Glenn Hauser logs October 3-4, 2021  View Printable Version
Monday, October 04 2021

Hauser
** CANADA. 2749-USB, Oct 4 at 0108, YL with marine weather in French,
forecasts for lundi, mercredi, jeudi, etc. DXinfocentre.com says at
this hour it would be VCO Sydney NS starting at 0040, 550 watts
bilingual. Next would be Yarmouth from 0140 and Halifax 0240.

First logs of these for the season vs the summer/storm noise level.

2598-USB, Oct 4 at 0109, YL with marine weather in English, always
weaker than 2749s, S3 to S2.5 close to the noise level. Starting at
0107 is VCM, 600 watts from St. Anthony which is on The Rock, but
listed with (LABRADOR); not sure what that means, transmitter one
place, source and or info about the other? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CARIBBEAN NETHERLANDS. 800, Oct 4 at 0155, Spanish in the mix on
E/W loop despite KQCV OKC and CKLW Windsor. TWR a.k.a. BONAIRE is SS
at 0000-0500 for Cuba and Caribbean, so a favorable azimuth for us. MW
News Oct has an article explaining why despite a 440 kW transmitter,
PJB is no longer easily into Europe, but best chance when for Carib in
general (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 590, Oct 4 at 0053, classical music, got to be CMBF, Radio
Musical Nacional, 25 kW from La Julia, Mayabeque near Habana. Only one
other CM on 590, a Rebelde in far Guantánamo. Best by far on my E/W
loop, buried on the N/S shortwire. Why can`t I hear a single US
station classical on AM? ¡Viva la revolución! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 4747 approx., Oct 4 at 0124, scratchy S7 spur out of 4765
Radio Progreso, which is S9+35 and distorted, QRMing CODAR; the
cadence of the spur matches the music on 4765. Matched by another
about 4783; full range each covers: approx. 4744-4748 & 4778-4785.
Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6165, Oct 4 at 0134, RHC in wrong language, Spanish not
English and // 5040; while 6000 is not // in music presumably correct
English service.

11670 & 11760, UT Mon Oct 4 at 0142, RHC `En Contacto` DX program in
progress, about a transponder change at the ISS, but these two
frequencies are suptorted, S3-S6. 11850 is not only suptorted but just
barely modulated as she is apparently citing the times for this show
but like last week I am not paying close attention beyond hearing
``0235`` which would be wrong instead of 0135. Elsewhere: 9710 with
heavy CCI from China; 9535 weaker but clearer.

13740, Oct 4 at 0144 another Spanish frequency check, sometimes on,
sometimes not, but now it`s in ENGLISH! Apparently crossed up with
6165 in Spanish. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6924-USB, Oct 4 at 0106, hard rock at S9. 0137 still
going but off by 0149 check. A few logs here say Two Dog Radio:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87249.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6876-USB, Oct 4 at 0107, guitar music S9; 0122 DJ
with Brit accent says ``Best Smooth Jazz``. 0137 still going. 0150
still VG with jazz piano; 0153 Brit chat spells out LUCAS, ``Smooth
Jazz`` as if name of ``station`` if not programme. 0201 Smooth Jazz
dedication to some YL for birthday? We hear a few words from her.
Accents are so heavy, hard for me to understand despite VG reception,
S9+10. Mentions bestsmoothjazz.com and rescued cats.

That website exists in London, England, with TV show of Oct 2, this
one? And promo next one of Oct 14.

These say 6876 is really Mix Radio International, starting at 2133 Oct
2 on 6866, and move to 6876 at 2226:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87233.0.html
Hardly anybody cites ``Best Smooth Jazz``, but MRI says after a
comment:

``Quote from: dave524 on Today at 01:53 --- For the wide signal I've
found the Digital mode in SDRUno with the 12K width gives the best
sound, great sounding show as usual``

``That`s great because our transmitter is optimized for wideband SDR
for best sound. At the same time we will sound good on any radio that
is on frequency with our GPS. Thank you for your posts and especially
tuning into MRI tonight. Logged Mix`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6930-USB, Oct 4 at 0149, weak music S3-S4 with
fadeouts. Much weaker than the others. Was not hearing this while 6924
was on. These say it`s Radio 48:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87248.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 1020, UT Mon Oct 4 at 0056, ``Born Too Late`` pop music
on near-local signal: got to be KOKP Perry, one of `Triple Play Sports
Radio` breaking main format. Past 0101, ``gotta get out of here, The
Old Stillwater Jukebox``, back next Sunday, ``Good night, Oklahoma,
Tom Dirato``, 0103 to dead air, JBA talk, CCI? No, gradual fadeup of
Patriot Radio Network, I suppose sports rather than political. So what
time does the Jukebox start??? He doesn`t say and the website does not
either, but has a rotating display on homepage:
http://tripleplaysportsradio.com/
I confirmed this // 105.1 KOSB Perry, local quality but not audible on
1580 KOKB Blackwell which is VG daytime, but now should be 49 watts. I
never hear either of these FMs on website: ``now 5-deep with 93.1
Stillwater, 93.3 Ponca City``. Presumably translators, but why do they
need one in S-W? Maybe separately programmed when games pile up,
triple-play not enough. KOKP 24h is plenty to ruin reception of
Roswell, Pittsburgh or anything else on 1020 (Glenn Hauser, Enid,
WOR)

** U S A. 3390.5-USB, Oct 4 at 0113 UT, NF01FB, fonetikaly more than
once, ``regional net has closed``; MARS? Have not heard a call of such
a format before (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 3819-USB, Oct 4 at 0115, the non-LSB hams again in technical
discussions, and this time I copy some calls: K5MXJ interjecting,
AA5KG, two of them talking over each other for a minute. QRZ.com
shows: K5MXJ, Kenneth M Jones, Jr, Houston, TX 77075;
AA5KG, ALAN C PETERSON, Pueblo West, CO 81007 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4095.65, Oct 4 at 0120, whoops and CW ID as DW, JBA vs S5
noise level, so Desert Whooper, no sign of any voice now. DW replied
to my last report:

``Hello Glenn! Thanks for you great HF listings! That is a very
interesting intercept! Definitely not any voice transmissions coming
from DW. What was your receive location and receiver bandwidth? There
is an ITU channel 401 on 4095 KHz for ships to transmit on. Maybe you
were hearing a ship plus DW whoops in your receiver??``

To which I replied:

``Enid OK. Not sure of the bandwidth, on the R75 but normal USB tuning
in 1-kHz steps landing right on 4095 where the SSB sounded normal.
Maybe ship, but seemed coordinated with the whoops and voicing the
kind of info which would otherwise be sent in CW. Wish I could have
heard it longer and better. Also, I did not detect any CW during this
log. While the voice was on 4095.00, I can`t be sure of the whooper
frequency, hard to pin down by its nature without a carrier but also
heard tuned to 4095.00`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 6993, Oct 4 at 0104, at least two JBA carriers beating, I
have been noticing lately; logged several times before, but I should
do so at least once a year, cf. this from *2017* ---

``6993, Sept 10 at 0002, JBA carrier as almost always audible from
presumed WH2XWF, experimental 164-watt transmitters with several
locations in Florida, to study ionospheric disturbances, never IDing,
nothing but dead air. We`ll see if this gets blown or flooded off.

6993, Sept 12 at 0133, no JBA carrier from presumed WH2XWF, the
Florida ionospheric study transmitters, so maybe Irma-caused. But Sept
13 at 0200 the JBA carrier is reaudible. No pirates (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WORLD OF RADIO 1895, DX LISTENING DIGEST)`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2106 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
October 3 from 2000.5 on IRRS SW via AM Italia 918 kHz, S9-S8 after
music, 2000 IRRS ID with Milano PO box, via Noale SDR.

Also confirmed Sun Oct 3 at 2230 on WRMIs, 5950, S9+28, and 9955 two
words behind, S9+32, both via Knoxville SDR.

Also confirmed UT Monday October 4 at 0030 on WRMIs: 7730 VG direct;
9395, S9+22 and 9455, S8, both via Knoxville SDR.

Also confirmed UT Monday October 4 from 0301.5 on Area 51 via WBCQ
6160 minus 27 Hz = 6159.973 into Knoxville SDR; JL ran slightly over
interrupted by a quick legal ID at 0300. S7 and must use narrow LSB to
minimise splash from 6165 RHC, still in Spanish, q.v. Next:

1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW

** U S A. 5050, UT Mon Oct 4 at 0128, WWRB is S9+45, gospel huxter
mixing with amateurish horn music, all distorted, then some horn only;
0130 YL introduces another program with guitar music, better
modulation. This is active only on UT Sun & Mon, for a few hours local
Sat and Sun evenings (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 12880, Oct 3 at 1452, Chinese S6-S4 with flutter, CNR1
jammer.

12500, Oct 3 at 1454, music S3-S5 with flutter, // 12880, CNR1 jammer.
No others found in the WOOB 12-13 or 10-11 areas (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 15140, Oct 3 at 1854, RHC with S7/9+10 of dead air; by 1909
modulating in English; but supposed to be in Kriyol before 1900.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** IRELAND. 13264-USB, Oct 3 at 1451, YL VOLMET, JBA S0, i.e. Shannon
scheduled here 24h (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. Re my Oct 2 report, Alan Roe replies on WOR iog:
``Hi Glenn, It's also worth mentioning that the RNZI/RNZPac weekly
schedules at https://www.rnz.co.nz/international/schedules still also
show "9:08PM [to 11:00PM] Sunday Night with Grant Walker" whereas the
timings should be 8:08-10: PM, i.e. 0708-0900 UT, and the programme is
now "The Sunday Night Retro Show with Phil O'Brien". I suspect that
some (at least) of the rest of weekly schedule timings may also be
one-hour off. Alan Roe, Teddington, UK`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U K. 15510, Oct 3 at 1855, modern ME vocal jazzish music, S9/S6,
1859 Arabish announcement with contact info including .com, not
finished when chopped off at 1859.5*. EiBi shows this is FEBA Radio
Sama via Woofferton, while Aoki calls it IBRA Media/Radio Sama. So
which is it? Radio Sama is not in the cross-reference page 524 of WRTH
2021. This transmission on a B-20 frequency appears on page 496 under
SWEDEN: IBRA Media with no mention of Sama. Maybe it`s just a program,
not a ``station``. FEBA refers to India and Pakistan, not Seychelles!
but of course no Arabic or Sama there. BTW, the only ``International``
entry under PAK. The only SW entry in ``National`` sexion is 7265,
Azad Kashmit Radio (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 414-MCW kHz, Oct 3 at 0633 UT, ND beacon SU, which is 40
watts from SioUx City, Iowa; the only somewhat unusual one tonight
altho not `new` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2106 monitoring: confirmed UT
Sunday October 3 ending at 0336 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, S9+20 direct
vs storm noise, so started early circa 0307.

Also confirmed Sunday October 3 at 1255 on NEW 1230 broadcast by WMRI
Europe via Channel 292, GERMANY, 9670, S6-S8 into UTwente, atop CCI
music. Normally I want to sleep an hour later, but good thing I
alarmed myself since no one has replied to my explicit request for
monitoring of this! 1259 music comes up, ``Piece of the Axion``, past
hourtop, 1302 roboYL ``Dex Carter`` ``playing favorite songs until
1400``. While this music is running, I can`t hear QRMusic which may
have stopped; I hope WMRI itself was not underlaying WOR with music.
It so happens that the time for us coincides with that Vietnamese
clandestine transmitted from Taiwan at 1230-1300 on 9670; EiBi says
there is noise jamming too but I don`t hear that. WMRI`s entire
experimental broadcast runs 1200-1600 Sundays; and Channel 292
schedule shows it`s direxional on two letters toward North America;
they now display this with a proper great circle map. But it was not
audible into Maine SDR on this day path, let alone to OK. Channel 292
transmits from Rohrbach in SE Germany, Bavaria near Ingolstadt, east
of Stuttgart, between Nürnberg and München; only 520 km = 323 statute
miles from UTwente SDR at Entschede, Netherlands; but evidently not
inside the skip zone. Next:

2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy
2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NE
2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW; 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW

** U S A [and non]. 9330, Oct 3 at 1458 past 1500, no signal from WLCR
via WBCQ. Ivo Ivanov, Bulgaria, also reports:

``World's Last Chance Radio relays via SPL and ENC-DMS off air. But on
October 3 also no signal of World's Last Chance Radio via WBCQ-6

https://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.com/2021/10/no-signal-of-worlds-last-chance-radio.html
-- 73! Ivo Ivanov``

Alan Holder, Isle of Wight, also reports Oct 3:
``Since October 1, I cannot locate WLC radio via the Woofferton
relays: 17700 English 1700-1900, 9800 Arabic 1800-2100. I also checked
13840 Arabic this morning October 3 at 0930 (and 15780, 17520
alternatives) via Kostinbrod, but nothing heard. The WLC Web site
still lists these broadcasts. Has Galal Doss fallen behind on his
payments or have the relays been cancelled? Alan Holder, G4ZBH, Isle
of Wight, U.K.``

9330, however, Oct 3 at 1846, S9/+10 of dead air back on past 1925
with no modulation, off at 1930* and *1931 back on; surely this
instead of Cuban spy (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5085, Sun Oct 3 at 1849, rock music at S9, but weakened in
daytime absorption just after local mean noon here, WTWW-2; checked
since first hearing S9+10 of PPPP on 9475 WTWW-1. 2 is often on
without 1 on this or 5830 at night, but not 1 without 2 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 4095.00-USB, Oct 3 at 0625, surprised to hear OM voice
instead of CW, alternating with upward whoops; JBA in high storm noise
level, but is giving temps in degrees; 0626 ID maybe? and ``out``; and
later 0630 mentions UTC? There seem to be lots of beacons around this
kHz. The ``Desert Whooper`` itself has been higher about 4095.6. I`ve
asked the team there if that`s it, or what. A quick look at HF
Underground does not find anything about voice on this exact frequency
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 12747-USB, Oct 3 at 1453, 2-way talk seems Spanish
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Some BAD TV signals Oct 3 at 1509 UT when there is some
tropo in OK & KS: RF 8, 12, 14, 31. Likely Wichita market except 14
could be KOCW Hoisington KS, if not KOCY OKC which I have yet to
confirm. Rooftop antenna remains fix-aimed toward OKC (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Oct 2 at 1456 tune-in via Brasil
remotes, LRA36 is on again this Saturday, usual stuff of frequent IDs,
historical talx, songs, i.e. 1525 hielo song, 1527 Antártida song;
1542 re-``sign-on``, 1545 Antda. song; 1552 rock; music past 1605 and
1617 tune-out. Manuel Méndez, Spain, who barely hears it direct, says
it quit at 1717*, having first tuned in at 1452 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 6060, Oct 2 at 0638, RHC English with humbuzz after some
nights not suffering from that, S9+20/30; 6165 is S9+30/40 and
somewhat overmodulated while 6000 & 6100 are off. Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 11725, Saturday October 2 at 0632, RNZI S9+10 the SSOB
by far with honky-tonk piano music, announcement on the `Saturday
Night` nationwide request show, always a fun listen. I first checked
7245 and found it empty.

The current how-to-listen schedule is still self-contradictory:
04:59 - 06:58 11725 Pacific Daily
05:59 - 12:58 7245 Pacific Sat Sun
06:59 - 08:58 7245 Pacific Mon - Fri
as if on both frequencies Sat & Sun at 0559-0658! They do have two
transmitters but never? run both at once.

As for the programme, another contradixion, for October 2:
``8:08 PM. Saturday Night
Saturday nights on RNZ National is where Paul Brennan plays the songs
YOU want to hear. All music from 7 till midnight (RNZ)``
Obviously it really starts at 0608 UT, since a week ago, NZ started
imagining the local time zone be 13 hours ahead. This is rather too
late even for me in the ``CDT`` of UT -5, but we shall ``gain`` an
hour from November to make it appear just after local midnight and
only hope there will still be a VG L&C frequency in B-21. If you are
up late on our ``Friday night``, go hear this.

https://www.rnz.co.nz/national/programmes/saturdaynight
The programme page dated October 2 has playlists for each hour but not
exact times. What I heard amid the first hour was:
Winifred Atwell - Black And White Rag

Extraterritorial listeners might not be refused since it is on SW:
``Saturday Night --- Your requests, nostalgia and musical memories.
Saturday evening from 7pm - Midnight
To make a request or contact the programme:
saturdaynight@radionz.co.nz
Text: 2101 [is this funxional worldwide, only 4 #? I don`t text]

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2106 monitoring: confirmed after
1600 UT Sat Oct 2 on WRN North American service webcast.

Also confirmed Sat Oct 2 at 1952 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, about 17
minutes into so started circa 1935. Occasional lite crashes from
storms in MO & IL, but not right over Wentzville.

Also heard at 2353 Sat Oct 2 on WRMI 5950, which I had left running
via GA/TN remotes after Wavescan until 2330 when WOR must have started
at a new unknown time; but it now shows on the System L schedule ---
and another new one on me, Friday at 2230! as well as Sunday 2230, all
on 5950.

[Following at 0000 UT Sun Oct 3 on 5950: TRSW with Europirate R.
Monique International, which seems to specialise in classic rock, what
else? The silly DJ whose favorite expletive is ``bay-beh``, calls out
to American listeners.]

WOR 2106 also confirmed UT Sun Oct 3 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG. Next:
0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0430]

1230 UT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670 [NEW]
[reports please of this to confirm; and how is
reception around Europe or beyond? Direxional
toward North America]

2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy
2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NE
2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE

** U S A. 9950 & 9960, Oct 2 at 0626, once again WRMI audible on
parasitic spurs 5 kHz above and below 9955, which is S9+20/30, during
TOMBS with a trace of that modulation on 9960 and less so on 9950.

4975 & 4985, soon checked too Oct 2 at 0646, the same type of spurring
out of 4980 which is also S9+20/30, the upper one a JBA carrier, and
hardly any modulation on the lower. So far the only two WRMI
transmitters detected this way, adjacent #3 and #4 which are both on
160 degree antenna(s) (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (5085), UT Sun Oct 3 at 0009, WTWW-2 already in TOUTA via
webcast. Slightly distorted but at least it`s in $ tereo unlike SW, and
there is nothing like an organ that needs $ tereo! Topic is ``ladies
day``, i.e. female organistes. Ends at 0030, so now supposed to start
at 0000? Don`t count on it. I take off my phones but don`t stop the
player; at 0039 I hear traces of TO --- yes, more such music, not
played by ladies, but totally George Wright, i.e. a masculine person.
Must be running two episodes in a row, ends at 0100; what next? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** AUSTRIA. 15440, Oct 1 at 1429, unmistakable AWR theme and off*, S4
with flutter. End of Urdu semihour via Moosbrunn. BTW, previous block
at 1330 on 15440 is Thai via Tajikistan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 346-MCW kHz, Oct 1 at 0635 UT, ND beacon dash and YXL,
which is 500 watts from Sioux Lookout, Ontario. JJBBAA vs storm and
other noise level. Only other Canadian at similar low level is
332-MCW, 1000-watt dash and QT, Thunder Bay ON, as always mixing with
nearby IC Wichita (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GREECE. 9420, Oct 1 at 0614, S5-S9 of dead air with flutter. Has to
be EPT/ERT/VOG, minus modulation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2106 monitoring: confirmed UT
Friday October 1 at 0330 on WRMI 5985, S9/+10 into Bonaire SDR, with
some reverby sound not on the original.

Next airing is supposed to be Friday Oct 1 at 1815 on IRRS SW 7290 via
Bulgaria, and on AM Italia 918 kHz. EVERYTHING went wrong;

7290 via UTwente: 1814 carrier seems on, S8/9+10 but no modulation.
After 1815 joins WOR intro in progress but only for a few seconds.
This keeps happening about once a minute for a few seconds each! To
make matters worse, the last few times there is also audio from some
other program mixing at equal level. Till I give up listening at 1823.
I don`t need this needless frustration.

918 kHz via Noale remote: no WOR at all; music and occasional canned
IDs in English, timechex in Italian. Scheduled to play again on 918 at
2030 UT, but I`m away; did anyone hear it?

Confirmed UT Sat Oct 2 at 0130 on WRMI 9395: VP with jamming-like
pulsing into Maryland SDR, but VG S9+10/20 clear into Missouri. Next:

1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM

** U S A. 9955, via BST-1 caradio, Fri Oct 1 at 2139 during VORW on
WRMI, reply to a listener, Josiah in Grass Valley, California who is
about to move to Kansas and hopes he can still hear VORW. Josiah in
CA? Could it be the YHWH guy? Odds against.

I was setting up to hear the following program, `Satanic Shortwave` at
2200-2230 on 9955, but too busy until it was just ending at 2228;
confirmed anyway. I may hear a recording. Same program is to repeat in
two weeks (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 6160 minus 52 Hz on Maryland SDR = 6159.948, Fri Oct 1 at
2353, I`m home just in time to hear another new SW show ending,
`Cruisin Radio` via WBCQ. This will be weekly at 2300 Fridays for at
least a bimonth. No way I could have heard this signal on the caradio.
I also compare to Area 51 webcast of WBCQ, which is NOT carrying this
but some other music. That`s understandable, as Cruisin` replaces Area
61 oldtimeradio programming. Yet both 6160- and webcast do join for
`AAAWWW` which follows (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (6160-), UT Sat Oct 2 from 0000, ``Area 51`` webcast with
`AAAWWW` on WBCQ: for entire hour it`s overmodulating in the red, as A
& A yell over each other. Please! quit yelling and/or turn down the
pot so the old analog VU meter stays out of the red. Aside from all
the ranting, it`s painful to try to listen to. First topic is about
how they have been interviewed about pirate radio in the old days by
the TV show `Inside Edition`. Since it`s syndicated, no telling when
this will go on the air; maybe A&A will notify us. Angela says
``people just don`t get it`` -- what Free Speech is all about. Unlike
previous week, takes several callers. 0015 first one says he is
quitting something; talk about antennas; Canadian border blocked. 0021
Rabishu calls from Colorado. Has been monitoring ham nets a lot, such
as Davidlist net from RSA at 02 Z daily. Frequencies vary but are
shown at 7156list.com, where one may also register for contact. Has
been going since December 2009; 0024 Rabishu says he may be
interviewing gh and would like to put it on WBCQ website along with
one he did years ago with Marion of the Attic. Says his Satanic SW
aired on WRMI this evening. Allan says he should try to get gh to
laugh (I fear my humor may be too subtle for some, not laughing out
loud on the air.) 0026 datestamp as 1 October YOOLF 2021. 0027 another
caller re Free Speech. Angela boycotts Land O`Lakes over removing
Indian mascot. 0031 Allan rails against income tax again. Goes over
several other programs WBCQ airs. WBCQ could not exist in Canada
because ``Canada doesn`t license private shortwave broadcasters`` ---
o yeah? What about CFRX, CFVP?

At 0050 he finally reveals what WBCQ stands for, N.B.! ---
``WEINER BROADCAST COMMUNICATIONS QUINTESSENTIAL`` --- now we know.

Asks for emails and replies a few; 0054 several items from Free Radio
Weekly just in, but not including what Angela would like, ``Big Balls
Broadcasting``. Was there a prayer? If so I missed it. John Carver`s
version:

``Tonight's show started on time on 4790, 6160 and 7490. Allan and
Angela in a hot studio in hot Fla and both of them half naked. Allan
said that both he and Angela had been interviewed by Inside Edition
concerning pirate radio. Some talk about the interview and the origins
of WBCQ. Phone call at 0015 with a bit of antenna information. Another
phone call followed immediately from a long time listener who wants to
put a program on the station. Phone call at 0027 about free speech.
Allan then stated that some of the programmers of the station had been
interviewed and intimidated by the FBI. Allan said it was a
persecution of free speech. Then a small political rant followed by a
speech about the importance of free speech and how we could support
it. Then a small rant about the IRS. He goes through the program list
for the station naming the programs that he thinks are really good and
laments the number of open slots in the schedule and offers special
rates for pirates and free radio producers. Partial reading of the new
Free Radio Weekly at 0054 and then into emails. Closing prayer at 0059
and off the air at 0100. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

Hauser
** BRAZIL [and non]. 9665.993V, Sept 30 at 0628, gospel music at
S6-S9, as RVM is doing well, but almost reaching a full kHz
off-frequency, wobbling audibly, but at one point measured here. Makes
het with a weaker 9665.00, no doubt VOK, which is also into
offfrequenciness but not here, not now. RVM outshines its adjacents,
TOMBS via Channel 292 on 9670, and RRI in Arabic from 0630 on 9660.
EiBi still displays RVM on only 9665.2, Aoki on 9665 and neither will
reveal that it varies (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2106)

** CUBA. 6230, Sept 30 at 0619, RHC English at S6-S8. This is a
leapfrog mixing product of 6100 over 6165 another 65 kHz beyond.

6140, Sept 30 at 0620, RHC English is JBA, weaker than 6230; this one
is a leapfrog of 6060 over 6100 another 40 kHz beyond.

Fundamentals from Bauta are plenty strong: 6060 S9/+10; 6100 S9+20;
6165 S9+40. Another possible mix would be 6270, i.e. 6060 over 6165
another 105 kHz beyond, but nothing there, why? Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2106)

** KOREA NORTH. 9445.137, Sept 30 at 0627, JBA talk, language
uncertain but way off frequency. Scheduled on ``9445`` is VOK in
English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2106)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6931-USB, Oct 1 at 0023, S9, live-sounding DJ about
connexions, says there is another unknown just below him but not
QRMing. ``--- Radio`` featuring oldies, gonna relax, have some sweet
wine. 0024 song about angels, Teen Angel? 0030, `Wheels`, ``I love
this song!``. 0034 ``Oldies Radio``. But many more logs here as Goat
Herder Radio, one of Zekey`s stations:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6925-USB, Oct 1 at 0025, another S9 pirate with
raucous rock; 0027 gibberish with bleeps, YL ID sounds like ``WTIC``
which is a real station in Hartford. Must have been WDOG, per many
logs here:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87060.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Reply to my log of hams on 80m in USB instead of LSB,
probably Usanian but could be Canadian:

``Hi, Glenn, Do you suppose that those hams on USB, 3819 kHz, might
have been using ex-military radios that were not capable of
transmitting on LSB (without being modified)? I used to have one of
those, an old AN/PRC-47. Also, some ex-maritime radios are limited to
USB and AM, but can be modified for USB [LSB?]. I guess there is no
way to tell what they were using, unless they actually said so.
Anyway, just a thought! I enjoy your reports. Take care and all the
Best! Very 73, Martin Potter, VE3OAT`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF
