Logs
** AUSTRALIA. After finding no activity on higher hambands, Es or F2,
finally, this OSOB: 18140 USB, June 8 at 2128-2138, VK4SX making N
American contacts, mostly unheard but one calls him Dennis, and
eventually put together infrequent IDs as VK4SX. QRZ.com:

VK4SX Australia flag Australia
Dennis.A. EDEY
NO QSL
NO QSL AT ALL Bundaberg, QL 4670
Australia

Nor does he wish to be spotted. That`s just south of Cairns on the NE
coast of Queensland, tenth-largest city in the state. LOTS of equipment
photos on his page, but not a single human, not even in the upper-right
corner, rather antenna (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 9667.5 approx., June 9 at 0647, RVM music S7/S9, again
jumped way above 9667 after last check just above nominal 9665 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2142)

** OKLAHOMA. Nearby LW/MW beacon check, June 8 at 2037 UT: 255 SW
StillWater is on but JBA; also on: 341 EI EnId, 350 RG Will RoGers
World Airport OKC; still OFF: 515 PN PoNca City (Glenn Hauser, Enid,
WORLD OF RADIO 2142)

** SPAIN. 17855, Wed June 8 at 2208, REE is VG for token English, even
on DX-398 portable with a few feet clipped on; Amy Egan`s feature is an
interview with director of new film `Operation Mincemeat` about
deceiving the Germans in WWII; which has just opened in Spain under a
totally different title as literal translation would make no sense.
Original interview had questions in Castilian which Amy voiced-over,
while answers were in English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, June 9 at 0500, UR1 via WRMI, `Ukraine:
Security Issue` in English by the other YL with accent, including:
Russia holding 600 people in ``torture centers``. VG via Maryland
remote (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2142)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2141 monitoring: not confirmed Wed
June 8 at 2100:21 on WBCQ 7489.9v since it`s a JBA carrier direct,
can`t even recognize my voice let alone confirm correct episode; and
the computer for closer remote or streamcheck is out of reach right
now. Did anyone hear it? Yet the flat-earth crap on 9330 is S9+22 in
English. Despite huge disparity in power and gain, the puny Classic
transmitter might have a chance of audibility if it were on 9 MHz or
higher in the daytime, above summerdaytime lower-band absorption.

Confirmed UT Thursday June 9 at 0030 on WRMIs: 9395 S9+10/20 but stormy
into Missouri SDR; and also 9455, S9+5/15.

Also confirmed UT Thursday June 9 at 0130 on WRMIs: 9395, S9+10/20 to
Missouri SDR; 5010, S9/+10 into Bonaire SDR.

WORLD OF RADIO 2142 contents: Antarctica, Brasil, (Bulgaria), Canada,
(China non), Cuba, Greece, (Italy), Japan, Korea North & South, North
America, Oklahoma, Palau, São Tomé, Solomon Islands, Turkey, Ukraine
and non, USA, Vanuatu; publications; propagation outlook.

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html

For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much
appreciated, thanks this week to generous Doug Brown, London ON, who
sent a Florida US$ check to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702
USA, and comments: ``Thanks, Glenn, for continuing to promote the
medium of short wave radio at a time when many are saying the Internet
had made SW obsolete. Online streaming is no more like radio than
intravenous feeding is like fine dining. Authoritarian governments can
control the Internet but they can`t control RF propagation``

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9955, June 9 at 0644, WRMI-5, S9+10 with TOMBS over Cuban
pulse jamming, notably also putting out obvious spurs with traces of
same audio at plus/minus 5 kHz on 9950 & 9960, but also with declining
strength to JBA carriers at plus/minus 10 and 15 kHz! 9940, 9945, 9965,
9970. Something`s odd at Okeechobee (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130 kHz, June 9 at 0152, KWKH under an open carrier making a
fast SAH, i.e. KLEY Wellington KS is back on air but amodulous. And
obviously not cut to legal night power of ONE WATT rather than 250 W
day power, despite official sunset in June, and July, being 0145. It
seems no one but me cares about these violations, not even 50 kW KWKH
Shreveport (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
