![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** ARGENTINA [non]. 5800, Oct 16 at 0218, surprised to hear YL in Japanese, not Chinese of Korean; but no longer surprised when after song at 0220 switches at 0221 to Brazuguese, from RAE. Relays via WRMI are still multi-lingual from homes, whatever the nominal language hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ASCENSION. 7305, Oct 16 at 0629, one B-B-C chime sequence and opening with drumming in presumed Hausa as scheduled until 0700, 125 kW, 55 degrees; very poor (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** BRAZIL. 6135.083, Oct 16 at 0638, soft music at S5-S7, presumed always off-frequency R. Aparecida; and with splash from 6145 RHC where something is always wrong (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 5040, Oct 16 at 0622, RHC English carrier is still on at S9+20 with maybe trace of modulation. Turnoff time of this varies widely, with or without programming. Ron Howard says my JBA carrier on 5040 would not have been Vanuatu, still on 3945 + harmonix of that (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6008-6052 range, Oct 16 at 0632, pulse jamming splattering out of full bore on 6030 despite OCB being off after 0400 for months, tnx to the incompetent and wasteful Jamming Command where something is always beyond wrong (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, Oct 16 at 1419, RHC missing, while 15230 is still on at S8 but just barely modulated. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7254.9v, Oct 16 at 0630, VON AWOL again (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** PALAU. 9900, Oct 16 at 0934, no signal from revived T8WH test as I was told planned, when I briefly awaken; but numerous other awakees were getting it with definite IDs after 0800 on 9930 instead, and with CNR1 jamming apparently already there vs Sound of Hope (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 293-MCW kHz, Oct 16 at 0643 UT, common FBY, 25 watts from Faribury, Nebraska, with QRM from another NDB at same pitch, hard to separate, until their slighty different periods unoverlap them, UI: which is 30 watts from QUIncy, Illinois, where they pronounce it Quinsy instead of Quinzy as in Mass. Just in time before UI fades out (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2056 monitoring: confirmed first broadcast UT Friday October 16 at 0130 on WRMIs 5850 VG to NW, and 5010 to south is even S9+10/20. It is can't-miss-listening for me each week`` One may also contribute via money order or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4840, Oct 16 at 0625, WWCR yet again with dead air except for some hum, S9+40. TOMBS still on 3215 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, Oct 16 at 0236, WRNO is back on after missing some nights, but only S5-S9 and JBM music (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 4905, Oct 16 at 0624, RTTY again here with CODAR QRM, not on 4985, presumed another jump by NSS. Earlier in evening, no RTTY on any of 4895, 4905 or 4985 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9900, Oct 16 at 1414, two weak signals slightly apart making LAH, presumed ChiCom jamming and RFA Tibetan via Kuwait as scheduled this hour only (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9955, Oct 16 at 1414, weak talk with flutter, presumably RFA Burmese via TAJIKISTAN at 1330-1430, as per Aoki/NDXC; rather than WRMI which sometimes runs past 1400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1719 UT October 16

Thursday, October 15 2020
![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** MADAGASCAR. 13710, Oct 14 at 2109, something new: ``His mother waited up for him``, repeated over and over --- a secret spy message? No, alternating with something in Chinese, so a language lesson; first thought VOA? But next phrase to learn is ``The Bible tells us to wait patiently on the Lord`` --- oh, oh, better not be VOA. Nothing is scheduled in the big three on 13710 at this hour, but MWV is on 13710 until 2100 in Arabic. Chinese follows supposed to be on 11610 where it`s always good here, aimed at Europe, so failed to change frequency! Wish I had figured this out in time to check whether 11610 were missing today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9830, Oct 14 at 2205, VOT English inbooming to UTwente at S9+40 with usual features, but after same old COVID-19 PSA and `Today in History`, just music fill after 2218, no `Letterbox` on yet another Wednesday. But the music is really nice (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2055 monitoring: confirmed Wed Oct 14 from 2100:18 on WBCQ 7490.06v, S6-S8 direct as reception gradually improves; jump to 2200 in November will help more. Also confirmed surprise new time on WRMI 9955, Wed Oct 14 at 2200, caught by Richard Lemke, Alberta; and now it is on the skedgrid too. Next: 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Thanks for an anonymous contribution by money order or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Financial support may alternatively be sent via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily US funds as PP will convert. WOR 2056 should be ready by early UT Friday October 16 for first broadcast at 0130 on WRMIs 5850 & 5010 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 18155-USB, Oct 14 at 2103, ham in ``western Washington`` in contact with weaker station, but he is in deep fades avoiding ID, typical of sporadic E. First catch on ``17`` m in a few weeks despite frequent scanthrus. DXMaps did not catch this opening MUF even unto <19 MHz. OSOB and also not a thing on 16m SWBC band, and probably not either a single transmission now from anywhere in Hemisphere West (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0016 UT October 15

![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** ALGERIA [non]. 13820, Wed Oct 14 at 1810, another try at English from RTA via FRANCE. Again poor signal at UTwente, and even worse to Spain, South Africa, Qatar and Kuwait SDRs, but ICELAND is sufficient off the back S4-S6 and echoey as I pay attention from 1825: now in French; 1835 pause for Qur`an; 1838 back to French; 1844 météo avec musique; 1846 item about Nations-Unies; 1851 Arabic to 1859* off. No English during this period, so is there ever, anymore? BTW, météo meaning weather is missing from my neat handy little Collins French/English 760-page pocket dixionary first published in 1952y: must be a neologism (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CANADA. 248-MCW kHz, Oct 14 at 0614 UT, ND beacon dash and WG, which is 1000 watts from WinnipeG, Manitoba, *much* stronger than the others now and often: 250-MCW kHz, Oct 14 at 0613 UT, ND beacon dash and FO, which is 1600 watts from Flin Flon, Manitoba. ``Flin Flon shares the distinction of being named after a character in an adventure novel with Tarzana, California.`` --- bing. 2066 km = 1284 statute miles from Enid. 258-MCW kHz, Oct 14 at 0612 UT, ND beacon dash and ZSJ which is 1000 watts from Sandy Lake, Ontario, not South Africa. I was tuned to 257-USB. Wikipedia: ``Sandy Lake First Nation (or Negaw-zaaga'igan Nitam-Anishinaabe, Oji-Cree: ᓀᑲᣞ ᓵᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ ᓂᑕᒼ ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯ) is an independent Oji-Cree First Nations band government. The First Nations community, in the west part of Northern Ontario, is located in the Kenora District, 227 km (141 mi) northeast of Red Lake, Ontario.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. RF 19, Oct 14 at 1515 UT, still no signal from KAUT OKC. Rabbitears.info shows it has transitioned to ATSC 3.0 as of October 8, the only Market 50 station so far, and as related to KFOR. None others in OK or KS, and in TX only in Austin and DFW. Very few overall. No signal registers visibly, of course, nor even on the STB meter, but presumably is there, and enough to block any DX of either standard. KAUT ``Freedom 43`` programming in ATSC 1.0 is allegedly now on the RF 27 KFOR transmitter, but I am not getting any sign of it, just KFOR and its usual -2, -3 and -4 subchannels. Surely the STB would step on to -5 or whatever? Rabbitears.info is not showing programming transfer to KFOR. I asked KWTV/KSBI engineering director Jack Mills about this, and he thinx the only way to get KAUT in would be to rescan. But STBs should not require that, and my other TV which does, Sanyo, I never want to rescan since it may miss marginal signals at the moment which are already scanned in! Never buy a TV which can be set up for tuning *only* by scanning! Cannot even add or delete channels at will (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. RF 20, Oct 14 at 1513 UT, KTXS 12-1 is decoding, tnx to tropo blob as forecast by Hepburn, from marginal here to levels 5-6 SSW into W central TX, i.e. Sweetwater station at 494 km = 307 miles city-to-city. With ABC, The View sporadically decoding, and also at 1532, CW on 12-2 and MeTV on 12-3. Otherstation in market, KRBC NBC ``9`` is now on RF 29 so blocked here by KTUZ or maybe QRMing it. I had both 9 and 12 many times back in the analog VHF TVDX era. KTXS runs 530 kW ERP from 1319 feet HAAT per rabbitears.info and is also direxional skewed eastward toward Abilene, also with beam tilt. Level 1 tropo into S Kansas is enough to inbring sporadically KDCU RF 31 ``31``, Derby-Wichita with Univision bug LR at 1523. Both to my bent-mast and broken antenna at roof-level (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2055 monitoring: final two airings: 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Thanks for an anonymous contribution by money order or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Financial support may alternatively be sent via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - not necessarily US funds as PP will convert WOR 2056 should be ready by early UT Friday October 16 for first broadcast at 0130 on WRMIs 5850 & 5010 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 10194-USB, Oct 14 at 1407, WGY945 definitely IDed twice in contact with anotherstation, informal weather discussion, digiblast and nothing further for a few minutes. Searched out an ancient 27-year-old list by Richard Bak of FEMA frequencies, not including this one, and calls, this one having been in Columbus OH; http://www.redwaveradio.com/11_0fce4e49481b7ea0_1.htm (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9991.44-USB, Oct 14 at 1411, 2-way in colloquial Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1937 UT October 14

![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** ALGERIA [non]. 13820, Tuesday October 13 at *1800, TDA relay via FRANCE cuts on just in time, opening in Arabic with VG signal into UTwente, atop self-jamming beepery also audible. Last summer it was discovered that this hour, only, of RTA would often contain an English segment out of the domestic international network, usually around the half hour, but no one has reported it in a long time, so I am rechecking today, listening after 1825 either live or by recording, but the signal has faded down a lot. I can`t make out any English after 1830, but at 1841 seems to have switched to French. After that, so weak I can`t discern the language. Try another day, and/or another remote site.
Drastic move down to 7375 for B-20 should improve close-in reception, and if the segment shift one UT hour later between 19-20 due to going off DST, both 7375 and 7315 will be available per: http://hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B20&broadc=TDA which also shows extensive imaginary schedule of RTA via the two sites inside Algeria which have been ``under construxion`` for many, many years, always with wooden HFCC schedules (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey, Oct 13 at 2336-2348, not in the order tuned, mostly fluttery JBA carriers at known spots, u.o.s.: 9180, 9200, 9280, 9300, 11070, 11100, 11460, 11500, 12210 Chinese, 12880, 13130 S9+10 Chinese talk and music, why so big, the rest so small? 13160, 14870, 14920, 15920, 16160 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** COLOMBIA? 4940, Oct 13 at 0338, anonymous mystery missionary station, with gospel huxter in Spanish, S9/+5 into Bonaire SDR with characteristic minus 6.2 Hz carrier offset. Recheck direct at 0627, same at S9 but poor in noise level here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 7345, Oct 13 at 0602, BBCWS in English, poor with Cuban pulse jamming. A fine example of Cuba not giving a damn about collateral damage its excessive jamming may cause; since it`s ``needed`` only before 0200 UT when Radio Martí quits DRMing 7340-7345-7350. BBC to Africa at 06-07 is via Ascension, but also on 7345 at 05-06 via Vatican and 07-08 via São Tomë --- why change sites every hour; because they can? 7345 once was useful here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7254.9, Oct 13 at 0604, NO signal from VON; it had been reliable for quite a while checked almost every night after this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 6159.903, Oct 14 at 0021, JBA carrier, trace of mod? Presumably the ailing WBCQ transmitter during `Old Tyme Radio`, close to known offset but could be a local birdie. Nothing about this on the program schedule website, but plans for a Thanxgiving special: http://zappahead.net/#2020-1126-wbcq-thanksgiving (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4840, Oct 13 at 0626, WWCR with S9+40 of dead air as often during this frequency-hour; ho, hum (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 880, Oct 13 at 0610 UT, amid TA carrier search including one on 882, I notice that KRVN Lexington, Nebraska is still carrying Jim Bohannon during this hour, despite missing from his website station-finder, as has just appeared in NRC DX News (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VENEZUELA. 6906.08-CUSB, Oct 13 at 0340, no signal into Bonaire from ROCV. I wonder if it adhere to a specific schedule, or erratic. Manuel Méndez, Spain, reports to the WOR iog that instead of Venezuela 93.7, it`s now relaying LV del Tigre, 980, and he was still hearing it later on same date: ``6906.1, R. O. C. V., Radio Onda Corta Venezuela, El Tigre, heard here in Friol today, 0425-0555, 13-10, extremely weak signal, Venezuelan and pop songs, audible only at times, strong fading, no identification can be heard due to the extremely weak signal. 15311. Via SDR Kiwi remote receiver in Bonaire, heard with fair to good signal, 0530-0640, 13-10. and I could observe that R. O. C. V. has left relaying "Venezuela, 93.7 FM, Así Suena", and now is relaying "La Voz del Tigre, 980 AM", Venezuelan and pop songs in English, identifications: "Todo el día complaciendo a sus oyentes, La Voz del Tigre", "Desde El Tigre, 980 AM", "980 en el dial, La Voz del Tigre", "La Voz del Tigre, 980, la pionera", "980 AM, La Voz del Tigre". The programming manager of the station confirms, via Whatsapp, that the actual power is 50 watts, but in about 12 days they increase the transmitter power, he also says R. O. C. V. means Radio Onda Corta Venezuela`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Oct 13 from 0610: 576, 621, 774(2), 855, 882, 936, 1044, 1089, 1098, 1107, 1116(2), 1125, 1134(2), 1305, 1503(2); 1710(domestic) (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 1710, Oct 13 at 0618 UT, JBA talk at the end of my TA carrier search, probably the Hudson County NJ TIS. BTW, I wonder what happened to that religious pirate in Bâton Rouge on 1690? Not heard since sometime last year. Website emphasizes streaming of radio and TV but still claims 1690 toward the bottom of this page: https://www.radioretenloquetienes.com/ And even displays the FCC logo with a reference to Part 15. They used to claim an FM frequency too (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) TIPS FOR RATIONAL LIVING ++++++++++++++++++++++++ IAN BREMMER, GZERO MEDIA: WHY I`M NOT VOTING FOR TRUMP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_rZ1D-Mtac (via gh) This report dispatched at 0216 UT October 14
