![Logs](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/logs.gif) ** ALGERIA [non]. 11985 & 12060, Sept 21 at 1907, still no signals from scheduled TDA relays via FRANCE, checking SDRs in Africa and Maryland (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** EGYPT. 9439.995, Sept 21 at 2204, R. Cairo is on today, S9+25 into UTwente, but extremely distorted modulation, useless. This protracted incompetence at National Media Authority is really remarkable. Something`s always egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 1600, Sept 21 at 2120 UT, looking for some tolerable AM band music to nap by, I try KUSH in Cushing, but there`s a talk show instead! Seems to be MOR, not Biden-bashing like everything else in OK. 2129 still ID as ``Oklahoma`s Americana Station`` and 2130 back to Bloomberg Radio, ``Sound Off`` show, giving its frequencies in some major markets, 99.1, 1130, 106.1, 960, and Sirius XM 119, but no mention of 1600 or KUSH! NRC DX News of August 30 reported: ``KUSH OK Cushing — Format to C&W (ex-C&W/OLD) (StIntel)`` -- The `OLD` was ``Americana``, a rather rare format which made KUSH worth some listening. New NRC AM Log showed slogan ``Oklahoma`s Americana Station``. U1 5000/70 watts, psra 500. Radio-locator says ``Oklahoma`s Only Americana Station``, day coverage map finds OKC, Tulsa and Enid all between its ``distant`` and ``fringe`` contours, but I doubt it have much of an audience in our three metros. https://www.1600kush.com/ --- take your pick of slogans and formats, including Bloomberg Radio. Like far too many radio stations, there seems to be no plain old program schedule showing what`s on air, when, hour by hour (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830.002+, Sept 21 at 2202, VOT English at S9+45 but just barely modulated: I have to run UTwente volume at max, a risk if tuning to anything else, and also local volume at max, just to hear it at ``normal`` level. 2215 `Review of the Tuerkiyeish Press`; 2344 `Feeling Supreme` repeat about natural remedies for diabetic/insulin problems. Does not go off circa 2255, but IS, 2300 TS and opening extra German airing while the sleepyops doze. News, 2314 song; 2334 multi-lingual ID reel, still going past 2344 song. By now mod level better, can back off a bit, but still under-. 2347 `DYKT` theme and German version, something about a tower. Double bonus! Stays on after German too with IS and 2356 Luso-Portuguese IDs, UT Sept 22 *0000 sign-on for another broadcast not supposed to be on SW at all. I quickly notify the radioescutas io group that brasileiros are in luck tonight! Sign-on only heard giving satellite parameters. Too busy to listen closely but usual mix of talk features and Turkish music, still 0043; 0053 IS and finally cut off the air as if this were an intentional emission. Bet it won`t be on tomorrow, but sporadically (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2156 monitoring: Correxion: this was Tuesday September 20, not Wed 21 as originally misstated: Confirmed Tuesday Sept 20 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9/+15 into Maryland SDR, with occasional storm crashes. Also confirmed Wednesday September 21 at 2100:20 on WBCQ 7490 minus 70 Hz = 7489.930, S9+10 into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed UT Thursday September 22 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9+30 into Virginia SDR. Next: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html A noncommercial service for which financial support is appreciated to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, by money order or check on a US bank. Or via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com NEW WOR 2157 should be ready for download early UT Friday September 23, first SWBCs at 0130 on WRMIs 5850 & 7730 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330.15v, Sept 21 at 2119, WLCR/WBCQ is OFF also at this daypart; still scheduled to be aiming English right at me. Ivo Ivanov thinx it`s only a 50 kW transmitter, not 500, but how does he know? The last we heard it was the SuperStition 500, off-frequency because it had to be run by an old substitute driver (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0108 UT September 22 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

![Logs](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/logs.gif) ** ALGERIA [and non]. 13815, Sept 21 at 1817, NO signal from TDA via FRANCE as scheduled this hour, into African and Maryland SDRs. Ivo Ivanov, Bulgaria, who monitors a lot of TDA/RTA, found the Issoudun, FRANCE relays on 6050, 7295, 9535 between 04 and 06 UT Sept 21, also missing, but own site Béchar on air, 7200, 9450, but not Ouargla either. I often run across 9620 in my 06-07 UT monitoring but don`t log it. Inside-Algeria usage is very hit-and-miss, but presumably the France relays are soon to stop, if not already. See http://hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=A22&broadc=TDA including: HFCC schedule for TDA via ISSoudun, FRANCE:

Gary Pence says they started at 1428. 1436 official sign-on, 4-language advisory, staff names; 1438 Esperanza themesong; 1441 poetic recitation; 1443 song about primavera: they are already celebrating spring tho no equinox really until UT Sept 23 at 0103, or 0104 depending on which reference. 1447 ``su compañía`` ID and into live YL chat, on 22nd program of the 2022 cycle; a ``día muy especial``. Guests in studio, chicos from the secondary school; 1450 male voice gets to read history of base; weather hard to copy, but maybe minus 5 and winds 55 kph; 1453 phone numbers and all the other contact info; acknowledges someone from Jujuy and callers on the air; 1455.5 music under up to full; 1501 student talking about history; lots more chat I don`t try to copy, 1525 song; 1545 primavera song; 1604 ID with staff names again, ``nos une`` and off. But 1606 back on for a few seconds of song, off again and no more by 1631 when the SDR times out again (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA. 248 kHz MCW, Sept 21 at 0624 UT, dash and WG, 1000 watt ND beacon at Winnipeg MB. Audible despite storm noise from Kansas, and little else. Will certainly miss WG when decommissioned April 20, 2023, per August CIDX Messenger; however not flagged as such in dxinfocentre.com beacon list (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6165, Sept 21 at 0610, RHC English S9+30/40 direct, // only 5040 S9+20; all others off already: 6100, 6060, 6000, as well as 5025 Rebelde. Something`s always wrong at RHC. The Other Side: ``Economy --- Investing in Cuba: Certain Suicide --- What is behind the announcements that private investment on the island will be allowed? Emilio Morales, Miami 20 Sep 2022 - 17:42 CEST In a desperate attempt to survive the multisystemic crisis that is about to topple it, the Cuban regime has taken a series of steps that, rather than a strategy, seem like acrobatics. Its new plan does not include the first thing that should be implemented in the economic sphere: a series of reforms, based on free enterprise and free markets, to restructure the model. Yes, the regime has announced that it will allow investments in the private sector, and so has the Biden Administration, as part of its policy to empower the Cuban people by allowing investments by American companies together with private companies on the Island. However, it is naïve to think that there is a real private sector in Cuba...`` https://diariodecuba.com/economia/1663688577_42358.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 21 at 0606, VON is OFF. Something`s always abnormal at Abuja. 7254.93v, Sept 21 at 1732 and still 1811, Alicante, Spain SDR gets a signal here at VON`s offset, but no modulation. Canary, Spain, SDR is unavailable as its ham must be transmitting (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. Maybe something to do with cash flow from TOMBS? Skedgrid still dated Sept 9 still shows it only until 0400* with otherstuff (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5970, Sept 21 at 0609, WEWN Spanish still OFF (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4840, Sept 21 at 0612, WWCR S9+30 of dead air with some hum. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Sept 21 at 0617+, first time in months such a panoply this late due to latening Euro sunrises: checked 1044 first and there it is, far too late for Ethiopia as I recently hypothesized circa 0300. But this is still too early for any TPs beyond 846, and unusually, Kiritimati is missing even tho it`s Wednesday, not Sunday. Gary Pence agrees, Sept 21: ``846 kHz no show --- sure enough, I tried checking early and thru the nite but it was a no show. NH6XO [SDR Hawaii] is a great place to check since Kiritimati is 1353 miles almost due south, where his antenna is north/south 220 ft unterminated Beverage. 73s and good luck this morning, Gary`` In total, not in the order tuned; (2) indicates at least two carriers beating; (3) at least three: 531, 558, 621, 639, 684, 693-, 729(2), 774(3), 847, 855(2), 1044, 1098(2), 1107, 1116, 1305; 1710 = NAm pirate? Glenn Hauser logs September 20, 2022 |

Wednesday, September 21 2022
![Logs](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/logs.gif) ** CUBA. 6100, Sept 20 at 0632, RHC English at S9+10/20 of just barely modulation; 6165, 6000 and 5040 are off, leaving only 6060 with a sufficient S9/+10 signal yet undermodulated with hum. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** EGYPT. 9439.995, Sept 20 at 2152, R. Cairo manages to get on air, but S9+25/35 into UTwente of hum and extreme distortion in presumed English. Something`s always egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Sept 20 at 0630, JBA carrier from R. Kiribati. Gary Pence, TX, has also been checking this via remote: ``Hi Glenn, I was using SDR NH6XO, Kaneohe, Hawaii when I caught them in their local sunset enhancement, better waterfall with visible audio besides the usual JBA carrier then it took a deeper fade that seems to be common that I have run across in my MW DXing. I Recorded a little and no side splatter directly on the sides, around 0428z Sept 20, 2022. Every time I have checked 846, a thin line showed up on the Kiwi, so to my amazement I was surprised to see some modulation in the waterfall and could hear it a little better. After about 10 minutes, the big fade hit. To really explore this sunset enhancement, I need to start listening just before sunset around 0345z or sooner until their sunset around 0428z. I read a story how somebody in Hawaii had armchair copy from across the room back in the day. CuL, Gary`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 20 at 0631, VON on with S9/+10 of dead air. Well, that`s something, awkward at Abuja. Did not get to check their evening today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 15375, Sept 20 at 1454, S8/S9 of heavy rock vocal music, Turkish talk and more music past 1500, one of better signals on band, so I bet it`s VOT: yes, 13-16, 500 kW at 310 degrees toward W Europe and here are we beyond (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830.021, Sept 20 at 2154, VOT already on in Tuerkiyeish talk not scheduled now, S9+45 into UTwente, 2155 IS starts with Engliyeish IDs, but suptorted and with loud hum, 2220 commentary about QE2 by someone with an Engliyeish name. Suspect same transmitter as for Tuerkiyeish at 16-21 on same parameters 500 kW at 310 degrees USward. Wonder if it stayed on after 2100. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2156 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday September 20 at 2230 on WRMI 9955, S9/+10 into Maryland SDR, already vs considerable pulse jamming but listenable past 2250 if you put up with it. Likewise for R. Libertad after 2300, but maybe harsher dentro-Cuba. Next: 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 1100 UT Wednesday Unique Radio webcast [5035/3210 USB suspended] 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html A noncommercial service for which financial support is appreciated to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, by money order or check on a US bank. Or via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5800, Sept 20 at 0640, S7/S9 of dead air, must be WRMI, but #10 is now scheduled to quit 5800 at 0400, while #4 is also labeled 5800 but 24/7 of blank. Running 100 kW units after hours must be bad for the power bill, or maybe there is some reason for testing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7932+, Sept 20 circa 0630 quick check for R. Vanuatu still finds nothing: need to be more persistent like Ron Howard, same date: ``Strange happenings! On 7932, happen to hear Radio Vanuatu for maybe 10-15 seconds before cutting off at about 0522 UT. Seemed they were maybe working on repairing the xmtr without attempting to correct the situation of being off frequency? Went to randomly check 8620+, after 0559 UT; yes, at about 0653 they came on with Island music for maybe another 10-15 seconds; checked after 0653 for a straight hour, but they never came back at all. Today heard for probably less than 30 seconds! Ron, Asilomar State Beach, Calif. (near Monterey), Etón E1, external antenna: 100 ft. long wire`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2322 UT September 20 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
