** SPAIN [and non]. 11670, Oct 22 at 2157 checking for REE signals direct as token Friday English is imminent: this is the only one barely audible, unusable, with slight ute QRM minus not plus. If on air, 11940 should be much stronger tho probably distorted; and no signals at all on 15520 and for ``North America`` 17855. Recheck 11670 at 2300, via Maryland remote, two equally very poor stations with almost synchronized timesignals, REE and CNR-2 Business Radio from Beijing 491 site (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9830, Oct 22 at 2158, VOT IS & IDs prior to English hour, good S9+25, best on LSB to avoid RTTY; less undermodulated than sometimes and would be sufficient but I`ve no time to listen to it today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 338-MCW kHz, Oct 22 at 0628 UT, ND beacon RYN, 400 watts from Tucson / Ryan AZ. Only obvious one not heard on last night`s thorough bandscan. See also UNID (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2109 monitoring: confirmed Friday October 22 from 1815 on 918 kHz Villa Estense, Italy. Music from tune-in 1814 until 1815 quick ``IRRS Shortwave [sic], signing on`` and right into WOR. S9+20 into nearby Noale SDR and no QRM yet. As usual, IRRS really SW, 7290 via BULGARIA, lags behind, back to ``normal`` after pre-emption on 3rd Friday. Open carrier on before tune-in 1813 via UTwente, S7/S9+10, but modulation not cut on until almost 1816 as the WOR theme and intro is almost over. There is lite splash QRM not from first adjacent 7285 or 7295 where there is nothing, presumably from second-adj. 7300 bigsig S9+25 but which is undermodulated, i.e. IRAN in German but scheduled until 1820* only. WOR 2109 also confirmed Fri Oct 22 from 2030 UT on Italia AM, 918 kHz as above, now with lite CCI, perhaps SPAIN. Unfortunately, tuned in at 2026 via Noale, it`s Kim Elliott in lengthy central interview on AWR Wavescan, which is NOT on NEXUS-IBA schedule now, and certainly will not be finished by 2030; must have started about 2015. Yes, chopped off at 2030 for IRRS ID and WOR 2109 playback from its start as scheduled. Sorry, Kim; I had nothing to do with this. IRRS has this habit of filling time with random program fragments. Also confirmed Fri Oct 22 at 2230, newish time on WRMI 5950, S9+10 direct but some ACI from 5945 RRI English. Next: 0130 UT Saturday WRMI 9395 to NNW [confirmed but JBA via remotes] 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 2330 UT Saturday WRMI 5950 to NNW 0030 UT Sunday WRMI 7730 to WNW 0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0430] 1230 UT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW; 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. Thanks this week to Chris Campbell, Ohio for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, Oct 22 at 1452, no signal from this WRMI, 24 hours after first noted absent, their only daytime signal into Europe. Scheduled XMTR #9, 44 degrees at 11-02 with: 11-12 variety, 12-13 TOMBS, 13-14 variety, 14-20 SMTV, 20-21 variety, 21-22 Prague, 23-02 TOMBS; switching among four different Systems. 15770, however, Oct 22 at 2025, is back on into Virginia SDR, but JBA carrier into UTwente. At 2156 direct it`s sufficient. BTW altho the title for WRMI A-21 schedules still says August 14, skeds themselves are newly headed October 18, so be alert for further changes; so far same entries for WOR until DST stop (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7489.9v), Oct 23 from 0000, WBCQ webcast with `AAAWWW`. Not as overmodulated as before but still too much. Immediately equates Democrats with communists, nazis and moonbats, another show railing against all that`s wrong with a non-Trump-controlled America. I don`t need this, so dip in only occasionally during the hour. Seems to start complaining about Superman turning gay. 0019 interrupted by call from Mr. Rabishu, who says he hasn`t listened to news since 2019, instead monitors hams: some in California about discouraging gas-powered tools such as chainsaws, setting off A&A on another rant. ``Build Back America Better`` is BS, per Allan. Servitude was accepted back then 200-300 years ago by good people - so give them a break? But we know now it was wrong. Last few minutes, skimming a few FRW items, prayer and off. John Carver`s version: ``Tonight's show started on time on 4790, 6160 and 7490 this evening with the best signal being 7490. Allan and Angela in the studio. Show starts immediately with a rant from Allan about the changes to the Superman slogan. He refused to say what it had been changed to but I'm guessing it no longer ends with Truth, Justice and the American way. Then he asks about "woke" movement is all about and also asks about Critical Race Theory. Then into the price of fuel, inflation and politics. Phone call at 0018 but I can't make out caller or the question as all three frequencies have gotten terribly noisy. Then into vaccine talk after the phone call. Another phone call at 0026 and then into talk about statues being removed or destroyed. Phone call at 0038 that Allan calls Pastor. At this time the best signal I can get out of the three frequencies is an S3. Then Allan plays some sort of audio from the Pastor that had just been on the phone. Maybe a sermon? Reading of emails at 0056 along with a very brief scan of the new Free Radio Weekly. Closing prayer at 0059 and off air at 0101. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 378 kHz, Oct 22 at 0620 UT, NDB bandscan finds intermittent dashes, dits and dahs. Sounds like an NDB but very out of order. If really on 378, dxinfocentre.com lists only four, in BC, OR, QC and NU, none very likely here. classaxe.com has only the three Canadians, with OR and several more marked out, and none of them, then or now noted with any problem like this. It`s still possible this was a local device previously unnoticed. Anyone else hearing thus? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Oct 22 at 0612-0618 UT: 531, 558, 567, 576(2), 603(2), 612, 621, 639, 666, *684, 693, 774(2), 837, 846-TP?, 882(2), 909, 999, 1017(2), *1044, 1098, 1107(2), 1116(2), 1125, 1152, 1215(2), 1305(2), 1314, 1413 kHz. *strongest, probably Spain. Thursday, October 21 2021
** SPAIN. Wed Oct 20 at 2200 it`s time for another token English broadcast from REE, so I`m prepared to listen via Maryland SDR: but NO signal on 17855 for NAm, nor 15520 backwards for ME. 11940 for SAm is S9+5, much better than 11670 for Af JBA --- trouble is, 11940 is still extremely distorted, so REE loses this and surely many other listeners; as first item is about ETA. Instead I default to TURKEY, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9830, Oct 20 at 2201, VOT is VG S9/+20 into Maryland SDR showing frequency offset +17 Hz, nor is there any RTTY QRM! Since SPAIN struck out, I`m devoting this semihour to listening to TRT English in detail. News about: attacks in Syria, COVID vax rate in Australia, NK subs, until 2207.5 music break. 2208, `Review of the Turkish Press``, about TRNC matters [no separate review of foreign press this time]. 2210, that COVID PSA - maybe I zoned out but did they finally delete the part about there being no vaccine yet? 2212 music break. 2216 plugs the 41 languages of TRT, on TV? And quickly into `Feeling Supreme - Healthy Life` with detailed recipes for various natural remedies for influenza, with winter oncoming, involving such as ginger tea, rose hip tea, a quantity for something based on the size of a Turkish lira coin --- oh2, where is mine? 2223 music break. 2228, `Weekly Commentary` turns over to YL announcer, all the previous by the same guy with the difficult name. She is harder to understand, seems to be about virtualhub? Anyhow at 2230 it`s time for NBC Nightly [sic] News (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2108 monitoring: confirmed Wednesday October 20 at 2100 on WRMI 7780, S7-S8 into UTwente. Also confirmed about 21 seconds later on WBCQ 7490-, better into Maryland remote, carrier offset minus 97 Hz = 7489.903. Next: 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support, which might have been sent via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702. New WOR 2109 should be ready early UT Friday Oct 22 for first broadcasts at 0130 on WRMI 5850 & 7780 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNSOLICITED TESTIMONIALS ``Gracias Glenn, por compartir toda esta informacion y desde hace ya tantos años. Gracias por tanto, usted es un historico para todos quienes desde ya varias decadas tenemos como aficion y pasion la escucha de la onda corta, media y frecuencia modulada. 73 Gabriel Gomez, Uruguay`` --- unfortunately, he replied on a group which then made it clear my participation was not welcome despite hardly any traffic otherwise This report dispatched at 2336 UT October 20

See also my separate post, ``Fun & Games at HFCC B-21`` Here`s another one, INDIA full of inactive or kaput domestic and externals: http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=AIR
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Oct 20 at 1534, LRA36 on again for a Wednesday broadcast; of four KiwiSDRs in Brasil, best via Campo tho only S3-S5, less buzzclick QRM than the others, OTH radar? Not local to any of them. Later abating. 1538 ``sign-on`` routine in middle of transmission, ``a partir de ---``, for miércoles 11-13 broadcast = 14-16 UT, also on 96.7 FM; history of station from 1979 -- or 1969? And claiming to be first broadcast station in Anta.; but when did AFAN start? Never mind the Yanquis. Says initially on 6036 kHz, meaning 6030? Raised power to 10 kW and moved permanently to ``15476 AM`` --- no, it`s NOT AM, and now it`s NOT 10 kW, admittedly 700? watts. More usual mix of songs, talkbits and frequent IDs such as 1555; chopped off at 1607*, a minute before Campo SDR times out for reload, still off. Meanwhile, the 2022 crew for LRA36 has been selected, for the first time all-female. Does this mean, about to close down for the summer until Feborso? Via Manuel Mendez, WOR iog where it`s Englished: https://admin.radionacional.com.ar/cuatro-mujeres-estaran-a-cargo-de-lra-36-radio-nacional-en-la-antartida/ This got the FM frequency wrong, ``97.6`` instead of 96.7 as I heard it and as also in WRTH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 5040, Oct 20 at 0140, RHC at S9+10/20 of dead air. Something`s always wrong at RHC; 5025 & 4765 are nominal. 5040, Oct 20 at 0553, RHC is off already instead of 0600+ in Spanish last night, clearing for JBA carrier presumably VANUATU (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMREICA. 6930-USB, Oct 20 at 0050, rock music at S9; 0054 unreadable announcement and off. No logs here but unID from 0101: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87964.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SAUDI ARABIA [and non]. 17895.070, Oct 20 at 1412, Qur`an JBA from always askew SRI/SBA, and about to dub it the OSOB till I detect a JBA carrier on 17770, which should be TURKEY in Arabic; thus the upperone rates SSOB status only. No sign of other Sa`udi carriers supposedly on 16m now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 3370.5-USB, Oct 20 at 0128, 6TX1, MARS net designator fonetikaly, and AFA6DT, the NCS calling some other AF- stations, without great success; lingo of ``roger`` and ``wilco`` -- the opposite of ``wonco`` are uttered, then nothing more. This frequency net last logged UT Fri March 18, 2016y at 0125, with different calls as in: https://www.w4uvh.net/dxld1612.txt The MARS link then no longer worx: http://www.afmars.net:8080/qilan/MARS/list_RMS_stations and a broad search now on AFA6DT gets only one significant hit: https://www.dxfuncluster.com/spots/AFA6DT log by WS5ADV OKC: ``WS5ADV [Usuario de LOTW] 5332.0 [kHz] AFA6DT 60m Interop Net Ham-MARS 17:00 01-May-21`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2108 monitoring: confirmed Wednesday October 20 at 1045 check the 1030 on WRMI 5850, VG. Next: 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support, which might have been sent via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 5040, Oct 20 at 0553, JBA carrier in early absence of RHC, suspect RV which appears to be stuck on this frequency only at all hours instead of 4 others as sequentially registered with HFCC for B-21. Port Vila sunset less than an hour away at 0649. Sob, if only they would resumed 11835 as 3 x 3945 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 4940, Oct 20 at 0554, S9/+20 open carrier past hourtop to 0602* --- seems too strong for Maicao Montana missionaries, but no sign of that signal under it. Maybe testing a power increase? Also too strong for VOA Botswana or São Tomé, compared to 4960 STP in fadey dead air at only S9/S6; also far too early for China on 4940 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1646 UT October 20
