** CUBA. 11760, Oct 24 at 1419, RHC is S9 of humbuzz only; something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** KURDISTAN [non]. 11530, Oct 24 at 1420, ME music S8-S9 with a fast SAH; 1458 still with roughly equal clash, i.e. Denge Welat and TURKEY jamming. D.W. is supposed to switch site from PRIDNESTROVYE to FRANCE at 1500, but I detect no break or change as music continues until 1501 one of them starts to talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 341-MCW kHz, re my observation that NDB in Enid, EI, has not been heard here in weeks, even from the airport parking lot, Harold Frodge forwards this reply From Dave Tomasko: ``Heard by Joe Farley 9/26, Doug Springfield 7/24/ Was off for about 6 months between 11/20 to 5/21. Not sure where Glen[n] is checking?? Not heard here often, but will give it a call out when it shows up. Last time I caught this guy was 10/19.`` ? where I`m checking? About 10 miles away from EI 341 in Enid. When on it`s always very weak, probably less than rated 25 watts. Or maybe it get out better via skywave than groundwave? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2109 monitoring: again no one has replied to my request for European monitoring of our new broadcast via WMRI Europe, via Channel 292, Germany, 9670, Sundays at 1230 UT. So I crawl out of bed myself to check at 1233 Oct 24 via UTwente SDR, and pleased to hear a VG signal S8-S9 with no CCI from the simultaneous Vietnam clandestine from Taiwan; but some adjacent splash, yet nothing on 9675 or 9665. Must be from the China radio wars on 9680 & 9660 CNR1 echoing. At 1235 the 9670 signal suddenly surges as if power up or antennaed up? To S9+25. Readout as only 4 Hz off-frequency-minus and modulation is also good and clear. Note from next week will be one real UT hour later, Sundays at 1330, possibly a different QRM situation. I wonder what else be on this test transmission Sundays only, but the schedule here is extremely uninformative, not even WOR: https://wmrieurope.com/wrmi_schedule/ Ha, note even they typed it wrmi by mistake. Next: 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW; 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. Thanks this week to Chris Campbell, Ohio for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1912 UT October 24

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2109 monitoring: confirmed Sat Oct 23 ending at 2011 via WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, S9+9 into nearby KB0FX SDR
Also confirmed Sat Oct 23 at 2330 on WRMI 5950, offset +21.6 Hz, S9+28 into TN SDR. Also confirmed UT Sun Oct 24 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, S9+10/20 into MO SDR, but inaudible in TN: too close and too high? Also confirmed UT Sun Oct 24 at 0321 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, about 4 minutes into so started about 0317; S9+10 into KB0FX SDR with storm crashes, from a front right across MO into southern IL. Next: [reports please on the 9670 broadcast: how well in Europe, QRM?] 1230 UT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW; 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. Thanks this week to Chris Campbell, Ohio for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5950, Saturday at 2200 UT, WRMI starts a 4- or 5-hour string of worthwhile programming, certainly unlike weekdays, on System L, via transmitter 8, aimed almost north, 355 degrees: `Encore`, classical music, which is when I usually listen to it; 2300 `Wavescan` among innumerable repeats but this one is pre-Sunday nominal turnovers; 2330 WORLD OF RADIO; UT Sun 0000 `Texas Radio Shortwave` with two different hours each week including Europirate relays; 0200-0300 `Alt Universe Top 40` maybe too, I`ve not listened to but if you`re into that, see detailed setup on the Programming page. Since System L is displayed in ET, expect all the above times to shift one UT hour later from November 12-13; barring any further permanent changes. Unfortunately, heavy competition now such as: 00-01 `Theater Organ Under The Arch` on WTWW-2 5085, axually starting 5-10 minutes earlier; `The Mighty KBC` at 00-02 on 5960; `Encore` encore at 01-02 on other WRMIs, 5850 & 7780 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (5085), Sat Oct 23 at 2355, WTWW-2 webcast already into `TOUTA` for ~1 hour show, tribute to Bob Heil`s mentor and friend, George Wright, partly narrated by GW himself; 0049 UT Sun Oct 24 already wrapping up, plugging webcast available at ``WTWW.org`` --- NO, not unless they buy it from a squatter for $ 4988! It`s WTWW.us, strangely a seldom-used domain, why? Over at 0052, into hardsell Tedad (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5900, UT Sun Oct 24 at 0000, WRMI starts Texas R SW with `YROT` theme, intro by Second Mate Susan of Europirate KR1, 6285, Mike Express. Unfortunately I have to listen during this hour to the only broadcast/$ tereo webcast of `TOUTA` on WTWW-2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0445 UT October 24

Saturday, October 23 2021
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, again this Saturday, Oct 23, no signal from LRA36, checking from 1509 via Brasil SDR; first camping on another listener in Salem OR who has been hearing presumably nothing from quite a while earlier. When on, more likely Wednesdays now, nominal start is *1400 until 1600* but usually runs a bit, sometimes a lot, later, chopping off air without any formal closedown/signoff. Let`s hope the new crew be a bit more savvy about how to do a broadcast (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** BRAZIL. 5939.144v, Oct 23 at 0625, R. Voz Missionária with music and seems // 9 MHz frequency. Haven`t heard the lower one in some time, but when on, it`s obvious, way off-frequency from 5940. 9666.086V, Oct 23 at 0627, RVM also still >1 kHz off-frequency with music, seems // 5939.144v. The upper one keeps jumping back and forth, hard to tell if plus or minus, but at one point measured here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 5040, Oct 23 at 0633, RHC S9+20, still on here in English: you never know whether it last past 0600 nor whether English or Spanish. English also still 6060 humbuzzy, 6100 best, quite stronger than 6165. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 11840, Sat Oct 23 at 1700, Station YHWH with usual earnest sermonizing of nonsense, S5-S7 via VE6JY Alberta SDR, after hearing nothing via the Jordan, Utah Kiwi, must be too close for skip distance. Tnx to Rick Barton, Sonoran Desert of AZ, tip via WOR iog, from 1645. Also S4-S6 but noisier, direct to OK at 1706; and still at 1755 JBA; at 1759, S4-S5 to VE6JY and still past 1816 but gone by 1828 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 341-MCW kHz, Oct 22 at 1848 UT, I`m in the parking lot of Enid Woodring Regional Airport a few km east of the city. I take out the DX-398 which tunes below 530 kHz, and find there is NO signal on 341, no EI beacon ID, and not even a carrier. With internal antenna only, it does easily hear RG 350 in OKC and PN 515 in Ponca City. Earlier I had noted this along with a Michigan Area Radio Enthusiasts Tipsheet item: ``--LW/MW NDBs Dave Tomasko’s NDB logs (in frequency order): 20211018 1031 341 EI USA OK Enid 582`` ``I find this hard to believe. My local beacon has been unheard for many weeks, tho checked almost every day and night. Of course it could have been turned on briefly in the middle of the night once, when I definitely was not listening. I just checked again and it is certainly not there --- also logged some other beacons on same frequency such as OIN in Kansas. I may go out to Woodring Airport with the portable to find whether there be any sign of it. DT of Galena IL does accumulate massive NDB logs from all over.`` No info on his equipment, but it looks as if he use some sort of autologging program. Since then I continue to check 341 frequently, hearing nothing, or bits of OIN from Oberlin KS (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4724-USB, Oct 23 at 0635, US military with crypto message, long string of fonetik letters mixed with some numbers. Deliberately imposed self-QRM of background noise, reverb, and a constant whine from about 4724.9; 0637 ``This is Construct; out`` and off the air along with the whine carrier. There is a different ``ID`` each time (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2109 monitoring: confirmed UT Saturday October 23 at 0145 the 0130 on WRMI 9395, S9/S6 into Winnipeg KiwiSDR, which is more or less in the boresight of 355 degrees. Closer SDRs where I normally can get it, in MO, VA, barely have a signal in degraded propagation, and likely less to come in wintry nights. Also confirmed Sat Oct 23 from 1600 on WRN North America webcast. Next: 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 2330 UT Saturday WRMI 5950 to NNW 0030 UT Sunday WRMI 7730 to WNW 0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0430] 1230 UT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW; 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. RF 6, Oct 23 at 1512 UT, BAD DTV signal into STB, via my channel 7+ antenna pointed at OKC. Has to be KBSD-DT, 31 kW ERP at Ensign = Dodge City KS, the only full-power 6 anywhere around here, and correlates nicely with tropo maps showing a little blob around there to here. NO other BAD signals register on the open channels between 8 and 36. I do start my DTV bandscans at RF ch 6, but it`s a rare event when KBSD make a showing (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1849 UT October 23

Saturday, October 23 2021
** SPAIN [and non]. 11670, Oct 22 at 2157 checking for REE signals direct as token Friday English is imminent: this is the only one barely audible, unusable, with slight ute QRM minus not plus. If on air, 11940 should be much stronger tho probably distorted; and no signals at all on 15520 and for ``North America`` 17855. Recheck 11670 at 2300, via Maryland remote, two equally very poor stations with almost synchronized timesignals, REE and CNR-2 Business Radio from Beijing 491 site (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9830, Oct 22 at 2158, VOT IS & IDs prior to English hour, good S9+25, best on LSB to avoid RTTY; less undermodulated than sometimes and would be sufficient but I`ve no time to listen to it today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 338-MCW kHz, Oct 22 at 0628 UT, ND beacon RYN, 400 watts from Tucson / Ryan AZ. Only obvious one not heard on last night`s thorough bandscan. See also UNID (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2109 monitoring: confirmed Friday October 22 from 1815 on 918 kHz Villa Estense, Italy. Music from tune-in 1814 until 1815 quick ``IRRS Shortwave [sic], signing on`` and right into WOR. S9+20 into nearby Noale SDR and no QRM yet. As usual, IRRS really SW, 7290 via BULGARIA, lags behind, back to ``normal`` after pre-emption on 3rd Friday. Open carrier on before tune-in 1813 via UTwente, S7/S9+10, but modulation not cut on until almost 1816 as the WOR theme and intro is almost over. There is lite splash QRM not from first adjacent 7285 or 7295 where there is nothing, presumably from second-adj. 7300 bigsig S9+25 but which is undermodulated, i.e. IRAN in German but scheduled until 1820* only. WOR 2109 also confirmed Fri Oct 22 from 2030 UT on Italia AM, 918 kHz as above, now with lite CCI, perhaps SPAIN. Unfortunately, tuned in at 2026 via Noale, it`s Kim Elliott in lengthy central interview on AWR Wavescan, which is NOT on NEXUS-IBA schedule now, and certainly will not be finished by 2030; must have started about 2015. Yes, chopped off at 2030 for IRRS ID and WOR 2109 playback from its start as scheduled. Sorry, Kim; I had nothing to do with this. IRRS has this habit of filling time with random program fragments. Also confirmed Fri Oct 22 at 2230, newish time on WRMI 5950, S9+10 direct but some ACI from 5945 RRI English. Next: 0130 UT Saturday WRMI 9395 to NNW [confirmed but JBA via remotes] 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 2330 UT Saturday WRMI 5950 to NNW 0030 UT Sunday WRMI 7730 to WNW 0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0430] 1230 UT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW; 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. 15770, Oct 22 at 1452, no signal from this WRMI, 24 hours after first noted absent, their only daytime signal into Europe. Scheduled XMTR #9, 44 degrees at 11-02 with: 11-12 variety, 12-13 TOMBS, 13-14 variety, 14-20 SMTV, 20-21 variety, 21-22 Prague, 23-02 TOMBS; switching among four different Systems. 15770, however, Oct 22 at 2025, is back on into Virginia SDR, but JBA carrier into UTwente. At 2156 direct it`s sufficient. BTW altho the title for WRMI A-21 schedules still says August 14, skeds themselves are newly headed October 18, so be alert for further changes; so far same entries for WOR until DST stop (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7489.9v), Oct 23 from 0000, WBCQ webcast with `AAAWWW`. Not as overmodulated as before but still too much. Immediately equates Democrats with communists, nazis and moonbats, another show railing against all that`s wrong with a non-Trump-controlled America. I don`t need this, so dip in only occasionally during the hour. Seems to start complaining about Superman turning gay. 0019 interrupted by call from Mr. Rabishu, who says he hasn`t listened to news since 2019, instead monitors hams: some in California about discouraging gas-powered tools such as chainsaws, setting off A&A on another rant. ``Build Back America Better`` is BS, per Allan. Servitude was accepted back then 200-300 years ago by good people - so give them a break? But we know now it was wrong. Last few minutes, skimming a few FRW items, prayer and off. John Carver`s version: ``Tonight's show started on time on 4790, 6160 and 7490 this evening with the best signal being 7490. Allan and Angela in the studio. Show starts immediately with a rant from Allan about the changes to the Superman slogan. He refused to say what it had been changed to but I'm guessing it no longer ends with Truth, Justice and the American way. Then he asks about "woke" movement is all about and also asks about Critical Race Theory. Then into the price of fuel, inflation and politics. Phone call at 0018 but I can't make out caller or the question as all three frequencies have gotten terribly noisy. Then into vaccine talk after the phone call. Another phone call at 0026 and then into talk about statues being removed or destroyed. Phone call at 0038 that Allan calls Pastor. At this time the best signal I can get out of the three frequencies is an S3. Then Allan plays some sort of audio from the Pastor that had just been on the phone. Maybe a sermon? Reading of emails at 0056 along with a very brief scan of the new Free Radio Weekly. Closing prayer at 0059 and off air at 0101. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 378 kHz, Oct 22 at 0620 UT, NDB bandscan finds intermittent dashes, dits and dahs. Sounds like an NDB but very out of order. If really on 378, dxinfocentre.com lists only four, in BC, OR, QC and NU, none very likely here. classaxe.com has only the three Canadians, with OR and several more marked out, and none of them, then or now noted with any problem like this. It`s still possible this was a local device previously unnoticed. Anyone else hearing thus? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Oct 22 at 0612-0618 UT: 531, 558, 567, 576(2), 603(2), 612, 621, 639, 666, *684, 693, 774(2), 837, 846-TP?, 882(2), 909, 999, 1017(2), *1044, 1098, 1107(2), 1116(2), 1125, 1152, 1215(2), 1305(2), 1314, 1413 kHz. *strongest, probably Spain.
