** CUBA. 9700, Nov 27 at 0723, RHC English on this new frequency, S9 and undermodulated --- and by now NONE of The Cuban Five are still on the air on 59 & 49 metres! Not clear when it start but not yet on when I checked ~7 hours earlier. Tnx for tip last night in BDXC-UK:
``Radio Havana Cuba (RHC) English heard on 9700 kHz this morning [Nov 26], instead of 6165 kHz, from 0520 UTC tune-in. In parallel to regular strong 6000 kHz. At 0600 UTC, 6000 and 9700 were joined by usual frequencies 5040 6060 and 6100 kHz in English. 9700 is difficult to hear here in the UK as Voice of Turkey uses 9700 in Turkish 0400-0700 UTC. But RHC was audible further west in USA on 9700 using KiwiSDRs e.g. in Kansas or Colorado. (RHC had used 9700 in B20 period for a few weeks from November 2020 but then had reverted to 6145 if I remember correctly). 73 Alan Pennington, Caversham, UK`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** FRANCE. 15285.052V, Nov 27 at 1620, algo JBA off-frequency and wavering. Aoki shows this hour is R. Manara International in Hausa via Issoudun site. With my habitual USB bandscanning in 1-kHz steps, these stick out sorethumbedly. See also SAO TOME (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SAO TOME E PRINCIPE. 15460.070, Nov 27 at 1622, another JBA off-frequency besides FRANCE 15285+. This one is VOA Pinheira scheduled this semihour in Kir = Kinyarwanda/Kirundi (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 2097.3 CW, Nov 27 at 0730 UT, the single-letter beacon A is back!!! JBA. I bandscan past here almost every night and have always been alert for it since last logged in *2020*: ``UNIDENTIFIED. 2097.3, May 31 at 0619 UT, single-letter beacon A is JBA in noise level, every dekasecond. Altho a reliable source has assured us it is not heard as a local signal in Quartzsite AZ, I see in classaxe.com it is still placed in Quartzite [sic] with a period of 10.14 seconds, last logged by anyone there 2020-08-05. QZ is about 17 miles from the CA border on I-10`` With a 10-second period, one must park on 2097 USB for at least that long. I keep listening a while and find it has sometimes faded out. It barely makes it vs noise level of S7-S8 in USB mode, or S8-S9 in AM mode. Now not to be found on classaxe nor LWCA lists. Also note the numerical date cited ``2020-08-05``, but that was posted on May 31, 2020, when Aug 5 would have been in the future. Did that mean May 8?? Not the usual format, but another failure of ambiguous numerical dating, rather than not being too lazy to spell out the month! 4095.65, Nov 27, 2021 at 0728, the Desert Whooper beacon also JBA with sweeps upward, as often heard no more than that and not always logged (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2114 monitoring: checking 7290 IRRS via BULGARIA early at 1903 Fri Nov 26: already on with `Feature Story News, Spotlight`; via UTwente, only S6-S7 with heavy ACI from 7295 China, even when tuning LSB only. Also on 918 kHz, Italia AM, via Noale remote a few seconds apart, S9+5/15 above Spanish CCI and also ACI from 909, not much on 927; 1905 `UN News in Brief`. 1909 `Country Jamboree` with tunes including `Wake Up, Little Susie`. But only filler until 1915 IRRS SW ID falsely claiming that it`s in reduced carrier SSB; and right into WOR 2114 as scheduled; recheck ending at 1944 so played to completion, but had faded down further, still heavy 7295 ACI; and into music, hymns. Also confirmed repeat Fri Nov 26 at 2130 on 918 kHz only, S9+10 into nearby Noale, with SAH and het from an unID carrier about 919.50 -6 Hz which was not there earlier. Also checking the 909 kHz ACI: it`s in Romanian. Three different stations are listed, so three different programs: 200 kW Cluj with R3 and Hungarian/ethnic; 50 kW Timishoara with pgm 1; 25 kW Constantsa with R4. Also confirmed Fri Nov 26 at 2330 on WRMI 5950, S9+10/20 direct. Also confirmed UT Saturday November 27 at 0230 on WRMI 9395, but can`t find a good signal anywhere, tnx a lot, MUF! VP to MO and MB SDRs, nothing to WI, despite 355 azimuth; best offbeam at Maryland S8 vs high noise level. Next: 2030vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 0030 UT Sunday WRMI 7730 to WNW, 5950 to NNW 0400vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0415; as late as 0530] 1330 UT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670 2100 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW 0130 UT Monday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0400vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?] 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. Thanks this week to Steve McGreevy, N6NKS, Keeler CA for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com and says, ``LOOOOOONNNGGG overdue, Glenn(!), and thanks very much for your endless wonderful work for the DX community!`` One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7490, Nov 27 at 0036, WBCQ chex via Maryland remote: this one is S9 but -57 Hz off-frequency = 7489.943 during FKB gospel huxter. 6160 S5 with rock at -52 Hz = 6159.948. 4790 S7 with TOMBS -19.5 Hz = 4789.9805. 3265: NO signal. 9330 S9+10 in WLCR Brazuguese, +0.6 Hz = 9330.0006. I`m all set for `AAAWWW` on 7490 webcast, UT Sat from 0100: abrupt JIP `WTO` theme, ``Here we go`` interjexion. A&A are somewhat overmodulated especially when they interrupt and try to talk over each other. Allan says it`s ``live``. About picking his nose; riding horses, Angela doesn`t know how, so is taking lessons? 0113 ``trimulcasting` on 7490, 6160, 4790. 0124, `Amos `n` Andy` was hugely popular at 7 pm ET, every family listening. Whether old radios should be restored to operational or collected as are, e.g. Atwater-Kents which were very well made. On and on about radios and very little political diatribe this week. 0153 FRW stuff, presumably from last week since this week`s isn`t out yet. 0156 he finally makes a datestamp, 26 of November, YOOLF 2021; on 7490, 6160, 4790, but specifically says ``3265 not tonight`` (Wolfgang Bueschel reported hearing it a few days ago at a very different time, but never heard here; he since retracted that). Quick look at email including new pirate logs just in from Larry Will. 0159 prayer running over, closing, and 0201 JIP Hal Turner. John Carver`s version: ``Tonight's show started on time on 4790, 6160 with a very poor signal and 7490 was not much better. Allan and Angela in the studio and opening talk about horses and mounting and dismounting horses bareback. Then some radio talk and a conversation about an old tube that Allan has on the desk and then into crystal radio sets. Then into commercial radio sets from the late twenties and thirties. At 0153 Allan reads the highlights from the Free Radio News. A bit of political talk about the IRS and some other governmental agencies at 0155 and then some emails. Program was off the air at 0200. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5970, Nov 27 at 0725, WEWN Spanish missing again. 12050, Nov 27 at 1618 check, other WEWN Spanish frequency remains, S9 with praise song (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 3215, Nov 27 at 0728, WWCR-1 is OFF, remaining the other three on 4840, 5890, 5935 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1827 UT November 27

** CANADA. Nov 26 at 0724-0745 UT, another quiet night for LW beacons, only minor storms in NAm along the BCS/BCN border and the Tamaulipas coast. Skipping relogs of some major Canadians stronger than usual:
276 MCW kHz, Nov 26 at 0730 UT, dash and YEL, 200 watt NDB at ELliott Lake, Ontario, to be decommissioned 2022-01-27. I always wish this were YELlowknife NWT, but that`s ZF, 3800 watts on 356. 269 MCW kHz, Nov 26 at 0732 UT, dash and UDE, 25 watt NDB at Delta, Manitoba 218 MCW kHz, Nov 26 at 0734 UT, dash and YUY, 500 watt NDB at Rouyn-Noranda, Québec, a new one for me 351 MCW kHz, Nov 26 at 0738 UT, dash and YKQ, 500 watt NDB at Fort Rupert / Waskaganish, Québec; also audible tuned to 350-USB QRMing my regular RG in OKC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also USA for five more ** U S A. Nov 26 at 0724-0745 UT, another quiet night for LW beacons, only minor storms in NAm along the BCS/BCN border and the Tamaulipas coast. 338 MCW kHz, Nov 26 at 0724 UT, RYN, 400 watt ND beacon at Tucson / Ryan AZ. Mixing with something else, maybe TU Tulsa or TT StuTTgart AR heard before. Careful not to confuse with RYD in FL. 329 MCW kHz, Nov 26 at 0726 UT, AAA, 25 watt NDB at Lincoln / Abraham IL. Tuned to 327-USB. 293 MCW kHz, Nov 26 at 0728 UT, UI, 30 watt NDB at qUIncy IL, mixing with FBY, 25 watts at FairBurY NE: the latter normally dominant alone, and no sign now of TOR in WY. These three are the only USAs on 293 per dxinfocentre.com 201 MCW kHz, Nov 26 at 0737 UT, BV, 25 watt NDB at Bartlesville OK. Seldom heard 379 MCW kHz, Nov 26 at 0744 UT, DL, 50 watt NDB at Duluth MN. Now clearly this and not TIL, with the D properly sent without pause (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also CANADA for four more this session ** U S A. 13563.5, Nov 26 at 1505 UT, HIFER beacon YSO, Yellow Springs, Ohio, JBA call repeating vs CODAR but definitely gaining on it. No K6FRC on 13565 now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2114 monitoring: confirmed first SWBCs, UT Friday November 26 at 0130 on WRMIs: 5850 good direct and S9+30 into MO SDR; 7780, 9+10/15 into UTwente above some lightning crashes; nearest storms in Corsica, central Mediterranean. Also confirmed UT Fri Nov 26 at 0330 on WRMI 5985 southward; VP to TWR Boa Vista SDR; JBA to Trinidad; nor to TWR DR; axually better off the back to USA SDRs: S5-S6 to Knoxville, but ACI 5980 jamming; best to Uniontown PA, S9 but SAM reads +95 Hz carrier; yet others such as Querétaro, S7-S8 shows only -7 Hz. I think the Uniontown is miscalibrated. One of the transmitters has shown this fault for several months. For a long time it was parked on 11530/9525 jamming Denge Welat. But they tend to switch the transmitters around. I e-mailed Hasan Altan of TRT engineering about the squealy modulation on August 5. He promised to pass this information on to the engineers at Emirler, and he would monitor the situation. Nothing happened for several months, so I e-mailed him again on October 19. So far, no reply. Another of the transmitters suffers from slight hum and a lower modulation output. You have no doubt observed this on several occasions when listening. Regarding your often reported missing 2200/2300 English broadcast, I suspect it might be their time for transmitter maintenance. Including the jammer on Denge Welat, all five transmitters are in use at one point (1400) during the day. but this drops down to only one or two between 2300 and 0200 UT. Sent: Thursday, November 25, 2021, 09:58:00 PM GMT+1 Subject: World of Radio Hitlist Update
Hi Glenn,
My latest Hitlist update. https://www.w4uvh.net/hitlist.htm
A huge thank you to Peter Jones who has run the HitList through a URL checker and as a result identified a number of broken links or links which re-direct to new pages. This has prompted a thorough review of the HitList (the entries that I have fixed which were highlighted by Peter as broken are indicated by *PG below).
