** CUBA. 13634 & 13766 approx., Feb 3 at 1518, RHC FMish distorted
spurblobs out of 13700-AM today are only JBA, but enough to bother
algo on 13765-AM. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** ETHIOPIA [non] 15160, Feb 3 at 1520, JBA carrier with flutter; just
enough to lead to further info from others on the WOR iog:

Ivo Ivanov concludes it is this from there:
``FRANCE Dimtse Tigray new clandestine broadcast via TDF Issoudun
1500-1700 15160 ISS 250 kW / 130 deg EaAf Tigrinya Tigray Media House
Good here in Sofia and via SDRs Heimiswil Switzerland and Sokyriany
Ukraine -- 73! Ivo Ivanov``

Chris Smolinski, Maryland: ``Generally a good signal here at 1529 UTC,
but frequent OTHR bursts completely block it out now and then``

Arthur Pozner, near NYC, who discovered it yesterday, Feb 3 at 1620:
``The program yesterday made very frequent announcements of "R. Tigray
Media House". Today it is fading very often and that interference only
lasted for a few minutes at 1525-1530. Sounded like variable white
noise, and it blocked the transmission totally.``

``No one seems to specify explicitly the language heard. Radio T-M-H-
is obviously in English but anything else? They do do English
programming on YouTube. Glenn``

Wolfgang Bueschel, Germany: ``KIWInet option TdOA direction finding
give some - all is probably -, two different disappointing image
outputs. For a 19 meter band of signal direction finding you need a rx
triangle 2500 km distance away at least. Likely Issoudun or Nauen
bcast center origin. FMO is Broadcast Belgium
<http://www.broadcast.be/> <ludo.maes@broadcast.be>
73 wolfgang``

Dr Hansjoerg Biener, Germany: ``Ethiopia (Tigray): The English section
of „Radio Tigrai Media House“ at https://tmhtv.org/ is not too
informative.

https://tmhtv.org/en/2018/05/31/ethiopia-a-stable-peace-or-an-impending-crisis/
does not seem to be against the central government.

https://tmhtv.org/blog/2019/06/07/alarming-ethnic-based-attacks-and-targeted-killings-of-civilians-in-ethiopia/
is critical of the central government/the Amhara state.
There are many uploads to YouTube, including this advertisement for
„T-M-H-R“/“Radio Tigrai Media House“:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UafDL6owQMs.
Judging from the right column, there have been a lot of uploads in
recent days.(Dr Hansjoerg Biener 3 February 2021)``

Last YT is 2 minutes, but only pronouncing the names in English; also
``kilohertz`` presumably about this new SWBC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, Wed Feb 3 at 2305, no signal from VOT English,
checked at UTwente and Brasil SDRs; something`s always erroneous at
Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 335-MCW kHz, Feb 3 at 0702 UT, ND beacon BV, 25 watts from
BatesVille - Almond, Arkansas. I was tuned to 333-USB.

395-MCW kHz, Feb 3 at 0656 UT, ND beacon CA, 25 watts from Newton -
Harvs, CAnsas. I was tuned to 393-USB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2071 monitoring: confirmed Wednesday February
3 at 2100 on WRMI 7780, S8/9+10 into UTwente but noisy.

Also confirmed Wed Feb 3 from 2200:24 on WBCQ 7490.2v direct, S9/+15
but noisy.

Also confirmed Wed Feb 3 at 2300 on WRMI 9955, JBA under jamming at
TWR DR SDR, S9/+15 at Pardinho, Brasil SDR, no jamming audible.

Next, and last: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

** CUBA. 6060, Feb 2 at 0558, RHC still in Spanish ID & IS, but at
0558.5, cut roughly to end of English hour and then 0600 re-opening
English hour. I was hearing no trace of it before 0300, but Ivo Ivanov
thinx it start at 0100; and there is another conflict at 04-05 with
Algeria via France, an hour I was not checking.

Recheck at 0710, ¿qué pasa? 6060 is still on unlike last night, and in
English, good modulation, the best of the lot, as 6000 is off; 6100 //
9700 are both suptorted but 9700 signal holding up to S9+10. 5040 is
unusually still on this late, but in Spanish. Something`s always wrong
at RHC.

Checking 6060 next night, UT Feb 3 at 0200, again no sign of Cuba
here, just JBA Iran; 0315 recheck, now RHC is on with VG signal in
Spanish; so approx. start 0300 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13892, 13829, 13764 S7-S9, 13636, 13573, 13508 trace, all
approx., Feb 2 at 1511, FMish spurblobs with F# tones out of 13700-AM,
at ~64 kHz intervals. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6000, UT Wed Feb 3 from 0420 to 0440, RHC English, checking
for the mid-week edition of Arnie Coro`s `DXers Unlimited`, its former
slot on Tuesday/UT Wednesday broadcasts --- no sign of it, just
various other features including sports report, `Connecting the
Dots`.

However, the Spanish equivalent DX program, `En Contacto` was heard by
Claudio Galaz, Chile, Sunday January 31 from 2340 on 13740, with
typical content, but he does not say who presented it or whether they
said anything about Coro.

Spanish podcasts including `En Contacto` are here:
http://www.radiohc.cu/podcasts
but they are quite sporadic lately, the latest being from 17 enero.
Never the voice of Arnie, but the usual Arnie-like topix including ham
DX-peditions, propagation. I listen carefully to the closing credits,
and Arnie is NOT mentioned; instead, ``escribe: Luís Milán Roldán; su
locutora y amiga: Marta Ríos``.

Has Arnie become a nonentity at RHC? Searching website on Coro brings
up instead a whole bunch of recent COVID-19 stories. As "Coro" in
quotes, zilch. But there may not be anything about the people who do
work there now, not even Marta (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ETHIOPIA [non]. 15160, Feb 2 at 1639, JBA music S6-S7 vs ambient
band noise level S6; gone at 1719 recheck. Investigating, since Arthur
Pozner had reported to the WOR iog at 1603: ``[WOR] Radio Tigray Media
House. New broadcast on 15160 kHz. Strong transmission. Started around
1500 UT. Heard on HF-225 E and a 20 ft. random wire indoor a antenna.
Location is outside of NYC.``

To which Dave Kenny, UK, replied, ``Thanks for the tip, strong signal
here in UK also, from tune-in at 1605 UT with Horn of Africa music and
frequent IDs “Tigray Media House” and “Dimtse Tigray”. 73 Dave``

Nothing listed yet between 15 and 17 on 15160, in HFCC, the latest
dated 27 January; nor in Aoki/NDXC, EiBi. I would have guessed site
Issoudun or Nauen, but those might not be strong into UK. TMH is
apparently well-established on disgraced FB and as a video/web and
satellite broadcaster, but nothing found yet about SW:
https://tmhtv.org/en/about-us/

This implies it`s based in Washington DC, and also a new Feb 1 item
about updating English broadcasts:
https://twitter.com/tmhtvnews?lang=en
This leads to a 24-minute YouTube which indeed starts out in English,
but not about their own broadcasts per se.

Wolfgang Bueschel replies: ``a lot of Ethiopian Political News at
https://twitter.com/tmhtvnews?lang=en
https://tmhtv.org/en/about-us/
https://tmhtv.org/en/topics-issues/
https://rackmintsys.com/
Website shows mail address and international phone call of Ethiopia``

The last one is a website developer in Mekelle - may not be connected
to TMH itself. WB replies again:

``ISS[oudun FRANCE], or GRI[goriopol` PRIDNESTROVYE]?
FMO of Belgium Radio Ludo Maes 15.00-17.00 UT, like entry
SMTWTFS 15:01:45 BRB TIGR 15160 AM XXX
So let`s try KiwiNet TdOA feature next time. 73 wb``

BRB does not disclose transmitter sites (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, Feb 3 at 0206, no signal from WRNO here; but at 0336
via KB0FX SDR in MO, S9+20 with gospel rock (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1476, Feb 3 at 0313, besides the usual lower-band JBA TA
carriers, there is already one on 1476, suspected TWR Benin. I was
hoping to hear it cut on for presumably the first morning show, Hausa
from 0320 but it`s already on. Nothing detectable on the English
frequency 1566. BTW, it`s no accident that 1476 was picked: WRTH 2005
showed 1476 as the main Cotonou outlet of ORTB except it was already
inactive (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 6060, Feb 2 after 0200, I start checking for when
RHC may come on; Iran is there with lots of Qur`aning until it goes
off at 0226*, fair signal into Bonaire and a good idea for RHC to hold
off. Not checked again until 0305, this time direct, to find that RHC
has appeared, VG S9+20/30 and managing to modulate in Spanish, instead
of last night`s dead air for almost 4 hours. 0500 recheck, medianoche
timecheck and more Spanish: I guess another hour before English from
0600 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2071 monitoring, via UTwente SDR:
confirmed Monday February 1 on IRRS 7290 via Bulgaria, starting at
1900:50. The splash from both sides is not so bad this week; 7295 East
Turkistan weaker than usual, and 7280 Vietnam much weaker than usual,
so LSB listening is best. Seems to be intact at spotchex, and not
chopped off short at 1929:50. Earlier, open carrier cut on at
*1856:34; modulation cut on at 1859:49 at end of something, IRRS
sign-on by a different accented voice than usual, really an Italian?
With P O Box contact. 1900:20 FSN headlines before WOR start. Next:

2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE

** VENEZUELA. 6200+RCUSB, Feb 2 at 0156 via Bonaire SDR, ROCV in SAM
mode displays carrier +2.6 Hz: VP S4-S7 noisy, seems to be citing
phone numbers, tropical music; 0159 TC for 58 minutes past the hour,
6200 kHz. I have raised the question whether this be a pirate, lacking
any YV- callsign implying a government-licensed station.

It is true that when it was newly on 6906-RCUSB, it did claim not to
be a pirate with CONATEL authorization pending; and of course it was
relaying FM & AM real stations in El Tigre; isn`t it about time to be
legalized? See this originally from Oct 15:
http://ea1uro.com/radio/rocv/

independiente pronto”.

Noticia actualizada 15 octubre via CADENA DX:

horas!``

Later on CadenaDX FB, it was suggested that Polaco might want to apply
to WBCQ to help engineer the 500 kW.

BTW we are wondering if WBCQ`s purchase of WHRI is still pending,
stalled? Nothing said about it lately. No twits from Allan since
January 20 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Feb 2 at
0320-0324: 531(2), 549, 558(2), 603, 612, 621(2), 639, 684*, 693,
711(2), 747(2), 774(2), 837(2), 881.5-birdie?, 882, 891, 1044, 1125,
1476. If I had the time and/or the patience, I could compute the (2)
SAHs, ranging from ``slow`` to ``medium``. *684 with some music audio,
strongest of the lot, no doubt RNE Spain.

Nothing usually heard on 1476; and there is nothing much in Europe
since ORF Austria destroyed its 60-kW transmitter; instead likely 100
kW TWR BENIN in Hausa, scheduled to start just now at *0320 M-F per
WRTH, finding the schedule, where else? under South Africa on page
494. 1476 is their second Benin transmitter; the first one on 1566 is
also supposed to start at 0320, in English, unheard now, but reported
more often into North America, presumably less unfavorably directed.
As for tonight, I`m rather surprised to find afterwards that the K
index at 03 was 4, with G1 geomag storming. It`s true the northern
Europeans, i.e. UK frequencies were not so strong, but Iberia, NW
Africa still arriving (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA [and non]. 362-MCW kHz, Feb 1 at 0715 UT, dash and YZS, ND
beacon which is 1000 watts from Coral Harbour, Nunavut --- finally a
log from that territory! C.H. is on Southampton Island [colonial
name?] at the north end of Hudson Bay, 3239 km = 2013 statute miles =
1749 nautical miles from Enid. Wikipedia says:

``Coral Harbour (Inuktitut: Salliq/Salliit, Syllabics:
ᓴᓪᓕᖅ/ᓴᓪᓖᑦ),[6][7][8][9] is a small Inuit community that is located on
Southampton Island, Kivalliq Region, in the Canadian territory of
Nunavut. Its name is derived from the fossilized coral that can be
found around the waters of the community which is situated at the head
of South Bay.`` More about it here:
https://coralharbour.ca/
--- and not to be confused with another Coral Harbour in somewhat less
Arctic Bahamas. This one is mixing with AA, which is in Fargo, North
Dakota on 365 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6060, February 1 at *0315 approx., reactivated RHC is on with
open carrier. Exploring when it may start, I had turned on the extra
ATS-909 with whip antenna only a few minutes earlier to nothing, but
now the frequency quietens with carrier. I let it run, and it turns
out it`s dead air only for hours and hours! 0325, 0415, 0450, 0506,
0522, 0657 ---! Think of all the nutritious meals semi-starved Cubans
could have been served for the cost of all this 250+ kWh wasted juice!
Something`s always wrong at RHC.

At 0657, besides 6060 deadair I check all the others and find English
still emanating on 5040, 6000, 6100, 9700; but at 0708 recheck all
these including 6060 are OFF. The final repeat at 07-08 UT during
Standard Time is certainly iffy. Something`s always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. Doug Smith, FL/ON, asks, UT Mon Feb 1 at 0223, ``I haven't
heard Arnie on the radio for some time now. Do we know if he has
retired? There is no one else doing his DX program. D Brown.``

I replied, ``Doug, I think he has been semi? retired for quite a while
and/or in ill health. I haven`t tried to hear him in English or
Spanish lately, but when last checked the programs were still on,
mostly Marta Ríos in Spanish reading his scripts. Did you mean
``some``one else instead of no one? DXers Unlimited totally missing?
Glenn``

Before any reply, I start to check this out in addition to the dead
air on 6060. The weekend edition of DXers Unlimited had been appearing
during the first half of the English hour on Sundays into UT Mondays,
as early as :09 to as late as :23 per DX/SWL/MEDIA PROGRAMS, so with
6000 managing to modulate in English, I monitor starting at 0408 UT
Mon Feb 1: `The Week in Cuba` until 0414; `Mailbag` with ``Ed Newman``
from 0415, soon replying to a listener, ``Arnie Coro has been ill;
he`s home resting and recuperating.`` By 0428, the YL with the
annoying voice is reading a script about Star Wars movies, etc., etc.
0445 finally music starts.

So, no DXUL. Arnie had long been working-from-home anyway, feeding via
snazzy fibre-optic cable, but apparently now he has even been unable
to send in scripts for someone else to read. The mit-week edition
typically appeared about halfway into the English hours on Tuesdays,
into WZ Mittwoch, so check then too. I haven`t looked for `En
Contacto`, his Spanish DX program, but approx. times for that were
Sundays 1440, 2340, UT Mondays 0140. He also did a science show on
Saturdays, `Breakthrough`` --- is that suspended too? Anyhow, despite
certain policy differences, we wish him well (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13430-trace, 13497, 13565 S9, 13632-3, 13767-8 S9+10, 13835
S9, 13897, 13966-7, 14028-trace, all approx., Feb 1 at 1538 during
`Sonido Cubano` music, spurblobs out of RHC 13700-AM, with signature
F# tone; distorted but readable best in FM, not AM modes the first-
and second-order ones. Strongest ones quite broad, but approx.
intervals of 67.5 kHz. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15700, Feb 1 at 1545, *no* signal from CRI English relay,
which is usually a bigsig, often with sufficient modulation.
Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN. This could be appended to my next log of Urumqi or
Kashgar, but why wait? These are the people and culture the ChiCom are
trying to wipe out by brainwashing, genocide:
Uyghur Folk Song Mitiz Meshrep
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Hef5OXHr5I
YT will of course sidebar many more examples (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. John Carver replies January 31: ``Re today's WOR
pirate report. For some unknown reason Sycko Radio is pronounced
Psycho Radio.

As for the report on Zekey's Goat Cheese Radio --- I might be really
reaching on this one, but the most successful and well-known commune
in New Mexico was New Buffalo. When it was formed, they got into an
argument about whether they should raise beef or something else for
meat. One of the early members was a "goat whisperer" and he convinced
them to go with goats. Goats weren't real popular in that area but
they raised goats, sold goat meat, goat milk and --- lots of goat
cheese. As I work through the back emails I will watch for any other
references to Zekey and see if they might be commune-related. John``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U K [non]. 17545.007, Feb 1 at 1455, HOA talk and bit of music
S9-S4, slightly off-frequency until cut off at 1459.5*. Per Aoki/NDXC,
it`s BBC Somali via UAE at 1430-1500; also at 1100-1130 via
Madagascar, plus Saturdays only UAE starting at 1130 filling in the
gap - for silly ballgames? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 382-MCW kHz, Feb 1 at 0715 UT, ND beacon SP, which is 25
watts from Springfield, Illinois. I was tuned to 380-USB.

353-MCW kHz, Feb 1 at 0717 UT, mixture of NDBs IN in INternaional
Falls, Minnesota; and LI in LIttle Rock, Arkansas; overlapping at
first they sounded like ``IOI``.

350-MCW kHz, Feb 1 at 0719 UT, NDB LA under near-local RG in OKC; but
no LA listed on this or 351, 352 kHz. ?? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4033-USB, Sunday January 31 at 2308, MARS net with AAR6TB
and AAR6DG contacting, one or both sounding like NCS. I was of course
patrolling for pirates around here but none now.

My last log of AAR6TB was in April 2012y! As in DXLD 12-15:

``Texas Army MARS website search on AAM6RE leads to Ken Miller, a.k.a.
AAR6TB, Region Emergency Officer. One gets a lot more hits searching
on that second call, such as this:
https://www.txarmymars.org/news/news.php?id=138
concerning Collin Country, which is just north of Dallas near the KAIJ
ruins.`` But now Firefox warns of a potential security risk at that
site. Websearch on AAR6TB leads to this:

``Submitted by AAR6TB on Tue, 2014-08-26 20:05 --- HELLO MY NAME IS
KEN AND I'M THE SYSOP OF ARMY MARS RMS TRIMODE STATION AAR6TB...``
https://winlink.org/content/rms_trimode_station_aar6tb
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2071 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
January 31 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6159.935, but not from 2300: no signal
thru 2305, but recheck 2310, now we`re on in progress, so playback may
have started on time before transmitter cut on. Earlier at 2258, when
the WBCQ IS & ID loop should have been radiating, I was getting some
weak unresolved SSB 2-way circa 6162.

Also confirmed UT Monday February 1 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG S9+20

words are identical except for one letter! There could also be
squeaming? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Hauser
** CANADA. 242-MCW kHz, Jan 31 at 0744 UT, ND beacon dash and XC,
which is 500 watts from Cranbrook BC; undermixing with FS, which is
really on 245 from Sioux Falls SD, a regular.

263-MCW kHz, Jan 31 at 0747 UT, dash and YGK, 230-watt NDB from
Kingston, Ontario; presumably this tho copied as YMK, one dit off.

341-MCW kHz, Jan 31 at 0754 UT, dash and ZLP, mixing with my local EI
Enid, and its #1 competitor OIN in Oberlin, Kansas. ZLP is 40 watts
from Toronto - Meadowvale, Ontario, and per dxinfocentre.com ``to be
decommissioned 2021-02-25``; pleased to have caught in time.
Distancefromto goes to a Meadowvale beyond Ottawa, not Toronto;
distance from Toronto is 1764 km = 1096 stmi or 27.4 miles per watt
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA [non?]. 11590, Jan 31 at 1602, Chinese; in this case not sure
if RFA via TINIAN as sked this hour daily, or CNR1 jammer (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6060, Jan 31 at 0515, RHC English is on again via frequency
reactivated last night; maybe starts at 0500 for English? If not
Spanish earlier.

5040, 6000, 6060, 6100, 6145 or 9700, Sunday January 31 at 0803 when I
am unfortunately still awake, all RHCs are off when Esperanto is
supposed to air on one of them. (However, SW Radiogram has just
started on WRMIs 5850 & 7730). Something`s always wrong at RHC.

15140 // weaker 11760, Sun Jan 31 at 1602, this airing of Esperanto is
starting a bit late with themesong and sign-on (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 13496, 13564, 13632 S9, 13768 S9, 13837, 13906 all approx.,
Jan 31 at 1518, FMish RHC spurblobs out of 13700-AM, with reconfirmed
F# tones; approx. 68-kHz intervals, the fringe ones JBA traces.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15700, Jan 31 at 1558, CRI English relay with discussion
ending just in time as `The World Today`, rather than a 5-minute
language-lesson buffer; S9+30, somewhat distorted and JBA F# tone like
on the 13 MHz spurs. Mod stops by 1600 but carrier stays on a while.
Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1230 kHz, Jan 31 at 0738-0742 UT, concentrated continuous
listening to my R75 with E-W longwire for any sign of the KCUP Toledo
Oregon DX test, but nothing. That`s enough for me, but I have already
heard it via remotes over a megameter away. Some guys were going to
record the entire 8 hours and sift for it later; beyond me. Fleshing
out my previous report starting two hours before the official test:

It so happens that there is a KiwiSDR in Newport OR, which
city-to-city is only 6 miles from Toledo. Near-local quality KCUP it
uppix but still with QRM audible under.

Surprised to be hearing Xmasmx! That`s the kind of thing out-of-season
DX testers sometimes employ since it stands out sorethumbly. Could
this be an intentional prélude to the test, or would KCUP really be
playing that for local audience a month+ later?

0409: ``This is K-Cup``; ``O Little Town of Bethlehem``
0414: ``K-cup`` 2-syllable ID; ``I`ll Be Home for Xmas``
0418: ``O, Tannenbaum`` in German
0421: ``K-Cup``, PSA about adoption
0424: ``White Xmas``
0426: ``Favourite Things``
0428: ``I Want a Hippopotamus for Xmas``
0431: ``Silent Nite``
0433: ID about enjoying something
0442: ``K-Cup``, heart & stroke PSA; ``Lifestyles of the Central
Oregon Coast``
0448: ``We Three Kings``

0600 again listening on local remote as DX test officially starts,
robo-announced as such, Morse ID as VVV DE KCUP with repetitions.

At 0601 I switch to one of the KiwiSDRs in Northern Utah, labeled as:
``© bluebison.net Northern Utah SDR KiwiSDR #1 Corinne, Utah U.S.A.
(TCI-530 Omni) Corinne, Utah | Grid: DN31uo, ASL: 1310, [map]``. The
map link shows its G.C. as: 41-35-24 N / 112-16-12 W, or decimally:
41.59 / -112.27. I have not tried to compute exact distance with G.C.
but city-to-city and distancefromto.net worx out to 632.58 statute
miles. This is the one I checked earlier during Xmasmx with no go.

Now I *am* hearing KCUP over a megameter away, tuning LSB = USB mode:
0601: Morse ID, sweeps
0602.5: phone-off-hook, upward sweeps
0606: 1 kHz tone
0647: another final check into Utah: upward sweeps, 0650 tone.
Simultaneously have local Newport SDR still running, and easily
compared and confirmed as //, tho hardly necessary after copying
definite KCUP Morse ID in Utah. BTW, about 3 other further-flung DXers
were also running Newport on 1230! But not this Corinne.

At first I was reluctant to try Corinne as it might be too close to
the UT on 1230 in Murray, KJJC in the greater SLC market, but not a
problem. Murray is SE of SLC; Corinne is quite further north, 30 miles
from Idaho. For this path, Corinne #1 is at optimum distance, not too
far, but not too close still to qualify as real DX.

Meanwhile I have also checked several other possible remotes, to find
no KCUP or not funxioning: in CO, TX, AZ, HI, NZ. I was about to try
VE6JY in Alberta but Malwarebytes blox, claiming possible trojan. Don
Moman thinx it`s OK anyway, and any malware would have had to come
from Kiwinet updates.

At 0615 UT I try Prince George BC`s VE7AV remote, and there is KCUP:
beeps going upward // Newport; 0618 CCI in Korean! That would be
intervening KWYZ in Everett WA; 0620 tone; distance city-to-city 644
miles with no G.C. provided by this remote.

FCC shows G.C. for KCUP:
44° 37' 52.00" N Latitude 44.631111
123° 56' 40.00" W Longitude -123.944444

Here`s the latest notification about the test, including grafik of the
``Cup`` logo:
https://groups.io/g/IRCA/message/16676
Under the rules, as an NRC member, I could claim a new graveyard
record distance for KCUP beyond Tim Hall`s standing one, except I am
sure others heard it further, even without a remote. I would however
like a QSL for picking it up in BC and UT (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
