Logs
** ALGERIA [non]. 7295 & 9535, Sept 23 at 0512, no signals into
Maryland from TDA via ISSoudun, France, as had been scheduled this
hour. At 0633 only a JBA carrier on 9620, suspect gone from here too,
so something else? Aoki shows no other, but EiBi has CNR2, Beijing
site. So it seems the multi-year relays are finished now that TDA
finally has some SW transmitters of its own on air, however unreliably
and unscheduledly. New SW transmitters at the Béchar and Ouargla LW
sites already discussed in DXLD 11-08 of 24 Feb *2011*:
http://www.w4uvh.net/dxld1108.txt
following DXLD 11-06 of 10 Feb 2011:
http://www.w4uvh.net/dxld1106.txt
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 12060, Sept 23 at 0635, pulse jamming is audible on 2 x 6030,
where it`s an S9 wall-of-noise against nothing, except poor inaudible
CFVP which doesn`t have the sense to GET OFF such a Cuban radio war
frequency. Something`s always crazy at the DentroCuban Jamming Command
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6140, Sept 23 at 0642, RHC JBA carrier, leapfrog mixing
product of the only two English frequencies on air now, 6060 & 6100,
both undermodulated with hum and slightly more distortion on the
upper. 6165, 6000 and 5040 are all off. Something`s always wrong at
RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, Sept 23 at 1449, RHC is S7/S9 of dead air in Spanish;
very weak S4/S6, 15140 also seems unmodulated. Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ITALY [and non]. My usual Friday check Sept 23 for WOR on IRRS 7290
via Bulgaria and 1323 via Italy, confirms that like last week, WOR has
been canceled from its former 1815 UT airing: see USA. So here is what
I did hear: 1323 kHz, AM Italia, Villa Estense, and not on 918 or 207
kHz, into nearby Noale SDR at 1750 tune-in with classical music, piano
concerto, but soon Hungarian announcement, so that`s the minority
service from Romania. CC QRM from this will only get worse into fall
and winter nights; othermusic under must be AM Italia. 1755 an
American PSA about autism. 1800 no Feature Story News either, but into
a woman gospel huxter like last week, and now the CCI from Romania has
changed to minority German with a strange accent. 1815 I check 7290
via UTwente, which is S7/S9 in // but clear of QRM as the g.h.
continues her mostly monolog; besides Christian themes she and an
occasional male voice sidekick, ``Dr Luther``, are concerned against
``One-World Government``. He calls her ``Rexella`` --- now we know who
and what this is, as there can`t be more than one g.h. by that name,
Rexella Van Impe, who would now be almost 90, widow of Jack van Impe
[pronouned Im-pee, it seems] who died on Jan. 18, 2020. Another topic:
gender is not ``fluid``, despite her name! Gives a box number in Troy
MI, for Jack Van Impe Ministries, hymn. I look her up on a YT video
allegedly from May 2021, when she still had a full head of blonde
hair!

At 1832 into `Feature Story News` from Washington. 1835 a promo for
some other g.h. on European Gospel Radio = IRRS. 1836 JIP the
conclusion of `Counterspin`, ID for WUSB 90.1 & 107.3, Stoney Brook
NY, 6 pm Tuesday timecheck and `Off the Wall` hacker show starting
with some music... If WOR is gone for good from here, won`t need to
monitor this any more (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA [and non]. 7255-, Sept 23 at 0639, VON is on at S9/+10 but
just barely modulated, JBM. At 1639-1700+, no signal yet into
stormnoisy Canary SDR for scheduled 1630- English. But there it is by
*1705, -66v Hz offset = 7254.933, really unreadable presumed English
with squeal, S7 vs S8 storm crashes. It seems there is lightning every
night in NW Africa, now concentrated in western Algeria. Dumps off air
at 1711 for almost a minute. Off again by 1724, leaving a JBA,
almost-on-frequency signal, presumably imperialist-ChiCom-occupied
TIBET, as listed. *1731 VON back on, signal improving somewhat as
evening progresses. Canary sunset not until 19 UT, Abuja was 1726. Off
again at 1741*, back on at *1750, when I`m called to lunch. And so it
goes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SAUDI ARABIA. 11745, Sept 23 at 1450, Arabic S7/S9, one of better
signals on band, except 11760 Cuban failure. Must be Al-Azm Radio, the
`AFRTS` for invaders in Yemen. EiBi and Aoki show extensive hours via
Jeddah site. WRTH 2022 has it only on page 522 among COTB =
Clandestine and Other Target Broadcasts, not sure about site. Wonder
if now via longpath, aimed at what azimuth? Jeddah toward Yemen would
be roughly SE, favorable for long-path, vs NW direct (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** SOLOMON ISLANDS. 5020, Sept 23 after 0500 past 0600, no signal yet
from SIBC into several Australia/NZ/Hawai`i SDRs, nor on MW 1035, on
this their anniversary. Also checked direct at 0645 and two random
times before 1100, but as usual here only a JBA carrier, with heavy
splash from 5025 Cuba still on. Just in case, also checked remotes for
9545 before 0500, but evidently still inactive there. A special eQSL
was offered for this date only. I hope someone will post it so we can
see it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2157 monitoring: Well, not at 0130
UT Friday September 23 on WRMI 5850 & 7730, replaced on the air and on
the skedgrid by `Viva Miami`, which is still repeating a 2-month-old
edition in Spanish publicizing the Mexican DX meeting coming up at the
end of July in Guadalajara; presumably necessary fill in order to
accommodate `RFPI` which is again on the sked at 0145. The same thing
happened without notice on March 18, but then Jeff agreed to put us
back on what had been our first airing minutes after completion, as of
March 25. I`m asking for that again. Hard to believe that `RFPI` would
want to buy that quarter-hour in some Slavic? language, about the
worst time of day for European listening.

WOR 2157 confirmed still at 0330 UT Friday September 23 on WRMI 7780
toward the SW. Hard to find much of a signal on a remote like Durango
or Brownsville, but S8/9+5 into Maryland. By 0336 fading down to S7,
and 0337 also with some noise burst QRM.

Also confirmed Friday September 23 at 1430 on WRMI 9955, S7/S9 direct
but undermodulated, no jamming audible.

Last week Sept 16 at 1815, WOR was expected to be pre-empted for
`Station of the Cars` on third Friday, and indeed did not appear but
something else instead. The same thing this week, Friday Sept 23, so I
must conclude WOR is gone from IRRS 7290, even tho it`s still on their
Friday online program schedule. Hope the other two times on MW 1323
only will at least continue. See ITALY [and non] for what I did hear
this week. Next:

2030 UT Friday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy
0400 UT Saturday WBCQ Radio Angela 5130v to WSW

Logs
** CUBA [and non]. WSB Atlanta 750 was reported off the air for
maintenance, and someone in Tennessee thought he was hearing
Venezuela. After 0455 UT Sept 22 via Athens GA SDR, I`m getting a
station talking about Cuba. I bet it is Cuba, R. Progreso, Palmira,
CI, the only one listed in WRTH. IIRC 750 used to be a Venez fq, but
not any more, none listed. 0500 ``R Progreso, Cadena Nacional, la Onda
de la Alegria``, etc. And WSB may be off again UT Sept 23, per Les
Rayburn of CPC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5040, 6000, 6060, 6100, 6165, Sept 22 at 0652 all RHC English
frequencies are off already; only 5025 Rebelde is still on.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, following Gary Pence`s suggestion, as of 0450
UT Sept 22, I have been on the NH6XO KiwiSDR, Kanoehe, Hawaii since
0430 but no sign of a R. Kiribati carrier yet on 846. Wonder if they
are off again tonight. Was away for a while but at 0540 it`s surely on
with songs, S8. So I missed when it came on or faded in. First time I
have tried for it remotedly. NH6XO has a 200-foot N/S beverage. It`s
on the ``windward`` NE coast of Oahu, so has to shoot thru Honolulu
slightly offbeam. Fortunately this is far enough from 830 KHVH, and
850 KHLO not a problem yet, either. By 0622 still in with more ACI.
LSS at both ends circa 0430. At 0633 I hear the 846 JBA carrier direct
as usual (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2157)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 22 at 0646, no signal from VON. But Gary Pence
reports later: ``Hi Glenn, about 0730z Nigeria (presumably) was on, S7
with considerable static crashes from North Utah SDR east antenna but
the audio was so lowly modulated I couldn't tell what language, signal
was running about the same in the Canary Islands but with less
atmospheric noise. Freq was 7254 between .93 and .94 - 73, Gary``

7255-, Sept 22 at 1725, no off-frequency VON signal into Canary SDR,
but lots of storm crashes as usual. Closest storms now over Western
Sahara and northern Mauritania (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO
2157)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2156 monitoring: confirmed UT
Thursday September 22 at 0130 on WRMI 5010, S7/S9 into Bonaire SDR.
Immediately preceding gospel huxter was cut off, no ID break.
