** COLOMBIA [and non]. 4940, Sept 10 at 0244, via TWR Bonaire, JBA
carrier only, which may be R. San Antonio, Peru, eclipsed by the new
nameless Colombian? when it`s on but not tonight nor later. Several
monitors and I find it connected with LV de tu Conciencia, and one
even heard an ID for its inactive frequency 6010 probably from an old
recording, but nothing definite about real name or location now,
remote Puerto Lleras like 6010 & 5910 were? Rafael Rodríguez says he
has no info about that yet. I`ve also asked a Canadian charity backer
but no reply. Alan Pennington, BDXC-UK recorded via Bonaire a *2300
sign-on Sept 9 with no ID but 3rd verse of truncated Colombian NA.

4940 is back on, Sept 11 at 0039 check via Bonaire, S9 with carrier -4
to -5 Hz on SynchAM, preacher droning. 0045 into mariachi song, but
this is not Mexico. After that preacher says he is confined to home
because of coronavirus, in April. Sounds like the same spiel I heard a
few nights ago.

BTW, Brandon Jordan found the other weak carrier, Peru? on 4939.71. I
never hear any such het but a much closer SAH now. So are they
deliberately obliterating fellow Christians? Evangelicals do not get
along with Catholix (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SCOTLAND [non]. 5800, UT Thu Sept 10 at 0300, `Encore` on WRMI, new
time Brice Avery is unaware of, and indeed it is not yet a prepeat but
a repeat of previous weekend`s I already heard including a Passacaglia
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9605, Sept 10 at 0154, the KBS World Radio relay in Spanish
at 0100 is still running via WHRI, Korean? song at S9+10/20, despite
VOV 7315 relay stopped (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1710 kHz, Sept 10 at 0637-0645+ UT, a loop heard definitely
mentioning COVID-19 several times at peaks vs high storm noise level.
I often have a JBA carrier on 1710 but first time I have had some
audio from this. No ID caught, but often reported further east is TIS
licensee despite the music, and also said to have temp authority for
higher power than 10 watts, 100? from Secaucus NJ, which is 2119 km
from Enid = 1317 statute miles:

Harold Frodge, MI, recently: ``1710 WQFG689 Hudson County (Seacaucus)
NJ may be running higher power than usual during the pandemic. They
are fair-good here often now. They play music behind some of the
features.`` And from him earlier in MARE:

``1710 WQFG689 Hudson County (Seacaucus) NJ; 0136-0145+, 7/24; Talk
over music at tune-in re COVID testing to 0139 call/QTH ID into
traffic, activity & biz restrictions. VGood peaks! Best ever heard.
(Frodge-MI)``

And from Larry Will: ``7/15, 0017, 1710am. WQFG689 Hudson County, NJ.
COVID-19 PSA, Highway construction in Hoboken and Secaucus. Fair to
good signal. (Will-MD)`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2051)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9-kHz JBA MW carrier search, Sept 10 at 0630 UT: 621,
747, 846, likely Canaries, ???, Kiritimati (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 2097.3-CW kHz, single-letter beacon A has not been heard
all summer despite frequent tunebys vs HSNL. Now this along with a
contribution and unsolicited testimonial:

``The letter `A` station on 2097.3 has been QRT for some time now. It
was [RST] 579 on VE6JY [Alberta remote] after dark many nights. 73,

** CANADA. Richard Langley reminds us that CHU has a page about its
outages, showing none on Sept 8 when I was not hearing 14670-CUSB:
https://nrc.canada.ca/en/chu-short-wave-station/
but it was last down August 13-14 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15370, Sept 9 at 2051 in choking Arabic, RHC is back here
ex-extraviation to 15340 the day before, S8-S9 with hum. Something`s
not wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830.058v, Wed Sept 9 at 2200, VOT English to us is already
in news so opened a bit early? Tuned-in via UTwente, S9+50! on the
meter but sounds much weaker and noisy as if a thunderstorm right over
Holland --- but Blitzortung shows the only storms in Europe now are in
the Gulf of Bothnia, and western Mediterranean between islands of
Spain and Italy. Maybe it`s a defect in VOT`s own transmission, or QRN
to the Ankara-Emirler STL? No storms over Turkey either.

I hopefully keep monitoring in case `Letterbox` make a comeback. After
news: 2207 very brief headlines from Foreign Press [no Turkish press
today]; 2209 COVID-19 PSA; 2210 This Day in History; 2213 Did You Know
That? 2216 multi-lingual ID reel which takes about 2 minutes, what a
time-filler! It would be more helpful if each language were introduced
by its English name, to help us learn to distinguish them, especially
the similar Turkic ones. 2218 into Turkish songs, and onward, so yet
again no mailbag. Something`s always awry at Ankara, erroneous at
Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2050 monitoring: confirmed Wed Sept 9 from

** CANADA. 14670-CUSB, Sept 9 at 1413, CHU is on and audible, unlike
yesterday daytime (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. CNR1 WOOB jammer survey Sept 9 at 1403: none higher than
11460 & 11440 & 10920 JBA carriers (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 11175-USB, Sept 9 at 1419, US military drill with
alfanumerix such as 4XQSQQU, same voice not only reverbing but offset
by a few seconds, with background noise. 1421 ``This is Toolbox,
out``. 1422, ``Rough Gym/Jim, this is Ironman, on 8992``! ``How copy
my station?`` -- no answer and this is still on 11175. At 1440
``Toolbox`` again on 11175-USB and now I also hear weaker 8992-USB,
but not on two receivers to confirm duplication. At 1510 also hearing
same thing on 15016-USB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 850, Sept 9 at 0629 UT, KOA Denver is on tonight in C2CAM
break. I notified NRC and IRCA that it seemed off the night before,
Sept 8 and also Sept 6; Paul Walker, Laramie WY, replied,

``No Glenn, incorrect. KOA has not been off at all and has been
operating as normal during the times you mention, according to a KOA
engineer I spoke to. AM conditions up here have been interesting
lately. I've had a few stations that should be strong be pretty weak
and I've heard stations I don't normally hear being present.``

I`m still not convinced; tho it is hard to prove a negative. ND 50 kW
KOA at under 500 miles is totally dominant here, yet I heard no trace
of it, when conditions were `normal` as far as I could tell ---
certainly no auroral blackout (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VIETNAM. 9730, 7280, 7220, Sept 9 at 1600, VOV in English is still
on SW: first trying S Korea KiwiSDR, 9730 poor with lo het and Chinese
CCI; 7280 Chinese also mixing with VOV English; 7220 JBA English only.
Aoki/NDXC shows both 9730 & 7280 also with Sound of Hope from Taiwan
at this time, so jammed of course, Commies vs Commies! CRI in Russian
also sked at 16 on 9730, so it gets jammed too. Better frequency
management, such as avoiding China would make VOV more successful a SW
broadcaster.

7280 always has a bigsig into UTwente splashing upon IRRS/WOR on 7290
Mondays at 1800, so how about now at 1600? Yes, VG S9+15 signal
without the CCCCCCI; 9730 is even better, S9+20 but with some hum,
AMSynch measuring it on 9729.947v; while 7220 on different beam is
poorly audible.

1615 into mailbag, with 75th anniversary congrats from Pakistanis;
NOTE! Says since September 1 these broadcasts are *temporarily* off
due to ``technical problems``: 7315 to eastern North America [WHRI],
and 12020 [sic] to Indonesia! 1621 music break, closing offering eQSL
for reports to englishsection@vov.vn 1627 dead air break before next
language.

I did not get around to checking 12019- and 9839+ before they would
have finished total span scheduled 1000-1530.

Meanwhile, Tony Molloy forwards this VOV story which does not mention
anything about SW, boding ill:

``“Untold stories”, a special program marking 75th anniversary of
VOV's English Service --- Monday, September 7, 2020 | 12:42:00

(VOVWORLD) - The Voice of Vietnam national radio station started
broadcasting from Hanoi on September 7th, just 5 days after the
establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist
Republic of Vietnam. The English program was among the first foreign
language programs broadcast overseas on that day. Since then,
September 7 has always been a great occasion to recall VOV’s history
and development...

UNIDENTIFIED. 4940, Sept 9 at 0357, continued from previous report,
via TWR Bonaire SDR, outro previous `Lecciones de la Historia` as from
Fuerza de Paz, bit of music, NO ID, 0400 into sermonizing citing I
Corinthians. Final check on own R75 at 0625: still there JBA talk vs
HSNL. Also reported by Lúcio Otávio Bobrowiec, much earlier:

``Unid. 4940 kHz; 08-09/09, 2348-0108 pop music, slow spanish music,

Hauser
** BRAZIL. 11780, Sept 8 at 2147, once again RNA music is
undermodulated, suptorted but S9 fading to S3; only a JBA carrier on
6180 this early. Many 6180 stations but nothing else scheduled at this
hour. By 0057 UT Sept 9, 6180 is OK // still distorted 11780 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 730, Sept 8 at 0630 UT, as I tune in, a promo for CKDM
player options. That`s Dauphin, Manitoba, U2 10/5 kW. Night pattern is
supposedly a broad cardioid with a null due south right toward me, and
to boot, I am listening on the E-W-favoring longwire.

730 has proven to be an interesting DX frequency: only low-powers at
night in the US, as it`s a Mexican/Canadian `clear`, for CDMX,
Montreal, Vancouver, not to mention Dauphin in between. It seems that
XEX is no longer a factor: originally 100/100 kW ND, it can`t be
anywhere near that power any more (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 14670-CUSB, Sept 8 at 2142, no signal from CHU, and have
also found it inaudible several daytime chex when it ought to
propagate even under current conditions. 7850-CUSB is audible now and
better in the evenings. At 0048 Sept 9, 3330-CUSB is also audible, and
maybe a JBA carrier on 14670? I wonder if the higher frequency has
been down, as one of their frequencies has been out of order before
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. CNR1 way-out-of-band jammer survey, Sept 8 at 1349-1400:
none in the 16s, 15s; 14850 JBA S4-S5 Chinese; 14700; 13835; 11150
S3-S5; 10920; 1359 9300 S5-S7, TS to 1400* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 4765, Sept 9 at 0046 check, R. Progreso is still absent,
kaput? Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15340, Sept 8 at 2136, surprise, RHC Spanish is here instead
of 15370, S9+30 with contact info, overmodulated and distorted. Could
be a keypad punch-up error if RHC have such sophisticated equipment,
altho I vaguely recall RHC once used 15340 years ago and maybe still
in their database. Something`s always wrong at RHC; we`ll see if it
rehappen. // 13740 good modulation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN [and non]. 13670, Sept 8 at 1353, S5-S7 narration in
English: it`s CRI this hour, via Kashi, land of ChiCom persecution of
Uyghurs. Later at 1800 will be occupied by MWV in English which I get
on the caradio (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EUROPE. 5780, re my unID JBA carrier here often in evenings, such
as Sept 2 at 0324, could it be Europirate Harmony Radio, if they are
on air all-night? Yes, per these NASWA Flashsheet logs:

``5780 PIRATE (EUROPE.) Harmony Radio, 0107, 9/4/20. A pretty good
signal tonight playing "It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That
Swing" by, I think, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. (Perry-Il)

5780 PIRATE (Europe.) Harmony Radio, 0257, 9/4/20. Instrumental music,
ballad, into a series of show tunes, ID into “I love Paris in the
springtime” and other show tunes. Poor – fair. Nice to hear a
Europirate this far West. (Taylor-WI)`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GERMANY [and non]. Uncle Bill Tilford`s reply to my QSL reports of
his specials on Channel 292 and on WBCQ, accompanying these eQSLs
http://www.w4uvh.net/showcase292eqslHAUSER.pdf
http://www.w4uvh.net/WBCQworksHAUSER.pdf
which have now been added as #98 and #99 to my QSL gallery:
http://www.worldofradio.com/QSL.html

``Glenn, Thanks for writing about us and for your reports, eQSLs
attached for the two specials, let me know if you want something for
the UBMP fragment. A few informational items:

-Channel 292 uses the English pronunciation (except for a long "a" in
Radio) for their IDs even in their full German language mode, probably
for marketing and branding reasons. When I first began with them I did
full Deutsch only to change later to conform with their usage.

-On WBCQ, the half hour before Camp Constitution is still an available
time slot. UBMP is an hour-long program, but I'm told that WBCQ
frequently uses the first half of it as filler in lieu of board audio.
It's not an official broadcast of UBMP, the full hour is Sundays right
after Marion's Attic on 7490 kHz (2200-2300 UTC right now). If people
are enjoying the half hour interlude in the meantime, works for
me.

The Sunday tx is not a good option on terrestrial where you live
during the summer months but should become practical as winter
approaches. Meanwhile you westerners have a special dispensation to
enjoy the webcast while it's there :) I like the Marion's Attic - UBMP
- Le Show sequencing too much to reschedule away from it.

-For Channel 292, 6070 and 9670 are apparently both in long skip mode
at night in Europe. When we scheduled the broadcast a couple of months
ago we had reason to believe that long skip would not become an issue
until October, obviously things turned out differently. 9670 even
landed in New England, and there are quite a few reports of the
special from Russia.

- There will definitely be Thanksgiving and New Year's specials on
WBCQ and probably a New Year's special on Radio Channel 292. We have
already had some correspondence from listeners letting us know that
they became interested in a new (for them) program or two by listening
to these.

Thanks for all you do for radio. 73,`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MADAGASCAR. 9765, Sept 8 at 2153, Jesus song in African English,
announcer talkover, ``World Christian Broadcasting``, yet this is the
Portuguese/Brazilian hour of MWV; much stronger as always the
simultaneous Chinese hour to Europe! on 11610 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 341-MCW kHz, Sept 8 circa 1900 UT, ND beacon at Woodring
Airport, I haven`t paid attention to DFing, but from inside Enid to my
surprise, it`s almost SE, while the AP is almost due east. Circa 1915
I drive out east on US 412 to the airport turnoff due north of the new
terminal, and DF from there is due south; so 341 must be transmitting
from considerably south of the runways. One of these days I`d like to
visit it, if I have plenty of time and access, permission on
backroads. For now as a bonus I pick up some high-calorie takeout from
Carls Jr (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, Sept 8 at 2206, no signal at UTwente from VOT
English, another day off. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 13565-CW, Sept 8 at 1354, K6FRC IDs over and over, JBA HIFER
beacon from Patterson CA, as occasionally heard despite published
power of only 1.8 milliwatts, and standard remark about whether it`s
continuous or not (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, Sept 9 at 0059, still no WRNO (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 850, Sept 8 at 0636 UT, NO KOA, like last night around this
time, leaving only something very weak on frequency. I`ve seen no
other reports of this, not even from Colorado. Perhaps it`s reduced
power so Aurorans would still hear it? Perhaps2 they`ve been off the
air only after midnight for maintenance? Indeed, it`s on with usual
blasting sicnal, UT Sept 9 at 0132 check with silly ballgame. If we
could get rid of all this storm noise, would be a golden DX
opportunity opening up 850 for DX. Will this continue? (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** VIETNAM [and non]. My observations last few days of VOV missing
from WHRI 7315 relays including English at 0000 --- nor any Spanish at
0046 Sept 9 --- are now explained by Jeff White on this week`s AWR
Wavescan, after quoting one of my previous logs of it wondering
whether that would continue under WBCQ ownership:

``We have information that Voice of Vietnam relays from South
Carolina, WHRI are going to be discontinued, most likely, as the
station is planning to probably eliminate its shortwave broadcasts
altogether, and it may do shortwave [sic] broadcasts to the United
States via some local AM and FM stations``

This presumably comes from recent virtual-only B-20 HFCC conference.

See whether any other broadcasts remain? WRTH A-20 English update:

``12020`` is particularly interesting, as we know it`s constantly way
off-frequency about 12018.9. From Aoki/NDXC its complete schedule is
now shown:

The x is not keyed but I think means deleted or no longer heard.

After 2300 UT Sept 8 via remote in S Korea, no signals heard on 12019
or 9840 --- axually that too was always off-frequency-minus.

Does WHRI continue relaying KBSWR in Spanish at 0100-0200 on 9605? I
suppose so, meant to check, too late now (Glenn Hauser, OK)

UNIDENTIFIED. 4940, Sept 9 at 0058, music is JBA maybe S7 between high
storm noise level [HSNL] crashes, so looks worth checking on TWR
Bonaire SDR: yes, like 3 nights ago, but not 1 or 2 nights ago, good
S8-S9 and soon into monolog by preacher in Spanish, starts saying he
is quarantined, right into biblical references. He keeps going with no
breaks past 0200, but his background noise surges whenever he pauses
even briefly: turn off the AVC!

We really need an ID or at least some clue where this is coming from,
so I keep half-listening until 0205 when that SDR bumps me off, but
MEGO, altho near 100% readable, I am *not* going to pay rapt attention
to this long-winded gospel huxter. Then try other SDRs: no good at DR,
Boa Vista, Pardinho, Santiago; and Bogotá won`t work. 0237 try Bonaire
again and get back on as he is *still* going, mentions Coronavirus,
etc., a bit weaker at S6-S7.

At 0259 suddenly stops sermonizing, NO ID!!! But over to YL plugging
the lamontanacolombia.com website again, some credits, and then starts
narrating `Capítulo 12` of something, mentioning ``Narnia`` several
times; hmmm? Back on at 0346; still going with dialog. Enough for now,
but it might keep going late into the night or all-night.

See my previous discussion under PERU or unID: it could be Christian
station Radio San Antonio, Perú, or something new established by
Ethnic Radio to evangelize natives in Colombia, Venezuela; but all in
Spanish so far, testing? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 13093.6-USB, Sept 8 at 1354, 2-way in Spanish, noise,
whistling; like heard better, 5 days earlier (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

TIPS FOR RATIONAL LIVING

The Global Decline of Religion --- Giving Up on God
By Ronald F. Inglehart, September/October 2020. Foreign Affairs

``...From about 2007 to 2019, the overwhelming majority of the
countries we studied — 43 out of 49 — became less religious. The
decline in belief was not confined to high-income countries and
appeared across most of the world.

Growing numbers of people no longer find religion a necessary source
of support and meaning in their lives. Even the United States—long
cited as proof that an economically advanced society can be strongly
religious—has now joined other wealthy countries in moving away from
religion...``

Hauser
** BRAZIL. 11780, September 7 at 2329, RNA is S9/+20 with suptorted
music, while modulation is OK on // 6180 but only S7-S9. Then full ID
not mentioning 6180, but 980, 11780 and a few more AM/FM frequencies
of R Nacional in other cities. I keep seeing logs of 11780 by others
taking no note of the awful modulation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. CNR1 WOOB jammer survey, Sept 7 at 1355-1400: none in the
16s, 15s, 14s, 13s, 12s, 11s until: 11170 JBA carrier. By now it is
almost 1400 so will it cut off air as typical then? Yes (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** CHINA. CNR1 WOOB jammer survey, Sept 7 at 2336: None in the 17s,
13s, 12s, 11s, or 10s, but just in the current LUHF/MUF window: 14690
Chinese with flutter S3-S5; 14980 CC JBA S1; 15840 CC S2 vs buzz;
15870 JBA carrier; 16100 CC JBA vs CODAR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 7380, Sept 7 circa 2315, RHC English for Africa is still
AWOL; not on previously used 9720 or 11880 either. Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 4765, Sept 8 at 0034, R. Progreso is still gone. Something`s
always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GERMANY. 9670 & 6070, Sept 7 at 2125, Uncle Bill`s special via
Channel 292 is in progress but no signals on these at UTwente; 3955
has a poor S6-S7, insufficient for easy listening; at this time talk
and Cuban music; 2133 FTIOM announcement; 2138 must have proceeded to
UBMP with banjo; 2146 John of VORW is a bit more readable mentioning
this Ch. 292 special; 2150 ``Betty Davis Eyes``; 2157 Bill`s closing
announcement has an echo, problem or SFX? 2200 brief German
announcement which still pronounces station name in English, and off.
By end was slightly stronger (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** PUERTO RICO. 389-MCW kHz, Sept 7 at 0611 UT, ND beacon DDP, 1000
watts from San Juan - Dorado (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Monday Sept 7 at 2203, REE English has not been
canceled: Alison Hughes is back, after hours of dead air on Friday.
Quick check on UTwente which altho reading S9+20, is not good for 9690
due to heavy ChiCom ACI from 9685. She`s interviewing someone stuck in
their apartment, quarantined I guess (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, Sept 7 at 2202, poor JBA S5 signal at UTwente; I
guess VOT is on but normally is blasting in to that SDR (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 359-MCW kHz, Sept 7 at 0613 UT, ND beacon SDR, which is 25
watts from Snyder, Texas; tough copy with QRM, QSB; note there is a
SDY in Sidney, Montana, 100 watts.

281-MCW kHz, Sept 7 at 0620 UT, NDB DMO, 25 watts from Sedalia,
Missouri (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2050 monitoring: confirmed Monday
September 7 from 1800:42 on IRRS 7290-AM via Bulgaria; tune-in at 1755
to weak carrier; 1755.4 cut on stronger carrier; 1758.8 cut on
modulation of rock song; 1759.9 sign-on falsely claiming this is in
reduced-carrier SSB mode best tuned in synchronous USB; Feature Story
News headlines, then WOR. Continues OK past 1805; recheck closing to
1829:38 when I am cut off after ``...as I end with a ----`` [standard
disclaimer]. All this via UTwente at S9+20 with constant plus/minus 10
splash no matter what the bandwidth; but the 7291 RTTY warble is not
heard.

Also confirmed UT Tue Sept 8 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, VG S9+15 at
UTwente.

Also confirmed UT Tue Sept 8 at 0330 on WRMI 5800, VG S9+10/20 at TWR
Bonaire. Next:

2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE

** U S A. 7490.06, Monday Sept 7 at 2317, WBCQ playing African music;
o yes, UB announces Timbuktu, Mali, so this is a bonus broadcast of
UBMP, 25 hours after the original which I already heard Sunday at
2200. This has happened before, but I don`t think UB has mentioned it,
as cannot be relied upon. Sked shows Available Time Slot at 2300
Mondays but for only a semihour, so did `Camp Constitution Radio`
interrupt it at 2330? Anyhow it`s back to Bill after 0000 UT Tuesday
for FTIOM in its regular slot, by now VG S9/+10.

(7490), UT Tue Sept 8 at 0213 tune-in to Uncle Bill`s Labor Day
special `WBCQ Works` presenting his and other programs; for this at
the computer I have switched to webcast, which lately has been
slow-starting, but Larry has not terminated it yet. Now in ``Old Time
Religion`` gospel tune with parody lyrix, but I could not understand
the new title. Then some Weird Al, ``Dog Eat Dog``; 0223 over to Sir
Jack Scratchy of `Behaviour Night`; 0234 `Lost Discs Radio Show`. Each
plugs WBCQ and the times their shows are mainly heard. 0245
cosmikdebris reverb and Jane but I don`t hear a program name, 0258 UB
wrapping up offering special eQSL for reports to a gmail address I
missed. There will be another one of these around Thanksgiving (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VIETNAM [non]. 7315, Sept 8 at 0015, 0033 chex, VOV is still
missing from WHRI relay when it should be in English, Spanish, so has
it been totally canceled? WHRI itself is still programming on 5920 at
0022; and by 0212 on 7315. I want to see what program sked now shows,
https://familybroadcastingcorporation.com/whr/
but website won`t display them any more, unless I am being misdirected
to wrong pages, where you may only search schedules if you enter all
the data correctly --- but they go nowhere. The streaming page of
Angels 1, 2 and 6 is also dead. Maybe they are winding down for the
big sale to WBCQ?

This page displays the new VOV logo! Yet schedule info is dated 2013!
It also says VOV was founded on Sept 7, 1945, so happy anniversary!
https://vovworld.vn/en-US/introsection.vov
Nothing found there about WHRI or not (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 4940, Sept 8 at 0105, JBA signal at Bonaire TWR SDR, and
at 0337 JBA carrier; like last night, unlike Saturday night = UT
Sunday when Spanish gospel with no IDs was inbooming there. Bryan
Clark was also hearing it in NZ, and discussed with Mauno Ritola,
noting Colombian content, so related to LV Conciencia? But no IDs
either. They make no mention of R San Antonio, Peru, which as I
pointed out was active in August on 4940. Seems to me that Fuerza de
Paz would either be using the Peruvian or got it to agree to cede the
frequency. Bryan`s Sept 7:

``The apparently new South American on 4939.996 gave reasonable
reception here around 0630 to 0715 UTC today - I noted it weakly
around 0530 and followed it past 0800 but the clearest signal was
around 0645 when they had some form of radio drama. It didn`t seem
overtly religious in nature and the Latin rhythms heard later weren't
reminiscent of an evangelical broadcaster to my ears anyway.

Have attached an audio file in case you can hear something that
clearly identifies the station, so would welcome any feedback.
Mailing addresses in Costa Rica and Bolivia are given. Interestingly
my reception here in northern NZ was better than what I could find from
Kiwi SDRs in Bonaire, Colombia and Chile. 73, Bryan`` (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 5010, Sept 7 at 0634, open carrier of S9/+10/20. Likely
WRMI-14 for some reason, supposed to be off the air 0230-1100 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 11101-USB, Sept 7 at 1359, 2-way in colloquial Spanish,
encountered during my CNR1 jammer survey (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
