** ANTARCTICA [and non]. 15475.98-CUSB, March 27 at 1535, LRA36 is on
for its Saturday repeat of Wednesday, as first heard via Brasília SDR
where I can ``camp`` tnx to another user in Salvador already tuned to
it; later when they quit I take it over myself.

Most or all of the other RXs are tuned to ham frequencies, primarily
``WSPR-autorun`` -- what`s that about, tying up so much bandwidth?
Weak Signal Propagation Reporter, ``whisper``:
https://hackaday.com/2021/03/25/the-50-ham-wspr-ing-around-the-world/
Tnx to Clara Listensprechen for that link.

LRA36 is only S2-S3 with music, then concluding program saying it will
repeat Saturday at 15 horas --- voilà, ou voici. By 1539 the Esperanza
song. 1542 ``sign-on`` again with LRA36 and Radio Nacional Arcángel
San Gabriel IDs, in Spanish, German, English, and Russian? Music, and
1549 the quadrilingual IDs again; mentions Día Mundial del Agua =
World Water Day; when is/was that? March 22: I am totally in favor of
H2O! I find it very useful, even essential, every day:
https://www.worldwaterday.org/
Then Esperanza/Antártida song, greeting from the 17th program =
décimosétimo. As was mentioned on miércoles.

By 1555, some ACI has arisen from Chinese music on 15480. Now I can
get on Pardinho SDR and listen to it directly. Traditional but
unsounds like Firedragon, rather typical end-of-hour filler. No
announcements until cut modulation and 1600* a few seconds later cut
carrier. Nothing to account for this, not even as jammer, in B-20 or
A-21 schedules. It`s already A-21 in China, after midnight? Not
really, 01 UT March 28 is the official start everywhere.

15475.98 at 1601, LRA36 is S5-S7 into Pardinho but by 1609 I notice
it`s gone (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 15480 unscheduled: see ANTARCTICA [and non]

** CUBA. 15230, March 27 at 1505, S9/+10 of dead air, still on after
presumed nominal 1500*. 15140 is S9+10/20 somewhat undermodulated.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [non]. 341-MCW kHz, March 27 at 0545 UT, Enid`s EI NDB is
silent again after brief reactivation yesterday. Now hearing only OIN,
Oberlin KS (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

March 27 at 1322, the 1300 on WRMI 15770, good S9+10 today instead of
JBA.

Also confirmed Sat Mar 27 at 1700 UT on WRN webcast, for one more
week; to become 1600 UT from next week with BST in effect. Next:

** U S A. 15825, 13845, 12160, 9980, March 27 at 1827, all four WWCR
frequencies are vacant. The top two may be JBA carriers in the
daytime, but the lower two should be audible if on. 12050 WEWN at
similar megameter distance is VG, having escaped tornado outbreak.
What`s wrong? Blitzortung shows lightning storm right over
mid-Tennessee, and a worse one along the TN/NC border. WWCR closed
down as precaution, or has it been stricken? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** AUSTRALIA. 12365-USB, March 26 at 1444, down-under accent with
marine weather, S1-S3; lots of geo coords cited such as 50S/134E,
which is about halfway between South Australia and Antarctica; high
seas forecast. EiBi shows it`s VMC Charleville, Queensland (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6060, March 26 at 0614, RHC in English with humbuzz, // clear
6100 and overmodulated 5040. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9700, March 27 at 0140, RHC manages correct language English,
tonight, instead of TV novela audio last night, S9+20 here // 6000
S9+40 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 12360, March 27 at 0141, CRI English relay is S9, harmonic of
S9+20 6180 X 2. Also checked X 3 = 18540 but not heard; possibly with
a little sporadic E. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR) See also USA [non] 6080

** GUATEMALA. 4055, March 27 at 0139, no signal from R. Verdad: gone
again. A report to the WOR iog at 0609 UT March 26: ``Radio Verdad,
Chiquimula, out of air again --- Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain: Asking
via email, Édgar Madrid says transmitter burned out again. Here the
mail from the station: "Se nos volvió a quemar. En eso estoy. Édgar
Madrid"`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6960-AM, UT Sat March 27 at 0129, S6-S8 pirate
music, bet it`s Ball Smacker Radio, which with eQSL last week said
they`d be back Fridays at 9 on EDT on this frequency. Pirates not
usually so open about scheduling plans, but getting bolder in view of
lack of FCC SW enforcement. Some rapid-clicking QRM for a minute or
two until 0134. 0137 yes, B-S-R- ID by YL and QSL offer prompting
guesses about the musical topic, like last week it was ``green``, but
I don`t recognize any of the tunes this week until 0152, ``Who Ya
Gonna Call?``, a song with spoken parts, faux phone number sounded
like 1-500-989-3500. 0200 again asking for reports, signing off? Not
quite, more music, then 0205 SSTV now hitting S9+10. Pause and 0207
another SSTV image ending at 0209 and carrier off at 0209.5*. Now
let`s see what others reported at:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,79542.0.html
Keyword has been ``call`` and SSTV shows `Get Smart` with shoephone
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 1140, March 26 at 1755 UT on caradio, NO signal from KRMP
OKC; sure it`s off as when on, 1 kW groundwave is equal to or greater
than 1150 KSAL KS, and much more than 1120 Tulsa. Recheck on DX-398 at
home, 2223, now it`s on with ``Heart & Soul 92.1 and 1140,`` OKC
traffic. 92.1 is, natch, a mere translator wagging this dog.

While it was off, wished I were in a low-noise area in case GW or SW
remnant of KXRB Sioux Falls could make it here, as it has been at
night when not supposed to: unlikely, but half its frequency 570 WNAX
Yankton SD is always audible under KLIF. Nothing directly between OK
and SD on 1140 but MO and AR might be problem; and closer 50 kW 1110
KFAB Omaha barely daytimes here (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960, Fri Mar 26 at 2331, VOT is on today, VG
S9+35 into UTwente, yet Chinese undercurrent is audible from East
Turkistan, standard remark, i.e. CCCCCCI, or C6I which means ChiCom
Chinese language Co-Channel Interference. VOT plugs itself as ``with
you every hour of the clock`` [NO, it is not], then 2-minute segment,
``Did You Know That?``, but no idea about what, as I was not severely
concentrating vs the heavy accent. A bit of music, 2339 ``VOT, always
by your side`` [No, it is not]. Checked again at 2355 as IS is still
playing, 2356 starts interspersing IDs in German, ``Die Stimme der
Türkei`` twice or thrice before 0000 March 27 opening the spurious
German hour with Nachrichten rather than satellite info. Still on past
0015, but finally went off sometime before next check 0026 when a good
signal is still on the meter, but now in Chinese. Something`s always
erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [non]. 6080, March 26 at 0612, VOA SAO TOME in English,
marred by pulse jamming. I think I have figured it out: leapfrog
mixing product of the strong jammers against nothing on 5980 and 6030
another 50 kHz away. Broadcast signals leapfrog; why not jammers?
Something`s always wrong at the DCJC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

First broadcasts confirmed UT Friday March 26 at 0130 on WRMIs: 7780
S7-S9 poor here off the side and seems undermodulated, but VG on 5850,
S9+20/30 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (7490), UT Sat March 27 from 0000, WBCQ webcast of `AAAWWW`
casually monitored as I am paying more attention to MSNBC. Starts with
temp 80 in FLA after hi of 90? First topic is cassette tapes, sparked
by news of death of inventor. This goes on surprisingly long, still
0024, caller 0025, into EL versions, 8-trax, etc. 0047 Angela
complaining about masked people in fast cars. Too much of the time
Angela is yelling and overmodulating into the red, even worse when
both of them are talking at same time with no stereo separation. 0056
Allan briefly mentions death of George Zeller, a supporter of free
radio, 0059 benedixion and immediately into Hal Turner blasting
pencil-necked geeks. Here`s John Carver`s version:

``Tonight's show started on time on 6160 and 7490 with 6160 having the
better signal. Allan and Angela in the studio and apparently back in
FLA again. Allan is shirtless in the studio. Opening talk is reading
an article about the man that invented the cassette tape and later
CDs. Long talk about cassette tapes follows and they mention several
variations.

Phone call at 0026 which continues the cassette talk followed
immediately by another call at 0037 which continues on with the
cassette talk until the caller mentions politics which gets Angela
started. She continues till 0052 when Allan starts reading emails.
First email is political which causes Angela to comment again. A few
emails later Allan mentions the loss of George Zeller and talks of him
briefly. Closing prayer at 0059 and closing comments cut off at 0100
and move to dead air as happened last week also. John, Mid-North
Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, March 27 at 0157, two WRNO Worldwide IDs overlapping
as I tune in, asking for reports, but cut off 0159 to start ``Welcome
to Maranatha Radio with pastor Ray Bentley`` citing Philippians. Had
been VP to JBA signal lately but now it`s S9+20; jacked up closer to
full power or just improved propagation? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1540.197 approx., March 27 at 0217 UT, way-off-frequency het
against 1540.00 stations is back, as previously traced, WKVQ,
Eatonton, Georgia. Not present every night, and should never be as a
10 kW daytimer direxional west (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 12152-USB, March 27 at 1443, 2-way in colloquial

** CUBA. 13700, March 25 at 1431, RHC is S9+30, plenty strong yet no
spur galaxy around it today. // 15140 during `Sonido Cubano` music is
S9+10 but overmodulated/distorted. Something`s still always wrong at
RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 12360, March 26 at 0112, CRI English relay at S9+10/20
somewhat undermodulated yet louder than S9+20 6180 of which this is
X2. 6180 has QRM from Brasil or even CRI East Turkistan; 12360 in the
clear but some deep fading. I should WOOBandscan around here more
often. CRI relays on 5990 and 5910 have also harmonicized on 11980 and
11820.

Shortly in A21, 12360 and 6180 will be gone, and so will 5910 and
11820 as CRI/HABana as usual ascends to 9580 at 01-03, and 9790 at
03-05 whose 19-20 MHz harmonix are unlikely to propagate except maybe
for a lucky summer sporadic E opening (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11840, March 26 at 0116, RHC is S9 with suptorted Spanish
modulation, and also S9 on 11860, but QRMing the noise jamming against
nothing --- or rather Cuba is jamming itself, yay! These two are the
parasitic spurs 10 kHz from fundamental 11850 which is S9+30 and
suptorted. For quite some time 11850 was parasite-free, but now has
resumed better than ever; as they used to be JBA carriers with
modulation hard to detect. Have they reswapped different transmitters?
Meanwhile, // fundamental 11760 is S9+10 and undermodulated; 11670 is
S9+10/20 undermodulated and distorted. Somethings` always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9700, March 26 at 0124, something very strange which has got
to be RHC transmitter, but not in English as scheduled, left to 6000
only. S9+10 with drama dialog in Spanish but long pauses of background
noises, music. Smax of TV soundtrack on a novela! Also overmodulated,
distorted. Not // RHC Spanish either, 11760 etc., nor the domestic SW
frequencies 5025, 4765. A totally wrong program feed is going into and
out of this unit. Still thus past 0217. Something`s always wrong at
RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 9590, March 26 at 0122, weak S7-S9 YL in Spanish
with flutter; still past 0132+. It`s CRI scheduled at 01-03 from
Kashgar. Here`s something else about SW City, also land of ChiCom
imperialist genocide against the Uyghurs, I happened to see on CNN:

China's crackdown in Xinjiang has separated Uyghur children from their
parents. CNN found two of them - CNN

https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/18/china/xinjiang-uyghur-families-china-amnesty-report-exclusive-dst-intl-hnk/index.html

15+ minute audiovideo as seen on AC360 UT March 25 circa 0530. Also
transcript with photos, maps, graphs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 341-MCW kHz, March 26 at 0205 UT, EI, Woodring Airport,
EnId ND beacon is back on! Latest outage started March 15. I check at
random times day or night, and assume once it`s off it stays off until
heard again. But I wonder if this or some other LW/MW beacons at minor
airports operate only irregularly depending on when there are really
incoming flights needing them, on request?

Power saving of 25 watts would hardly justify the trouble of turning
them off and on. BTW, Deirdre Gurry, the new AP director I met on a
visit about EI in October 2019, has already moved on after receiving
an award; she was replaced the following September by Keston Cook
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** U S A. 1370, March 26 at 0232 UT, a bandscan hits some C&W music,
and a produced ID barely readable in the QRM, sounds like KVRD or KBRV
or something similar rhyming. The only fuzzy fit in NRC AM Log is:
KCRV, Caruthersville MO, which is on the River in the Bootheel, east
of Kennett where it`s addressed; U1 1000/63 watts, really? E-W
longwire does favor it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 11835, March 25 at 0606, JBA carrier presumed R. Vanuatu,
3945 x 3; but nothing heard on 7890 = 3945 x 2. Will 11835 have a CCI
problem in A-21? Yes, tentative HFCC shows nothing on 11835 but CNR
China, 150 kW, 257 degrees from Xi`an site at 0000-1300! There was
nothing at all in B-20 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ALASKA. 9535, March 24 at 1502 as I tuned in, the KNLS IS heard
once and then VP algo. But sked for Chinese at 1400-1500 only, so next
language/frequency must have come on late. Was checking whether Cuba
were off already instead of 1600* during standard time (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, March 24 at 1521, LRA36 is on the air
again on a Wednesday afternoon; good S7-S8 into Pardinho, Brasil SDR;
music, frequent IDs, talk segments.

Waterfall tuned as above displays signal with sharp edges 15476.2 to
15478.7, i.e. 2.5 kHz wide, on the upper side. But since it still
shows same after sign-off with no signal, that must be an artifact of
the remote`s USB bandwidth rather than of the incoming signal alone.

Back to 1525: another canned ID; talk segment concludes with despedida
until next miércoles --- but does not sign off, back to music. Seems
they are playing brief pre-recorded segments. 1538 as if signing on
again, ``a partir de este momento``, then in German and English saying
that they are in Spanish, duh, and a fourth language, at first I
thought Italian? At 1545.5 yet another ``sign-on``, this time fourth
language more like Japanese? 1549 song about Antarctica; 1549.5 YL
greeting in the ``17th`` program, mentions station personnel,
discussion; 1556 contact info. 1605 another canned ID, part of which
goes, ``Nacional, Antárdida Argentina --- la radio pública``. 1615 ID
and more talk about COVID-19; 1618 email address, QSL offer; mostly
discussion about the ejército, as after all, this a paramilitary if
not totally military operation; ``en todo el país``; 1648 recheck
still talking but chopped off air abruptly at 1650*. Come to think of
it, never noted them with the name ``Radio Nacional Arcángel San
Gabriel``, but maybe missed it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA [non]. 11985, March 24 at 2107, S7-S9 sorta English: it`s
AWR MADAGASCAR in Nigerian Pidgin --- heavy accent, but occasional
words and phrases in clear English, all mixed up (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [non]. 341-MCW kHz, March 24 at 0606, still no EI Enid, ND
beacon, but after several stops and restarts, I still expect it back,
sometime. Instead, JBA DNI, which is 25 watts from Sherman-DeNIson,
Texas just across the Red; not often audible, but now instead of or
atop, OIN, Oberlin, Kansas. I`ve yet to hear plenty of other 341s
listed in the Conterminous, Alaska, Canada, Greenland (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** PHILIPPINES [and non]. 12120, March 24 at 1454, Chinese under RTTY
and CODAR; VOA Tinang and jamming scheduled 1400-1500.

9825, March 24 at 1457, rock music S5-S7 with flutter, off at 1500.
Another VOA Chinese via Tinang and jamming, 1000-1500 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Wed Mar 24 from 2300, REE token English, VG on NAm
frequency as heard in VA SDR, S9+10/40, Alison Hughes with a well-done
comprehensive news review - of the whole past week? Since most
broadcasts do not deal with hard current events. I also like her voice
and style, but could not help noticing her mispronouncing Sergei, and
Angela; interspersed bits of music until 2327 flamenco fill playout.

From next week this is expected to shift one real UT hour earlier to
2200 M/W/F, as usual due to the irrelevant imposition of DST in Spain.
This is totally irrational. First of all, by longitude, most of Spain
should be on GMT, as the Greenwich zero-meridian goes down the east
coast. The zulu timezone should extend 7.5 degrees east and 7.5
degrees west from there. Which means that the NW corner, Galicia,
*should* be on UT minus 1! Since Spain normally is effectively on DST
already, UT+1, this means most of the country will be *two* hours
ahead of mean `solar` time, and Galicia, *three*!!

Furthermore, advance publicity of A-21 schedule claims that the NAm
beam will be only on 17855, from morning on the weekends, all
afternoon, and as long as on air evenings until 0200* UT = 9 pm CDT,
after sunset here and the entire path in darkness. We can only hope
REE come to its senses and QSY down to, say, 9690, no later than 2200
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, March 24 at 2302, VOT English to us manages to be on
the air today unlike yesterday, VG with ID and announcer name during
the news; as heard at UTwente, VG S9/+20. From next week, March 28,
this is to shift to 2200 on 9830 vs NAU PR RTTY, whenever it manage to
be on air at all. Last year the RTTY would sometimes be off by 2200,
but not dependably (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 8992-USB // weaker 15016-USB, March 24 until 1506*, last
part of alfanumeric crypto message with deliberate echo and whine,
outro as ``message of 37 characters; this is Uncle Joe, out``. unID US
military exercise with ever-changing tactical calls, suspected
originating from Andrews (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2078 monitoring: Richard Lemke, Alberta,
confirms the Wed Mar 24 at 1030 on WRMI 5850.

Also confirmed here Wed Mar 24 at 2100+ on WBCQ 7489.97v, S5-S7.

Also confirmed Wed Mar 24 at 2100 on WRMI 7780, JBA here but poor
S7-S8 to UTwente, VG S7/S9+10 at Maine SDR.

Also confirmed Wed Mar 24 at 2200 on WRMI 9955, S9/+20 to Maine over
jamming. Next, and last:

0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

Hauser
** CUBA. 6100, March 23 at 0630, S9 humbuzz from the only RHC still on
the air, otherwise just barely modulated if that`s the audio source.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13435 trace, 13500, 13567 vs CODAR, 13633 S9; source 13700
S9+30; 13767, 13834, 13900 S5, 13967 & 14034 & 14100 traces at least
of F-natural tone, March 23 after 1418, distorted spurblobs today at
~65 kHz intervals, the closer ones with readable audio in NBFM; not in
the order tuned. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, March 23 at 2332, the #1 historic RHC frequency is
humbuzzing at S9+20, much like that heard 17 hours ago on 6100:
suspected very same transmitter, except now it`s also fully modulated.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 7300, March 23 at 2327 S7-S9 Chinese with flutter.
HFCC shows CRI in Chinese via Urumqi this hour; from the land of
Chicom imperialist genocide against the Uyghurs.

I have just been way-out-of-bandscanning below 15 MHz, just above and
below 13 and 11 MHz, but no sign of CNR1 or Firedragon jammers which
used to occupy many frequencies in these ranges. I`m not hearing them
morning or evening, even when there are some such inband signals.
During the winter I assumed propagation was just not working, but now
I wonder if they and/or Sound of Hope are still all over those areas?
Wolfgang Bueschel was still hearing them in those three ranges, March
7 between 08 and 09 UT via remotes in Japan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 1050 kHz, March 23 at 0617 UT, choral Mexican war-mongering
NA is just ending rather late after HCM/CST midnight, and then full
florid legal ID for XEG, which I should record and copy verbatim,
including street address in Monterrey NL, and 100,000 watts
``efectivos`` --- as in ERP? AM stations normally are known by their
transmitter power, altho ERP can be calculated in different direxions
if they are not non-direxional, which XEG supposed be, day and night.
100/100 kW, WRTH and IRCA Log agree.

At the moment it`s atop, but plenty of QRM. Much of the time it is
buried in all the Unitedstatesian QRM vs this traditional Mexican
``clear`` channel. NRC AM Log shows 44 US stations at night, one 50
and one 10 kW at distances, likewise in Canada, but US mostly under
1000, under 100 or even under 10 watts! But it all adds up, piles on.
I could easily believe XEG really run much less than 100 kW. Remember
in the good? ole days when it was a border-blaster in English with a
simple address of Fort Worth, 11, Texas? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, March 23 at 2315, once again no signal here from VOT
English to North America. By 2340 I`m checking UTwente SDR: Not there
either, but East Turkistan, land of Chicom imperialist genocide
against the Uyghurs, which is now exactly on-frequency. In case
something failed to get turned off on time, like often happens to 5960
when it manages to come on in the first place, I proceed to check all
the other TRT frequencies which were scheduled to end in the last few
hours, -2030, -2130, -2200, -2230, i.e. 5970, 6050, 6120, 9610, 9625
--- either nothing heard at all or more China/Turkistan. So much for
that.

BTW, I was amused by a report from Europe which said, ``Last night I
got a surprise; a new station that does not exist within the latest
Handbook appeared on 11540 kHz shortwave. It was TRT Radio Recep
Erdogan, who showed that the cult of personality has reached
unimaginable heights in Turkey.``

While one could easily imagine Recep E. naming a station after
himself, apparently the reporter does not realize that the name is
merely an ironic handle that Ivo Ivanov first deployed upon the jammer
against Dengê Welat; no doubt a spare Ermirler transmitter (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 400-MCW kHz, March 23 at 0605 UT, ND beacon AHQ, 25 watts
from Wahoo, Nebraska. Yahoo! Gotta log this one every so often. Wahoo
is a 4K town sorta between Omaha and Lincoln at the junxion of US 77
and State 92, i.e. between Prague and Ithaca; between Colón and
Valparaíso. Obviously the Wahoonians were looking for a less
derivative name than their neighbours (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
2200 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE

** U S A. Greg Hardison, CA, in the WOR iog, replies to my log of
Rollye James on WGN: "...Rollye James is sounding like a DXer..."

``Certainly one of the most amazing and fascinating minds with which
I've ever interacted belongs to Rollye. I was very happy to hear of
her new home at WGN/720, and hope they have the wisdom to keep her
there for just as long as she will stay. Rollye James has graced the
airwaves at many a station. She was briefly on the old KFMB/760 in San
Diego, where I went on with her via phone a few times, whilst running
the board up the coast/dial at KABC/790, unbeknownst to 790 mgmt., of
course!

She is a true radio-fanatic, in the same manner as the late great Art
Bell, and can build a fine show around any subject in the known
universe. A few nights ago on WGN, Rollye was working on an obsession
with old R&B love ballads of the early-to-mid 1960s. Heard some tunes
then & there I hadn't even thought of in nearly 60 years!)

Rollye is a born natural for WGN -- well, actually for any worthwhile
station, but especially for 'GN, which is mostly maintaining its
unique style under "new" ownership of Nexstar. Jim Bohannon is a small
step down for WGN as he fiddles with the world of right-wing
blatherhood beneath his talents, and it seems the only blatant mistake
Nexstar has made so far is the addition of proto-fascist
Trump-worshiping syndicated assclown Bill Cunningham on Sunday nights
--- although once again WGN is unique, in presenting both the best
(Rollye) and the worst (Billy) in commercial Talkradio!

I hereby declare my undying love and mighty recommendation for Rollye
James and her most-excellent weeknightly show on WGN. And if you can't
hear the huge signal, there's always www.wgnradio.com`` -- Greg
Hardison

``Rochelle "Rollye" James is an American radio talk show host. She
hosted The Rollye James Show nationally and on international shortwave
on WWCR from 2000 to 2011. Rollye revived her show, broadcasting
weeknights 10p.m.–midnight, via live stream and podcast on June 19,
2013. Wikipedia`` (via Glenn Hauser, WOR)

** U S A. 1140, March 23 at 0619 UT, once again tonight, KXRB Sioux
Falls SD is dominating the channel to the south instead of legally
aiming all its night power NW: 0622 between C&W tunes, convenient
simple ID only as ``KXRB``. Oook, last night`s log was misdated March
29 instead of 22, as were two others I`ve had to reissue corrected!
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7360, March 23 at 2328, S8-S9 open carrier with flutter,
marred by Cuban noise jamming splash from 7355/7365. Something
interesting about to open? But still no modulation heard past 2331.
HFCC shows Iran in French due west for W & C Africa, an hour from
2320. Could also be CNR in Tibetan from Beijing site until 2400 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
