** AZORES. 6114, March 3 at 0717, believed to be USN sending RTTY intruding in broadcast band, now S9+10, vs 6115 Japan only S6-S8. Another comment about it from Lou Johnson, who is concerned that it QRM WWCR when on 6115 until 0200:
``6115 Heavy RTTY Interference --- last night (3/1). BUT, prior to that, for the previous 3 days, it was only about 50/50 interference so the programs were intelligible. With the crisis in Ukraine, I don't see it letting up. Lou KF4RCA Atlanta`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9700, March 3 at 0719, RHC is S9+10 and for a change managing to modulate in English; all others are off. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** IRAN [non]. 13600, March 3 at 1504, S5-S8 in Farsi: it`s R. Farda via Lampertheim, GERMANY, 0530-1530 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MALI. 5995, March 3 at 0718, no signal from ORTM; nor on day frequency 9635. 5995 had been a staple after 0600 tho seldom bothered to log (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. March 3 at 1533 UT, Level 1 tropo enhancement shows BAD DTV signals on RF 10, 12, 14, 20, 21, 22, 31, 34, 35, 36 --- and again only one DX signal decoding, RF 28, virtual 44 from KTPX Okmulgee including Newsy on 44-6 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SOLOMON ISLANDS. 5020, March 3 at 0722, JBA carrier maybe trace of music in splash from 5025 CUBA; presumed SIBC, first trace of it here in some weeks. Believe SW had been silent. Equivalent to 5040 JBA carrier presumed Vanuatu. On Jan 31, Bryan Clark reported to WOR iog: ```I have been in dialogue with Martin Hadlow who has been the WRTH collaborator for Solomon Islands. At my request he has been in touch with SIBC and he has just advised: ``Have had a response from the SIBC in Honiara. Their MW transmitter is on and working OK. The problem is with the Japanese manufactured transmitter on shortwave. (I think the one TX runs both 5020 and 9545 frequencies). The SIBC technical team is getting advice from the Japanese manufacturer. The equipment came back on-air briefly a few days ago, but is off again now. They are working as hard as they can to get it fixed.`` Regards, Bryan -- Mangawhai - Northland - New Zealand``` Ron Howard`s last report on this from California: ``Also no signal from SIBC (5020, nor on 9545) on Feb 7, from 0825+ UT. Ron`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TIBET [non]. 12125, March 3 at 1508, S9/S7 unID language, must be Tibetan as scheduled this hour, RFA via TINIAN; and with CCCCCCI underneath from CNR1 jammer (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U K [and non]. 9770, March 3 at 1800, no signal from BBCWS in Russian yet, checked at UTwente, and still not at 1818 when also checked at Tambov, Russia SDR. Ivo Ivanov had reported a new registration in HFCC effective today for 1800-1830, 250 kW at 66 degrees from Woofferton. If and when it appear, will it be jammed? On the WOR iog, Richard Langley, NB, asks, ``How long has it been since BBC last broadcast on SW? Will they get jammed?`` Arthur Pozner, NY, replies: ``The last BBC WS Russian language was in March 2011. I cannot remember if it was ever jammed.`` Michael, 2E0IHW in the UK, says ``Critical though I am of current BBC criteria, we must commend BBC for its shortwave resurrection. It should now be multilingual 24/7. That said, Al Jazeera still provides the most balanced news`` Mark Bailey replies: ``Keep in mind that MW stations around the Ukrainian perimeter could capture the BBC SW broadcasts and then rebroadcast them on MW. This was done for Radio Moscow and Radio Habana Cuba in a few places beamed into the US back in the day. It was weird listening to RM on MW in your car, you betcha! But at such times as these, I don't think it's out of the question to solicit one or more MW stations to help out along these lines`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 2097.3 CW, March 3 at 0726 UT, single-letter beacon A, still JB audible every dekasecond from anywhere but Quartzsite AZ; for the record (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 13565 CW, March 3 at 1503, HIFER beacon K6FRC audible vs CODAR with continuous IDs only; allegedly 1.8 milliwatts from Patterson CA; never heard beyond daytime morning hours. Very rarely any others audible in this ISM band 13550-13570 despite listings (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2127 monitoring: From: Richard Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees. Dear Jeff/Jane and Glenn: World of Radio #2127, confirmed, below Details: 5950, 2359, (45433), jamming, noisy, 2358, February 27 UT [Sun] 9955, 2331, 2344, 2357 (45433), 2359, March 1 UT [Tue] 5850, half way mark, 1037 (55444), (55443), 1059, March 2 UT [Wed] 9395, slight QRN, 0130, 0153 (45433), 0158, March 3 UT [Thu] (Lemke, Richard -AB)`` Also confirmed UT Thursday March 3 at 0130 on WRMIs: 9395, S7/S9 into Minneapolis SDR; 5010, S9/+15 into St Lucia SDR. New WOR 2128 should be ready for download early UT Fri March 4 and first SW broadcasts at 0130 on WRMIs 5850 & 7780 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. [WOR] South Park parodies Putin --- South Park is on the ball, with a new episode `Back to the Cold War`, starring V. Putin et al. Premiered last night UT Thu March 3 at 0100 on Comedy Central, when all new episodes first appear. CC is crammed with old SP repeats, but per TitanTV, this one, season 25, episode 4 is due to repeat, times and days strictly UT, so mark your calendar: Sunday March 6 at 0614; UT Thursday March 10 at 0030. There is even some Russian dialog, and the national anthem (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report despatched at 1936 UT March 3

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, March 2 at 1510, no signal from LRA36 into three Brazil KiwiSDRs, missing this Wednesday. Someone in Salem OR was also checking, no doubt Sam Sánchez (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** AZORES. 6114, March 2 at 0715, RTTY again vs 6115 Japan. Now I see that Lou Johnson, Atlanta told me at 1330 Feb 27, presumably referring to monitoring before 0200 when WWCR is on 6115: ``For the last 3 nights (2/24, 2/25. 2/26) I can hear some teletype, but it`s weak, maybe 15% of the signal, and generally not a problem. Lou`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** BELIZE. 21282-USB, March 2 at 2058, V31XX with quick contacts, pileups, then says he is taking a break to rest his butt. QRZ.com: ``V31XX Belize flag Belize. QSL MANAGER: K4XS DIRECT ONLY WITH SASE/GREEN STAMPS. Bill Kollenbaum, Consejo Shores, Corozal District, Belize. I QSL 100! V31XX has been on the air since October 2021``. It`s easy to assume 15m is not open, but full scan encounters a few scattered DX signals, as 21525 WRMI is much more than usual JBA carrier (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9700, March 2 at 0712, S9+30 of dead air, the only RHC still on air where something`s always wrong (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CURACAO. 21275-USB, March 2 at 2101, QRZ and CQ15 de PJ2/AF4Z making quick contacts; is a contest underway? Someone asks him, ``where`s Curacao`` -- NE of South America. Oh. QRZ.com: ``PJ2/AF4Z Curacao flag, DONNIE L WINN, 1882 BARKLEY AVE, MELBOURNE, FL 32935, Curacao. I will be in Curacao operating from Febuary 25 to March 5 2019 [sic]. I will at the contest station PJ2T and also operating with a team in the ARRL International DX Contest as PJ2T. While at PJ2T contest Station, I will be operating as PJ2/AF4Z during the week as time permits. QSL will be via LOTW or Direct only`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9899.60, March 2 at 2221 direct, no need for a remote to detect Cairo crashingly on the air, S9+30/40 of extreme distortion, presumably English. Something`s always egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ITALY [non]. 7290, March 2 at 1902, checking how IRRS is doing this Wednesday via Bulgaria: at UTwente weak vs heavy rapid steady pulsing and heavy ACI from CRI on 7295. 1926 clear of pulsing with anti-abortion show from AC 916, `Life Matters`; what has that to do with Ukraine vs Russia? 1930 IRRS ID, `Feature Story News`; 1952 recheck, the rapid pulsing is back, also heard via Carlow, Eire SDR at 1902, so definitely something external, perhaps OTH radar (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KUWAIT [non?]. 11765, March 2 at 1547, surprisingly strong S9/+10 signal next to Cuba, in Chinese, music, not much else from Asia on band. Scheduled is RFA via Kuwait this hour on M/W/F, so it could be CNR1 jammer instead. Jumps around to: 11590 Sat/Sun, 11725 Tue/Thu (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. RF 28, March 2 at 1515 UT, only one DX signal decoding with marginal tropo enhancement, Ion on virtual 44, including the only subchannel of any value, Newsy on 44-6, unlike 62-7 in OKC. This is KTPX Okmulgee = Tulsa market. Rabbitears.info shows it`s direxional toward the NE, but thisaway very much off the side close to a null, belying it being one of the top `Tulsa` stations decoding here. There were also BAD sigs into the STB on at least: 10, 12, 34? The other major TV info site, W9WI.com is gone and Doug Smith says it`s not coming back; now goes to a Wordpress sample page (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SPAIN. 9690, Wed Mar 2 at 2300, REE English VG into Maryland SDR; after news at 2307 Amy introduces interview in Beirut with an expeditioner to South Sudan to get acquainted with primitive tribes and enjoying? being included in a flesh-cutting ritual. Just as this is getting interesting, segment over already, 2311 on to Justin visiting Madrid bookshops presumably with flesh intact (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [non]. 5960, March 2 at 2300, after BBC 2259*, no signal from VOT English into UTwente; by 2305 the CCCCCCI is on already: make that CCCC as there is nothing to CCI with: PBS Xinjiang, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uyghurs and other Moslems. Still no VOT by 2315 and not checked further, so SPAIN q.v. without competition (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4095+, March 2 at 0718 UT, upward sweeps and DW ID on CW for Desert Whooper, heard twice in less than a minute. Very weak, JBA as always (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 21282-USB, March 2 at 2059, KN2CZZ, John, close to center of NY state, contacting unheard W5ZXV. Is he a novice?? Surely not now, but displays his original novice license dated 4/17/53: https://www.qrz.com/lookup/kn2czz ``KN2CZZ USA flag USA, John W Bell, 106 Stockton Pl, Syracuse, NY 13219, USA``. So you can still opt to op with novice call? 15m finally a bit open but no activity on 12 or 10m, not even beacons (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2127 monitoring: zzz thru Wed Mar 2 at 1030 on WRMI 5850; anyone hear it? Confirmed Wed March 2 at 2222 the 2200:21 on WBCQ 7490.1v, S3-S6 in the noise level. On average reception here will get worse and worse into spring and summer, markedly March 16 when shifted to 2100:21, an hour further into the dayside. I hope it`s listenable further east. Next: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. One may contribute via PayPal not necessarily in US$ , to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, USA. New WOR 2128 should be ready early UT Fri March 4 for download and first SWBC at 0130 on WRMIs 5850 & 7780 (Glenn Hauser, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, Wed March 2 at 1548, music, then ``pigs in space`` on WRMI. That would be Hobart R Intl. Seriously? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0048 UT March 3

** AZORES. 6114, March 1 at 0732, RTTY INTRUDER stronger than last time, and it might complain of QRM from 6115 Radio Nikkei, Japan, tsk2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 15230, March 1 at 1527, RHC is S9 but JBM vs much stronger // S9+20 15140 sufficiently modulated but with squeal. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9899.608+, Feb 28 at 2112, R. Cairo is S9+30 into UTwente with extremely distorted music. Something`s always egregious in Egypt. 9899.608v wavering slightly plus and minus by hundredths of Hertz, March 1 at *2114.5, carrier on from R. Cairo after nothing at 2111 when there were 2390 users at UTwente; 2115 timesignal is loud and clear, but then talk and music at S9+40 is suptorted; still totally unusable (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ITALY [and non]. Glenn Hauser wrote on 28/02/2022 01:28: Alfredo, The last two Fridays there was no signal on 7290, and now I see that 7290 has been removed from your program schedule - the days I can see, as Thu, Sat and Sun will not load. Can you confirm that 7290 is permanently canceled; and there will not be any IRRS SW broadcasts of WOR or any of the other media programs? Meanwhile 1323 seems to be doing well at least to the nearby remote -- except during the 19-20 UT hour when interference from Romania in German is considerable. And in Hungarian before 1900. Glenn`` Alfredo Cotroneo of IRRS replied March 1: ``Hi Glenn, We focused more on raising power on MW 1323 kHz lately to cover Ukraine, eastern Russia and Belarus (besides the rest of Central and Northern Europe). I confirm our commitment on 7290 kHz Shortwave for one hour in the evening from 20-21 CET. Our program schedule had been adjusted slightly to allow new programs from 19-23:10 (approx) CET and added more news coverage on 1323 kHz. We may have to move WOR slightly as airtime is filling up due to special programs beamed to the new war zone, regretfully. Will update you on this. Also check: https://www.nexus.org/humanitarian-radio-broadcasting-at-the-time-of-the-ukrainian-war/ Best 73s. Alfredo`` I see that 7290 has been re-inserted into the program sked at 19-20 UT only, at least on the visible days, along with 1323 on a longer span. Let`s hear if 7290 be axually on air today. And go to the link about IRRS` power increase --- never specified -- on 1323; but WRTH 2022 showed it originally only 5/1 kW. ``Beamed to the war zone`` -- does that mean a direxional antenna? Got to UTwente just in time March 1 at 1957 when there were 2797 users, and on 7290 heard a bit of an Irish song before it froze up. Off the air by the time I got it back but that must have been IRRS reactivated via Bulgaria. Later checking 1323 kHz via nearby Noale SDR, at 2038 closing TUC Radio, maybe their latest podcast about Ukraine crisis: https://tucradio.org/section/podcasts/newest-podcasts/ then `Power Minute` of gospel-huxtering. At 2059 someshow cut off, ID, 2100 `Feature Story News` and `UN News` BTW with so many users on UTwente now, some are constantly going and coming, so if you don`t hook up at first, or lose it, chances are good of getting back on if you keep refreshing sooner rather than later, the max now unknown but keeps expanding? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [and non]. 5960, March 1 circa 2300, no signal here from VOT on the DX-398 with clipon, but maybe on the air. At 2358, UTwente is still getting it S9+30 with IS and German ID, so here we go again since something`s always erroneous at Emirler: 2400 timesignal and opening spurious German atop the CCCCCCI; only the latter at 0014 recheck March 2, CNR1 via PBS Xinjiang, East Turkistan, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uyghurs and other Moslems (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 11720, Feb 28 at 2105, VOA is still playing music over its only active English frequency from Grimesland, Soul on Mondays, rather than `Flashpoint Ukraine`. It`s reported only on VOA regular English webcast, presumably of no interest to Africans! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2127 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday March 1 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, S9+10 into Minneapolis SDR; still holding to that level at 0155. Also confirmed Tuesday March 1 at 2330 on WRMI 9955, S9+10/20 direct. Next: 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. One may contribute via PayPal not necessarily in US$ , to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, USA (Glenn Hauser, WOR) ** U S A. Re my comments about WBCQ 4790 and the new Radio Angela, Bill Tilford responds: While I dislike the CODAR issue more than anyone, I'm not sure I otherwise agree with the notion of 4790 being WBCQ's worst frequency in terms of coverage reach. Both in tests and the first night's official broadcast, 4790 has terrestrially outperformed 7490 in parts of the midwestern US and clobbered it in Europe, where 4790 will often arrive in parts of Eastern Europe as a quite listenable breakfast show as well as the US and Canada. Yes, there are local bad zones, but that is true with many frequencies. As to Latin America, we'll see what coming months bring (or not). 7490's secret weapon has been its webcasts, which in the context of this discussion don't count, along with its somewhat better reach out west and down south. As a transatlantic frequency, 4790 appears to be the better option, azimuth notwithstanding. As to Encore, our own schedule was not for the purpose of stealing listeners from it - I respect and enjoy that program myself. But it does have multiple repeats throughout the week (unlike WBCQ Concert Hall, which plays once) with the same remote web sdr possibilities that some of our listeners will need to use to bring in Radio Angela's programs. There are miscellaneous reasons, some related to production schedules, why the other programs in the RA schedule are pencilled in where they are, and for now Sunday is what makes sense for WBCQ Concert Hall. We are also doing longer-form works (whole operas and symphonies) than Encore due to the luxury of a two hour slot, so it's not really the same material. Whether that works to our advantage or Encore's at any point in time will depend upon a listener's mood and preferences. Hopefully we will both thrive. And, for those on the horns of a dilemma, there are, as mentioned, recorders. Since neither program is pay-per-listen, let us instead be happy that this much classical is back on the airwaves between the two. A much better problem to have than "gee, there's nothing on..." The WBCQ.com website has historically taken its time for updates, for those with access to Facebook, the WBCQ The Planet Facebook page has the full published schedule.`` (via WOR iog via Glenn Hauser) ** U S A. (7490v), UT Tue March 1 at 0030, WBCQ webcast after secret semirepeat of UBMP, theme sounder of `Camp Constitution Radio`, then commercial for IBM.com! before body of CCR. Amazing that IBM would sponsor that; possibly random adsertion somewhere up the line (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0457 UT March 2

Monday, February 28 2022
** AZORES [and non]. 6114, Feb 28 at 0715, RTTY INTRUDER believed to be US Navy, is back. Not strong and altho abutting 6115 Nikkei Japan, USB tuning on 6115 escapes it. Lou Johnson, Georgia, keeps complaining that the RTTY QRMs WWCR after 0100 when it`s on 6115 until 0200. But WWCR is so blasting here that it would not be a problem in the unlikely event I ever wanted to listen to it. Still, RTTY, by the USG no less, has no biz inside the exclusive 49m SWBC band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 11850, Feb 28 at 0229, RHC Spanish is S9+20 but JBM and suptorted; also with parasitic spur carriers on 11840 & 11860, the upper one QRMing jamming against nothing (else except maybe Yemen [non]). Meanwhile, 11760 is S9+20 distorted, 11670 S9+10 undermodulated. Somethings` always wrong at RHC. In the NASWA Flashsheet, Jerry Lenamon in Waco puts it thus about 15730 QRMing 15720 NZ: ``Only a handful of frequencies in use with over a hundred to choose from but the Cubans have to infringe. I think the Cubans would be much better off if they retired half of their transmitters in order to devote their obviously inadequate budget to the remaining equipment. I’ve heard it said that the Cuban government pretends to pay their workers and the workers pretend to work. Perhaps their equipment problems are a result of this`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** IRAN. 7380, Feb 28 at 0234, S9/+10 of dead air - or is it just barely modulated. Per Aoki and EiBi, can only be VIRI in Arabic via Zahedan at 0230-0530. HFCC shows 500 kW at 289 degrees for CIRAFs 38 & 39 = Arabia to Turkey, Egypt, Libya (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ROMANIA. 5990 // 7410, UT Mon Feb 28 at 0239, lite jazz during the RRI Galbeni hour in French. Alan Roe`s Music on Shortwave says it`s `Les tubes du moment` on UT Mon & Tue while the 0230-0245 block contains other music every day except Fri. Tubes means hits in this sense, pour quoi? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15740, Feb 28 at 1921, S9+10 of open carrier. Obviously SOP from VOA Grimesland, warming up on a frequency other than the one about to start, i.e. 15730 JBA already in French from another site, in order to avoid override/collision. At 1929.5 the OC jumps to 15730 and Botswana probably just turned off. 1930 JIP music in French service; pause, cut to news about Ukraine. Same signal level as was on 15740. Rationale for making site switch in middle of French hour remains unknown. BTW, Mike Cooper reports: ``VOA English has a new program, "Flashpoint Ukraine," airing at 2105 UT weekdays. Here is the description from today's schedule: 16:05 - 16:30 [EST] FLASHPOINT UKRAINE: Russia and Ukraine hold talks as U.N. meets --- Ukraine demanded an immediate cease-fire and the withdrawal of Russian forces as it met with Russia. How the current war is impacting Europe and the plight of refugees as they struggle to cross the border to escape fighting. Episodes can be found here: https://www.voanews.com/z/6932 There is also an Apple podcast page: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/flashpoint-ukraine-voice-of-america/id1610018620 Presenter: Steve Miller`` Fortunately, 2105 is the only hour in English still transmitted from North Carolina, on 11720 as long as B21 lasts, and VG here off the back to mid-America, aimed away toward Africa. Only other English SW frequency registered this hour is 6195 São Tomé. Otherwise, VOA has been getting low ratings for its breaking news coverage. This hour had been `wasted` on rock/African music (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2127 monitoring: confirmed Sunday February 27 at 2101 on IRRS via AM Italia, 1323 kHz, S9+10, no QRM but noisy, via nearby Noale SDR. Missed checking Sun Feb 27 at 2330 on WRMI 5950; anyone hear it? Confirmed UT Monday February 28 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, S9+15 into Missouri SDR. Also confirmed at 0256 UT Mon Feb 28 the 0230 on WRN N America webcast. Also confirmed UT Mon Feb 28 at 0425, S9/S7 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160 minus 28v Hz into Knoxville = 6159.972v, just as I am mentioning the `Taste of Radio Angela` which is on 4790 right now and have mainly been monitoring, WOR ending at 0429 so must have started on time. Next: 0130 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW [NEW] 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?] 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support. 4790, UT Mon Feb 28 at 0300, WBCQ has signed on after IS & ID loop, initiating `Radio Angela`, with intro `A taste of` show. S9/+10 fading up and down and constant CODAR swishes covering from above and below, so it`s unpleasant listening direct to here. First part is about classical music which will be the entire 03-05 program henceforth on UT Mondays: unfortunately at same time as `Encore`! on WRMI 5950 at 0300-0400 - which tonight I have recorded off an SDR for later listening. By 0314 we hear Marion from her Attic; 0339 Radio Ohne Namen, etc., etc. Radio Angela is deliberately not being webcast, as the point is to promote music and drama on SW. But I`ll have to use remotes further east to avoid the CODAR. Is WBCQ stuck on this 60mb frequency, no matter what? They are certainly aware of the CODAR. With perhaps the most innovative programming in store, yet by any objective standard, it`s WBCQ`s worst frequency; as long as 3265 is not even active: least coverage reach and facing most noise level which will only worsen into spring and summer storm seasons. The detailed convoluted Radio Angela schedule for the remainder of Standard Time is to be distributed shortly by Bill Tilford, but still not showing at wbcq.com which displays nothing but Brother Scare on 4790, despite being withdrawn weeks ago. An advance look for the first night, UT Tuesday March 1: 0300 `Marion`s Attic`; 0400 `Bluegrass State of Mind` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, Mon Feb 28 at 1540, something in Spanish, a clip inside AWR Wavescan on WRMI. Since WOR was replaced on Fri at 1530, I was wondering whether other shows in the DX/media strip were also affected; but not, still there among some three dozen weekly WS airings on WRMI. Next on Tue: SW Radiogram beepery (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2019 UT February 28
