** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey, Aug 13 at 1329-1332: 12820 best in Chinese, weaker 13020, JBA carriers on 13160, 12500; only one in the 10-11s is 10960, S6-S9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 7157, 7215, 7335, 7435, Aug 13 at 0605, noise jamming all against nothing, no hams to be heard around the first two, no OCB on the other two. Something`s always wrong at the DentroCuban Jamming Command (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15370, Aug 13 at 2010, RHC with S8-S9 of dead air instead of scheduled Portuguese; but 15140 is funxional in French. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 1300, Aug 13 at 0618 UT, ``Radio Mexicana, Nuestras Noticias``, but not news right now, back to Mexmx. Per IRCA Log, that is the official station slogan of XEP, Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, claims 40 kW power. Dominating the frequency here, never mind Tulsa (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NETHERLANDS [non]. As I first post this more than a semihour before, a reminder that FRSH, Free Radio Service Holland is getting an hour on WRMI courtesy of TRSW, 0200 UT Saturday August 14 on 5800. Last week for Cupid Radio was also // on 7780 with better signal aimed thisaway (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 18130-USB, Aug 13 at 2007, KM6TS with brief CQs over and over, call always fonetik but never with QTH; the OSOB. Sounds familiar? Yes, seems I log him once a year on 18 MHz: also 18150-USB, Sept 27, 2019 at 2158, ``This guy is: QUICK JR, ELLIOT P, KM6TS, PALMDALE, CA 93550``. And 18140-USB, April 17, 2020 at 1812; no, KM6++ not Midway Island any more (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2098 monitoring: From: ``Richard Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, From the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees. Dear Glenn: Here is my only frequency I monitored and confirmed the frequency 5850 kHz that I tuned in and heard World of Radio #2098, before 1030 UTC was off air no over comer was heard, then the computer started the signal at 1030 UTC, World of Radio #2098, was playing on August 11 UTC 2021 until 1059 UTC, 73’s, Richard, August 11, 2021`` WORLD OF RADIO 2099 monitoring: confirmed first SWBC, UT Fri Aug 13 at 0130 on WRMIs direct: 5850 VG S9+20/30 and 7780 S9+10. Pretty good signal now if only 5 kW as Ivo says, but not 500 kW again yet. And only 14 Hz off-frequency! WBCQ own schedule does not show which languages at which times, but Aoki says Spanish at 0600-0757. This could be a CCI problem for Cuban Spy Numbers after 0700. However, HFCC claims this bihour be in English, only 250 kW at 280 degrees not toward any SS-land; while Spanish at other hours should be on 76, 180 or 220 azimuths (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7489.9v), UT Sat Aug 14 at 0000, WBCQ webcast of `AAAWWW`, the whole show a conversation between Allan and `Pirate Joe`, J.P. Ferraro on the phone --- -9180 line is hummy so change to -0982. We hardly hear a word from Angela altho she still gets top billing. The guys are reminiscing on the 50th anniversary of Aug 12, 1971, when their first pirate radio stations were busted by the FCC. Do you remember this? that? Back and forth. A lot of details I don`t try to copy. They had been on the air since 1969 in Yonkers NY, first on MW 1620 when the band ended at 1600; then to FM 108.1 but soon 87.9 to avoid causing any QRM. 50 watts power carried a lot further on FM than on AM with no ground plane. Mentioned calls briefly: WFSR-AM as in Falling Star Radio or Free Speech Radio; WSEX-FM; WKOV-AM and one more I missed. Finally down to business at 0055 about the axual FCC raid. The Feds visited Allan`s place at 5 am, and JP`s at 8 am on the same day. They let the air out of one tire of JP`s 1953 Plymouth so he couldn`t flee. The two were handcuffed together, spent a few hours in jail along with rapists, who avoided them once they said they were in for pirate radio. Pled guilty of federal misdemeanors, violating Communications Act of 1934; Allan`s dad, a lawyer, bailed them out. Got probation for one year, no fines: these are the roots of WBCQ. They do never get to later pirate activities long before WBCQ and WHVW would be licensed. Update on the SuperStition: still waiting for replacement PA tube, meanwhile on unspecified low-power backup. 0059 prayer, 0101 join Hal Turner late as seems to be the case every week now. John Carver`s version: ``Tonight's show started on time on 6160 and 7490. Allan later announced they were also broadcasting on 3265 and 4790. Allan and Angela in the studio. Opening talk about the heat in Northern Maine-ninety degrees today. Some more talk about Angela's affinity for the small wild animals around the station. Main topic of tonight's show is to be free radio and Allan starts with the history of his first pirate stations when he was a boy. Pirate Joe is to join him on the phone for the talk. Phone call at 0010 has problems with the audio so Allan has him call in on another line. The two of them start to talk of their early radio stations as yesterday was the fiftieth anniversary of the FCC raid that shut them down. Noise starts to come up around 0018 making it difficult to copy as the volume on the phone is so low it's difficult to hear Pirate Joe. They talk about their first meeting and the early days of their pirate stations. Signal covered over by some sort of noise around 0040 that just gets worse. Can't copy a thing. The same noise is on 6160 and 4790. I go back to 7490 and listen to the rest of the show but all I can hear is noise. Sorry. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9455, Aug 13 at 2003 check, this WRMI is still off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also NETHERLANDS [non] This report despatched at 0128 UT August 14

** ALASKA. 9580, Aug 12 at 1406, S8-S9 vs S6 noise level, ``New Life Station`` mentioned, i.e. KNLS English hour as scheduled; off the back. Not to be confused with a ghost of R. Australia (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CANADA. 382-MCW kHz, Aug 12 at 0549 UT, ND beacon dash and YPL, which is 1000 watts from Pickle Lake, Ontario; one of my winter regulars, now barely upshowing again, JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 11840, Thu Aug 12 at 1550, Station YHWH with ``tonight`s lexure``, anti-Christ. Tnx to tip from Rick Barton, AZ a few minutes ago on the WOR iog. As usual, AZ remote hardly hears it nor the other I check in MO; but sufficient S8-S9 at #3 of VE6JY Alberta. That should tell us something about skip distance from true whatever QTH. Left on in background noting cutoff about 1638*. He`s usually reported midday on Saturday, but also other days? 25m band seems his favorite then, a different frequency each time (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 515-MCW kHz, Aug 12 at 0545 and still 1400 UT, NDB in Ponca City, PN, is back on the air after several days off. What next? 255 Stillwater and 341 EI Enid, still missing, but on 341-MCW, OIN Oberlin KS is JBA (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Wed Aug 11 at 1447, NO signal from LRA36 into two Brazilian remotes. Wed used to be their primary day, last week followed by additional Thu-Fri-Sat-Sun, but not Mon or Tue. Wonder if they were running out the clock before a prolonged hiatus? Maybe not. Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain, forwards a note in the form of jpg which I translate:
``THE NEW LRA 36 --- Today 16:23 --- Dear Audience, we inform you that due to adverse meteorological conditions, unfortunately we are not able to emit the program on shortwave. Our sincere apologies for this; we are working to resume the service again. Thanks for your unconditional support`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, Aug 11 at 2302 and later, NO signal from RHC English, but audible on noisy 5040. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [and non]. 9830, Aug 11 at 2157, VOT IS and IDs in English, on the air today after at least two days missing; S9/+20 into Maryland SDR but undermodulated; still past 2230 COVID-19 PSA while I was mainly listening to the competition from Spain; 2250 direct, already dead air and soon off. Had a much stronger signal here than REE 17855, equally strong there and louderly modulated (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2098 monitoring: as usual I sleep thru the 1030 Wed on WRMI 5850, August 11. Did anyone hear it? When it is on, I wonder if anyone is axually listening, by chance or intentionally, in the Pacific or east Asia when this is prime evening time? Confirmed Wed Aug 11 after 2100 on WRMI 7780, good S8-S9 via NA5B SDR in Maryland which shows carrier offset only +0.2 Hz. And about 21 seconds later on WBCQ 7489.9, carrier +1.5 Hz; same meter strength S8-S9 but then to +10. Louder modulation on WBCQ. Both marred by storm crashes as there is a huge line from Louisiana to Vermont including the WDC area. Next: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: no new contributions this week which might have been via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA. Next new WOR 2099 should be ready by early UT Friday August 13 for download and first SWBC at 0130 on WRMIs 5850 & 7780 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9455, Aug 11 at 2258, this WRMI is still off like last night; #5 transmitter supposedly 24h mainly TOMBS or SMTV, but briefer segments of Family Radio, RAE. 285 degrees, same azimuth as 7730 #13 but always much weaker than it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4790, Aug 11 at 0615, TOMBS via WBCQ, allegedly 50 KW, is VP, with some CODAR QRM both plus and minus. So this is not so ideal a frequency after all (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4840, Aug 11 at 0616, WWCR with S9+30 of DEAD AIR AGAIN, rather than TOMBS. Standard remarx (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Altice/Suddenlink cable TV interrupts whatever channel we are watching and presumably all of them for a nationwide emergency alert test, Aug 11 at 1822 UT -- as we dodge for the mute button, and also quickly turn on the R75 for a MW bandscan, but by then, no sign of the test, all ops normal. The nominal time for it was 1820 UT; it seems that overtaking OTA broadcasting and cable is now an afterthought to these: https://www.fema.gov/press-release/20210611/fema-and-fcc-plan-nationwide-emergency-alert-test-aug-11-test-messages-will (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2348 UT August 11

** ANDORRA [non]. As previously reported, I heard the R. Andorra special via AUSTRIA 6180 via a remote receiver. I did not send them a reception report nor request a QSL. However, it was announced that the ``QSLs`` would be generic, not personalized to name the recipient, so I am no less generic in claiming this as it might as well be mine, one of several reproduxions of it on the web: https://aer.org.es/archivos/30542 In fact it does not say it`s a QSL or verifying anything, more like a publicity poster. BTW, I am not put off by kelka shows in French: it is probably my fourth-best language (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Aug 10 at 1510, no signal into Brasil SDR from LRA36 this Tuesday; we`ll see if it`s back Wednesday, which had been its #1 DOW, until last week it kept showing up on Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun; but not Mon (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 4765, Aug 11 at 0126, no signal from R. Progreso, nominally *0030-0400*. Gone too are its scratchyspurs 17-18 kHz above and below. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15370, Aug 10 at 1854, RHC in Kriyol // 15140, but 15370 is not supposed to be on yet, rather from *1930 in French starting Euro service. So I keep on it for English to get duplicated too, but 15370 goes off at 1900* just as English start on 15140. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9535 & 9710, Aug 11 at 0132, both RHC Spanish 31 mb frequencies are missing; 11850 is S9/+10 but as so often is JBM and suptorted; JBA parasitic spur carrier also on 11840. Something`s always wrong at RHC. Not missing are 13740 & 11670 in Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11760, Aug 11 at 0134, RHC in English! instead of Spanish, undermodulated and with humbuzz much like that infesting 6060 after 0500. // 6000 is much louder and 6165 less so. Feedlines mixed up? Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9580, Aug 11 at 0133, CRI English relay is S9+30/40, undermodulated and slightly distorted. But sufficient with volume turned up, American accent about American events; could it really be CHINA?? Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba; while RHC itself is missing from 9535 & 9710 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KASHMIR [non]. 15170, Aug 10 at 1508, Kashmir Civitas weekly clandestine reconfirmed this Tuesday, via IRRS presumably Romania, usual Urdu talk and music, VG S9/+10 into UTwente. But at 1523 already, sudden cut to classic song in English ``This Magic Moment``, and more rock to 1529* with no announcements. Unknown whether KashCiv show were short this week or something went wrong to chop it, defaulting to fill music (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, Aug 10 circa 2210, VOT is missing again from North American English. Not even a signal at UTwente. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2098 monitoring: ``From: Richard Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, From the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees. Dear Glenn: This time I made my loggings that I confirmed hearing World of Radio #2098, getting close to the mile stone program level next two programs, Details: 0130-0159, static noise moderate, 5850 kHz, 0136, 0145 (55343), 0159, 5850 kHz, August 6 UTC 2021 [Fri] 0130-0159, static noise heard, aurora, 9395 kHz, 0131 - (45343), 0155 (45433), 0159, 9395 kHz, August 7 UTC 2021 [Sat] 2230-2259, voice heard, fading, 9955 kHz, 2231, 2245, 2259, 2259, 9955 kHz, August 8 UTC 2021 [Sun] 0030-0059, S7 signal, 7730 kHz, 0044 (45442), (35432), 0059, 7730 kHz, August 9 UTC 2021 [Mon] 0230-0259, static QRN, 5800 kHz, 0230 (55433), (55334), 0258, 5800 kHz, August 9 UTC 2021 [Mon] (Lemke, Richard -AB)`` Next: 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: no new contributions this week which might have been via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7489.9v), Aug 9 at 2329, after listening to the secret repeat of the first half of `UBMP` on WBCQ webcast, Monday at 2300, a spot commercial for Progressive Insurance, immediately followed by the regular 2330 show `Camp Constitution Radio`. It`s hard to believe that a major advertiser such as P.I. would intentionally be sponsoring such an obscure political SW show. What is going on? Have they bought some spots on WBCQ and one happens to be inserted here [as I noticed once before: maybe every week]? Spot advertising on US SW stations is exceeding rare, not to be confused with commercials within a totally-sponsored syndicated show; tho some appear amid otherwise unrelated musical filler on WRMI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9455, Aug 11 at 0131, tonight`s missing WRMI frequency, while neighbor 9395 achieves S9+10 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 7506-7508, Aug 10 at 2230, multiple random tones, or rather carriers on slightly different frequencies, at UTwente audible in SSB or SynchAM modes, but not plain AM. Will not lock on to one specific carrier frequency. Not CW, i.e. Morse with a message. Seems unrelated to weak signal on 7505, which is RFA Tibetan via Tajikistan this hour only; and/or ChiCom jamming. The tones could be a different kind of jamming, but they continue past 2300 when 7505 has gone off. In fact, beepery still at 2345. Not a UTwente artifact, as same thing heard on nearby Nordhorn, Germany SDR at 2349. Normally I employ remote SDRs just to check something out on a specific frequency, rather than full bandscanning which I do myself to discover new things: but the noise level here is so bad and the propagation currently so poor that I was bandscanning 7300+ up at UTwente, with probably more to come (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0430 UT August 11
