenna (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Area 51/61 webcast, UT Sat Dec 19 at 0100, WTO starting
AAAWWW on WBCQ. This is what should be on SW 6160v, but not checked;
Allan says on 7490 & 6160 tonight, ``we hope``. Nostalgia of VU meters
they have rather than LED displays; Angela seem to think she is
*supposed* to peak ``in the red``, which explains why she is
constantly shouting and overmodulating, distorting. Apparently she
sees red as a political statement! A spirited discussion/argument
follows the rest of the hour, and Allan also has to raise his voice
too high just to overcome her. She wonders why one monitor radio is on
``7489``? Allan explains that it`s an old Kenwood which drifts --- but
says nothing about WBCQ transmitters drifting. As a ``man of
science``, Allan declares, ``take the vaccine`` while Angela objects
--- China must have something to do with it as with the virus
itself.

At 0120 the Area 51/61 webcast of AAAWWW is suddenly interrupted by a
rapid retuning-sound across the dial, screech, switch to some music
fill, and a song repeating the F-word. I go to the WBCQ 7490 webcast
and find AAAWWW is still running there; I wonder if the same
divergence happened on SW? At 0122 a caller interrupts, Bill in Ohio
who says he has already got vaccinated, but they dispose of him
quickly.

At 0131 I recheck A51/61 webcast and just starting is ``2001, a Jane
Odyssey, welcome September 8`` --- so it appears that Larry Will,
controller of A51/61, had enough of the Wieners and decided to dump
out of their show, at least on his webcast.

Now on (7490) webcast, they are lamenting increasing ChiCom influence
in the US, etc., etc. 0145 datestamp as ``18th of December, YOOL
2020``, and assures us there will be an Xmas show too. 0147 to e-mail
starting with the new Free Radio Weekly, extracting a few frequencies
and pirate stations reported. AHW again advocates their dumping SSB
and using AM only. And so it goes to closing prayer by 0159, some
music fill and eventually Hal Turner starts, bragging about how many
countries he allegedly reaches via WBCQ & WRMI - I wonder if he knows
he`s been moved from 9455 to 5950, which BTW is much stronger than //
6160v. Axually, any full-power SW signal can reach *every* country in
the world at one time or another, no big deal. Whether there be any
significant listeners in any of them is quite another matter.

At 0219 I try to measure 7490v, but no signal direct to here! 6160
comes out as 6159.931 --- at least it`s quite stable. Now with Hal
Turner, but at 0254 recheck, music is playing. At 0342 I try
Alexandria SDR in SAM, which now displays 6160.0 minus 78 to 80 Hz.

I still want to measure where ``7490`` is tonight, so try Warrenton MO
SDR in SAM mode -- arrives there sufficiently at S7, but Hz offset on
that Kiwi is stuck at -3.7, even when I tune or jump to other
frequencies; not to be believed. At 0344, Alexandria is working as
7490.00 plus 170 to 172 Hz, now in TOMBS not // music on 6160- (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

QSLing, not a station staffer. Original report as also copied to him:

** U S A. 1150, Nov 8 at 0736 UT, besides KSAL Salina KS, I am hearing
Sousa march music, must be the scheduled DX test from KSEN Shelby,
Montana. Yes, 0737 very slow Morse Code MCW IDs: VVV DE KSEN, with
call repeated so many times I lose count. 0739 sweep tones; 0740 I
switch from the DX-398 with internal antenna only somewhat nulling
KSAL, to the R75 with E-W longwire where KSAL is more solid, but still
hearing underneath, KSEN now with continuous tone. 0742,
phone-off-the-hook pulse sounds. So that`s it. As I said, unheard 24
hours earlier, and it turns out that test was deficient at low power.
Tonight it`s widely heard from coast to coast at least. Shelby is near
Cut Bank, on I-15, only some 35 miles south of Alberta (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

Joe, Tnx for the QSL - a nice design. Added to my gallery:
