Hauser
** BOTSWANA. 17895, Jan 11 at 1723, VOA English, S5-S7, relay at
1700-1800, 100 kW at 350 degrees. Somewhat better than only other sigs
on band, BBC 17830 Ascension, 17780 Woofferton.

VOA site sometimes referred to as Selebi-Phikwe, othertimes as Moepeng
Hill. WRTH uses both, but where is this, really? East central
Botswana, near the Zimbabwe border; close to which city? 100 km SSE of
Francistown, which used to be a radio site. It`s the second-largest
city, 100K after capital Gaborone. Apparently has not been
de-Anglicized in nomenclature. Wikipedia: ``The present town was
founded in 1897 as a settlement near the Monarch mine and named after
Daniel Francis, an English prospector from Liverpool who acquired
prospecting licences in the region in 1869.``

Selebi-Phikwe is half the size of F-town, and known for nickel mining.
Moepeng Hill is known as MW transmitter site, both for VOA 600 kW on
909 along with the SW; and R. Botswana, 100 kW on 621 kHz. M.H.
appears to be a hill rather than a populated place, about 25 km west
of S.P., so closer to due south from Francistown. A medium-sized
African country, Botswana is 85.79% the area of Texas, but sparsely
populated (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9700, Jan 11 at 0701, S9/8 of dead air in English, the only
RHC frequency still on. and it`s useless. Something`s always wrong at
RHC. Time for The Other Side, anyway:

``READ TODAY THE CUBA OF TOMORROW --- January 11, 2022 OPINION
Díaz-Canel seeks to dupe Cubans by citing 'demographic dynamics'
Raulist neo-Castroism stands out for 'solving' non-existent problems
to avoid facing real ones. --- RAFAELA CRUZ | La Habana``
https://diariodecuba.com/cuba/1641829821_36694.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9899.6, Jan 11 at 2144 & 2208 chex at UTwente, NO signal
from R. Cairo in English; gave up or working on it? (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** MALI. 13645, Jan 11 at 1728, one of best signals on band, S9-S7 in
talk with drumming, CRI or rather CGTN Radio in Swahili via Bamako II,
which is 100 kW at 111 degrees aimed right at Dar es Salaam. So why is
it so good over here, not directly offback 291 degrees, but hits
Habana barely missing USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 1640, Jan 11 at 0729 UT, KZLS Enid, having ``lent`` its
branding to co-owned 96.9 KQOB, now disposes of its own true identity,
IDing as ``The Eagle 96-9`` and ``only talk station with 100,000
watts``. Well, that certainly beats the KOKC translator on 95.3, and
the KTLR on 103.7, but really, in the OKC market? Well, yes, per:
https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/locate?select=city&city=oklahoma+city&x=0&y=0
if you discount public radio semi-`talk` station KOSU 91.7. That`s far
too intelligent for The Eagle demographic, which targets the spectrum
from `Red Eye Radio` to `Alex Jones`. Hey, why doesn`t talker KTOK
1000 have at least an FM translator-wagger? Get with it (Glenn Hauser,
Enid, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2120 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday January 11

** U S A. (7490.1v), UT Tue Jan 11 at 0030, after hearing the secret
semi-repeat of `UBMP` on WBCQ webcast, `Camp Constitution Radio`
starts with theme notes, then prolog-commercial, this time something
about Quitting -- I don`t get it, and almost sounds like a parody. If
real, may pay for the `CCR` airtime (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1200 kHz, Jan 11 at 0727 UT, gospel huxterism overriding
WOAI, where at less than 500 miles away, we ought to be within its
prime ``clear channel`` 50 kW ND coverage area --- Plugs
calvarysearch.com and program title seems `The Verdict`, non-IDs for
``Faith 1200``, i.e. KFNW West Fargo ND, still far out-of-whack, not
protecting WOAI. Makes SAH of about 5 Hz, counting the ``fades`` as
the seconds on my watch tick by (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. More replies on the UDXF iog thread about the 6114 RTTY,
January 7 into 8:

``No way was it 850 shift yesterday evening, although the speed may
have been 75. It was a 200 Hz shift FSK synchronous (encrypted) signal
which MultiPSK was giving out at around 50 Bauds. 73 de JimD
(MPJ)``

``It's on 6114 CF at the moment using 850 Hz shift -- Martin - South
West UK`` [no time displayed]

``Antonio I56578 Jan 7 #102673 --- Hard to state the speed, poor
SNR.``

``Leon Koning Jan 7 #102680 --- Hi, if it is 850/75/enc then it’s not
new, i catched it in Q3 last year. Don’t know where t’s from but it
looks like US Navy. Someone has to confirm this but this TX is
proberbly // with 5454.50 (cf) r/Leon``

``Mike Chace-Ortiz Jan 7 #102683 --- See my earlier posts on this
thread, Leon, It’s from the Azores. —mco``

``You were right Mike. Apologies. It's now much stronger here and is
showing 882 Hz shift while MultiPSK is giving out silly speeds, but it
is indeed 75 Bauds by ear. 73 de JimD (MPJ)``

``Antonio I56578 Jan 8 #102704 --- for what concerns the speed, it's
75 bps on-air but the actual bps rate is 50 bps (1 bit out-of 3 is
repeated) ciao Antonio`` [with graphic] (via Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 12000, Jan 10 at 0702, RHC English is S1 JBA on 2 x 6000, //
9700 much stronger; at 0712, 6100 is still on but S7-S9 of humbuzz
only. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960, Jan 10 at 2337, JBA carrier only direct:
must be EAST TURKISTAN, rather than AWOL VOT English: yes, since at
2346 recheck, undermodulated music at S9+10/20 from Turkey on late or
intermittently. One more check, this time via remote in Maryland, at
2354: S5-S6, and the TRT interval signal is playing --- backwards!!!!
I had just started to record it when cut off air at 2356*. Could they
be playing it off a reel-to-reel tape? Cassettes won`t play backwards.
I suppose some software could do it, deliberately, or by accident?
First time I have heard any backwards music in many years; thanks,
VOT, where something`s always awry at Ankara, and/or erroneous at
Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2120 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
January 9 from 2100.5 on AM Italia, 918 kHz, S9+20 into nearby Noale
SDR; from 2058 music, 2059 dead air, no ID but Madrid timesignal
audible, before joining WOR after theme has started. Checking LW 207
kHz via same SDR, trace of algo, imagination level maybe me talking.

NOT confirmed Sunday January 9 at 2330 on WRMI 9955, replaced by
something else as now shown on program sked. But still at same time on
WRMI 5950, S9+35 into Knoxville SDR. This leaves WOR with only two
times on 9955 when there are also webcasts and phonecasts: Fri 1530 &
Tue 2330.

Confirmed UT Monday January 10 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG direct
S9+20/30.

Also confirmed UT Monday January 10 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, S9/+10.
System G program sked continues to show this also on 9455 and also
same time UT Thursday, but for weeks/months, 9455 has really split to
System J = SMTV at 0100!

Also confirmed UT Mon Jan 10 at 0230 on WRN North America webcast.

Also confirmed UT Mon Jan 10 from almost 0401 on Area 51 via WBCQ
6160-, but JBA into Missouri SDR, offset -58 Hz = 6159.942, S6/S7 vs
storm crashes along the Gulf coast. 0428 at Knoxville it`s S3-S6 on
6159.968. All those Kiwis need to be calibrated. Next:

2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?]
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW

** U S A. 5970, Jan 10 at 1548, surprised to hear Spanish here at S9,
WEWN on much later than expected and // 12050 at S9+10. 1558 recheck,
5970 is off. Normally only one or the other, but Glen Tapley admitted
to me that two different transmitters are used for lower and higher
frequencies. B21 HFCC shows 5970 at 00-14, 12050 at 14-24 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5920, Jan 9 at 2339, Jan 10 at 0007, NO signal from WHRI.
Nor Jan 11 at 0018 check via Maryland remote. Giampiero Bernardini,
Milano, Italy, had reported it, via SW Bulletin: ``5920 Dec31 0005
WHRI, Cypress Creek SC USA, English religious, fair (Bernardini)``

WHRI has been inactive! Pending sale to anyone but WBCQ, Did he get an
ID? It is however registered in HFCC available B21 all the way from 23
to 12 UT, A21 00-12, and no other station currently at 0005. Possibly
it was turned on once for some test. Or could the frequency be
misremembered? Like 7520 has WWCR on it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VATICAN. 13830, Jan 10 at 1551, VR in Amharic, S9/+10, with
long/short path echo. This is 250 kW at 135 degrees. Exacerbated by
SMG capability of radiating considerable signal directly off the back
of antenna, which would be 315 degrees, USward. Strangely enough,
distancefromto.net does have Santa Maria di Galeria in its database,
computing distance direct to Enid as 8786.29 km = 5459.55 statute
miles.

Rounding off a bit, taking Earth circumference as 40,075 km, the
longpath = 31289 km, which is 22503 km further than shortpath. Taking
speed of light at 299,792 km/sec, that makes a delay of 0.075 second
or approx. 1/13 of one second echo. That is, assuming propagation at
ground level, so everything slightly further bouncing up and down from
the ionosphere. How many hops, I wonder?

11935, Jan 10 at 1557, I also hear the other VR Amharic, just in time
with IS and cut off at 1558*; no echo noted. This one is 250 kW at 113
degrees from SMG (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6114, re my RTTY reports vs carrier on 6115, Jan 9 at
0502, Ron Howard replies: ``Hi Glenn, On Jan 9, tuned by 6115 a number
of times (0500+ UT). Heard the RTTY there about 50% of the time, so
rather erratic. As for Congo, in the past I often noted them starting
about *0525, but rarely much earlier. Recently have only been hearing
Japan and RTTY. Ron, California``

Lou Johnson says, Jan 10 at 1339 UT, ``6115 Clear last night (1/9),
here in Atlanta. Maybe they figured it out? Lou`` --- maybe he means
UT Jan 10. Comment also copied to WWCR and VORW, since 6115 QRM would
concern them if between 22 and 02 UT. No RTTY detectable here Jan 10
circa 2340 when WWCR is blasting in on 6115 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9700, Jan 9 at 0722, only RHC channel still on, S9+20 and
undermodulated, as `Ed Newman` plays a clip from the US left-wing
`Democracy Now`, Amy Goodman reporting on migrants dying in the
English channel with no help from France or Britain. How about some
Democracy, now in Cuba? Ha2. I`m barely awake at 0805 so seek weekly
Esperanto which should be running now on one 6 MHz channel like 6100,
but nowhere to be found, not even 9700. Something`s always wrong at
RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9899.6, Jan 9 at 2205, again no English signal from R. Cairo
into UTwente. But other transmissions continue:

``Remarkably well modulated signal. Jan. 9 at 1530 UT on 9440 in
Albanian. They CAN get it right if they try. Still the annoying buzz
on this particular transmitter. The other transmitter on 9900 has been
off air Jan. 3 through 8. Either it is undergoing repair or they have
given up. Strange that Albanian should get preference over the other
languages on their sked. Alan Holder, G4ZBH, Isle of Wight, U.K.``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6929.911 AM, Jan 8 at 2310, JBA S5/S6 pirate music
and talk. These say it`s Pandemic Radio:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also UNIDENTIFIED

** NORTH AMERICA. 6950 USB, Jan 9 at 0228 and 0237+, jazz S4/S5 into
Maryland SDR. These logs had Outhouse Radio, but off at 0100*
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,91388.0.html
back on later or something else unreported? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960, Jan 8 at 2300, VOT English VG S9+35 into
UTwente, news about Kazakhstan. Today`s transmitter is the one with
good modulation and no squeal! Direct at 2312, it`s S8-S9, poor with
flutter, noise.

5959.979, Jan 9 at 0007, The Mighty KBC via Nauen, GERMANY, S9+18/20,
measured here but with ripple SAH, CCI into UTwente, probably not
Turkey bonus German but PBS Xinjiang, Urumqi, EAST TURKISTAN, land of
imperialist ChiCom genocide, per Aoki carrying CNR1 during this
semihour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2120 monitoring:: confirmed
Saturday January 8 at 2054.5 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, S9+12 into nearby
SDR, about 23 minutes into so started circa 2032.

Also confirmed UT Sunday January 9 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG direct.

Also confirmed UT Sunday January 9 at 0455.5 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, S9+20
into nearby SDR, with storm noise from as close as Arkansas, about 2
minutes into so started circa 0453.

** U S A. 5950, UT Sun Jan 9 at 0030-0045, WRMI with `Postcard
Panorama` of poetry and radio-related musings by Tammy Walker. Yes,
it`s a repeat of the original episode one week ago so we may expect a
new one monthly, with further chances to hear it this month on UT Jan
16, 23, 30. Solo `cello classical music filled from 0045, before 0100
Texas Radio SW with songs about Texas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (5085), UT Sun Jan 9 at 0100, WTWW-2 still with hamstuff,
`TOUTA` not yet despite previous weeks starting as much as 10 minutes
earlier. It is running by 0108, but I am mainly listening to `Encore`
classical music on WRMI 5850 which starts punxually at 0100! Heard
last few minutes of TOUTA until chopped abruptly at 0207 to ``CQ`` and
WTWW ID, back to rock music. Bob Heil had plugged listening to webcast
where it`s in stereo, my preference too (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 3215, UT Sun Jan 9 at 0025, no signal from WWRB when it
would normally be active weekends only; nor 3360 at 0217 Jan 9, the
new frequency it had been on for a few weeks.

If Dave Frantz died January 2 as reported, it might have still been on
UT Sun Jan 2 but not UT Mon Jan 3. My only check was Jan 3 at 0255
when not on 3360. My last log was: ``3215, Dec 26 at 2328, S9/+25 of
dead air from WWRB; not to be outdone by CUBA, some modulation missing
at Manchester`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 3215, Jan 9 at 0217, WWCR-1 is not off the air; `Musical
Memories` with Martha Garvin hymning at her piano. It seems there will
be no more timesharing 3215 with WWRB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130 kHz, Jan 9 at 1747 UT, KLEY Wellington KS is still dead
air of S9+20; stronger than adjacent Okies on 1120 & 1140 which do
manage to modulate. Also noticed previous night as OC mixing with KWKH
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6114, Jan 9 at 0502, RTTY is rampant again, US Navy
Azores or Italy? Vs JBA carrier on 6115, Nikkei Japan already if not
Congo? It`s 1402 JST but near the shortest day of the year. Congo
supposedly not active where it`s 0602 LST equatorially; but EiBi
suggests variable opening around 0515 UT. No other 6115 stations are
known now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6930.923 AM, Jan 9 at 0234, JBA carrier S5-S6 into
Maryland SDR: no such pirate reported to HFU. K index at 00 was 5,
after G1 storm levels; down to 3 by 03 UT (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 4925-, Jan 8 at 0230, JBA talk, S8/9 with some flutter,
presumed the only station known on 4925, R. Educação Rural, Tefé,
Amazonas, known to be active but seldom heard here. Slightly low in
frequency compared to WWV 5000.00000. WRTH & Aoki claim until 0200*,
but EiBi to 0300* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 1610 kHz, UT Sat Jan 8 at 0253, CHHA Toronto is in Tagalog
about Philippine elexion, some English words mixed in, then New Year
song in English, or rather recitation with music background. Year-old

http://chha1610am.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Parrilla-CHHA-ENE-2021.jpg
does show a Tagalog hour at 02-03 UT Tue-Sat. Website goes mainly by
call letters, but also Radio Voces Latinas. Some time ago I heard a
slogan ``La Voz de la Comunidad`` and this was spread widely as a
change from ``R-V-L-``, without any credit to me. On air I am not at
all sure there has been a formal change from one to the other. Perhaps
the `new` slogan should be lower-case. Note: Tagalog, as well as
Punjabi, English, also on sked are not Latinas! While Italian,
Portuguese, Spanish, do qualify (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6000, Jan 8 at 0240, RHC English is S9+20/30 but
undermodulated with whine; while // 9700 only S8/9 but better
modulation. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

on I-90, and about 99 miles due south of Whitefish, which is just
north of Kalispell. Jim Bohannon is just wrapping up on KRVN Lexington
NE, which is also the dominant signal direct to here. It beams
westward but broadly with 50 kW. I also hear an ``Oilers`` mention, no
doubt Edmonton AB, 50 kW CHQT, supposedly direxional NW except for a
very minor lobe toward KRVN.

At 0701 I resume listening via Huson, and immediately hear Morse VVV.
Got to be KJJR altho calls not copied. KRVN continues to be dominant
signal even in MT, Fox ``news``. KJJR is so weak under it that hard to
believe it`s really running 10 kW ND day power, but of course it is
mountainous in between. 0705 some C&W music but could be a third
station. Phone-off-hook pulses, sweeps upward as KRVN is starting `Our
American Stories`.

At 0710-0715 I monitor direct into my E/W longwire and R75, and do
hear high-pitched continuous tones at 0710 & 0711; sweeps upward at
0712. So I know I *have* DXed this direct. Recording inconvenient so I
will not qualify for QSL or even report to station/CPC.

0715-0718 I switch to my DX-398 with internal antenna on altazimuth
wrist mount, but nothing from KJJR even with KRVN nulled as much as
possible; but the two are too close to the same direxion.

0718.5-0720 trying R75 again, nothing but KRVN.

0724 back to Huson where I can make out sweeps, 0726 VVV and now a
string of maybe 5 KJJR IDs in Morse; 0729 touch-tone phone tones; slow
VVV, and then solid tone. I would have preferred more time devoted to
KJJR IDs than all those other sounds. Anyhow, tnx for the test. I
gather it was widely heard from Norway to Florida to Massachusetts

Hauser
** SPAIN. 9690, Fri Jan 7 at 2300, checking various remotes for token
English from REE: JBA at Noale, Italy. No signal to Virginia but S6 to
S9+5 to Maryland! 11940 to SAm is S6-S8 into Sao Paulo. But I`m mainly
listening to contemporaneous Turkey, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960, Jan 7 from 2300, VOT English is on; at
UTwente it`s S9+25/35 but with annoying squeal. Autonotch does not rid
it, but narrowing synch bandwidth to less than 2.7 kHz disposes of it.
2320, the strange feature ``Feeling Supreme`` with hard-to-understand
YL talking about smearing honey on lips 3 times a day, or the peeling
of something, but why? By now there is CCCCCCI from East Turkistan,
standard remark, but VOT well atop (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2120 monitoring: confirmed UT
Friday January 7 at 0330 on WRMI 5985, S7-S9 into Knoxville SDR, with
some jamming bleed from 5980, and storm crashes altho there are none
nearer than the Gulf of Mexico and out toward Bermuda.

Also confirmed Friday January 7 at 1530 on WRMI 9955, S9/+10, no
jamming audible and not cut off before 1559.

Also confirmed Friday January 7 at 1915 on IRRS SW via Bulgaria 7290,
S9+30 into UTwente. Monitored from 1859 when carrier on air but as
usual, modulation not cut on until almost 1901, missing Aïda and IRRS
sign-on, joining Feature Story News in progress; 1905 IRRS ID,
address, News from UN. Briefly tuned UTwente to 14580 for second
harmonic, not heard but some JBA tones. Also monitoring AM Italia 918
kHz, Villa Estense via nearby Noale SDR, which is // 7290 and almost
in synch, But at 1910 I`m called to lunch so roll tape to check later.
After UN News, music fill, and on 7290 WOR from 1915, but the music
keeps playing on 918! Recheck at 1934 now WOR is on 918 too after a
late join, vs Spanish QRM from Madrid.

The 2130 replay on 918 only is running at 2135, S9+5 but as usual
transmitter dumps off the air at 2157, 2 minutes before I am finished!
Uncovers La Inter, Madrid. I`ve asked IRRS to realign.

Just before this at 2153, I tuned Noale to 207 kHz, the AM Italia new
longwave transmitter, JBA but could recognize my voice for the first
time definitely on LW. Not on 1323 which is planned? to replace 918.

WOR 2120 also confirmed UT Saturday January 8 at 0230 on WRMI 9395: VP

** U S A. 3215 before 0200, then 3360 UT Sun & Mon, we may not be
hearing WWRB any more. Check this weekend. A sesquihour before AAAWWW
this week, Allan Weiner e-mailed me: ``Hi Glenn, I heard about Dave
Frantz. Is there any more info on what happened? This is very sad
indeed. I was speaking with Dave back in November and he seemed fine.
Any info would be appreciated. Be well and HNY, Allan & Angela, WBCQ
Radio``

I replied that this was the first I had heard about it. Well, the
WWRB.org website is gone, per Hitlist linx. Did anyone hear it last
weekend, 3215/3360? So I inquired of the WOR iog. Replies:

Kim Elliott: ``The radio preacher who calls in to WBCQ 7490 Saturday
0000 UTC just said that Dennis [sic] Frantz died. His show will be off
WWRB for the time being.``

Larry Will: http://www.allwillstand.org/index.php/schedule/ ``says
"On January 2nd, 2022, I received a phone call from David Franz’s son
that he had went home to be with the Lord." Lw``

I look for obits in area newspapers/legacy.com but don`t find any.
General search on Dave Frantz led to age: 41. I thought he would be
older by now, and not sure if that info be current.

FCC search about WWRB, finds a CP for *something* was accepted for
filing July 19, 2021, and would expire 3 years later, July 19, 2024. I
have not been able to pull out what this was about. Street address is:

** U S A. (6160-), UT Sat Jan 8 at 0100 I`m monitoring the Area 61
webcast for WBCQ `AAAWWW`: usual banter opening, says electricity
rates have just gone up 20%, but airtime rates have not even been
upped for inflation, since no one could afford them. Rates run from
$ 35 to $ 50 per hour, depending, rather than $ 200.

Bad News: According to Pastor Ken, Dave Frantz of WWRB has passed
away, stroke? Allan had spoken with him as recently as November and
many times before about engineering matters. There may be no one but
him who could operate WWRB on SW, but his son could handle internet
streaming. See my separate report about this.

TOM has made some cuts, so no longer on 4790; in fact, it`s been
turned off temporarily, for no particular reason. But planned for
February are tests of some *good* programming on 4790, two hours per
night but apparently varying and not specified, supplied by Uncle Bill
Tilford, to assess reception, for regular service in March. A&A are
covering electrical costs for this.

0124, date stamp as 7th of January, YOOLF 2022. 9330 SuperStition was
off for a sesquiday, now back. It`s a very complex transmitter.
Problem was a little card preventing the 14 kv power supply to
funxion. Three engineers Jeff, Tom and Lance fixed it with help from
Continental.

0130, Angela has been taking riding lessons -- at first I thought he
said ``writing``! At 0133 I check Maryland SDR and get no signals on
4790, 6160, trace on 7490 but 9330 with WLCR is S6-S8. Propagation is
degraded and/or MD is too close. By 0145 I check Missouri SDR where
7490 is S4 = noise level, 6160 better at S7-S9. At 0145 reads some
items from new Free Radio Weekly including Angela`s favorite, Ball
Smacker Radio.

News that new FCC chairwoman nixes suggestion that FCC should
censor/ban rightwing networx Fox, NewsMax and group Sinclair. Yay for
Free Speech. Allan again claims that unlike USA, Angela`s Canada with
no First Amendment, does not allow private SW stations! WRONG!! He
overlooks CFRX, CFVP, and there were several others which quit
voluntarily.

0159 prayer, a minute of dead air still on the A61 webcast, then music
and ``You are listening to your favorite station, WICT Pittsburgh``,
not Hal Turner tho supposedly on 6160 & 7490 not rechecked. John
Carver`s reception was degraded:

``Tonight's show started on time on 6160 and 7490 with no signal on
4790 and an impossible to copy signal on 7490. Allan and Angela in the
studio opening with New Years Greetings to all of us. Allan and Angela
were out in last week`s time slot dining and dancing to welcome in the
New Year. Allan wants to start with Angela's Angle and I lose the
signal at 0107. Will continue to monitor the noise and see if it comes
back. Signal pops up at 0115 and Allan is announcing the death of Dave
Frantz of WWRB. Very rough copy. Allan states at 0121 that the Brother
Stair organization wants to cut back a bit and asked to stop the 4790
broadcast which Allan said they did as of January 1. Then he announces
what will be taking it's place and I can't copy it.
I apologize for this poor report but I can only report on what I can
copy. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6114, RTTY, re TDOA map linked in previous report, it
apparently expired. If you can get into the UDXF iog, the link worx
from https://groups.io/g/UDXF/message/102652
That`s to the west side of Italy; also two maps by mco leading to
Azores area in a subsequent post (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
