Hauser
** CANADA. 335-MCW kHz, Aug 17 at 0624 UT, ND beacon YLD is JBA, 1000
watts from Chapleau ON. Only other ones making it lately but not
specifically logged at this time: 332 QT Thunder Bay, and 382 YPL
Pickle Lake, both ONs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KASHMIR [non]. 15170, Aug 17 at 1515, another Tuesday-only
broadcast of IRRS with Kashmir Civitas; via UTwente, S9+25, cuts off
air for few seconds just as I tune in and back on. This week it keeps
going in presumed Urdu talk with understrumming, no early cut to
extraneous songs in English. Still talking when modulation cut at
1529, replaced by ROMANIA interval signal twice until carrier off at
1529.5*. It also sounded like a power reduxion and increase in noise
level before RRI IS started, but was not watching strength meter
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Aug 17 at 0625, JBA carrier the only one on
9-kHz intervals. A bit stronger than last time, but I never get any
audio from presumed R. Kiribati; Xmas island so far eastward from the
rest of the far-flung island nation that it`s already long post-sunset
0438 UT, at Kiritimati UT +14,
https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/kiribati/kiritimati
similar to Hawaii to the north at UT -10 = really the same zone except
for 24 hours apart (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN [and non]. 15520, Aug 17 at 2257, S5-S6 of dead air no doubt
from REE into Maryland SDR, yet another day of RNE failing to
modulate, presumably for several hours, while the other three
frequencies are to be heard, 17855, 11940 and 11670. 15520 continues
dead past 2301 until cutoff at 2306* -- probably the normal weekday
time following a few minutes of earworm IS as on 11670 but unchecked
during this period after noting 2301 that frequency had RHC colliding,
just now on air // 11760, with REE // 11940. By 2306 recheck, only RHC
is left on 11670. Something`s nonsensical at Noblejas: they keep
turning the 15520 transmitter on but do not notice it`s silent (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2099 monitoring: ``From: Richard Lemke, St.
Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio:
JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees. Dear Glenn:
This time I made my loggings that I confirmed hearing World of Radio

** U S A. 1540, Aug 17 at 0632 UT, ``America`s Best Music, AM 1540 and
98-7 FM``. NRC AM Log shows that matches KBOA Kennett MO in the SE
corner bootheel, NOStalgia format, U1, 1000 watts day, ONE WATT night,
yeah, sure. That would be 700 km per watt, or 435 miles per watt.
Briefly atop jumble including talker presumed 50 kW KXEL IA and vs
ever-present het from 1540.2, WKVQ, Eatonton GA daytimer (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1550 kHz, am trying August 17 to confirm KKLE Winfield KS,
which apparently has been off air for almost a year, time to make a
showing or lose license; in light of sibling Rocking M Media station
1130 KLEY Wellington KS, C&W music already back on for several days
and audible even at night despite legal power of ONE WATT.

In fact, per NRC AM Log, KKLE shares exactly the same Wellington
street address as KLEY! Could both also be at same transmitter site?
No, FCC info shows KKLE in fact at Winfield, east of Wellington and
north of Ark. City. KKLE is 250 watts daytime and ND but if on,
nowhere near the 250-watt day signal 1130 puts in here with direxional
disadvantage if really in play, but with lower-frequency groundwave
advantage. 1550 on or off has never been obvious here like 1130.

1550, Aug 17 at 1502 UT on R75 with E/W longwire, I have sports talk
interview, not news, fading with fast SAH, so at least two stations.
On DX-398, DF of most signal from NNE/SSW, i.e. KKLE. At 1700 on ND
caradio, music which among the closest 1550s implies KRZD Springfield
MO, 5 kW ND if it`s still rock as in last year`s NRC AM Log. KMAD
Madill in S OK next to TX also listed as C&W, 250 watts ND, but I
never hear it and not sure it be on air now.

At 1704 UT on NRD-545 with E-W loop, I can hear an ``ESPN Radio``
mention, which points to KYAL Sapulpa OK, 2.5 kW direxional, and the
`dominant` daytime 1550 if you can call it that. Also in the fringe
area is KDCC Dodge City KS, but listed with Fox Sports Radio, 1 kW
direxional. KKLE format was News/Talk, which I am not now hearing on
1550, but I did have a DF of at least a carrier from that angle.

I also monitored 1550 around sunset, 0100+ UT, but too much further
confusion with skywavers also incoming. August SS/SR times for KKLE to
switch between ND 250 and 52 watt powers: 0115/1145; September:
0030/1215 UT. NRC says KKLE also has pre-sunrise authority for 63
watts, i.e. from 1100 UT until times above. But from KLEY 1130
behavior, it`s kleyr that Rocking M stations don`t strictly follow the
rules of federal communications LAW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** AFGHANISTAN. Checking the MW situation, Aug 16 at 1639 via New
Delhi SDR --- the klosest Kiwi only one megameter from Kabul, so 400
kW transmitters at night if non-direxional ought to be pounding in ---
compare to mere 50 kW clear channels e.g. from Chicago or Nashville
out to similar distances in N America. 1107 is chanting, and ``salaam
aleikum``, originally the main R. Afghanistan outlet, but JBA algo on
1296 much weaker, which might no longer be the co-located 400 kW USAGM
transmitter, or underpowered, or Iran or India.

NRC International DX Digest reports: ``As of this writing, reports
indicated that 1107 kHz in Kabul had been taken. "They took control of
the Kabul 1107 kHz main station around 1700 UTC, station ID'ed Emirat
Islamiya Afganistan at 1800, now mostly Qur`an recitation," reported
Jorma Mäntylä in the DXing.info Facebook group, August 15. 1107
transmits from the same site as what was 1296 VOA.`` (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 13020, Aug 16 at 1352, only CNR1 jammer detected in the
12-13s or 10-11s, JBA talk with flutter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN [and non]. 15520, August 16 at 2202, S6-S8 of dead air into
Maryland SDR, while REE English on Monday is underway, mainly an
interview with an accordionist, modulating, not dead air on 11940,
17855 and 11670, from most to least signals. Correlates with the unID
DA I had on 15520, Aug 15 at 0008 long after scheduled sign-off. But
Aug 17 at 0015 check, nothing on 15520 while 17855 & 11940 remain;
11670 by now switched to suptorted RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, Aug 16 at 2202, quick check confirms VOT English is
not AWOL tonight into Maryland SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2099 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
August 15 at 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 918 kHz, VG S9+33 into
nearby Noale SDR; also audible at UTwente S9 but with noise, QRM.

Also confirmed Sun Aug 15 at 2230 on WRMI 9955, VG into Knoxville SDR
despite off the back. (Area 51 webcast no longer WOR at 2200)

Also confirmed UT Mon Aug 16 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG S9+20 direct.

Also confirmed UT Mon Aug 16 after 0130 on WRN webcast to N America.

Also confirmed UT Mon Aug 16 at 0230 on WRMI 5800, S9+25 and 7780
S9+15 both via Missouri remote.

Also confirmed UT Mon Aug 16 from 0304.7 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6159.902,
S7-S8 to Missouri remote but with 6165 Cuba ACI. Previous music show
ran over 0300, no ID but ``and now the last word`` and into WOR
playback. Looking at current skeds, 6150 or 6145 would be better for
everything on WBCQ than 6160v, less ACI or CCI especially at night in
NAm. Next, nothing more on Monday or Tuesday, but:

1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

UNIDENTIFIED. 4975, Aug 16 at 0615, this pervasive JBA carrier is now
strong enough to detect some modulation --- music and talk same as on
4980 with TOMBS! Unseems overload/crossmod as still there with preamps
turned off. Could it just be a spur out of WRMI 4980 transmitter? With
TOMBS so pervasive not only on WRMIs, perhaps the only way to be sure
is to detect whether it come and go at same time as 4980, *0000-1100*.
But on Aug 17 not checked until 0033, when again TOMBS audio is JBA on
4975 like inbooming on 4980; now via Knoxville SDR. Of course this
contradicts previous report of `A Voz do Brasil` programming after 22
UT; maybe two different 4975 signals? There is also a JBA carrier on
4985, a match? or RBC Brasil (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** AFGHANISTAN [and non]. UT Sat Aug 14 at 2028, Jose Jacob of DX
India asked me, ``Afghanistan not heard on 1107 kHz?`` I reply:

``Hi Jose, You are asking me? I have no reports yet one way or
another. You should be in a better position to hear it, but we can
start checking remotes for this and others? Majors on 1296, 621 kHz of
course. In WRTH I see a few others altho mostly FM: 1305 Kandahar, 945
Sharana [much lower powered] are the only ones I see in a quick scan
of page 66. However, if on the air, it may be hard for us to tell
which side control them. WRTH shows sked of RTA on 400 kW 1107 near
Kabul is 0030-1930 UT. The closest Kiwis are New Delhi and Kuwait. No
signal when I check Delhi now at 2240 UT. Kabul sunrise/sunset times
currently 0044/1411 UT. 73, Glenn`` --- Mauno Ritola, Finland reply at
2247:

``All 1296, 1107 and 621 kHz were heard tonight. Please check via
Karelia MW DX after 0030, I'll leave the best antenna for that
direction on: http://185.89.55.189:8073/ 73, Mauno`` -- I reply:

``Spanish dominates 1107 on Mauno`s, RNE5 synchos plus couple others.
More different Spanish on 1296 and 621. New Delhi has horrible noise
level but Qur`an audible under it at 0031-0034+. 1296 JBA talk; 621
greater noise only. Surely the Taliban will broadcast Qur`an, but
presumably the doomed corrupt government has been doing so too,
violating Separation of Mosque and State``.

As Kabul is in process of falling, remotes checked again from 1455 UT
Aug 15, which is prime evening time in Afgh. Via New Delhi, 1107 is on
at S9+20, but with fadeouts, mostly talk. But a bit of music at 1458,
so must not be Taliban-controlled just yet. 1530 UT = top of hour
20:00 local, finally hear a woman`s voice with music, so must not be
Talibanic yet. Some slight QRM: beware, in the region are also a 50 kW
in Iran, a 20 kW in India, and of course some Chinese.

1296 kHz, the 400 kW USAGM transmitter at same site as 1107 near
Kabul, of Pol-e-Charkhi for R. Azadi and VOA Ashna Radio, is also on
air at 1455 with brief English clips being translated.

Mauno Ritola, Finland, reported at 0858 Aug 15: ``1106.98 kHz started
at some time before 0030 and at 0029 I hear a tentative Anthem on my
recording. 1296 kHz may have started a bit late and 621 kHz starts at
0100, already in daylight. They will be easier to check in the
evening: 1296 -1730*, 1107 -1930* and 621 -1901*``

At 1538 I am not hearing anything on 1107 or 1296 via Mauno`s Karelia
SDR: maybe still too early before full darkness.

The only SW frequency of R. Afghanistan, 6100, has long been inactive,
but worth eventual checking (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 11510-11550 approx., Aug 15 at 0015, extremely distorted
spurblob of music, as I`m all set to pin it on RHC. But then I can
recognize talk in Brazuguese intonation, and in fact the modulation
matches 11780 even with an ID for RNA at 0017 and for many other Rs.
Nacionais, mostly on FM. Centered about 11530, i.e. 250 kHz below the
fundamental. Not the first time 11780 has put out such spurs.
Registers only S2-S4 but sounds much louder. How about plus 250? Yes,
similar but weaker wideband noise centered about 12030. In fact for
some weeks I have been bothered by the upper, but suspected it could
be something local. Now it also matches 11780, which itself is S9/+20
with hum and suptorted (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 17530, Aug 15 at 0010, RHC S8/S9+25 but suptorted in French,
not // 5040 in Kriyol. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13710-13760 very approx., Aug 15 at 0012, splash range of RHC
13740, which itself is S9+35 and overmodulated/distorted. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11670, Aug 15 at 0014, RHC at S9+5 with humbuzz. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GERMANY. 9670, Aug 15 at 0002, pop music at S2-S4, presumably
Channel 292 again, testing thisaway? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** INDIA. At 0135 UT Sunday Aug 15, NOW, I remind the WOR iog of a
post 3 days ago from DX India:

``15th August 2021 (Sunday) 0135-0240 UTC (0705-0810 hrs IST)
All India Radio will live broadcast the running commentary in English
and Hindi on the Flag Hoisting and Prime Minister's address to the
nation to be held at Red Fort, New Delhi between 0135-0240 UTC
(0705-0810 hrs IST) on 15th August, 2021 on the following SW
frequencies.

English:
13710 Bengaluru 500 kW

Hindi:
9950 New Delhi 100 kW
11560 New Delhi 100 kW``

I`m hearing it well at S9+20/40 on 13710 via a non-India remote, but
with a bit of squeal. The W&M hosts in English also mention a live
video streaming URL once, I could not copy but find this one:
https://prasarbharati.gov.in/live-tv/

They were gushing about the magnificent ceremony, but even on the
`English` SW channel, the PM`s speech in Hindi from 0200 is *not*
being translated, nor on the TV feed. Audience members are starting to
fidget, as the morning heats up, trying to shade their heads. SW
coverage of the ceremony is supposed to finish at 0240 UT, but Modi
keeps going on and on and on well past 0300. I bet he`s pushing
Hindutva. Here`s just one article about that:

``How Modi Is Using Hinduism to Turn India Into an Autocracy
Modi’s Slide Toward Autocracy --- Using Hindutva ideology, India’s
leader is restyling the country as one with only the trappings of
democracy.
By Azeem Ibrahim
July 13, 2020, 12:11 PM

When Narendra Modi was elected prime minister in 2014, India reached a
crucial milestone for a postcolonial democracy: Modi became the first
leader since independence to command a lower house parliamentary
majority that did not belong to the Congress party of India’s founders
Mohandas Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. After 65 years, a dynastic
founding party was subsumed by new blood. But in the six years since
Modi won his first election, it has become clear that his style of
leadership poses an existential threat to the world’s largest
democracy. Through his wildly successful promotion of Hindutva
ideology, Modi is poised to remake India into a Russian-style “managed
democracy” — one retaining all the trappings of democracy while
operating as a de facto autocracy...``

https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/07/13/modi-india-hindutva-hindu-nationalism-autocracy/

13710 cuts off the air at 0319.5* while Modi is still orating, but
back on 3 minutes later. Modi finally finishes at 0331 after a solid
sesquihour! Then he walks thru the rank and file of the outspread
audience, all of whom stay seated and appear to be masked. Even after
finishing speaking, Modi is *never* masked, what a fine example! What
a strong, fearless man! BTW, India, tnx a lot for the Delta Variant!

The TV coverage at least finally seems to finish about 0340 as the SW
SDR has used up the 120 minutes it allowed me with reloads every 30
minutes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI [and non]. 846 kHz, Aug 15 at 0616, JBA carrier. At this
hour seems can only be R. Kiribati, after sunset there; a sign of fall
conditions oncoming.

Only others on 9-kHz-step bandscan are two JBA carriers SAHing on 837,
however, likely remnants of Canary Islands/Spain (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 1210, Aug 15 at 0609 UT, dead air from
strongest signal, presumed KGYN; understation with C2CAM // but a few
seconds behind 1170 KFAQ, presumed WPHT Philadelphia (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U K. 9575, Aug 15 at 0000, open carrier goes to timesignal, preview
and 0001 BBC WS news with Sue Montgomery. Fair but could be so much
better if beamed our way. A mid-season change, per HFCC started 9
July, 250 kW, 78 degrees from Woofferton for one hour only (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [non]. 17560, Aug 15 at 0007, OSOB is a JBA carrier, could be
East Turkistan, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide? Maybe a jammer,
but HFCC shows USAGM in Chinese Mandarin, this hour only, 250 kW, 349
degrees from Tinang, PHILIPPINES (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2099 monitoring: confirmed on
WA0RCR, 1860 AM, Wentzville MO, at approx. 2013-2042 Sat Aug 14, as I
recorded KB0FX SDR for later checking. Really late today after nominal
1930.

Also confirmed UT Sunday 0030 on WRMI 5950, S9+32 into Knoxville SDR;
yes, #2099 as I am uploading new WORs now to System L.

Also confirmed UT Sunday from 0431 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, via nearby
SDR but with some storm crashes. Much later than nominal 0315, 75
minutes late while only 43 minutes late in the afternoon. Next:

WRMI-5 is still off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (5085), UT Sun Aug 15 at 0039, WTWW-2 $ tereo webcast of
`Theater Organ Under The Arch`, playing ``Georgy Girl`` as this week`s
theme is ``things from girls``, including a thorganist who is blind
but that doesn`t stop her from handling all the keyboards, stops and
pedals. Ends at 0057; I missed the first part tracking Afghanistan and
me (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9475, Aug 15 at 1439, algo JBA, WTWW-1 not on this Sunday,
compared to S9+10 from neighbor 9980 WWCR. Rather National Unity Radio
via TAIWAN for Korea until 1458. But 1545 recheck now WTWW-1 is on
with PPPP; registered so could have started as early as 1400 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130, Aug 14 at 2351 check, KLEY Wellington KS is still
reactivated, rock music (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1329.1 kHz approx., JBA carrier/het against 1330s, Aug
15 at 0611. Nothing more than minus 17 Hz in mwoffsets (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 15520, Aug 15 at 0008, S1-S4 open carrier; hardly any
19m signals besides Cuba. Nothing listed here; maybe SPAIN forgot to
turn this off at 2200* weekends, 2300* weekdays? No signals on other
REE frequencies now, nor should there be (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Hauser
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Sat Aug 14 at 1422, 1453, no signal
from LRA36 into Brasil or Uruguay SDRs. Then we see this at 1327 to
the WOR iog: ``Manuel Méndez --- Hi Glenn, the LRA 36 staff has
posted, an hour ago, a new jpg whatsapp note announcing there will not
be program today Saturday due to the same reasons as last Wednesday.
Best 73,s`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 4975, Aug 14 at 0547, JBA carrier still detectable at
night, previously traced to Brasil with obligatory government hour, A
Voz do Brasil at 2200; but nothing further heard about it such as an
ID for one of the three ex-4975s known (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 13130, Aug 14 at 1354 CNR1 jammer with Chinese; only othrs
around, JBA carriers on 13160, 12500 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NETHERLANDS [non]. 7780 // 5800, UT Sat Aug 14 at 0200-0259, again
this week via both WRMI frequencies, the Texas Radio SW relay of
Europirate, Free Radio Service Holland. Frenetic DJ during the hour,
recounting history of station with constant music mostly in background
rather than complete tunes; heavily produced IDs, liners. Altho could
hear direct, both frequencies noisy so listening via Maryland remote
to 7780. This week it`s as weak as usual on the NE antenna rather than
seeming NW last week for Cupid Radio.

0207 FRSH ID, MoodyBlues; started Aug 31, 1980 with 10 watts on 6250;
0209 fragments of Deep Purple, Smoke in the Water; 0215 about raids in
1983. 0218 specific ID for this on WRMI 5800 [only: they don`t know
about 7780 either]. Covering 4 decades of history; QSL from
FRS@FRSHolland.nl or a P O Box in Herten; or see website
http://frsholland.nl where 9 different QSLs are available? Many many
are illustrated over the years, apparently including incoming ones
from listeners. 0221 announcement in German, one of FRSH` three
languages. 0228 Chris Watson mentioned; tribute to someone who is
late, Joop? something. 0238 WRMI 5800 ID, contact info again. 0243
says they produce 4 to 6 broadcasts per year. 0259 switch to YROT
theme of TRSW, Zanotti ID.

BTW, I reminded the WOR iog of this FRSH broadcast at 0129, and
during this week`s WOR 2099 which also aired just before it at 0130 on
9395 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2099 monitoring: confirmed UT Sat
Aug 14 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, VG S9+20 to Maryland SDR; S8-S9 direct.

Also confirmed on IRRS Shortwave: Sat Aug 14 on 918 kHz, AM Italia,
via Noale remote, tune-in 1754 is playing AWR Wavescan! But not on
schedule, evidently random filler, Ray Robinson reading story about
K/KOB Albuquerque, 1757 on to ``second story`` about WGN Chicago. WS
should be wrapping up by now if started at 1730; yes, at 1758 chopped
off incomplete for cut to Triumphal March from Aïda theme. I`m
simulmonitoring 7290 via UTwente, first weak Chinese and warble on the
USB, until strong signal cuts on a minute after 918, with the rest of
Aïda; both with brief sign-on about 4 seconds apart like WOR which
starts about 1800.7 --- monitored complete on both until 1829.7;
unlike last week when 7290 did not come on until about halfway over.

** U S A. 7730, Aug 14 at 0542, another WRMI missing, #13 which is
scheduled for 0000-1100, all Overkiller except two System D hours at
00 and 08. Also still gone, #5 from 9455 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1090, Aug 14 at 0555 UT, big dead air which must be the
dominant KAAY AR, so I turn up volume to DX any understations: mainly
sports talk, Dan Patrick show; 0600 partial ID as 107.7, and HD2,
sounds like WACE? 0606 still DA with medium SAH vs sports talk.
Uplooked later in the 2020 NRC AM Log, the 1090 sportster with a 107.7
FM is 5000-watt ND *daytimer* WAQE, Rice Lake, Wisconsin. It`s on the
Fox SR network and so is Dan Patrick (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130, Aug 14, 2021 at 0600 UT, KWKH sports talk has musiQRM
atop, not Spanish as I was hoping to ID that previous mystery. Then ID
for ``KLEY 1130 and 100.3 FM Wellington``. This KS station has been
silent for months but now it`s back; also VG S9+20 alone at 1352 with
``I Love Rock `n` Roll`` and at 1750 talk.

It`s 250 watt day, ONE WATT at night, yeah, sure, U4, which means
different direxional patterns day and night. On daytime groundwave it
was and is again a semi-local at 63 miles from the site S of
Wellington we have often passed on US 81. I had last barely detected
it, 1 watt? Aug 23, 2020 at 2132 UT. Obviously it`s on today to avoid
losing license and likely to go silent again ASAP. From this far I
can`t tell whether the 100.3 translator, K262CQ, has always stayed
operational. Part of the corporate mess at Rocking M Media. Obviously
there is no technical reason not to stay on AM air.

On Dec 5, 2020 I had reported:
1130 KLEY Wellington KS remains off, forever?
Correspondence that if not back on, license will expire Aug 21, 2021:

http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/getimportletter_exh.cgi?import_letter_id=96705

BTW, the only KLEY in radio-locator.com is an unrelated? FM in
Jourdanton TX, ``La Ley 95.7``. Unless you specify ``KLEY-AM`` even
tho ``-AM`` is not part of the true call of any AM station! Marked as
off the air and no link to coverage patterns. How about FCC AM Query?
https://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/amq?list=0&facid=31895

It is *not* flagged as off the air. Here is the 250-watt day pattern,
broadly direxional peaking NNW, and not much here to the SSW:

What a joke, 1 watt at night, also direxional? Looks same, smaller:
