DX/SWL/MEDIA PROGRAMS, March 12 updated with expected time changes due to DST https://www.worldofradio.com/dxpgms.html
** ANTARCTICA. 15476 RC USB, March 11 at 2104, LRA36 is on with music, S6/S8 into Argentine SDR, as per further advance publicity of a 6-hour broadcast starting at 2100 this Saturday. Too much else is going on for me to monitor this continuously. 2207 interview via phone? There is constant humbuzz, which annoyingly surges during pauses: must have AVC in the circuit. 2221 RAE multilingual ID; 2223 voice of a YL listener with greeting; 2224 contact info; 2225 temp as 2.4 C, wind 38 kph. At 2227 I try for it direct but nothing yet. 2229 acknowledging a report from England. By 2309 it has become JBA direct! S3/S4 about equal to noise level. By 2346 during song it`s peaking S5. Direct path to here is mostly oversea, missing the western bulge of S America, crossing near Mexico`s narrowest part into the Gulf and of course, trans-Texas. Further east, the signal has to traverse the length of the South American landmass, including bouncing across the Andes, not helpful. But during this hour it`s widely reported across western N America. 2355 I`m back on remote for convenience; Morse code, YL calling CQ and ham news bulletin, efemérides; into March 12: 0003 credits, LU1ZV in Morse code. 0019 RAE multi-lang ID; 0020 ``sign-on`` canned announcement, scripted piece. Some of this is sounding very familiar, probably recorded repeats; like ``malvinazar``. 0116 starts a new program `Tranquilo Sur` about southern Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. 0151 still JBA direct S3/S4. Back to remote, a different inferior one as the first one has unavailablized. 0210 LRA36 ID. 0257 speech before a laughing audience; 0302* off seemingly without a formal s/off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11670, March 11 at 0748, RHC still on in Spanish, S9/+10. All the 49mb frequencies are off. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 7475 AM, March 12 at 0253* tune-in Utah remote just in time to hear ``going dark`` -- i.e. anti-Christ pirate Station YHWH, active again as tipped in the WOR iog. His first night back since November was last night, UT March 11 when he remained past 0400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SLOVENIA. 10128 CW, March 11 at 0731, CQ DX DE S57##. Could not copy whole call, but S57 = Slovenia. Nothing found in exhaustive log at dxheat.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960.015, March 11 at 2315, VOT English is on today, VG S9+30/45 into UTwente, talking about the Black Sea; 2352 s/off, fragment of IS and cut off 2353.6* uncovering XJPBS (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2181 monitoring: confirmed UT Saturday March 11 starting at 0130:13 on WRMI 5850. Maryland and Bonaire remotes where signal is weaker, have noise QRM also centered on 5850, like jamming? but not pulsing Cuban-style. Missouri remote where it`s aimed, is clear of the noise. Also confirmed UT Saturday March 11 at 0500 on WBCQ Radio Angela, S9+10/20 into Missouri SDR showing -17 Hz = 5129.983. Also confirmed Saturday March 11 at 1700 on WRN N America webcast. Also confirmed ending Saturday March 11 at 2103 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S9+20 into nearby SDR at +007 Hz. Also confirmed Saturday March 11 at 2230 on WRMIs: 5850, S9 into Missouri SDR; 15770 S9+20 into same off the side, and holding up at S9+10 into UTwente. Also confirmed UT Sunday March 12 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S8/9+10 into Louisiana SDR, blasted by noise during the first 14 seconds. Also confirmed UT Sunday March 12 from 0452 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, via nearby remote but with heavy storm noise from Arkansas/Tennessee. Next: 0800 UT Sunday Unique R, Australia 5035 USB [low power] 0830 UT Sunday Unique R, Australia 5035 USB [previous episode] 2100 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy [some DST time changes start here:] 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW 0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035 USB [low power] 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Like our website, a noncommercial service for which financial support is appreciated; this week from James Ferry, Thornville OH, ``Thanks for providing SW frequency schedules`` with a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - in US funds but not necessarily. One may also contribute via postal MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7489.9v), March 11 at 0100, webcast of WBCQ with `Allan and Angela Weiner Worldwide`, new one, always starts with reminding us how beautiful Angela is to him, but hardly a word from her during the hour. Is trimulcasting on 7490, 6160, 5130, live if we are hearing this on March 10. Mentions that SuperStition 9330 is off the air again: transmitter problems in this complex machine. Still needs to hire two engineers with high-power experience. Mostly about the value of AM radio, which includes SW, vs removing AM from new cars, especially EVs, reading articles from Radio World, etc. Condemns North Korean Communism, and linx it to Communism taking over US government -- !? Not much more of politix. 0154 some email agreeing with him, no new Free Radio Weekly yet. 0201 JIP Hal Turner (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 10125 USB, March 11 at 0733, finally some phone activity on 30m again; sounds like Aussie accent but too weak to copy or ID (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0510 UT March 12 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Saturday, March 11 2023
** ANTARCTICA. 15475, March 10 at 2155, very briefly seems to be a signal here, not 15476, into Argentine SDR, LRA36? But then no trace either on another Arg SDR, surely funxional from waterfall.
For this date had been publicized a 6-hour broadcast starting at 2100 on 15476 USB as via AER El Dial; see: http://radioclub.perche.free.fr/?p=11616 That page also linx to LRA36 audio archives, new to me: https://www.radionacional.com.ar/tag/lra-36-arcangel-san-gabriel/ However, soon after that went out on the WOR iog, Eduard in Moskva said he had been JB hearing it until 1600! Kari Kallio, Finland, was hearing something into Brasil at 2151 on 15474.90 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA. 6007 USB, March 10 at 0736, Trenton Military found here! with usual VOLMET; S9+20, nice clear frequency, nothing on 6005 or 6010, but missing from 6754. Someone must have grossly mispunched the keypad and unlikely to land here again! What else is wrong? I copy for about 5 minutes: Split [Croatia]; Ancona-Falconara [Italy] = no report received; Thule; Ancona-F NRR; Ancona-F NRR. Terminal Forecasts: Zagreb NRR; Split NRR; Ancona-F; Thule NRR; At 0739 gives own time as ``0635z`` --- after years their own clock is still more than an hour off! Then Shannon, Prestwick, Keflavík; Lajes NRR... We can only hope that in matters of life-and-death, Canada`s military achieve a bit more accuracy. Jon Collins, Birmingham UK, was hearing Trenton on 6754 at 2345 March 10. Recheck here March 11 at 0039 UT: on proper 6754 USB, but ``time, 2335z`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA [and non]. 15340, March 10 at 1622, Chinese talk and bit of opera, S9+10 with heavy flutter, no doubt CNR1 jammer * per Aoki vs Sound of Hope, Pingtung, Taiwan, relaying RFA at 0000-1703 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11670, March 10 at 0637, RHC English S8/9+10 and sounding weaker // 11760 S9/+10. Only remaining // is much louder 6000 at S9+20/30. Something`s always wrong at RHC. 0753 recheck, both still on with dead air while 6000 is off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KOREA NORTH [and non]. 9100, March 10 at 0745, heavy noise jamming atop presumed Korean talk amounting to S7/S9; i.e. Echo of Hope abbr`d nonsensically to `VOH`, one of 7 frequencies with new 7640 added as heard by Ron Howard with clip on WOR 2181. Not all of them are jammed? Each may shift 5 kHz; this one could be 9095 or 9105 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. Mix Radio International, unsolicited but nice appreciated eQSL received March 7 in response to my reporting hearing them with classical on WOR 2179. Log was on UT Feb 19: https://www.w4uvh.net/MixRIntl_11950_11935.jpg or #139 via http://www.worldofradio.com/QSL.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960.003+, March 10 at 2300, VOT English manages to be on air today, VG S9+30/40 into UTwente. 2315 `Weekly Commentary` on EQ aid from various countries, notably Israel as relations improve. 2323 `Feeling Supreme/The Healing Supring`, repeat about the health benefits of dill, this time read by a woman without the heavy accent. 2330 music. 2343 `Did You Know That` repeat about copper handicrafts; music. 2352 s/off, 2353 IS to 2355* uncovering XJPBS which had been JBA underneath, std denunciation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 420 MCW kHz, March 10 at 0748 UT, PK, 25-watt nondirexional beacon at Olathe/Herbb KS, JBA at the edge of the persistent local noise hump peaking around 400. 356 MCW kHz, March 10 at 0759, ODX, 25-watt NDB at Ord, Nebraska (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2180 monitoring: ``From: Richard Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees. Dear Glenn: Confirming World of Radio #2180, This week has been a stormy time on the sun, WRMI: 9395, 0031, 0046, 0059 (45333), S9 signal, 0059, March 8 [Wed] 9395, 0130, 0142, 0146, 0159, close S7, S9, March 9 [Thu] (Lemke, Richard -AB)`` WORLD OF RADIO 2181 monitoring: confirmed Friday March 10 at 1530-1559 on WRMI 9955, only S6/S8 and undermodulated? This is now the first weekly airing on WRMI, and from next week should shift to 1430. Would expect off today after 1600 but still going with TOMBS at 1614. Also confirmed Friday March 10 at 2130 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz only, S9+10/20 into nearby Noale SDR with only slight CCI from understation presumably Brighton. Next: 0130 UT Saturday WRMI 5850 to NW 0500 UT Saturday WBCQ Radio Angela 5130v to WSW 2030vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 2230 UT Saturday WRMI 5850 to NW 2230 UT Saturday WRMI 15770 to NE 0030 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to SW 0345vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0415; as late as 0557] 0800 UT Sunday Unique R, Australia 5035 USB [low power] 0830 UT Sunday Unique R, Australia 5035 USB [previous episode] 2100 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? 9330 WBCQ missing for a week: this twit has now been posted: ``Allan Weiner @AllanWBCQ · Mar 9 --- Worlds Superstation down again. Transmitter problems. We are working on it. We need good transmitter engineers. Great station-good salary. Come work for us. Resumes to wbcq@wbcq.com. Help keep the shortwaves alive and well. Thank you all👌.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9475, March 10 at 2115, WTWW is back on air inbooming with PPPP on SFAW. George McClintock updates us: was off air for several days, due to windstorm causing power outages in Nashville area, also at his home for almost a week. Rhombic antennas had broken wires, some still sagging and need to be tightened up out of reach. Other two transmitters remain nonfunxional. Station is still for sale and is working on some leads. Schedule during DST will stay same in CT = UT 20-23 on 9475, 23-0430 on 5085 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0051 UT March 11 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
