Hauser
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Sept 11 at 1500 and later chex, LRA36
misses another Saturday broadcast, no signal into Brasil SDR (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 25775, Sept 11 at 1546, no signal from RFI Swahili into
Kuwait or RSA SDRs, but RSA still gets S5-S6 on 21690 until 1559*.

I also check both for WMR Denmark on 25795, 25800, 25805, but zilch
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 12000, Sept 11 at 0618, RHC English is S8-S9, easy copy in
routine bandscan, which means fundamental 6000 is running past usual
0600v*; yes, it`s S9+20/30 there. Midnight MUF from Cuba is hot
tonight; but no sign of harmonix on 12120=RTTY, 12200 or 12330. At
0631 check, 6100 is off but 6060 still on at S9+10/20 with horrible
intermittent humbuzz; 6165 S9+30 with lite hum and distortion.
Something`s always wrong at RHC.

11930 & 11860, Sept 11 at 0621, residual pulse jamming against nothing
are also propagating in the nightmiddle. SAWA.

11462, Sept 11 at 0623, also has S9+20 of dead air, no doubt Spy
Numbers transmitter at one of same sites as RHC & its harmonix, but
per EiBi sked 0454-0550 & 0854-0950 only on days 246 = UT Tue/Thu/Sat.
SAWA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. As in last report, Mix Radio International planned
to be back with a new classical music broadcast on Friday or Saturday
evening. That`s confirmed on the WOR iog at 0125 UT Sat Sept 11:

``[WOR] Mix Radio International 6.880 MHz USB is quite loud in central
NC tonight with relaxing classical music (55545 with a small amount of
QSB). Doug, KA5ETS`` White.

6880-USB, I tune in at 0200, S9/+10 into Maryland SDR, while mainly
audioviewing Fahrenheit 9/11 on Youtube as provided by Michael Moore.
This time there are too-frequent ID breaks and requests for reports of
Mix Radio International WorldWide, by YL robovoice, so the music is
only in snippets despite the well-developed attention spans of
classical fans. Great for DX IDing, however, as some pirates
never/hardly ever ID. I note all these breaks but may have missed a
few more: 0219, 0223, 0227, 0230, 0235, 0242, 0248, 0257, 0308, 0311,
0318, 0320, 0334, 0341, 0345, 0351, 0353, 0400 until 0401* by when it
has faded to S5/S6. A few of the musix noted: Water Music, William
Tell Overture, Also Sprach Zarathustra (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 11840, Sat Sept 11 at 1534, Station YHWH is on at S9
direct, usual earnest anti-Christ assertions. This time I beat Rick
Barton, AZ in notifying the WOR iog by only one minute, but he was not
hearing Josiah Elias until 1540 tune-in (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 13660, Sept 11 at 1529, RRI IS, 1530 opening Arabic as
scheduled this hour. Wasn`t sure of language at first,
Romanian-accented? Our SWBC bands will be even more vacant once RRI
give up (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE [and non]. Correxion: my chex for RFI on 11m band during the
15-16 UT hour in Swahili, 25800, should have been on 25775 as
registered in latest HFCC with 500 kW. I was thinking 25800 for 11m
but that`s the frequency allegedly in use by World Music Radio,
Denmark. It originally planned a frequency right next to RFI, but
escaped to 25800. Axually, HFCC Sept 10 shows it could equally land on
25795, 25800 or 25805, 2 kW due south. Anyhow, we know WMR is
inaudible into South Africa or Kuwait SDRs on 25800, while RFI has
stayed on 21690, presumably alone. But from now on, 25775 is the one
to check. Wolfgang Bueschel confirms that 25775 was not to be heard
Sept 10.

While we`re at it, anything else in HFCC on 11m? Yes, three, all
possibly 24 hours a day but more likely for local groundwave than
trans-oceanic:

26000, 50 kW, 306 degrees from Spaceline, Bulgaria to W Europe. They
register wooden frequencies all over the bands, just in case.

26010, 100 kW ND from Vatican, placeholder in the !IRDR! Disaster
Relief service, which perhaps beyond some tests, AFAIK has never been
activated, as if the world is not experiencing plenty of disasters.
Looks good on paper, tho.

26040, 1 kW ND from Berlin, Germany, probably experimental; only one
specified N = DRM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Fri Sept 10 at 2200, token English first ID in
Spanish as ``Radio Exterior de España``, then ``English language
service``; the other three also on, but all much weaker, 15520, 11940,
11670 direct. First, Justin Coe with a good roundup of news about
Spain. He said something musical would follow, but it starts at 2210
without introduction, sounds like modern classical music for wind and
piano (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, Sept 10 at 2159, VOT is JBA for English to N America
direct, totally blocked on USB by RTTY, but escaping that on LSB
tuning, it`s still unreadable S5-S7 because it`s just barely
modulated. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2103 monitoring: confirmed Friday
September 10 from 2030.6 on IRRS Shortwave via Italia AM, 918 kHz,
Villa Estense, following ID which cut off previous unID talk program,
as usual; VG S9+32 into nearby Noale SDR. Next:

** U S A. (7489.9v), UT Sat Sept 11 at 0000, WBCQ webcast of `AAAWWW`
as I quickly confirm via Maryland SSR that all four are on air: 3265,
4790-, 6160-, 7490-, but still no SuperStition on 9330. From the
outset it`s clear this is going to be another Biden-bash relating to
9/11 anniversary, Afghanistan, and COVID-19; the latter of which
however A&A admit they have got shot.against the ``synthetic virus``.
Yet Angela goes on her anti-vax rants making Allan sound reasonably
moderate. Annoying caller Freddie soon allowed to butt in. 0027
finally date stamp as 10 Sept YOOLF 2021. Then a call from Ryan who
asks what med school Allan went to? Did not, but as he frequently
asserts is ``a man of science``. 0031 says quadri-casting, asks for
emails.

[Allan likes to utter ``kilocycles`` as if it were the same as
``kilohertz``. They are NOT; as a Man of Science, I know that
``kilocycles`` by itself is meaningless, unless it is PER A UNIT OF
TIME, i.e. kilocycles PER SECOND, which is how Kilohertz is defined,
including the ``per second`` without having to specify it, otherwise
``kHz/sec`` would be accelerating.]

Working on SS now. Got replacement tetrode about a week ago. Crate has
10 steel suspension springs, must be worth 5 grand. Tube sits in red
cradle. Going to get some fittings; warm up tube tonight. Filament
struxure is fascinating. Takes 19 v at 1000 amps = 19,000 watts. About
size of a large tomato can; unknown what kind of alloy, whole can
lights up and glows, takes 10-15 minutes to warm that filament up to
avoid short-circuit. Tube is water-cooled. 10 psi, 35-40 gallons per
minute, circulating thru anode sexion. Controls up to a megawatt of
power; losses tho is pretty efficient. At average modulation, draws
950 kW off powerline.

``FCC and other idiots out there will see their day in court.`` Etc.,
etc. 0054 checking email: Cosmikdebris from beach in DE reception
report; tomorrow evening, their `Lumpy Gravy` thousandth episode 8 PM
ET on 6160- live from DE. Four minutes ahead of time, someone
complains that stream drops out at 53rd minute of each hour --- NOT
for me tonight! SS hopefully back on air by Monday. 0059 prayer.

John Carver`s version: ``Tonight's show started on time on 4790, 6160
and 7490. Allan and Angela in the studio. Opening talk about 9/11 and
the anniversary tomorrow. Phone call at 0009 from Freddie. Quickly
turns into some Biden bashing and Covid talk. Results in an argument
between Allan and Angela. Another phone call at 0028 asking Allan
where he studied for his medical degree. Then some talk about the
ongoing work being done to get the superstation going again. Talk
about how much power needed to heat the tube and how much water must
be pumped to keep it cool. Also a passing reference to a a veiled
threat to take the FCC to court over the WHRI sale. Long conversation
between Allan and Angela where Allan spends most of his time trying to
calm Angela down and rein her in. Reading of emails at 0054. Closing
prayer at 0059. Allan also mentioned that the superstation might be up
and running again as early as Monday. Program was off the air at 0100.
John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130 kHz, Sept 10 at 2158 and still 2214 UT, KLEY Wellington
KS in dead air at S7, 250 watt day power; looks like it`s on the way
out again. Had been on consistently since discovered Aug 14 in the
middle of the night at 0600 UT despite licensed night power of ONE
WATT, after having been gone for almost a year, i.e. just in time a
week before its license would have expired August 21 without any
activity. Now they can take another 11 months off? Why bother.
Cynically their return included illegal day power consistently at
night, music often audible vs KWKH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 6030, Sept 10 at 0707, traces of comedic CFVP
Calgary but now Cuban jamming dominates and also strings of beeps,
like 16 in a row, then pause, as sometimes also infect jammed
frequencies (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. MRI writes me early UT Sept 9:

``Hello Glenn. I am working on another classical show. I may load it
into radio broadcast software I am testing. If the propagation is good
and band noise is low maybe this Thursday or Friday or Saturday
evening around 2200 UTC. I will try to use the 43M band. You can
publicize it. Thank you for posting your QSL on WOR.

By the way if you listen on a Kiwi SDR move the left slider little
below into LSB. This will pick up my bass audio. Move the right slider
out to 6K for the highs. You can also use IQ mode and open the right
slider all the way to 6 Kc. I mostly use IQ mode on kiwi. My audio
response is from 10 Hz up to (12.5 Kc SSB sometimes).

This is a air check of MRI done by a listener with a SDR opened up to
our full bandwidth. He is just a little off frequency otherwise a
great recording.

Busy producing WOR Thu Sept 9 at 2200, couldn`t check but no reports
of it yet in HFU. Time later in evening would be better like before
until 0340* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 1170, Sept 10 at 0656 UT, ``The New Blitz`` in stupid
sportstalk, and the call letters no longer sound like KFAQ; 0659 has a
fast SAH vs algo, and BTW, Tulsa station is still very much IBOC
ruining KSL 1160 from 1157 and whatever on 1180 from 1183. Does KSL
still return the disfavor on 1173? Too comparably weak to be sure.

Then ID as ``The Blitz, KTSB``. So as suspected, not only format flip
by same owners as KWTV & KOTV, but also new calls, goodbye to KFAQ.
FCC AM Query can no longer find any KFAQ, since KTSB replaced it as of
Sept 6; KFAQ replaced original KVOO on May 10, 2002, ``Voice of
Okahoma``. Original license, as KVOO? started July 19, 1926. Later
lent its letters too the original channel A2, KVOO-TV, later the ugly
call KJRH. I wonder what KTSB signify? The Sports Blitz? They could
have made it KBTZ or KBLZ, neither of which is applicable to any
existing AM station (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO monitoring: Richard Lemke, Alberta,
reports: ``breaking news, new air time 0030 UTC, Dear Glenn: Just ran
across your show on 9395 kHz, with good signals at 0030 - 0100 just
before Argentina to the world begins, Sep 9 UTC, 2021 Richard 73’s``

Then I check the WRMI program skedgrid and find not only that but some
other additions:

UT Friday 0330 on 5985* - first time on this frequency, to South
UT Sunday 0030 on 7730 to WNW [in addition to same UT Monday]
UT Monday 0030 not only 7730 but also 9395 NNW, 9455 WNW
UT Thursday 0030 not only 9395 but also 9455

WOR 2102 confirmed UT Thu Sept 9 at 0130 on WRMI 5010, as usual VP
direct as it`s aimed south, reads S9 but high noise level.

WORLD OF RADIO 2103 contents: Afghanistan non, Antarctica, (Armenia),
Australia, Brasil, Canada, China/East Turkistan, Eritrea/Ethiopia,
France, (Germany), Guinea, Japan and non, Korea North and non/Korea
South, Macedonia North, Mauritius, North America, Portugal, (Taiwan),
UK, USA, (Uzbekistan); Beacon of Hate; Havana Syndrome; propagation
outlook (countries mentioned with others not in alfabetical order)

Confirmed first broadcasts UT Friday September 10 at 0130 on WRMIs:
5850 VG direct S9+20/30; 7780 S9+10 but sounds much weaker and had
started fading down just before WOR.

*New airing UT Fri 0330 on 5985: NOT confirmed Sept 10; instead,
Wavescan is running! I`ve asked Jeff whether WOR will start next week,
and to confirm or deconfirm the other new airings as above which I
also cited opening WOR 2103.

From 0328, 5985 ran IS & ID loop, BBB convinced that programming will
start at ``top of the hour``!! Except when it`s the BoH, S9/+10 VG
into Bonaire SDR but needs narrowing or uppering to avoid Cuban
jamming from 5980. Note: 5985 frequency is WRMI-14 on 181 degree
antenna, same as 5010 at 2100-0300. WRMI-2 is also on 5985 zero hours
per day at 222 degrees to Central America.

WOR 2103 is available as of 0013 UT Friday September 10, 2021

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Sept 8 at 1506 and still just in case
at 1750, NO signal from LRA36 into Brasil SDR for its main broadcast
on Wednesday, tho it had resumed after a month on Sat Sept 4, which is
announced as a repeat of Wednesdays (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 6030, Sept 8 at 0625, comedy from CFVP again audible vs
remnant Cuban pulse jamming. Now being reported elsewhere deep into
America; Ron Howard has been hearing it well on the California beach
haven (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 10960, Sept 8 at 1335, CNR1 jammer weak with music; only
other WOOB ones are 12820 and 13130, also JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 9770, Sept 8 at 1645, nice low-key strumming
Chinese music with occasional brief announcements until 1657*. Listed
as CRI Hakka hour via Urumqi, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide
against Uyghurs and other Moslems. Via Alberta SDR, I was seeking YHWH
on 9775 which Rick Barton had just reported from AZ, but gone already
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 21690, Sept 8 at 1515, RFI Swahili hour S9-S6 into RSA SDR,
still no move to 25800 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** HAWAII. 6501-USB, Sept 8 at 0628, robo marine weather, distorted
modulation any ham would be ashamed of, but not the USCG. EiBi shows
6501 is shared among NMN Chesapeake, NMO Honolulu, NRV Guam, NOJ
Alaska; not to mention XSL China. Some of the times allegedly overlap,
at this hour could only be NMO from 0600, with NMN until 0615. I would
have guessed NMN anyway, but some of the ocean areas cited between 137
and 162 west, so Hawaii (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Sept 8 at 0608, only 9-kHz carrier is here,
presumed R. Kiribati, while previous nights there would be a few
remnants from western Eurafrica: very-low latitude path funxions while
higher ones from the east do not: due to K-index of 4 at 0300? But
down to 2 by 0600, no storms, says WWV (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 267-MCW kHz, Sept 8 at 0615 UT, NDB HET which is 25 watts
from HenryEtTa; I was tuned to 265-USB. Notably the only one in N
America on 267 per dxinfocentre.com. Not often audible day or night
and wonder if only sporadically active. City-to-city distance 202 km =
126 miles. Is due south of western Tulsa (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 1170, Sept 8 at 0606 UT, KFAQ Tulsa with sports talk
about some team named ``Cowboys``; instead of C2CAM, so transition to
Blitz must be complete (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** U S A. 395-MCW kHz, Sept 8 at 1831 UT the two KS NDBs, ULS ULysseS
and CA Newton / Harvs, mixing together at the limits of 25-watt
groundwave? 336 km = 208 stmi from ULS. Must be a greater collision
midway between them, while I am transborder south of one, southeast of
the other, via N/S wire. Periods differ slightly per classaxe.com,
6.28 vs 7.41 seconds, so eventually they alternate. At night often
only one or the other can be heard.

407-MCW kHz, Sept 8 at 1832 UT, NDB HRU, which is 25 watts from
Herington KS. I hear it best day or night on 405-USB, and relog it now
for the record (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2102 monitoring: zzz, unchecked Wed Sept 8,
1030 on WRMI 5850; anyone hear it? Especially in PacificAsia. Yes:

to: Glenn Hauser, Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 4840, Sept 8 at 0622, a not infrequent occurrence, WWCR with
S9+30 of dead air instead of TOMBS, tsk2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15610, Sept 8 at 2243, JBA carrier direct. Should only be
WEWN, which English service was off air recently. I try a number of
remotes to confirm it but also JBA carrier everywhere on the 85 degree
azimuth toward Africa: Spain, UTwente, Virginia, even Birmingham which
however admits it`s ailing tho it gets 9955 OK. I wonder how well it
would normally get Vandiver on groundwave. South Africa is too far
into the night for any signal by 2300. So could WEWN be back on but
very reduced power; or is it just propagation. Finally I check Maine
SDR which is hot and it does get an RCatholic discussion at S9! That`s
it at a better skip distance, whatever the real power and azimuth:
1915 km = 1190 miles, close to two megametres (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 13570, Sept 8 at 1402, open carrier with flutter, S5-S6
until 1403*. Aoki and EiBi have CRI until 1300 only; next not until
1600, RFA and jamming. Surely not the still HFCC-registered impossible
alternate to 9330 for WBCQ with WLCR, but anyway not imagined until
1700 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
